In the Absence of Light came highly recommended from a friend. I read the synopsis, was very intrigued, so I borrowed it from Kindle Unlimited.

Grant moved to the little town of Durstrand, in the middle of nowhere, to try and hide out for a while. To kill a few years before moving on to the beach life he has always dreamed of. It seems the little town of Durstrand had more to offer than just a place to lay low for a while.

Morgan is severely autistic. He has many in town who love him and would do anything to protect him. It didn’t take long at all for Grant to notice there was something special about Morgan, something he couldn’t ignore no matter how hard he tried.

I just want to say; this book was not just a book, it was a work of art. It was beautiful, heartbreaking, and spellbinding. I was addicted to the words, the characters, the unique storyline. Everything! Every once in a while, you read something so profound- you want to tell everyone who will listen to READ THIS BOOK! At the same time you also want to complain to anyone who will listen about the 5 star rating system. Because for some books, that is not a proper rating system. In the Absence of Light is one of those books. I wanted to give it ALL THE STARS!!!

I am a writer of contemporary and speculative fiction and artist of all things monsters. I live to create new worlds and the people in them. While almost all my books have a romantic element, I will be the first to admit, they are not traditional romance. In fact, I’d like to think there is nothing traditional about them. And the stories I paint are done so way outside the lines of traditional genres.

One of my favorite things to do as a writer is push the boundaries of what makes a story and to deliver the unexpected and maybe even change the perspective of the reader.

My characters are more often than not, beautifully flawed, not alway the good guy, and make mistakes. Their stories will take dark turns which, in the end, make the light at the end of the tunnel all the more brighter.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

This is a tug at your heart story. Bailey has been through so much when she was younger. I was not a big fan of Bailey but I understand why she is the way she is. When Dex finds her he helps her open up an learn to live life to the fullest.

I enjoyed watching this relationship grow and see Bailey open up. I think Dex was perfect for Bailey. Even with everything Bailey went though sometime bad things come back and change your life forever. Bailey knows it could happen but still makes choice to live life.

As in most Duets, this leaves us wondering what will happen next. I hope it goes the way I think it should but we will see if I get my wish or if this goes in a totally different way.  I am so ready for the second book to see how it all ends.

Jett has just opened the tattoo shop on Cravenwood Block. Leighton has kind of just inserted himself if Jett’s life and if we’re being honest, Jett is starting to look forward to his morning visits from the flirty pretty boy, who smells of dark roast and cinnamon sunshine.

Any Given Lifetime had a very unique plot. I cannot say I’ve ever read anything quite like it. I realize this book is a work of fiction but it definitely left me thinking about the possibility of something like what happened to Neil, actually happening.

Neil and Joshua dated once upon a time but then there was a tragic accident and Neil did not survive.
Fast forward 20 years, Joshua is in his 40s now. He has loved and lost more than once. When a young scientist shows up in his life (one who shares an uncanny resemblance to his dead first love) Joshua thinks he might be losing his mind. I really can’t say I blamed him.

Any Given Lifetime is the first book I’ve read by Leta Blake. It is a story about love, loss, and then finding that love again in the next lifetime. Neil’s love for Joshua was unwavering. He dies, is born again, and remembers his love for Joshua from a past life. What then begins to unfold is one of the most epic love stories I have ever read. This was a beautiful, emotional, memorable read. I loved every single word. I will definitely be checking out her backlist!

Aidan is a recovering alcoholic suffering from PTSD after serving in the military. Rowan owns an antique store and dabbles in… other things, of which he is working on. They meet in a bar. That seems odd because Aiden is in recovery but you will soon find out the reason for this.

Oh lawd! First off, Rowan is flipping perfect. I love him. He is everything Aiden never knew he needed. He is dealing with his own stuff at the moment but the way he makes Aiden his priority so early on was just breathtaking, awe inspiring, all the adjectives that are synonymous with those words! Yeah, all those things. But the heart knows what the heart wants. Sometime it just takes a minute for the brain to catch up. I loved this book from the first page and the way J.M. Walker writes MM is also all those adjectives I mentioned above! This story gave me constant goosebumps.

Tempt Us is book 11 in the series. The final book in the series. I’m going to miss these kids. I’m going to miss looking forward to the next book in the series. But I know its time to move on. I feel like this series will be one I take with me and recommend to everyone forever. There’s something for every romance reader within the pages of these 11 books. You may even notice a familiar name mentioned A LOT in book 5. I would just like to point out that I have nothing to do with my evil namesake and her craziness. I wanted that villain to be tortured buuuut I digress. Lol…
Thank you J.M. for keeping me on the edge of my seat for that past few years with these kids. I can’t wait to see what your fabulous mind creates next.
