Bound together through violence, Cassidy and Luke must come to trust each other as they embark on a search, armed only with the key and Rosa’s cryptic directions. Notting Hill to Mission Impossible overnight! Holy OMG!

Reader Beware: This story ends with a major cliffhanger. I recommend being ready to dive right into the next book.

I could NOT put this book down! There was never a dull moment from the very beginning right to the very end. I started it, turned the page, it was over, I was purchasing the next in the series. Seriously, it was that good!

Cassidy is adopted. She and her mother are not super close. As both women are very independent, when Cassidy receives a letter in the mail from her mother stating, “I need your help,” it scares her deep. This letter puts so many things into motion. She is almost strangled to death and Luke saves her! Oh, and Luke. What can I say about Luke. I am still trying to figure out what he did in his past life, but he is as chivalrous as they come. However, he is definitely atoning for something. These two have a chemistry that is super intense.

These two end up needing one another more than each of them care to like at the beginning but cannot stay away from each other. The constant facing of fears can be exhausting for these two but the spiking of their heartrates and anxiety is also met with the mellowing crash of realizing survival is possible.

Seek is action packed with a lot of suspense and danger. But things are just starting to heat up!

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Ok, so, I am a sucker for post-apocalyptic, dystopian, end of the world, zombies, vampires, etc. Now this series, it mixes post-apocalyptic and vamps….I just had to read it!

When the world around you has become a graveyard and everything has been taken away from you, what do you have to live for? April is trying to live. She is a 17-year-old who has to grow up really fast and lives for her mother and brother. When they are abducted, she just has to find them.

It has been a year since a virus outbreak that didn’t cause zombies but there was an outbreak of feral vampires. I have to be honest and eyerolled a bit here because I was hoping for something a bit more original instead of a virus. However, I continued. While April is out searching for her family and during one of her rage killings of feral vampires, she is introduced to a hybrid vampire. Ultimately, an entire hive of hybrid vampires. Turns out that that she has something that this hive needs, but she also needs this hive to help her find her family. A little tit for tat. Nothing wrong with that, right? While this part of the story is unfolding, we end up getting some cliché’ vampire vibes (forever mating, being able to walk in sunlight, etc.) and I had to hide another slight eyeroll. I had a bit of problem that a year has gone by and April and her family never ran into the hybrids in Las Vegas while foraging.

While some of these things bothered me during the story, the writing was done very well. Even though some of it wasn’t as original as I had hoped, there is a lot of great writing and story telling that keeps you turning the pages. The characters are well developed and April is extremely easy to identify with. Her internal struggle is very real. If placed in a similar position, I don’t know if many people could mentally handle the situation. There is quite the plot twist that is keeping me hanging on and I do need to continue to find out what happens. I am also invested in her love interest *wags eyebrows*!

#WOTR25 #Review – Resonant (The Vampires of Vegas Prequel) by Alexis Purdy

Surviving is worse than death…

As the first days of the end of humanity tumble across the city of Las Vegas in the form of an overwhelming viral infection, turning almost everyone into vampire-like creatures, April Tate will find out what it really means to survive. What does it take to make it out alive in a place where everything is but a withered echo of its former self, and death does not come willingly?

I love Prequels! Especially after you get invested with the main character and just NEED to see what the heck they went through at the beginning. However, in this instance, I started with the prequel. Sometimes, this is a big no no because you are just not committed to the story yet. Well, Alexia Purdy is a new to me author and I am now invested in this story. I need to know what craziness April and her family are about to get into. APOCALYPTIC VAMPIRES! I read this in less than an hour and was so bummed that the story was over. But the best part is, I get to dive right into Reign of Blood like, RIGHT NOW! See ya on the flip side!

#Review #GhostShip – Hull and Fire (The Wards of Minera Book 1) by James W. Cutter

Levy Tren-Ulitese—Lor of the Land and gentleman of high society—is awoken in the early hours of the morning for an emergency: his father’s ship, missing for nine years now, has reappeared near the mouth of its home harbour entirely bereft of its crew. The expedition to the New World, a place they call ‘Minera’, apparently ended in tragedy. But how did the ship sail itself home? What happened to the crew? And what is the strange, dark artifact found aboard her?

Pushed by internal divisions and outside political forces, Levy and his sister are forced to refit the ship and flee the only city they’ve ever called home. Declared fugitives by their father’s old allies, they assemble a strange crew of the desperate and depraved; a turncoat imperial marine, a man that can manipulate the spirit-lines of the world, a war-hero famed for his supernatural accuracy with the musket, and a mute stow-away with mysterious powers. Together, they will follow in the wake of Levy’s father.

Together they will find a new home on the shores of Minera!

I enjoy finding stories that are truly different. When I read the blurb, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was getting myself into, but I am happy to say that I was completely engrossed by the story from start to finish. As a matter of fact, I finished the book and didn’t realize I finished the book, and that was the point I realized I needed to read more. (Boy that was a mouthful, lol)

There is a LOT going on in Hull and Fire with many complex characters and with pretty elaborate world building going on. One of my only real issues with the story itself is that there are many POVs that this story is told from. It was a little tough trying to keep everyone straight at first. But once I got into a groove, I couldn’t put the book down.

There are mysterious forces at work. A lot of lies and a lot of omissions happening at the same time. When everyone starts to turn on Levy and his kind, he takes things into his own hands. Instead of trying to change the people’s minds and face what can certainly be an awful outcome for his family, he defies the odds and moves on to a new world. It’s a compelling story that had me absolutely captivated. I look forward to finding out what happens next!

Pssst, the ghost ship is only going to be the beginning. It has to be. It was an incredible twist at the end to tie in one of the current characters with Levy’s father, the captain of the ghost ship! Kudos to the author!

#NewRelease #paranormal #RH – Cursed by Death, A Ruby Jane Novel Book #1 by Mary Martel

After the death of her mother and her father abandoning her, Ruby Jane grew up in foster care. Due to her father being the king of the underground people think that perhaps Ruby was much better off being raised in foster care.

People would be wrong. She’d just traded one monster in for another, an even bigger one.

Now, as an adult, and after the murder of the only family she had left, Ruby finds herself all alone in the world and seeking answers. Answers she has to venture into the underground to find.

Not a safe place for an innocent girl because the underground isn’t just full of criminals. It’s a place of darkness for the real life monsters that most people think are make-believe. The stuff nightmares are made of, that’s what lurks in the underground.

Ruby may be innocent but she’s anything but average. More familiar with monsters than most, she goes looking for answers and a murderer.

And she gets far more than she bargained for.

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

I had zero clue what this book was about but when Mary offered it, I jumped.  Imagine my shock and excitement when I saw it was a RH/Paranormal…yes please.

The book starts off with Ruby Jane and her twins being punished.  We don’t know why but know it will be part of the story moving forward.  Ruby is being raised in an orphanage by a very nasty woman and when she is 18, she us contacted by her dead grandmother’s attorney telling her she is rich. Pride keeps her from accepting the “charity” until her belly grows.  Then Pride be damned.

Ruby is thrown into a world that she knows about but isn’t ready for.  I mean she walks her butt into the underground strapped with weapons to find her Mate??  WHUTT!!  She is none to thrilled.  We then mee the other men who will be her harem…..the shifter, the detective, and the hunters aka the twins from childhood.

Ruby has a lot to deal with. But meeting her father wasn’t on the bingo card she planned on playing with.  She sure isn’t ready for the demands he makes on her either.  The is a great start to a new series.  I cant wait to see what happens with all her men and all the ways they should despise each other but work together to be with Ruby Jane.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I was excited but a bit nervous when Mary sent me this book.  The title and cover of this book did scare me a bit thinking it was going to be a dark story.  I have to say once I started reading it, I was hooked and could not put this one down.  I absolutely loved Ruby Jane.  She is a loner and can take care of herself. She doesn’t need anyone’s help but oh my how she ends up getting it anyway.

Ruby Jane has never had an easy life. She grew up in foster care after being left behind by her parents. She was forced to live with an evil woman but she did have her “twins” there that helped protect her when she was little. When she was older, the only friend she had was her deceased grandmother’s attorney, old man Thomas, that watched over her. Thomas was the only family she had left until one night he was taken from her.

While trying to figure out why Thomas was taken from her she somehow found herself surrounded by all kinds of men that wanted to protect her.  Her twins, Bane and Roan, from her childhood were reunited with her. She found a new friend in the detective Johnny Rowans that was assigned to the murder case. Then there is the shifter, Rally, that claimed her as his mate when she went to the underworld to find answers to her friends’ death.

Ruby Jane is used to being on her own and watching her navigate all these new relationships was entertaining.  I have to say it was fun to watch the guys interact with one another even though none of them see eye to eye on things except to protect Ruby Jane.  To say Ruby Jane will have her hands full is an understatement. I have to say one of the most shocking things was finding out who her father is and how he plays into this was a bit shocking. I am so exited about this series and so ready to find out what happens next with Ruby Jane and her harem of mixed matched men.

i bought this book and here is my honest review

Las Vegas is the place to go for the craziest bachelorette party one will never forget. Regina just wanted a weekend away to celebrate one of her friends getting married and to get out of her small town. but she never pictured her trip the way it went, blind date with a Hungarian guy who thought he was a hooker, her other friend thinking she was seeing bees after an acid laced blunt from her Hungarian date, and that was just the beginning. I mean what else can actually happen in Vegas, it’s not like you are going to fall in love and possibly end up at the white chapel. this was defiantly a trip for the books and one you would never forget this was such a fun short story that will be having you laughing out loud.

Back with our favorite Gods but now one has been taken. Artemis is missing and her family is furious, that they can’t find her, even her twin can’t sense her. Artemis is being held captive by unknown people to her, but she isn’t going to let that stop her from trying to escape. one thing Artemis didn’t expect is to possibly start feeling something for the one who is making sire she doesn’t escape. Will her cherry get popped or is it all just to get him to let her go. She is one Goddess that doesn’t need a God to save her, she is her own savor, and she knows that, but family helping is always nice. I loved being back in this world it did take me a while to remember everything from previous books, but I did enjoy it.

i was given this book by the author for an honest review

Small town living is much different than the crazy life of Nashville and Ryan is moving to Magnolia Grove to get a fresh start a year after his daughter’s mother passed away and they both needed a place that didn’t have a memory every time they turned around. Laney is the small-town girl grown up with a hard work in her blood and don’t take crap from no one. so, when her crazy dog finds the new neighbors moving in and the cutest little girl to be friends with, she can’t help but wonder what their story is and what brought them to Magnolia Grove. the small-town charm is working on Ryan and Pepper and hope that they can make new memories but still have Katie be a part of Pepper’s life even if just in memory she will always be the breeze in the wind, the warmth from the sun and live within her daughter’s heart. life as a single dad is the hardest thing Ryan has done but maybe the thought of opening his heart to find new love might be the hardest and worst thing ever. Such a cute story that will make you laugh, cry and fall hopelessly in a happy every after. this was such a good way to end the chapter to Magnolia Grove.

A romantic at heart, Andrea has always been a storyteller. An avid reader since a young age, she never planned to pen her own romance novel but, on a whim, and with no plan, she discovered her passion. Known for her slow burn small town romances, Andrea prides herself on writing relatable characters that the reader cheers for and secondary characters who bring the sass and laughs to each story.

Settled in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dog, she counts down the days when her adult children come home for a visit. Even if it means more laundry!

#Review – Slay All The Way (Silent Frights Book 1) by Nova Kane

SLAY ALL THE WAY

Santa’s got a new suit, and it’s stained with blood.

Killer clown, killer clown,

Stalking through the snow,

Ribbons tight, silent night,

Nowhere left to go.

Killer clown, killer clown,

On his blood-red sleigh,

You can’t escape his twisted shape,

You’re all his to slay.

Blood-red bows, icy toes,

Underneath the tree,

With twisted glee, you’ll never be free,

His gift to you is he.

This is my favourite book by Nova Kane so far! I was intrigued by Johnny when we first meet him in the Cirque Du Desir books. But by the end of book 2, I had to know more about this psycho clown.

I read Slay All The Way in a single sitting and stayed up way later than I originally intended. I love a good reading session like that!

So we meet Alaska, who is trying to salvage things between her and her boyfriend Mark. He’s a tool by the way. But Alaska is getting no where. All while this is happening, she feels like she’s being watched. I wonder by who? 😉

Johnny is obsessed and is determined to make Alaska his. When they finally cross paths, it’s off the charts HAWT. While I was reading, I kept thinking, I know I probably shouldn’t like Johnny but I really truly do. Clearly there’s something wrong with me. Especially after he leaves Alaska a present.

I can’t wait to binge the rest of Nova’s books and to read every single thing she releases.

She definitely has a new fan for life!
