#WOTR21 #AuthorSpotlight – Chelsea Camaron

Chelsea Camaron

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Chelsea Camaron is a small town Carolina girl with a big imagination. She’s a wife and mom, chasing her dreams. She writes contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and romance thrillers. She loves to write about blue-collar men who have real problems with a fictional twist. From mechanics, bikers, oil riggers, smokejumpers, bar owners, and beyond she loves a strong hero who works hard and plays harder.

When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?

The others after it!

What comes first? The plot or characters

Depends on the series – most of the time a single scene starts in my mind that I can’t shake and I build from there.

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?

Madeline Sheehan

What is harder? The blurb writing, naming the book, or naming the series.

Naming the book!

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?

pressing publish for the very first time

What is your definition of success?

Writing a story from beginning to end is a win. I have so many projects unfinished, getting to the end is a simple success to me that I treasure.

#AuthorSpotlight of Siera London

Thank you for hosting me Twinsies Talk Book Reviews!

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself. I’m Siera London and I write really sexy and emotional love stories. Heroes really do exist in Sieraland. Men who know what they want make my knees weak. I published my debut novel, Chasing Ava in 2015 and…twenty-two books later, I still love typing THE END.

When you are writing, what are some go to’s that you need? i.e. Foods to eat, noise level, place to sit. Peace. Quiet. Pen, paper, and my laptop. For my latest release, Prime Ripped, I dictated most of the book.

What or how would you describe the books you write? I write juicy stories about messy people who deserve love even if they don’t believe it’s possible. Family is important to my characters. Most of them will have one or more wacky relatives to battle with on the road to happily ever after.

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?  Meet?! I want to eat dinner and then spend the night with Talia Hibbert, J.R. Ward, and Lee Child. Yeah, I’m that chick.

When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person? Ha, I wish! I write best at night, but life forces me to write during the day (when I’m home alone).

What is your favorite memory so far as an author? Receiving my first reader review for Chasing Ava. Logan and Ava’s story belonged solely to me for eighteen months before I hit publish. I feel in love with them before their story was written. When I received that first review, I knew someone else loved them too.

Do you have a book that is your most prized possession?  Hmm, I don’t think so. Each book is a diamond, precious and beautiful, with a brilliance of its own.

#WOTR20 #AuthorSpotlight – Brandy Slaven

Brandy Slaven

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Hiya! I’m Brandy Slaven. I currently reside in small town, Tennessee. I have a wonderful supportive husband, two wild kiddos consisting of a 12 year old mini ball player and 6 year old little princess, and one furbaby named Primrose. Any given day you can find me glued to my screen writing, but when I need a break you can find me hiking with the hubs at one of the many state parks, or if we have a long weekend, at the beach, or in the mountains. I love all kinds of music and movies. I must say most of my favorites lists on both consist mostly of 80’s stuff. My favorite hobby is and will always be reading. I read every genre, but I am definitely a post-apocalyptic and paranormal freak. You’ll more than likely find me biting into a vampire novel or devouring a zombie book.

When you are writing, what are some go to’s that you needs? IE Foods to eat, noise level, place to sit.

I can write anywhere as long as the mood is right. If it’s loud then I definitely need music!

What are you favorite things about attending signings?

WOTR was my first last year and everything ran so smooth. I was anxious not knowing what to expect but the Twinsie ladies are amazing and welcomed me with open arms, making everything a ton easier.

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?

One thing about me…I never choose favorites…EVER. I’d seriously love to meet Stephen King, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Charlaine Harris. Just to name a few.

When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person?

It depends on what I’ve got going on during the week. I try to make it a point to write every single day no matter what even if it’s not the same amount of hours.

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?

Honestly? To this day when I see readers posting places saying how much they love my work, it gets me. I love that I’m able to bring others joy with my characters.

Do you have a book that is your most prized possession? What is it and why is it so amazing?

If you’d have asked me before I became an author, I’d have said Stephen King’s Bag of Bones because it was given to me from an older family friend. It started my love for SK and horror. Now, I’ve got signed books that are cherished on their own shelf from some awesome author friends like Mary Martel and Crystal Ash.

#WOTR18 #AuthorSpotlight – Attending Author Traci Douglass @Traci_Douglass

Traci Douglass

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Traci Douglass

Traci is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Contemporary and Paranormal Romance. Her stories feature sizzling heroes full of dark humor, quick wits and major attitudes and heroines who are smart, tenacious, and always give as good as they get. She holds an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University and she loves animals, chocolate, coffee, hot British actors, and sarcasm—not necessarily in that order.

When and Why did you start to write?

I wrote my first book in 2011 after I had a dream that just wouldn’t go away until I put it down on paper. That became my first published novel, Seal of Destiny, which released from Crimson Romance in 2013.

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

I have wide ranging tastes when it comes to books. Some of my favorite go-to authors are Kristan Higgins, Gena Showalter, Sarah MacLean, KJ Charles, Josh Lanyon, Dan Brown, Joe Hill, and Ernest Cline.

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

Just how long everything takes in traditional publishing. No one really tells you that when you go into it. From submission to an actual book in your hands, the world of publishing definitely works on its own time table.

What are you working on now?

]Well, I just recently signed new contracts with both Harlequin/Mills & Book Medical Romance and also Entangled Bliss. So I’m currently working on the proposal for Book Two on my Harlequin contract and writing my first sweet romance for Bliss. My first book with Harlequin is heading to copy edits now and should release in either late 2018 or early 2019. No firm release dates yet for the Entangled Bliss books. I’ll keep you posted on on those. 🙂

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

A bit of both. I like to start a project with at least my main plot points mapped out, so I know where I’m going. Things like inciting incident, plot points 1 & 2, the black moment, climax, HEA, etc. Then I kind of pants the journey in between, from point to point. That’s where the magic happens. 😉
