Excerpt
Tonight proved our love is stronger than anything—the feelings and emotions all real.
The only light in the room is the burning fireplace, crackling across the way from the bed. I watch the orange and yellow flames mesh, regaining my bearings. Shay’s warmth on top of my chest is welcoming, helping me relax. I notice she’s been silent for a few minutes, and when I look down I’m met by her sleeping form.
Everything that has happened in the past twenty-four hours wore my girl out. But I’m more than happy just sitting here listening to her light breathing as she sleeps. She looks beautiful, like nothing in this world could disturb her. I want this moment to last forever. I want my time with her to last far past the time we are given here on earth. I don’t know if I believe in eternity, but she sure makes me hopeful that there will be one. She makes me feel like the day I was born only half of me entered the world while the other half of me waited with her and the day we met was the day I became complete again.
Lightly, I move the backside of my fingers down her cheek, and when my thumb makes it to her lips I graze the round edges. Remembering the way she kissed me back when I took away her virginity. Looking at her now, I feel a sense of completion. I’m not only falling, but in essence, also surrendering my heart, soul, and body for the chance to love someone.
This is the moment that changes a boy into a man. The moment one falls in love. Not only am I responsible for loving this woman, but I’m also now in charge of protecting her heart and honoring any promise I give her from here on out.
For women, virginity is the one thing that they give to someone that they’ve fallen in love with. Well, most women. The one thing they give away as a symbol of their love and commitment to their partner. But what virginity is to women, is what a heart is to a man. We save that shit with us until the right woman comes along to claim it. That’s when we then give it away, without a second thought or regret. Shayla took my heart, and I will never be able to get it back.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Her voice is soft and laced in a sleepy rasp.
“You look beautiful when you sleep.”
She searches my eyes, seeing if I’m lying or hiding anything from her. Letting her gaze falter for a second she moves on, accepting my answer. She stretches before placing her head back on her spot above my heart.

Disappearing without a word, Eden Richardt fled from her naïve former life in Oregon to start anew in the Midwest. Being a morning radio show host, she’s got a lot going for her except finding someone to share her life with. In that aspect, no one seemed to compare to the one. Having absolutely no desire to step foot back in her hometown of Cottage Grove, her decision was swayed with an invitation to her high school reunion and solidified after receiving a letter from her first and only love from her past.
Living his life the best way he knows how, Baylor Jenkins spends his time running the family plumbing business, after giving up his dream to be an Architect, and raising his almost teenage daughter solely without the help of his ex-wife. In the back of his mind he knows something was missing from his otherwise enjoyable life. But that something was actually a someone who disappeared after graduation; a former best friend turned lover.
Locking eyes after fifteen long years raises deep emotions and unanswered questions:
What happened to make Eden run?
Could their love for each other still exist?
Or will their past time together be nothing more than a memory?
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Ohhhhh 2nd chance romance…so sweet. I am really draw to those stores because doesn’t every one wonder at one point in their life about a lost love????
Eden loved her best friend Baylor for as long as she can remember. Too bad he never saw her that way. Or did he? On graduation night when love is on the cusp for our characters, Eden runs away?? WHAT!! It takes 15 years for her to return and face the past that she left all those years ago.
Eden is bound to face her past and see why it took Baylor 15 years to email her. Baylor is stunned stupid when he sees the love of his life but can’t believe she actually came to the school reunion. Dean, the couples last partner or third of the musketeers, is there to help the couple navigate through everything to find a way back to the other. When the reason for the big miscommunication is revealed…smh…someone was gonna get a big old throat punch for causing drama.
When Eden and Baylor rebound from the past and look to the future they are both scared to question it. She has to go home to Tennessee and he has to stay in Oregon. Again our couple is so scared that they don’t talk and so again heart ache happens but this time Baylor will not give up without a fight.
I am so freaking excited for book 2 because Dean will killing me in this book. He is so sweet and he loved Eden just as much as Baylor. I want him to find his true love and I guarantee a certain bestie hairdresser will give him a good run for his money!!!

The Promise
A promise made to comfort a patient on his deathbed sends the retired army officer Dr. Whitten M.D. on an excursion into the darkest worlds of pornography.
It was the doctor who made the promise but it is the man who must honor it. A God fearing gentle man, a family man, a widowed and lonely man deep in his middle years. Layer by layer his years fall away as love and fate, the promise and the affair draw him ever deeper until he once again feels like the elite soldier of his youth facing an evil more vile than any contested in open combat.
With a boot between his heart and the horror Carl Whitten honors his promise. Accompanied by a beautiful escapee from the realms of sex as cinema he learns the suffering on a battlefield barely compares to the misery found where love falls victim to lust, where lust turns to bloodlust for those who still know love.

Daughters
Dear Dr. Ranik:
I am writing to you because you helped my mother Mrs. Beverly Kendall and she speaks highly of you.
I am enclosing a copy of a document I stumbled across while on a friend’s computer. I opened the file because my name was part of the file name. When I first read the file I was quite disturbed and confused, which I’m sure you’ll understand when you have read what I found. I have read it several times now, with my feelings under better control since I knew what to expect. The facts in the story do not contradict what little I know of Mother’s early life and the dates would seem to be right. If you would be so kind, would you please read this and advise me on how I should proceed from here? Should I confront my parents with this, or seek counseling, or just file what I found as strange but maybe true and go on?

A bit about me…
I’ve been hooked on books since I was a kid but it got worse in my twenties, when I discovered romances–the hotter, the better. Growing up in Southern California, with lots of surfer manliness surrounded me, was certainly a good boost for reading about delicious alpha guys and the women who adore them. When I learned I had a knack for telling these stories too, I guess you could say I was doomed–though my path toward romance novelist took a few detours via a concert-reviewing gig for my college newspaper (free show tickets…backstage passes…that was a no-brainer), artist interviews for a Beverly Hills dance music mag, personal assistant work for a record producer, dance club disc jockey, and a lot of fun in the hospitality industry.
These days, I still live in California, and have found an amazing alpha guy of my own who was brave enough to marry me. We live on a street that looks like Brigadoon, with our beautiful daughter. I have the best life ever, and never forget to thank the Big Guy Upstairs for it, either.
Ophelia Donovan wants to move past the loves of her life, two badass bikers in her brother’s MC. When she gave Cash “Ghost” McCall and Louis “Stretch” King, an ultimatum of bringing their relationship out in the open or she’d walk, they chose separation. It crushed Ophelia’s dreams of having a happily-ever-after and family with Ghost and Stretch.
Stretch lives with guilt and pain from the death of his former lover and the injuries he received the same night. For a while, Cash and Stretch worked fine. They’d agreed to choose a woman together to bring into their relationship. Instead, Cash brought Outlaw’s sister in, intending to use her as a shield for Cash’s growing feelings for both Stretch and Fee. The dissolution of their relationship because of Fee’s goading leaves Stretch angry with both of his lovers.
Ghost doesn’t do relationships. He doesn’t have the confidence in himself that he’s equipped for something meaningful. He only knows he loves both Stretch and Ophelia. She wants kids, a house with him and Stretch, and, most of all, an open relationship with them, so open she expects Ghost to go to her brother—his club’s president—and confess all. Even if he did do commitment, he wouldn’t be alive to see it through. Outlaw would kill Ghost, especially after already warning him away. Thanks to Cash’s outrageous plan to throw Outlaw off, he raises the man’s suspicions instead.
Christopher “Outlaw” Caldwell knows Ghost is about fun and fucking. He’s in charge of the Bobs, those women trotted out for pleasure at special club occasions. Outlaw’s little sister wants a family and he refuses to allow her to waste her years on a man who’ll walk away in the end. Outlaw’s life has been quiet recently, with every known club threat removed, giving him plenty of time to focus on family.
A biker from a rival club uses Ophelia to get on Outlaw’s good side, leaving her gravely injured, Outlaw in jail, Stretch admitting how important both she and Cash are to him, and Cash determined to never deny his love again.
Warning: Not suitable for anyone under 18. Contains excessive swearing, graphic sex between MMF, taboo subjects, and…Kendall at her finest.
“Daphne, fuck, don’t fucking do this. You’re wrong about Meggie and Fee is caught up in this.”
Folding her arms, Daphne scowled.
Cash cursed his stupidity. She’d have no sympathy for Fee.
“That fucking matters to me how?”
“Whatever you believe about Meggie, what has Fee ever done to you?”
“Other than get you?”
“Don’t say that bullshit! Ophelia doesn’t have me. Outlaw has barred me from having anything to do with her.”
“That didn’t stop you, did it? So she has you.”
Thinking of this weekend, Cash knew Daphne was right. Something had changed between all three of them. A new dynamic that Cash had to fight.
“Fee doesn’t deserve to have her brother turn against her because you want money and Kendall wants a fucking job.”
Instead of responding, Daphne leaned back and peeped at him through her lashes, roaming her hands down his back. “Why are we arguing?”
Her touch added to his pain and he grimaced, jerking away. “Why are we arguing? Why don’t I just blow you the fuck away and save Outlaw the trouble?”
Daphne tensed, fear sliding into her face. “You’d kill me for helping Kendall take a page from your book? Granted, she’s been paying me to fuck with Meggie, here and there. But she’s using your diversionary tactics. Your games gave Kendall this idea.”
The woman twisted anything to benefit herself. “Let me guess,” Cash said tightly. “You told her what I did?”
“Naturally.”
Kendall wanted seven days. He’d been furious that Fee’d allowed herself to be blackmailed, but Cash understood the position she’d found herself in.
He could kill Daphne, but they rarely killed women. While he was concerned about Meggie, his main priority was Fee. Any action on his part might give Kendall unnecessary ammunition. Outlaw casting Fee aside due to poor judgment would devastate her.
Sick to his stomach, he got to his feet. He’d been so fucking arrogant and disrespectful. Now, the shit was coming back to bite him in the ass. The next seven days would be unbearable but he had no one to blame but himself. He couldn’t even blame Kendall.
His antics left him with two choices: Confess all to spare Outlaw drama with Meggie, and forfeit his own life, not to mention Stretch’s, Kendall’s, and Daphne’s, while also ruining Fee’s relationship with her brother. Or, allow it all to go down, knowing Meggie had already gotten upset over Daphne.
Whichever he decided, he hoped he came out alive after his bad judgment started a chain of bullshit that spiraled out-of-control.

I’m forty, flabby, and frustrated. Don’t get me wrong, I have a good home, a decent job, and great children. I had a loving marriage for twenty years where we had our ups and downs. It wasn’t perfect; but it wasn’t awful. Then he died. After the grief took its course, and the reality of my life set in, I grew frustrated. It wasn’t the bills or the struggle to keep my interest in my work. It was life without a man – the only man I’d been with for twenty years. And before you go all feminist on me, it isn’t that I can’t be an independent woman, but there are certain areas where a man is necessary.
You need a fuck buddy, my friend said.
I didn’t even know what that meant.
Is it friends with benefits?, I asked.
Better, you don’t even have to be friends, she offered.
Boy, did I need an education in the modern workings of dating, and sex.

A coming-of-an-older-age novel.
Something new from L.B. Dunbar — a stand alone!
L.B. Dunbar loves the original legend of King Arthur. Inspired by this classic tale, she pulled over to the side of the road to take notes when it hit her that if King Arthur lived today, he’d be a rock star. A lover of fairy tales, myths, legends, and anything with happily ever after, she loves to read and write contemporary romance. Her Legendary Rock Stars series is complete with the final tale: The Trials of Guinevere DeGrance, but the story began with The Legend of Arturo King. She also wrote The Sensations Collection, which includes five stand alones based on the five senses in a small town setting near Lake Michigan. Raised on one side of that lake, she grew up in Michigan, but now lives on the other side, in Chicago. Mother to four, wife to the one and only, and teacher to hundreds of former students, she looks forward to sharing more stories in the future.
Manchester Marauders offensive lineman Jason Stafford has everything going for him until he is blindsided by a calculating woman who names him as the father of her unborn child. Unsure of the validity of her claim, he treads carefully, despite being willing to accept responsibility.
Maude Killion, the younger sister of one of Jason’s teammates, has been sidelined by a crush on Jason. Determined to revise her game plan, Maude asserts her independence from her overprotective brother and a controlling boyfriend.
While working on a charity project, Maude and Jason discover they play well together. But when Maude becomes the victim of a malicious foe, it appears that another player has entered the game—one with deadly intentions who will stop at nothing to win.
Now, Maude and Jason must join forces to defeat their opponent and score a victory for love.
Barely able to keep up with his long strides, Maude followed him down the corridor to an old gym. No overhead lights, along with the gray skies, kept the room dark.
Which might have been a good thing, because her mind blanked the moment Jason shoved her against the wall and kissed her.
In shock, she took a moment to catch up with his hungry lips before shoving against his chest. “What are you doing? What is this?”
He smiled his wicked playboy smile and drew her lower body against his own. “Gratitude.”
“Gratitude for what?” Maude drew a deep breath, fighting past whatever blocked her throat and caused her heart to thunder.
He tucked her hair behind her ear. “For listening to me the other night.”
“I didn’t mind. I don’t want gratitude from you. I want…I don’t know, because I can’t believe this is real. You kissing me isn’t doing anything but confusing me.” She stepped out of his arms. “Plus, you came with Ariel.”
“I didn’t leave with her.”
“Oh, that’s a great line, one I’m sure you’ve used often, but with me…no. Just no. I don’t do lines, and I don’t do grateful kisses.”
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
EEEP!! When we first meet Maude we can SEE her massive crush on her brother’s team mate, Jason. We can KINDA see he likes her but is it for the ego stroke or more?? I loved watching their banter back and forth which also hid some fireworks both were letting off.
Jason is a PLAYER!! I mean to the 100th degree. He is with a different girl every day and even two in a day. He is happy with his life and his “take it or leave it but I don’t go back for 2nd” life. His life hits a snag when his “hit it and quit it” regular Ariel says she is preggo. This puts Jason in a tail spin and he starts to prioritize his life.
Maude is all career woman now. She is taking steps away from her crush of Jason by dating, unsuccefully, Brady. She is going to move on with her life and let her desire for him go since he is never going to see her as more than just Owen’s little sister. When she comes home from the beginning of the ending for her and Brady she sits and talks with Jason. He spills his life drama to the one woman who won’t judge. This is the one woman who loves him no matter what. This is the one woman who will be and has been his rock. It all clicks together for Jason…he needs Maude. PERIOD.
Jason and Maude begin to navigate dating while dealing with Owen, her big over protective brother AND Ariel, Jason’s baby mama, PLUS Maude’s ex Brady. But when “things” begin to happen to Maude, plus Jason’s family crisis’ get worse, they both are spinning. They don’t know what to do except hold on tighter to each other!!
The one thing I love about these books are the theme of family but I also love the suspense/mystery of the novels. The “who done it” of the books are always great reads. I am super excited for the next book because I am dying to know who Clayton is falling for!!

I’m not sure what the author did while writing this novel, but OH.EM.GEE. she certainly NAILED it. Now, I’ve LOVED all her other books, but this one….this one was just so much better!! WOW! I was HOOKED and I seriously could not put this book down. The story line had more depth, more emotion…GAH! I don’t know quite how to explain it, but this book was just EPIC.
Ashton was DELICIOUS and Kinsley was a strong heroine. I loved how despite Ash being an alpha male, he knew how to treat and love Kinsley, especially after everything she had been through. I loved seeing her character grow and come out of her shell alongside Ashton. It was truly heart-warming.
The plot had angst-driven scenes, hot and passionate moments, and some humor too (LOVED LEX!). Ashton’s brothers we SO DAMN SEXY TOO, I cannot help but feel all kinds of excited to see what Ms. Harms has up her sleeves for this series.
FIVE MUST-READ STARS
