My name is Daisy Lennox.
Life has been on the fast track to hell for me lately. Between my fiancé cheating on me just weeks before walking down the aisle, and my career as an author going down the drain from lack of inspiration; I’m a hot mess. When it starts to feel like nothing will look up, my best friend Hannah comes to the rescue with a vacation in mind. One that involves leaving the city life of Chicago, for a more secluded one in a small town called White Hemlock in British Columbia, Canada. I thought nothing could bring back my inspiration to write, or my ability to feel so strongly for someone again.
That is, until I met him…
My name is Bastian Urso.
I’m not completely human and my life has been a mess for as long as I can remember. My wife was taken away from me by hunters for being what we are, leaving not only a gaping hole in my heart, but also leaving me to raise our daughter Addylin alone. We left our home in Alaska not long after for this secluded city called White Hemlock for a fresh start. Here, we found the peace we needed to move on with life, Addy being the only thing holding me together. But the pain and bitter loneliness of losing my wife only seemed to get worse with every passing day.
That is, until I met her…
Two people. Two different worlds. More than two hearts at stake. Daisy and Bastian are polar opposites in almost every way, but one; loving each other more than they feel they deserve to.
***This is a standalone novel and is recommended for ages 16+ due to language and some sexual situations***
I sat and read this book cover to cover this morning. After reading it I had so many things to think about because there was something so new and fresh FOR ME an avid PNR reader that I needed to wrap my head around.
One of the main things that I liked about this story was that Bastian, the main character/shifter hero, wasn’t the over the top alpha like most shifter books. There wasn’t this MINE mentality. He was a sweet guy who loves his daughter and is protecting her at any cost. Does he have the Uber Alpha in him, heck yes but he is so concerned for his daughter he puts his desires/wants on hold for her safety. I liked this “sweet” guy. Which again kinda blew me away because if you read any other books by KB her guys are not SWEET *Snickers* far far from sweet.
I liked the fact our heroine is a bit lost in her own skin. She feels a bit out of place everywhere except for this small, sleepy town in Canada. I loved seeing her change and grow in this novel. She is hiding from life and her past but slowly through the love she is feeling toward Bastain she becomes confident and bolder in her wants/needs/desires.
I enjoyed the novel and the ending of the story was sweet. I mean this book was just sweet and I absolutely loved it. Again, as a fan on KB, sweet is not normally what you get…naughty is what you expect so this book was super surprising to me in the best possible way.
K.B. Ladnier is from a small city in Southern Mississippi. She has one daughter and three cats who she claims are stealing her soul in only tiny doses so she won’t notice. She is a cyborg and spends most of her time hiding from her tiny human so she doesn’t have to share her snacks as she reads her favorite books. She hates the beach yet lives only ten minutes away from it and daydreams of mountains and snow. She is married to a hot nerd and loves him dearly even though he hordes cookies and occasionally hides her prosthetic leg from her when she’s mad, so he can get a quick escape. She plans to write as long as people continue loving what she does, otherwise she’s going to say screw it and do her second dream of owning a coffee shop. Though, she may still do both.
It was supposed to be just another photo shoot, just another hot guy and me for the cover of some romance book.
It wasn’t supposed to feel real.
It wasn’t supposed to be real.
But Shane was so hot and so good looking, he was picture perfect—and irresistible. So when he invited me to his place for coffee, I didn’t worry about all the reasons why we shouldn’t.
Little did I know Shane would completely change my whole world, but I just couldn’t say no…

I received this book from the author for an honest review.
What a fun book!! I loved who Jade wrote a book about what we book lovers want to know…what happens between the cover models during a shoot!
Ivy and Shane meet and there is INSTANT CHEMISTRY!! I mean they are pretty hot and bothered but things don’t pan out…kinda not “their time”. The rest of the book is the next time the two meet up and what happens.
Ivy is a grad student who is realizing her naughty images could cause issues in her life. Shane is an up and coming model who had his eye on acting and fame. The two have A LOT to figure out and talk about but then when someone starts some drama we see Shane and Ivy dealing with the definition of what their relationship is!
Jade C. Jamison was born and raised in Colorado and has decided she likes it enough to stay forever. Jade’s day job is teaching Creative Writing, but teaching doesn’t stop her from doing a little writing herself.
Unfortunately, there’s no one genre that quite fits her writing. Her work has been labeled romance, erotica, suspense, and women’s fiction, and the latter is probably the safest and closest description. But you’ll see that her writing doesn’t quite fit any of those genres.
You’ll have to discover Jade’s writing for yourself to decide if you like it.
Holy fucking hell Gemma… this book is fanfuckingtastic! I honestly didn’t know what to expect and you would think I would since I’ve read all your crazy books! LOL! I’m trying to decide if I’m fucked up for loving this so much or if I’ve completely lost my mind all together. This book brought out so many emotions in me. I can’t even begin to explain!
Jules is such a complex character. You start out thinking she’s a weak petal that will crush at the slightest pressure only to find out she’s got courage and a backbone to boot I still think she’s extremely vulnerable, but has the capacity and nerve to acknowledge and move on in just about any situation. Time will tell!
Cash, oh God, Cash! He’s so damn hot and so damn noble and so damn maddening. He wants to do the right thing, but fuck if I know what that is. I can sympathize with his situation, but I can’t condone his infidelity. I know that nobody is innocent in this whole conundrum, but his layer of this story is breaking my heart!
Great supporting character cast.. Let’s start with Cash’s twin brother (holy hot) Kaden. This guy has his own life outside of the family business and he’s doing quite well. I’m not sure if he has anything crazy up his sleeve, but at this point I’ll keep my guard up with this one. Monica, Cash’s wife is mysterious and a little shady if you ask me. I don’t trust her further than I can throw her. Last but not least is Jules friend Leslie, she’s one of those friends that loves you and helps you without judging or asking too many question. I love her!
Ok, so order up for the Queen of Cliffys!!! Yep, that’s right, the story is not over yet and this one ends abruptly. Come on, did you really expect any less from Gemma James? This tale is profound, witty, and heartbreaking all at the same time. The storyline will definitely be a trigger for some, but at the same time it’s captivating and commanding, just like it’s characters. Once my eyes set upon the page I couldn’t tear them away. I loved it and can’t wait to see where this cracked tale will go.

Lady Pippa Godfrey has suffered the most ruinous London Season. She escapes to her Somerset estate for a quiet Christmastide holiday with her family, away from society’s prying eyes. But before her parents can join her, a storm crashes down on Somerset to destroy any hope of Pippa’s white Christmas dream. The roads have flooded and travel is impossible, leaving her stranded and alone. But a muddied, angry and devilishly handsome lord appears at her door demanding shelter.
Lucas Hartfeld, the Earl of Maddox, has been summoned by his parents, the Marquis and Marchioness of Bowmont, to attend a holiday party in the wilds of the country, far from his London townhouse. He suspects they command his attendance for far different reasons than a simple country party. When a storm strands his carriage, he’s forced to seek shelter at the only home for miles around, a local manor called Helton House.
When Lady Pippa is reluctant to admit him, he does what he’s been raised to do—demand she provide him and his servants with shelter until the storm passes. But the beautiful woman draws his interest far more than he’s willing to admit. Can Lucas find a way out of the predicament his parents are planning?
As Lady Pippa scrutinizes another arrogant, demanding lord, she is bombarded with memories of betrayals in her past. Can she forget those difficult life lessons to claim a Christmastide kiss from a perfect stranger?

I picked up this audio book and I have to say it surprised me. The narrator did a great job keeping me invested in the story and not wanting to press the paus button until it was done. I don’t usually go out and pick up a historical but I did in this case because my Bestie told me it was great. I have to agree with her it was a good novella I was able to listen to it in one day.
Lady Pippa Godfrey found herself in the midst of a scandal because of a comment that was made by her Bestie about her. So when the invite to the holiday party of Natalie arrives Lady Pippa decided to ignore it. Lady Pippa is waiting for her parents to arrive home when a snow storm hits. The snowstorm brings with it one arrogant pushy Lucas Hartfeld who is seeking shelter from the weather. When Lady Pippa puts up a fight Lucas does what he does best and demands she provide shelter for him and his men.
Lucas is on his way to attend the holiday party when he gets stranded in the snow storm. He finds himself at the doorstep of the feisty Lady Pippa’s home. Although he is frustrated with her he seems to be drawn to her. Lady Pippa shows Lucas that there is room in life to relax and enjoy the small things.
The banter back and forth between Lady Pippa and Lucas was entertaining. The love that Lady Pippa had for other was heartwarming. To watch Lucas find the true spirit of giving by watching Lady Pippa was remarkable. When his time is up and he has to continue his journey without Lady Pippa she is sadden. How will this end does Lucas continue his on his own, abide by his parents, or does he go after Lady Pippa? I have to say I did not like Natalie but in the end I am intrigued to find out more about her.

Memphis, Missouri, the small town that Sawyer Kingham grew up in, a place that she vowed to never return to. Unfortunately, Sawyer is forced to break that vow when her mother unexpectedly passes away. Her mother may have been her best friend but she kept one secret from Sawyer-the truth about her father. When Sawyer returns to Memphis to she tries to find the answer she’s always been waiting for.
Navy fighter pilot Garrison Cocuzzo is seeking solace and anonymity as he tries to fly under the radar during his break from deployment. Dropping in on his grandfather who lives in Memphis, Missouri seems like the perfect place to avoid his family and gain the comfort of home while on U.S. soil. His plans of peace and quiet are quickly erased when Sawyer Kingham comes crashing into his life.
Sawyer seeks answers. Garrison wants tranquility. When the pair meet, Garrison knows he’ll stay by Sawyer’s side until she has the truth she’s been searching for. The real question for both of them is what happens after the facts are uncovered.
Oh Lyssa!! Yes, I do want to lick Garrison too. Your ability to write these alpha men who we want to throttle and then lick is why you are one of my favorite authors. Does he top Smitty? UHM NEVER but he sure does come in 2nd place very nicely.
Garrison is a bitter, broken Navy pilot who hides out at his grandfather’s house in a small town when he is not on his deployments. He has had a crappy upbringing, crappy girlfriend but he grandpa is the only one who really loves him and keeps it real for him.
Sawyer is a lost, broken soul. Her mom has passed and that was the last family she has left. She doesn’t know who her father is, so she is alone in the world and struggling with it all.
When the two meets, it was not under the best of circumstances. They were both at their worst and both seemed to snap at the other. When they spend a little bit of time together, they both realize the other person IS their soul mate. But ow can they make it work with him being I the military and her living in another state.
The story was sweet with Sawyer looking for her father and having Garrison by her side. He taught her that family doesn’t have to mean blood relations. While Garrison is teaching her she too is teaching him some life lessons…not all women are bad and sometimes families are a blessing and not a curse.

“Now I’m going to ruin you.”
I found the way out.
Yet, Ivy doesn’t know it. Haven’t been able to tell her.
My plan is incomplete. Possibly flawed. The exit from this room is almost in the palm of my hand.
But there’s no telling what truly lies on the other side of that wall.
How the hell we’ll survive escaping this place.
How damaged we’ll be.
Jamie’s life is in our hands—one wrong move from us will be her end and yet, I can’t afford to let that stop me.
Fuck no.
I’ll forsake their lives without so much as a blink to get us out. Their blood on my hands I’ll wear with pride.
To survive I’ll kill every last one of them.
It’s time we finally escape.
We’ll die if we don’t.

Our favorite couple continue in this crazy nightmare that has become their lives. The constant anxiety and mental strain that these two are enduring is unbelievable. I still have hope that they will find their escape, and yet time is the only thing we can pray they have. This twisted story keeps pulling me in deeper and I feel left in a state of shock as I await the next installment.

Audio review
I listen to this book in one day. It drew me in and I didn’t want to hit pause. I was looking for something different I am a shifter and MC gal I’m usually not a sports type girl but this one may have changed my mind.
Luke came from the wrong side of town but was able to rise above it and made something of his life. After his parents died he finds himself responsible for his 14 year old sister. A big change from what he was use to in his life. He is use to fast cars and easy women. He finds himself face to face with a feisty librarian when he forgets his sister at the library.
Violet is getting by day by day and paycheck to paycheck but she is doing well for herself. She befriends a 14 year old girl, Frankie, which comes by the library daily that she finds she has a lot in common with between books, music, and the loss of both their parents. Violet finds Luck is there to bail her out of trouble when her car breaks down and forced to spend time with him.
I loved the back and forth Violet had regarding the relationship with Luke. It felt real and could see this occur in life. Quite book girl finds herself in the fast and the furious world of a man and his car. You could not have two more opposites than Luke and Violet….Luke lives life by the seat of his pants and the faster the better….Violet likes quite time and to be alone. The side characters were great too. I want to find out so much more about them. My heart went out to Frankie for having to deal with her aunt and everything that her aunt put her through. I cannot wait to read Mitch’s story but the one I am really interested in is Kurt and Leelee. I loved Leelee from the moment she arrived at the races. I want a friend like her. I cannot wait to see how things go when these two go head to head.

Will figuring out who their captor is make it any easier to get out? The torture continues and an audience is introduced. How much more can this couple take before they become utterly broken. I cannot put this series down! It’s riveting and twists and turns so unexpectedly.
