Mended by Emily Cyr

Marin has spent her life inexplicably feeling like a part of her very being was tattered. As a result, she has dedicated her life to restoring antique art and has become the best in her field.

However, a life of repairing broken paintings isn’t enough to fill the void within, and Marin finds herself on her first vacation ever. This was meant to be the trip where she could finally mend the part of herself that’s missing.

Hours after repairing an ancient tapestry at a quaint bed and breakfast, she grows incomprehensibly tired, and wakes up to realize she’s not in her room, with no memory of when or how she left. The strange night isn’t what worries Marin most, though – it’s the fact that she’s woken up as something far from human and has suddenly had her eyes opened to a world she couldn’t see before, one filled with witches, bear-shifters, and hunters.

Now, Marin must choose which life she wants. She can embrace her new self and finally feel whole, but will always be hunted by someone hell-bent on revenge. Or she can go back to the comfortable life she once knew, and be the downfall of an entire race. Only Marin can make the choice, before it’s too late.

One malicious kiss sends Snow tumbling into a sinister landscape of dark desires and a new manifestation that can save her or destroy everything she’s ever held dear.

Darkness can hide the most sultry of nights.

Gideon and his men guard the king, but even they can’t protect him from his murderous new bride. When the castle falls prey to the Queen’s ire, they find themselves under the spell of the moon. Kellan, Prince of the Fae Court, was tired and bored with things as they were until a young woman not only sparked his interest but his desire to finally claim a mate.

Two souls find in each other a connection unlike any other.

A chance encounter brought them together. A dream created a bond. Will the jealousy of one who was scorned tear them apart? Or will love’s kiss breathe life into a sleeping beauty?

Red by Tara Vasser

Seeking refuge, she flees to the woods where nothing is as it seems. There, she is drawn to a dangerous figure shrouded in secrecy. It is within the trees where Red will discover who is predator and who is prey.

Jess Haines

Time can change anyone’s story. Even mine.

Once upon a time, there was a forest with an enchanted lake whose waters brimmed with secrets…

There are many versions of my story. You may have heard that an evil wizard transformed a princess into a swan. Or perhaps the tale of a witch who turned a beautiful queen into a white duck to take her royal place at the side of the king. Or that a prince stole a woman’s veil to prevent her from transforming into a bird and flying away from him.

A little truth may be sprinkled in all these tales. I cannot speak for them all.

But this one is mine.

Twelve by Savannah Verte

This version of the Twelve Dancing Princesses twists what you thought you knew from your childhood fairy tales and shows what the good king was really worried about. It wasn’t dance slippers. There’s more dirty than a dance in this twisted tale.

When and Why did you start to write?

I’ve always been writing in some form or other… first as part of and then running a Star Trek writers group, then as a newspaper journalist, a role playing writers group and finally as a published author. #NewRelease #RH #Paranormal – The Arbiter: Divinely Damned Book One by KB Ladnier and Brandy Slaven

The Arbiter (Divinely Damned #1)

“She is too sinful to be Divine
and too righteous to be Damned.”

Nocturna; a hybrid, an all around smart ass, and the owner of The Apothecary, a night club for all the denizens that walk the earth to play amongst humans, is about to have her life altered by the Creator of all.

The last Arbiter has fallen and a new one must be chosen, one of both Divine and Damned blood. She will be both judge and executioner for the supernatural races, choosing how to punish or bless the souls brought before her.

Within her first week with her new status, Damned from all over are disappearing and disturbing videos of Damned being tortured and killed are surfacing. When Lord Monroe, one of The Infernal leaders of the Damned, becomes one of those who are missing, the Damned begin to point their fingers at The Rites; the Divine soldiers who are part of The Order of Abel. The clock is ticking, and it is her responsibility to find who is responsible and pass judgement. With the help of Enoch, an Infernal of the Damned, and Larkan, a Rite of the Order, Nocturna travels to Lord Monroe’s estate, hoping to find clues as to what happened to him and all the others.

Her integrity and her heart will be pushed and pulled in all directions as she faces the biggest dilemma of her existence; can she make the decision that is right for the lives of all, not the decision that is easiest for her. Will she stay true and lead the world into peace? Or will she choose sides like all the Arbiters before her and lead them all to destruction?

**This is a Reverse Harem Dark Romance that is recommended for ages 18+. There are elements of violence, such as torture and a body count, and steamy scenes that are sure to light you on fire. If you’re into that sort of thing, then boy do we have the book for you!

Goodreads

Brandy Slaven lives in Tennessee with her husband and two wild children. If you can’t find her typing away at her laptop, you will find her with her nose in a book at the beach or hiking at one of the state parks. Bringing her characters to life is one of her greatest accomplishments.

K.B. Ladnier is from a small city in Southern Mississippi. She has one daughter and three cats who she claims are stealing her soul in only tiny doses so she won’t notice. She is a cyborg and spends most of her time hiding from her tiny human so she doesn’t have to share her snacks as she reads her favorite books. She hates the beach yet lives only ten minutes away from it and daydreams of mountains and snow. She is married to a hot nerd and loves him dearly even though he hordes cookies and occasionally hides her prosthetic leg from her when she’s mad, so he can get a quick escape. She plans to write as long as people continue loving what she does, otherwise she’s going to say screw it and do her second dream of owning a coffee shop. Though, she may still do both.

I just hope my tattered heart can take it if he walks away again.
TORN and TATTERED are companion novellas to the Heart’s Compass series. You do NOT need to read the Heart’s Compass books in order to enjoy the Tattered Heart duet, however, it is highly recommended that you read Torn first.

“I loved this second chance romance and how both Ryan and Maverick have grown! Amazing duet and I can’t wait for more from this group of friends!” – Patricia, Words We Love By Blog

“What I really loved about this duet is that love does endure. Love does fight. And the heart, no matter how torn and tattered it was left, will be mended by the one that it calls for.” – Suzanne, Goodreads Reviewer

Brooke O’Brien is the author of the Heart’s Compass series. She recently released the second book of the Heart’s Compass series, Lost Before You.

Growing up Brooke always had a love of writing; she started out writing poetry when she was young and began journaling her thoughts as she grew older. Diving headfirst into a good book has always been therapeutic for her. Now her two passions have collided.

She believes you can cure any bad day with chocolate. Brooke enjoys going on long drives with no destination in mind. She’s found that’s when her characters talk to her the most! If she’s not reading or writing, you’ll probably find her spending time with her family, watching NBA basketball, going to the movies, or collecting signed paperbacks.

Conquered By the Alien Prince: An Alien Sci-Fi Romance (Luminar Masters Book 1)

Rebel West is Alexis Alvarez & Maria Monroe.  Both are attending authors for WOTR18.

A  filthy rich, ripped alpha who also happens to be royalty? Yes, please.

Only problem? He’s an alien.

When a confidential mission sends Doctor Emily Taylor to Luminar, her project is thrown in jeopardy and more than one life, including her own, is at risk.

The one constant? The alien prince and a scorching interplanetary rendezvous. But can their budding romance withstand the danger that threatens to tear them apart?

This is the first book in the Luminar Masters Series. The books are interconnected and can be read in any order.  No cheating and a guaranteed HEA!

Note: This book contains elements of dominance and submission. If you find such material offensive, please do not buy this book.

Goodreads

I received this book from the authors for an honest review.

Yes!! Sci-Fi Alien type books are like a treasure for me especially when they are a bit naughty *wink*.  When I saw Rebel was looking for a few ARC readers, I jumped because a hot alien who needs your help to save his brother seemed up my alley.

Cali is the best of the best on her field of science on Earth.  When she is hand picked to come to the alien planet to work on a top-secret project, she jumped.  She knew there was going to be a bit of danger because not all the aliens were thrilled to see HUMANS on their planet.  When she arrives and is told the hottie prince, who is always on the news, is HER personal Delegate….she is a hot flustered mess as any women would be.

Prince Lock is intrigued by Cali for her mind and spirit.  He is fascinated by her optimistic mind and will to work on the project of helping his sick brother.  The one thing Lock has issue with is her WILLFUL disobedience…..Snickers….

Cali and Lock are trying to work together to figure out what is happening with his brother when the sparks FLY and the chemistry between the two is super-hot.  When Cali soon discovers what the problem is…well yeah things go haywire.

The secrets are spilled and then the two must make some decisions about a possible life together.

I totally enjoyed this book.  I sat and read it in one sitting.  Cali is feisty and sassy while Lock is dominating and yummy.  The two have great understanding and compassion for their planets plus they really do what to find a balance between their two worlds.  I would love to read more in the series for sure!!!  I am curious about Willow and her Commander….need to go check the rest of this authors books on goodreads.

Rebel West is a team of writing sisters: Alexis Alvarez, Maria Monroe and Adrienne Perry.

As Rebel, the sisters create futuristic sci-fi stories set on the planet Luminar. Their aliens are handsome and well-endowed, with ripped abs, midnight blue eyes, and a dominant streak that will leave you breathless.

You can find each of the three sisters on Facebook, or on their website, Graffiti Fiction.

As Rebel West, Alexis Alvarez co-writes the Zandian Brides reverse harem series with Renee Rose.

#WOTR18 #NewRelease #Review – Earl of Harrington (Wicked Earls’ Club #12, Bluestockings Defying Rogues 1) by Dawn Brower

Earl of Harrington (Bluestockings Defying Rogues 1)

Jonas Parker, the Earl of Harrington has no desire to marry. He rather enjoys being unencumbered and a wife would complicate things. The Wicked Earls’ Club is his haven and he isn’t ready to give it up for matrimony. His grandfather, the Duke of Southington wants nothing more than to see him wed and return to the fold. For that reason alone he’ll avoid proper ladies and wedding bells.

Lady Marian Lindsay rather likes being a spinster and embraces her bluestocking ways. She studying to be a physician and wants to be a proper doctor. She longs to be taken seriously in the medical field, but her efforts go unnoticed. After careful deliberation she devises a scheme that is foolproof, but she needs the help of one of her father’s friends to make it happen.

Harrington is appalled at Marian’s request and refuses outright; however, she somehow manages to charm him into saying yes. Before he realizes it he’s escorting her to Kent and a house party made of his worst nightmares. Propriety must be met at all costs, because he will not be wed at the end of her expedition–or will he?

Goodreads

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Jonas and Marian!! What a fun couple to read.  I must admit I was just as taken by all the side characters and revisiting characters from Dawn’s other series that this book FLEW when I read it.

Marian is so strong willed and so NOT your typical Ton chit.  She is not looking for a husband and is quite happy that people already consider her a spinster in the making.

Jonas loves his live as a rake.  He is very happy to spend his time gambling with friends or snuggled with a loose skirted woman then look for love.  He will not make his grandfather happy and find a wife to carry on the Duke’s title.

Jonas and Marian are hilarious with the banter they have. She cannot stand him, or can she?  He loves to flirt just to get under her skin or is it because she is under his skin??

The couple end up spending the weekend at a Garden Picnic when they are confronted with their feelings.  Of course, Jonas makes a move and then breaks Marian’s heart.  Stupid man!  But when Marian is in desperate need of protection, Jones realizes his love for her overrides his fear of marriage, title, and duty!!

I cannot wait to read more from Dawn’s new series.  This book is a series starter as well as part of the Wicked Earl’s Club .  I am dying to see the other ladies find love and the other men as well.

USA Today Bestselling author, DAWN BROWER writes both historical and contemporary romance. There are always stories inside her head; she just never thought she could make them come to life. That creativity has finally found an outlet.

Growing up she was the only girl out of six children. She is a single mother of two teenage boys; there is never a dull moment in her life. Reading books is her favorite hobby and she loves all genres.

Growing up she was the only girl out of six children. She is a single mother of two teenage boys; there is never a dull moment in her life. Reading books is her favorite hobby and she loves all genres.

When and Why did you start to write?

Fall of 2013. I started to write because my stepsister dared me to. I’ve been a writing fiend ever since.

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

I read things across all genres. I have a deep appreciation for the written word. Recently I just finished reading The Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy series (well the two books that are currently available.) by Hailey Edwards. The way she strings words together is pure magic–like brushstrokes that paint a picture in your imagination. If you like urban fantasy you should definitely check out her work.

I also love Ilona Andrews, Kresley Cole, Nalini Singh and Sherrilyn Kenyon. My go-to authors in historical are Tessa Dare, Julia Quinn, and Johanna Lindsay. Contemporary I like Jaci Burton, Avery Flynn, and Carrie Ann Ryan to name a few.

I have almost everything Lexi Blake has written in audiobook–but I haven’t had time to listen to them. A good friend of mine loves her and I plan on giving her a go next. At least before RT in Reno because I’m sitting on a panel with her and I’d like know something about her work before then, lol.

Basically I read anything…

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

That I can still do it. Each time I sit down to start a new book I think that I can’t possibly finish a whole book, and yet, I do. It amazes me each and every time.

What are you working on now?

I just finished writing Earl of Harrington and sent it off to my editor. It’s part of this huge coordinated release with 11 other authors. The series is The Wicked Earls’ Club. Next I’m writing the final Heart’s Intent book which will release early summer.

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

#NewRelease #Review #TwinsieForTheDayBecky – Controlling Disgrace by Anna Edwards

Controlling Disgrace

Colette Fisher is the woman who was responsible for James North’s beating so we should hate her, yes? As with all of the Control Series all is not what it seems though.

She’s suffered oppression for many years; she’s ashamed of her sexual desires and fears what will happen if she embraces them. Can Michael give her the strength she needs to be the woman she was born she aspires to?

Michael is mourning the loss of his wife of ten years after tragedy struck. They were childhood sweethearts, and he doesn’t know if he’ll ever be able to move forward with his life. That is until he meets Colette.

Controlling Shame is a short novella from the author Anna Edwards; it completes a story that has been over a year in the making and will lay a massive ghost to rest. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Step into a world of Control!

Goodreads

Review by Becky

I was given a copy of the book for an honest review.

When I first read about how Colette started the fury that unleashed on James, I didn’t know what she has said that was so bad that her brothers would cause the harm to James that they did.  The Prologue was perfect to explain what really happened.  Colette’s shame was the pleasure and enjoyment of the physical connection with James.  She felt loved with his gifts.  Her shame came from the ignorance of her brothers from their brain-washing of the couple that took them in and off the streets. Colette was harmed by her brothers.  My heart ached for everything Colette went through.

When Colette was hospitalized, the efforts of James and Amy put Michael in Colette’s life.  He willingly agreed to answer any and all Colette’s questions on the BDSM lifestyle to help her heal.  Michael and Colette fit together and helped each other heal.  This is a beautiful story.

Being a novella, this was a quick read yet one you wouldn’t want to miss because it filled the Colette gap.  Now, who the hell is Ryan??? LOL!!!  I’m waiting!!!! 🙂

Ok, this is the bit where I have to sell myself. Why is it so much easier to write about sexy blokes! Anyway.

I am a British author, from the depths of the rural countryside near London. In a previous life, I was an Accountant from the age of twenty-one. I still do that on occasions, but most of my life is now spent intermingling writing while looking after my husband, two children and two cats (probably in the inverse order to the one listed!). When I have some spare time I can also be found writing poetry, baking cakes (and eating them), or behind a camera snapping like a mad paparazzi.

In 2015 I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. It was also around this time that I became one of the founding members of a dramatic/erotic/dark roleplaying group on Twitter. It was wildly popular with both English and American followers. The writing helped me to overcome my depression by giving me an outlet to channel my thoughts into and not sit around worrying all day about things that would never happen. I took over responsibility for management of the group and responsibility for the development of our storylines. As well as playing at least ten different characters in the group ranging from an innocent virgin, bloodthirsty assassin and even a male lover. The success of the role-play spurred me on to writing novels.

I have a love of travelling and like to bring this to my stories to give them the air of reality. Surrendered Control, my first book released in November 2016, combines two of my favourite travel destinations. India is where I lived for eighteen months with my husband and two children. My young son was only six months old when we travelled there. It was a fabulous time for us all and they learnt so much about the differing cultures, as well as, much to my husband’s chagrin, spending lots of money in the silk shops. The Control series will feature lots of international travel.

I have always been an avid reader. Mainly murder mystery in the past but with Beautiful Bastard I discovered a whole new set of novels and I haven’t looked back since. I like my hero’s hot and hunky with a dirty mouth. My heroines demur but with spunk. And my books in a kick arse series.

#WOTR18 #AuthorSpotlight – Attending Author Amy Hale @AuthorAmyHale

Amy Hale

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

My name is Amy Hale and I’m the mother of two amazing young adults who bring so much joy to my life. I’ve been happily married to the love of my life for almost 27 years. We currently reside in Illinois and are owned by one very self-absorbed cat named Jasmine. My husband and I are motorcycle enthusiasts and love to ride in our spare time. When we aren’t on the open road we enjoy watching Mystery Science Theatre 3000, spending time with the kids, and daydreaming about taking a seaside vacation.

When and Why did you start to write?

I’ve been making up stories and poems since childhood. I started writing professionally in 2003. I worked for various online magazines and websites in the health and diet industry. I also had a popular blog on similar health topics. I moved to writing fiction in 2014, with my first book debuting in January of 2015. Writing heartfelt and exciting stories for a living has been a lifelong dream of mine. I’ve always loved the way the written word can bring the imagination to life.

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

Just a few of my one-click authors include Julia Quinn, Denise Grover Swank, Eric Asher, Jamie McGuire, & Colleen Hoover.

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

I’m always surprised at how a story will take on a life of its own as you write. You can plot it all out and then suddenly a character or situation changes things and you’re being pulled into a totally new direction. I’m often as surprised by the twists and turns as my readers are.

What are you working on now?

I’m currently working on my latest Havenwood Falls NA novella titled Flames Among the Frost.

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

I’m a plantser – I do both. I start my stories with a beginning and ending in mind. Then I pants it for a while until I get a feel for how the story will progress. As I near the middle I start plotting out the general ideas for each chapter to assure I’m staying on track. I really like letting the characters lead the way, but it helps to have some organization too.

At first sight, he’d thought it was just another homeless person to shoo away from the building. Instead, he found someone who needed help—his help.

Having been given a second chance himself, Finn believes in paying it forward. The Hangover has taken more than one lost soul in over the years.

Bailey Parson needed to get away. She left her life in Chicago behind and escaped to St. Paul, but she never once thought far enough ahead to what her next step would be when she arrived there. To her, what she was running from, was much more to worry about than some half-baked plan. After a month stuck on the streets, a new need arises as the temperature started to drop—survival.

Given a chance by a stranger, Bailey works to find her way. Not only winning over customers and the staff with her smart wit and empathy, she wins over the standoffish tattoo artist.

Keeping their relationship forward focused, Finn hoped to avoid both of their baggage. However, when Bailey’s past threatens to destroy everything they built together, Finn’s left with decisions to make. Does he give up the beautiful curvy woman, the only one whose touch calms him? How much of his dark past would he need to unlock to save her? A past with the potential to destroy what they have together.

More importantly, can the lovers turn the scars of the past into a design strong enough to see them through any challenge? Or will the permanent ink leave them with open wounds and no chance of healing?

“What’s that place like?”

“Loud tonight,” he replied. “You’ve never been?”

“No,” she shook her head a bit surprised he wasn’t catching on she was homeless.

“I’m Finn.” He extended his hand like she was a human being. The simple contact warmed her.

“Jane,” she said not wanting to let go of his warm hand, but knew she had to. “You a bartender?”

“Nah, they don’t really get breaks. I’m with the tattoo parlor.”

She finally paid attention to the sign on the back of the door that said Permanent Hangover. A whiskey bottle with two tattoo guns on either side reminded her of angel wings.

“What is this place?”

“Bar, club, whatever you want to call it with a few chairs for tattooing.” He cleared his throat. “So, Jane, I don’t suppose the last name is Doe?”

“Yes, are you psychic? Only I spell it the French way.”

“D-O-U-G-H,” he said, and she let out a laugh. “Jayne with a Y?”

“Exactly.” She stuffed her hand into the pouch of her sweatshirt. A cash business would be good. Waitressing at a place could get her some much-needed funds and if nothing else Bailey knew how to flirt. “Any chance they need a waitress? I know I don’t look like much, but I clean up pretty good.”

“I can see that,” he said as he approached her. Holding her ground, she fought the urge to flee. It was then the single light at the edge of the alley seemed far away. The exits, too. Now trapped, she wondered if she’d set herself up for an assault. Instead, he lifted the lid to the trash bin and tossed his empty can of Smash.

“You ever waitress before?”

“No, but I’ve worked in customer service.” Being an escort wasn’t exactly a resume builder. “Not for—I’ve never had a job really.”

“Garage sale maven?” he questioned.

“Are you sure you’re not my stalker?”
