#WOTR19 #MM #NewRelease #Review #Cowboys – His Reluctant Cowboy by A.D. Ellis

His Reluctant Cowboy

Out-and-proud volunteer dance instructor, Reid Alexander, is a California boy accustomed to living in flashy luxury. He is less than thrilled upon inheriting his late grandfather’s South Dakota horse ranch. Yet he must endure three months of cowboy hell before he can even consider selling the property.
As the ranch foreman, Walker Corrigan’s entire life is Pine Ridge. When Reid arrives with cold-hearted plans to sell, Walker endeavors to endear the place to the younger man.
Reid is unprepared for the sudden attachment to Walker, the land, and – unbelievably enough – the horses.
Walker’s long-suffering heart takes an unexpected gallop straight toward Reid. Both men are on-board with exploring their relationship, and Reid discovers ranch ownership is more gratifying than he’d once imagined.
But Reid is forced to reconsider his place on the ranch when threats put the property and employees in danger.
Menacing events call Reid’s integrity into question, and he considers saving everyone the hassle and throwing in the reins. But how can he leave when his heart now feels at home on Pine Ridge Ranch and in Walker’s arms?

Goodreads

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Reid and Walker…so night and day yet so perfect for one another.  Reid and Walker….so afraid yet so hopeful about the other.

I am not going to lie when I said Reid is a major turn off initially.  He is spoiled and privileged but once you start to get to know him….you get him.  The opening scenes with Reid, I was seriously about to punch him.  I was telling Norma Not to be nice to him…LOL

Walker is a seasoned rancher and closed off to love.  His heart is now all about the ranch and he hopes and prays that Reid will SEE the ranch for how wonderful it is.  He hopes and dreams of continuing life on the ranch and then his dreams turn to sharing that with Reid…..Wink Wink.

Reid is so out and loud and accepting of his sexuality that I did laugh at this “rancher serious clothing shopping trip” and following fashion show.  Walker is so serious, but Reid is the breath of fresh air he needs.  Walker is also what Reid needs.  Walker helps him find a purpose and ranching is that purpose.

The story was a great read. My favorite scene is when Reid discovers Walker is gay thanks to his rock hard erection…LOL    I totally laughed at the fact Reid bragged about his gay-dar and yet he missed Walker.

The plot with the person casing issues on the ranch was a great read and I think this story is a great read for anyone who has not read AD before.  You get an awesome story and a great look into her beautiful love story writing style.

A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana teaching alternative education in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing school-aged children, and laughing at two precocious cats. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.
She loves chocolate, wine, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband of nearly two decades. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.

#WOTR19 #MM #BoxSet #Trilogy #CompleteSeries – The Blueridge Junction Boys by AD Ellis

The BJ Boys Box Set: The Blueridge Junction Boys Complete Series

Come to Blueridge Junction and meet the BJ Boys. Blueridge is a small town with BIG love between real men. This box set contains all three full-length novels.

Fight for It – Micah is a small-town mechanic with a big-time dream. He’s found his soulmate in high school social studies teacher Coleman Pierce, but while Micah’s out and proud of it, Coleman’s closet door is closed, locked, and welded shut. Stolen nights are all they’ll ever have, unless Micah can find some way to convince Cole that coming out won’t be the end of his dreams.
Cole moved to Blueridge Junction to escape his past. He planned to make himself a new life, far from home and the betrayal he’d suffered there. He wasn’t going to make the same mistakes again, but he didn’t count on meeting Micah, or the intensity of the feelings the man arouses in him.
But Micah is out and Cole… isn’t. And while Micah definitely revs his engines, Cole isn’t going to risk his job or his newly minted future on a relationship that might not work out. When outside forces bear upon the couple, Cole is faced with a decision. Will he keep his secret and risk losing everything, including the man he loves? Or will he stand with Micah and fight for their future?

Can’t Fight It – For small-town tattoo artist Levi Wells his few forays into love have only brought him trouble. When trouble with a capital T came sashaying into town two years ago in the form of flamboyant young dancer Jay Owens, Levi becomes more determined than ever to stay away from anything remotely resembling a relationship. Especially one with someone so young and different than him.
Two years. That’s how long Jay has been trying to wear Levi down. But, Levi only sees Jay as a thorn in his side and balks at their differences every chance he gets. Luckily for them both, Jay isn’t going to let a little thing like Levi’s reluctance stand in the way of getting what he wants.
Levi is as stubborn as Jay is tenacious and they find themselves at an impasse. When Jay inadvertently gets himself into an unnerving situation, Levi’s protective nature surges forth even as he berates his heart for getting involved. Will Levi stay focused on their differences and keep fighting his true feelings? Or will Jay finally burrow through Levi’s self-imposed walls? One thing is for sure, you can’t fight love.

Bound to Fight – Bar and grille owner Cody Parker is the no-nonsense leader of a weekly gathering of the leather community—a powerful, respected man guaranteed to make all the bottom boys beg. He sees red at even the mere mention of Kennedy Marks.
Having escaped a terrifying childhood, Kennedy Marks is now a beloved Blueridge Junction police officer. Until recently, Kennedy has never questioned his role in intimate relationships. He knows Cody hates him, and the feeling is very much mutual.
Neither man can explain why they despise each other. But when an unexpected kernel of desire takes root in Kennedy’s mind, that ever-present animosity begins to waver. Can the two allow themselves to explore the reasons behind their hatred and cross that thin line between love and hate?

*All of these titles are meant for ages 18+ due to adult themes, language, and situations.*

#WOTR18 #AuthorSpotlight – Attending Author AD Ellis @ADEllisAuthor

A.D. Ellis

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

A.D. Ellis I’m a mom, wife, inner city teacher, and author. I enjoy reading, writing, napping, and teaching myself to crochet. I love spending time with my friends, laughing, eating, tasting new sweet red wines. I’m pretty much addicted to chocolate and hot tea.

When and Why did you start to write?

I started a story in October of 2013 while on Fall Break at my parents’ house. I had been thinking of the story for a while and just decided to see if I could do it. That story (For Nicky) was published in April of 2014 and, nineteen books later, I guess you could say I was bitten by the writing bug.

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

My local writer peeps: TC Winters, Jillian Jacobs, Anya Breton, Ava Cuvay, Lori Wood, Cheryl Brooks, Donya Lynne, Lisa Caviness, Roxy Mews, Aly Grady, Melanie Jayne, Aleatha Romig….the list goes on and is a LONG one, but I have very talented writer friends right here in Indiana!
In my male/male genre, I love Kaje Harper, Missy Welsh, Finn Marlowe, Keira Andrews, Kay Simone, Ella Frank, Riley Hart, Felice Stevens…seriously, I could fill this entire page with my friends and fellow male/male romance genre writers.

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

It’s not concrete. Some days things work, some days they don’t. Words will flow one day and refuse to come the next. The process I used for one book may not be the same as I use for another. Ideas pop into my head at the weirdest times. Sometimes I go back to those ideas and they become great stories, other times they sit and marinate, or maybe they never go anywhere at all.
For me, the writing process is very fluid.

What are you working on now?

At the moment of writing this interview, I’m working on the third (last) book in my Blueridge Junction Boys (The BJ Boys) series titled Bound to Fight.

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

I am a pantser who likes to have a bit of a plan. Or a plotter who enjoys when pantsing happens. Really, I can’t start a book without SOME sort of plan, but most of my stories unfold during the actual writing.
