Elle Boon
Hi, I’m Elle Boon. I’m a reader first and foremost…and of course if you know me you might know me as the crazy lady with purple hair. I live in Middle-Merica with my hubby Mr B and Kally Kay my 13 year old black lab who also thinks she’s my writing partner. (She happens to sit next to me begging for treats and takes a lot of credit). I have two amazing kids, Jazz and Goob, and am blessed to be a MiMi to one adorable little nugget named Romy or RomyGirl who is 6 years old, and a equally adorable nugget named Rio Mac who was born in 2024. Being a Mimi is seriously the best job EVER.
I love writing, reading, and driving my big ole’ jacked up red Jeep Ruby 3.0 with my hubby. I am known for saying “Bless Your Heart” and dropping lots of F-bombs (I mean lots of F-BOMBS, but who is keeping track?). Seriously, I think if there was ever a cross between a trucker and a sailor with a construction worker dialect I would be that poster child 💜

I write what I love to read, and that’s romance, whether it’s about Navy SEALs, HOT as F**K MC heroes, or paranormal alphas. #dontlookdown is a thing you will need to google. “Wink” With all my stories, you’re guaranteed a happily ever after, no matter what twisted thing my mind has come up with. My biggest hope is that after readers have read one of my stories, they fall in love with my characters as much as I have. I truly love creating new worlds and sometimes even words IYKYK. I have many more stories just waiting to be written and promise they’re coming. P.S. I can totally turn just about anything dirty, including simple words, lol. It’s an art 💜

I believe in happily ever after and can guarantee you will always get one within the pages of my books.

XOXO,
Elle Boon

#Twinsieoftheday – Darkness Falls (Nature’s Fury Book 1) by A.E. Faulkner

As nature tires of human destruction, two sisters must face a changing environment that stands between them and survival.

———————————-

When Quinn and Riley set out on a family vacation with their parents, the trip ends before it begins. Mother Nature interferes with their plans, setting off a sequence of events that thrusts the teens into a hostile landscape.

Stranded, with limited supplies, struggling to figure out who they can trust along the way, they must determine how to survive nature’s evolving fury.

Review by Brandy

I received this book for an honest review.

With the description I was a little surprised that nature wasn’t the immediate problem that the girls
face. Instead it is bad people, and they must decide who they can trust. Then mother nature ups the
ante making a bad situation even worse.
The sisters are stranded alone, and after their food starts to run low, they start to come out of hiding. At
first nothing seems so bad, but then little truths about some people around them start to come out.
When Mother Nature gets in on the game things really start to get bad. With people in survival mode,
strangers become even more dangerous.
While not what I expected it is a good book about two sisters trying to take care of each other. There is
no explicit content, but there is a bit of violence and death as tragedy strikes.

A. E. Faulkner was born and raised in Pennsylvania. When she’s not lost in a book, she loves spending time with her husband and two sons, especially while hiking, biking, or exploring nature. She loves almost everything about nature—ticks excluded, and one of her biggest fears is the repercussions we will face when nature can no longer tolerate human destruction. As such, she never tires of reading dystopian-themed tales. Stories about the end of the world absolutely fascinate her.

A mysterious chest.

A terrifying vision.

Review by Brandy

I received this book for an honest review.

From the description this book was not what I expected. This is not a bad thing, just different. I think
maybe I was expecting a bit more action. This is the first book by this author that I’ve read, so I’m not
familiar with the series that this was expanded from, so that may make a difference.
The story is about a girl and her best friend who are about to start their second year of college and decide
to live off campus. They rent rooms in an older house, and there is an old picture window that starts to
show Chloe things. These visons are of past, current, and future events leaving Chloe confused and
trying to figure out what to do. When she starts seeing visions of a horrible accident, she decides she
must do whatever it takes to stop it.
This book is very interesting, but it is a book that sets up a series. It gives you background stories, and
lets you know how the characters get to where they need to be for the main event. Wren doesn’t get
introduced until towards the end of the book, so we don’t know much about her power. There are also
hints that there are more characters to be added to the group. I am very interested in where this story
goes as this book did draw me in.

Review by Brandy

I received this book for an honest review.

This is such a good sequel! I recommend reading book one as this one picks up shortly after the first and
it doesn’t really go over anything from the previous book. This book has it all. Pirates, magic, magical
creatures, secrets and revenge.
Volke and the other apprentice arcanists are sent with their master to protect Griffins during a bonding
ceremony. Arcanists are people who have bonded with a magical creature, similar to having a familiar as
a witch or wizard in other books but a bit more complicated. While on their mission the island they are
on is infiltrated by pirates. Their leader is the one who took Volke’s sister’s eye and this sends her on a
personal mission of revenge. Nothing goes as planned and it’s a race to see if they can beat the pirates
to what they really want.
The world building is excellent and layered on to what was started in book one. You really start to get a
feel for the global interaction of people and cultures in Volke’s world. Character growth is also really
good not only for the main character and his sister but for the other’s in their apprentice group. I would
recommend this for teens. There is no adult content but some violence as these pirates are not messing
around.

Shami Stovall is a multi-award-winning author of fantasy and science fiction. Before that, she taught history and criminal law at the college level and loved every second. When she’s not reading fascinating articles and books about ancient China or the Byzantine Empire, Stovall can be found playing way too many video games, especially RPGs and tactics simulators. She loves John, reading, and writing about herself in the third person.

Nothing is as it seems.

In his most personal cold case, Chris fights to uncover why the state department told him that Blair, the mother of his children, had been killed when she was alive. What had she uncovered that has made her a target? Who terrified her so much that she had gone into hiding and why are they now after him?

I received this book for an honest review.

This book has lots of action. It starts with a bang and keeps going. Chris’s dead wife is back, but not for
long as she is the target of an assassin because she found out some nasty secrets. It’s up to Chris to try
to figure out what happened and why Blair hid for so long. Blair was good at hiding, and even her best
friend didn’t know what was going on. Some things you think you have all put together, but then comes
a subtle little twist that puts a whole different perspective on things.
The narrator is awesome. There are several characters, and the he is great at giving them individuality
and keeping it from being confusing when switching characters. I also enjoyed the unusual pets and
situations with the pets when Chris’s mom gets involved. Did not see some of that coming. Loved the
character of Chris’s mom. She’s a hoot.
In all a good mystery that will keep you wondering if you have it exactly right or if you missed
something. There is a bit of violence and no adult content.

#Twinsieoftheday – Crimes Past (Mac Faraday Mystery #13) by Lauren Carr

It’s a bittersweet reunion for Mac Faraday when members of his former homicide squad arrive at the Spencer Inn. While it is sweet to attend the wedding of a late colleague’s daughter, it is a bitter reminder that the mother of the bride had been the victim of a double homicide. The brutal slaying weighing heavy on his mind, Mac is anxious to explore every avenue for a break in the cold case—even a suggestion from disgraced former detective Louis Gannon that one of their former friends is the killer. When the investigator is brutally slain, Mac Faraday rips open the cold case with a ruthless determination to reveal which of his friends is a cold-blooded murderer.

I received this book for an honest review.

This story is interesting for sure. I listened to this on audio and the narrator is excellent. There is the
main story about the two cops that are killed on their wedding day, and then there is a second murder
that gets stumbled upon. There is a lot of players in this story as the cops are killed on their wedding day
and the reception is packed with cops. Cops with secrets. You do need to pay a bit of attention to keep
track of all the players and all the lies that start to come out. Justice is a long time coming and boy is it a
twisted path. There are plenty of lies that partners will tell to protect each other and their personal lives.
The second case involves a nasty neighbor that has it out for dogs and a bad history. I will admit I got a
chuckle when the two cases briefly crossed paths. The dogs are a hoot and help blow the case wide
open.
There are some hints of naughty but no explicit details. In all its a twisted tale that will keep you
guessing even after confessions have been uttered. My only real complaint was trying to keep track of
everything and everybody.

But she never expected to find an alien adrift in space, nor for that alien to be so intriguing. There are others hunting Astraeus, and his rescue may cost Earth its last hope.

Review by Brandy

I received this book for an honest review.

This is an interesting one. A science ship is in space looking for a new planet as earth is dying. First
contact with an intelligent alien species starts by finding him floating in space still alive. The medical
doctor wants to study him, the head of security wants to use his own methods to get answers. Astraeus
has a few tricks up his sleeve though, and nothing is exactly what it seems.
The doctor manages to get her way, but just barely.
Sakota
must find a way to get answers and quickly.
As she learns more about the alien, she gets more and more drawn to his story. Of course, nothing is
straight forward as Astraeus doesn’t know who to trust, and there is danger in the depths of space, and
it is coming.
There is a bit of romance, but not a lot and no adult content. The ending is a bit edge of your seat as you
wait to see who will survive, who will make a valiant last stand, and who gets taken out. There is some
violence towards the end.
