#wotr #attendingauthor #shifters Lightweight (Hallow Brothers 7) by Tricia Andersen

Is this the end of the Hallow family?

The Hallows have been exiled from their home and the cell towers that sustained their income are burned to the ground. Their only hope rests on Caleb and Joshua who fly to Tokyo to plead for their contracts with LunaBit, the app company they work for. The night before their big meeting, Joshua is drawn to a blonde at a bar. After a night of amazing, sensual sex, he wakes up alone, bearing the mating mark of his ancestors, similar to the ones his six brothers already share with their mates.

When the brothers finally meet with Maya Johansson, LunaBit’s Vice President of the North American Division, Joshua discovers she is the woman who was his bed the night before. Maya holds secrets of her own, which includes being aware of what the tattoo she now bears means. She demands that Joshua returns to Los Angeles to negotiate the family’s contracts with LunaBit. Joshua agrees, willing to do anything to protect his loved ones in Minnesota. However, can he withstand a fabricated marriage, tension with an ex-boyfriend, and a new father-in-law that is pure evil incarnate? And can he save the Hallows home before they all fall to the vampires who want them dead?

Well with the fate of the family business in the hands of their boss, Caleb and Josh find themselves in Japan for a huge meeting to try to save their jobs while fighting to save their homes and family from vampires who want them dead. At eh bar josh started feeling this odd urge he’s never felt before then walks in a beautiful woman no he’s at a lost for words he just knows he wants her naked in his bed, and that’s what happens. Little does he know that his new mate is the boss he’s about to have a meeting with to save the family’s contract and job. Maya does one thing work and don’t like to deal with feelings after her ex used her to try and get her VP job she has a hard time trusting men, while hiding a secret of her own. But when she spots Josh and wakes up with the mating tattoo she already knows what he is and what it means but she’s not willing to let it affect her job and what she needs to do. Will their new found relationship get in the way of business, and the vampires get what they want. Or in true Hallow fashion will the brothers over come everything against them with their mates at their side to take what is theirs. This book is hawt, hawt, hawt, and full of mystery  that will not disappoint at all.

She’s everything I shouldn’t want, but exactly what I crave.

She bleeds innocence the way I radiate darkness. The moment she walked into my club, she was mine. She just didn’t know it. I’ll be the one to ruin her, and she will love every second.

Innocence lost can’t be regained.

My life seems rather simple from the outside. I’m the devoted daughter to a former rodeo champion. I never wanted to follow my mother’s footsteps into the arena. My boots are firmly planted in the dirt on our family farm, but an accident changed everything. Now I spend my nights on a stage, and my days in the barn. Dancing has paid the bills for the past two years, but no one knows my secret. Or so I thought.

Amusement is the darkly sweet duel POV stalker romance you didn’t know you needed

I bought this book and this my honest opinion

She was doing whatever she could to make sure she could pay the bills to keep her family ranch. One day at the store she ran into Rafe and he was determined to get to know her to get her to be his. Little did Lucy know that he already knew way more about her then she knew and he was stalking her to make sure no one else would have her. Will Rafe get what he want without her finding out who he truly is or will Lucy run in the other direction. This story was wow it kept me in on my toes with each page, I’m so glad I choose to get this book it definitely wont be the last time I read Albany’s books

One phone call, five words, and I’m back in the town I swore I’d never return to.

Hill Crest Library smelled bad, and it wasn’t just the corpse in front of me causing it. The once beautiful building had fallen into disrepair over the past few years.

Belinda the new librarian was doing her best to clean it up, but a dead body wasn’t helping matters.

Dad needs help to solve the murder, so that’s what I’m here to do, then get out of town before anyone even knows I’m back

The case should be easy for an MBI agent, even a newly minted one like me, but before I can check into the hotel my three reasons for leaving, corner in the lobby.

My life just got a lot more complicated.

Homecoming Homicide is a Cozy style Slow Burn RH with an adorkable Heroine and Three not so normal Fellas thrown into the mix.

Creeping It Real (Magical Bureau of Investigation 2) by Albany Walker

https://amzn.to/3mNeP9A

Do dead men tell tales?

Before the ink is dry on my last case, I get pulled onto another, and away from what could be a new beginning with the guys.

The murder of a high-profile coven leader is being kept a secret, only his inner circle knows. Problem is, they just may be the reason he ended up with a femur through his heart. Add some necromancy into the mix and things are getting down right intriguing dangerous.

On top of the case, there’s also my very tricky love life that has a little too much in common with the dead man for my liking. I just hope our story doesn’t end with a bloody, broken heart like his did.

Bones are piling up, just like suspects. We need to solve this case before the death magic can target anyone else.

Creeping it Real is the second book in the Magical Bureau of Investigation series. This is a slow burn RH or whychoose novel with adult situations.

I was given this book by the author for an honest review

Wow one again Albany hits it outta the park. Frankie was sent on a case to figure out who killed a huge coven leader and then while she was there another similar scene in a cemetery and it just goes crazy from there. Once arriving at the hotel she calls her guys to let them know where she was, and that she didn’t know when she was going to be home due to the case. When they show up at the hotel Frankie can’t believe it but also she loves that they came to her. Percy once again is the best sidekick and the star of the book lol. But with the guys there and this case getting more and more crazy will Frankie be able to focus on what she needs to and get them all back home. Which when they get home and it don’t low down more drama is waiting for them right around the corner. This book is amazing I’m so ready for the third book Albany does an amazing job and I’m obsessed with her books.

Unfortunately, there are more suspects than mourners for the elderly town leader. Can Lily keep her less-than-human status under wraps? Or will the killer, who has pulled off a nearly Pit Perfect murder, expose her to keep Lily and her dog from digging up the truth?

Goodreads

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased the audio book with my credits.

Hello Pittie momma so of course I had to grab it.  Then when I saw the main character Lily is a shifter….uhm paranormal are my jam so yessssss score score score!!

I will admit I am not a giant mystery reader but I loved the format and the comedy of the story, so it hit me in the right spot.

Lily has been surrounded by sadness her whole life.  She leaves home to find a long-lost uncle she never knew existed.  Uncle/Cousin Buzz wasn’t so keen on keeping his niece/cousin in town buuut they start to bond.  If you wanna know the uncle/cousin and niece/cousin story line I guess you need to read the story.

Lily is wondering through town when a pit bull runs up and adopts her as her person.  Lily also meets her new friend, Smooshies, owner and smitten is a word you could use.  Parker is kind and gentle plus kinda hot for a human so when he is accused of murder……Lily can’t handle it and is off to use her paranormal powers to solve the case.  No offense but she really was an awful person in live…old Katherine. *Growls*

I really enjoyed the who-done-it and getting to meet the characters in the town.  I personally can’t wait to see Buzz settle down, but I really want to see Parker and Lily maybe *wiggles eyes* admit some feelings for one another.  But Parker’s dad was also the best ever.  Honestly other then the old bitty who died, I loved the town.  LOL

He’s also a suspect. One of many.

Goodreads

Review by Kelly

A provocative detective series set in the late 1800’s that won’t disappoint. Stiles has moved to the United States after being blackmailed for being a gay man in England. He never loses himself but rather reinvents himself. On the boat he forms a wonderful friendship with Lizzie and soon these two become the best of friends. Stiles eventually moves to St. Louis and becomes a Pinkerton Man. He has to go undercover for his first assignment to a brothel that caters to M/M. While investigating he gets attached to one of the gentlemen at the club. He ends up having one of the hottest nights of his life. Things take a turn for the worse. His “friend” ends up murdered. He takes this incredibly hard but has to move on. The silver lining is that Lizzie ends up popping back into his life. These two go on the road undercover together to solve another mystery. In true Stiles fashion, he ends up playing while working and grows rather fond of the foreman. Things really go crazy when Lizzie is kidnapped. Stiles could never live with himself if something happened to her. This is a rollercoaster of a story. I don’t normally read M/M books but the actual story is what keeps me going. I look forward to continuing their journey!

I bought this book and this my honest opinion

Five friends that all come from different walks of life but come together at camp every summer. One rule they have made is that they don’t talk about life at home, and they always come to campfire at the end of the evening before bed. Camp brought them together and they look out for each other, but keeping how they handle things back home a secret is harder then some of them thought will their friendships stay true as camp is almost over or will it keep them apart and wishing they never went to camp in the first place. This was such a fun teen story that made you wish you went to summer camp when you were younger or made you remember the times you went if you did.

I love a new type of book and to me this book sounded new and exciting. A mystery to find out about Rosa and what’s up.

Cassidy gets a weird letter with a weirder vibe from her distant, adoptive mom. When she goes to her apartment to get what her mom wants, she is attacked but soon saved by a hot stranger who happens to be Rosa’s neighbor.

Review by Twinsie Dee

I was giving this book by the author and this is my honest opinion

Jordan lives in a small town and doesn’t really hang out with too many people only because she has a huge secret that she’s never told she can shape-shift into a wolf. She’s never met anyone else that’s like her until a mother and daughter move into town. They become close and Jordan  discovered that the new girl can also shape-shift but instead of a wolf she shifts into a bobcat. So now Jordan has a friend and she couldn’t be happier, she had someone else who was like her and she didn’t feel so alone anymore. There are a lot of mystery things that are happening in this small town that Jordan and Georgia just can’t explain so they decided to investigate what they find will shock them both or will it?  This was a good read but a little rough for me to get into in the beginning just felt like it was all over the place in the first chapter but then got back on track in the next chapter. It was a very good and quick read.

J. Lawson was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa. She moved to Peoria, Illinois in 2008, where she currently resides with her husband, son, and two dogs. She graduated from Western Illinois University with a Master’s in English Literature. She has been published in multiple literary magazines, and The Amulets (book one in The Amulets Trilogy) is her debut novel. Lawson enjoys reading fantasy, thriller, mystery, and most varieties of fiction. She also loves 80s-90s rock music.

#review #seriesstarter #thriller The Dancing Girls (Detective Jo Fournier Book 1) by M.M. Chouinard

When Jeanine Hammond is found dead in a hotel in the picture-perfect town of Oakhust, newly-promoted Detective Jo Fournier is thrown into a disturbing case. Who would murder this shy, loving wife and leave her body posed like a ballerina?

Jo wants to know why Jeanine’s husband is so controlling about money, and where Jeanine’s wedding ring is, but before she and her team can get close to the truth, another woman is found strangled in a hotel, arms placed gracefully above her head like a dancer.

While digging through old case files, Jo makes a terrifying link to a series of cold cases: each victim bears the same strangulation marks. But the FBI won’t take Jo seriously, and if she disobeys direct orders by investigating the killings outside of her jurisdiction, it will mean the end of the career she’s already sacrificed so much for, even her relationship.

Just as Jo is beginning to lose hope, she finds messages on the victims’ computers that make her question whether these small-town women were hiding big lies. Jo thinks this is the missing link between the victims, but she knows the killer is moments away from selecting his next victim. Will it lead her to the most twisted killer of her career in time, or will another innocent life be lost?

I bought this book and this my honest opinion

Martin only had one thing on his mind the hunt and the kill, finding women who were married and wanting to cheat on their husbands. He despises those times of woman who did that, ever since  he was a child. Jo was a go forth til the case was solved but with everything in her life crashing and being forced to take vacation time she just wants to do what  she has to do and get the bad guy, especially after getting the call that a woman was found dead in a hotel room. The only real question is will she catch him or will Martin continue to kill to scratch his itch. This was an ok thriller very predictable in my opinion but still made you want to keep reading

Review by Twinsie Dee

M.M. Chouinard writes crime fiction (including suspense, procedurals, and cozies), and women’s fiction. M.M. Chouinard’s first fiction story was published in her local paper when she was eight, and she fell in love with Agatha Christie novels not long after. While pursuing a Ph.D in psychology and helping to found the first U.S. research university of the new millenium, the stories kept rattling around inside her skull, demanding to come out. For sanity’s sake, she released them
