Maverick Montgomery lives in the Midwest with his wife of nine years and their three partners-in-crime, his two dogs, Austen and Ava, and cat, Jude. Considered a self-proclaimed gamer nerd who was holding a game controller long before he picked up a pen. a gear head at heart who can’t resist drooling over any vehicle whether it be classic or modern, Maverick grew up immersed in classic Alfred Hitchcock films, fueling his lifelong fascination with suspense and crime thrillers.

When he’s not writing, Maverick can be found tinkering with cars or dreaming of his next project, usually no more five in his mind at once or he can be hiding out in his man cave surrounded by comic books, stacks of video games, and story ideas waiting to be unleashed. Equal parts snark and grit, he pulls his inspiration from Dick Tracy and Punisher comics, or indulging his wife’s latest project antics while figuring out ways to avoid admitting she’s right.

#WOTR26 #Novella #Holiday – Pumpkin to Talk About by Allie Sambert

Mike Page fled Ironwood Flats, Texas the moment he tossed his high school cap in the air and never looked back. But when his little sister, Annie, is suddenly left raising two kids on her own, one desperate call brings him right back to the one place he swore he’d never return. Now, stuck playing uncle, Mike’s in for more than he bargained for, especially since it means surviving the town’s infamous Halloween celebrations—his personal nightmare.

Belle Allen has always been a bit eclectic. As Ironwood Elementary’s quirky part-time librarian by day and bartender by night, she has finally found her rhythm. That is, until Mike, her high school nemesis, walks into the bar bringing painful memories back with him.

Old wounds run deep, but so do new sparks when they keep bumping into each other. As they’re pulled together by chance encounters and unexpected chemistry, Mike and Belle realize they’re not the same people they were in high school. But just as they start falling harder than autumn leaves, reality hits—Mike’s heading back to Indiana after Halloween.

Can they admit they’re bewitched with each other? Or will the spell of their romance be broken?

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased this book.

I was looking for a short and quick read.  It was getting close to fall so I grabbed this audio.  The narration did a great job for me when listening to it.

The story was a short enemies to lovers book.  Belle is not about to fall for the hot shot who left town and is now back.  She is unhappy when she needs his help to help the kids in the school.

Mike is stunned that Belle is still as beautiful and cant believe that an idiot he was in high school.  He was so worried about being important he messed up.  Now he is helping her he will make sure not to repeat the past mistakes.

#Review – Don’t Hex and Drive: Opposites Attract Vampire Romance (Stay a Spell Book 2) by Juliette Cross

Notoriously bad at peopling, Isadora Savoie spends most of her time in the greenhouse or at the local animal shelter, using her Conduit powers of growth and healing. Content to remain in the background of the Savoie sister shenanigans, she’s reluctantly roped into the mystery of missing neighborhood girls.

Now, she’s partnered with a flashy, flirty vampire to find them before it’s too late. Devraj Kumar has seen and done it all. Three hundred years roaming the earth as a Stygorn—a legendary vampire warrior who operates in the shadows—has its perks. But ennui has set in. That is, until he has a run-in—literally—with an intriguing witch while on a new assignment in New Orleans.

Fascinated by her resistance to his charms, Devraj can’t help but push her buttons in an effort to get to know the shy witch. Fortunately for him, she’s been recruited by the Lord of Vampires to assist Devraj on the case. Between a Bollywood marathon, supernatural dating app, secret package, and sexy driving instruction, Isadora is in over her head. And Devraj? After just one taste, he’s playing for keeps.

This series is so much fun and I only just finished book 2. I can’t wait for the others and I’m dying to read about Jules and Reuben. There’s some unfinished business there and I really really need them to get down to it and just give me all the steamy scenes.

Back to this book. Devraj is so dreamy and Isadora agrees. She’s smitten but he falls way harder and faster first. She hesitates because all she sees when she looks at him, is a movie star and a vampire who travels for work. But he’s so much more than that and she doesn’t realize that he wants to settle down. With her.

This book is sweet, funny and oh so steamy. It has some suspenseful moments thanx to some douche bag vampires and missing girls.

I really liked this one and can’t wait to read book 3. I believe Juliette has started writing the second generation already, so I really need to read faster and catch up.
