Death Threats: A Michele Shepard Story (The True Death Series Book 6) by [R.K. Gleason]

Arriving back from their rescue mission in Elysara, many things have changed in Purgatory and between Shepard and his friends. As things go from bad to worse, many of the souls return to their ancient and horrifying ways to survive. A new player has positioned himself as the cruel, would-be protector of Burnington. His demands are simple, complete subjugation and obedience at all costs. Shepard reacts in his usual fashion, with a cocktail in one hand, a Coffin Nail in the other and a ‘fuck you’ on his lips.

But his cavalier approach to the ruthless leader has unintended consequences, forcing our band of angels and mortal souls alike to fight for their lives, defending themselves on all sides and fleeing from an unavoidable enemy. Battling their way home and encountering unspeakable dangers along the way, our friends are forced to reconsider old alliances as they face new and more powerful enemies.

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Each of the books in this series has been completely out of the box. In order to truly appreciate them you have to have some sort of an inappropriate sense of humor. I am proud to say that I have one of those! Each book, and this one is no exception, has had some sort of twisted, goriness with inappropriate humor that gets me in stitches every time. Death Threats comes right out of the gate giving you a WTF moment…and it is great! The continuous banter between Horace and Shepard is never ending but now we truly have a cast of great characters that all clash, can’t stand each other, but will fight to the end for each other. You know, it is what it is, and all that. I have to say that I am happy to see that Uriel and Bob have stuck around to get into shenanigans with the rest of the guys. And our new bad guy, ugh! He is truly wicked. Part of what I love about Shepard’s character is that he is always looking out for numero uno, but deep down he wants to do what’s right. He is going to grumble and complain about it the whole time. He is going to get under everyone’s skin while doing it. But it is totally worth it to see everyone else’s reactions. My love for this series increases with each book. Death Threats is one hell of a ride and I can’t wait to see what’s in store next!

I was born high in the Andes and raised by a band of wandering gypsies. At the ripe old age of 7, I struck out on my own, dabbling in the arts of alchemy and personal financing. Neither of the trades paid off. At 13 I became the personal juggler for Stephen King, but alas, that didn’t last long either. Since then, I’ve wandered aimlessly through life and this planet, stopping along the way to help people and smite the wicked.

A little while ago I decided to try my hand at writing. I published The True Death series independently in 2015 and currently have twelve books published to date.
