Spunky-n-Sassy – “Never ever have I read a book this perfect.”

Beaten at the hands of his peers, he knows judgment. The domino effect of one person’s crime going unpunished never heals.

He’s no saint.
Mitchell “Trapper” Gates fears nothing. He begs for death and relishes life on the edge.
He’s also not afraid to call himself a sinner.
Trapper knows what it is to be violated and what it feels like to deliver a death blow. He knows love and he knows pain.
However, one person knows his every secret.
When Avery has waited long enough, can Trapper see beyond their past and into their future? Or is he too late?
Love, hate, anger, and passion collide as the time comes and the devil demands his due.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I have WAITED and WAITED for this book. OMG the secrets that are spilled. The story of Trapper and Avery is something I never saw coming. We knew the two had a dark past. We knew Trapper was running but from what we had no clue. We knew Avery was tired of waiting for Trapper. But none of us were ready for what unfolded in this novel.

First of all, I loved the way the book was told in 3 sections. At first, I was like “huh” but honesty it is the best way to remind us of what we know about Trapper and Avery. We got to replay the scenes from the other books, meet these two in their childhood through to adulthood, and then see their futures plus the rest of the nomads.

I will tell you that if you are a fan of the series, be ready. No amount of preparation can get you ready for this book. The upset tummy I had over the horrors Trapper and Avery faced together and separately hurt my heart. The love they feel for one another is felt through the pages of the book.
I can’t get into a lot of specifics because you need to read this book and feel this book. To giveaway a lot of plot is to ruin the story and love of Avery and Trapper. These two and their story will no doubt be a top read for me for this year.

She’s the matchmaker…he’s her sexy client. What could go wrong?

Fia Martin has a tough job: Find the perfect woman for arrogant, handsome Dylan Chambers, before her rival can do it––on national television. If Dylan declares her the winner, Fia’s match-making business will skyrocket.

Dylan is picky. He’s smug. He reminds Fia that he doesn’t believe in true love. The dates she sets up for him end in complete disaster. And every time she tells him to behave, he flirts with her shamelessly.

A stolen kiss turns to a night of unbelievable passion and the best sex of her life…but Fia knows that Dylan’s not interested in more than a fling, because he’s still going on dates for the challenge like nothing happened.

When Dylan chooses her competitor’s company for his final dream date in Hawaii, to a woman who looks perfect on paper, Fia figures she can kiss the trophy goodbye. The problem is that she’s about to lose her heart, too…to the one man who’s completely unavailable.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This is the first book from this author but it won’t be my last.

So when I saw what this book was about I was excited because one of my favorite guilty pleasure reality tv shows is about a love matchmaker sooo this was a no brainer to take.

Knowing that the matchmaker and the matchee…is that even a word??….anyway, knowing they are going to be fighting a love connection because she as to do her job……I knew this was going to be amazing!!

Fia is amazing at her job.  She just needs like 5 minutes with you and she can size you up with your perfect match.  She is given the task of finding negative Nancy, aka Dylan a match.  Dylan is so not thrilled to be a part of this but he lost a bet and soooooo here he goes.

I liked this story.  It was a fun and flirty story to read on a crappy snowy day.  The book was a little predictable but come on that is what makes it fun.  The characters chemistry and banter was awesome.  I had a few giggles at them fighting what was happening between them.

“I’d love to live here,” she murmured, reaching out to touch the closest sculpture, a gorgeous creation with swirling green and blue, like an ocean in glass, then drew back a finger, to check his face. “This is the prettiest thing I’ve seen in long time. Can I touch?”

“You can touch anything you want.” His eyes met hers evenly, and she thought she’d seen something open in his expression when she’d complimented his art, something warm and bright.

She didn’t look away, even as she put her hand down to blindly find the smooth glass, running her hand over it. “It feels good.”

He smiled. “I would hope so.”

They stood looking at each other, then he spoke. “Fia?”

“Yes?” She could barely breathe.

“One night. Just to get it out of our system. What do you say?”

“What?”

“No holds barred, one night of passion. You and me. Look, I get what you feel about your clients. And you know I’m not looking for anything long term. But we both want each other pretty fucking badly.”

She sucked in a breath.

“So, let’s just go for it. Seize the day. Take advantage of the chemistry. I promise you I will make it so fucking good, Fia.”

For a second she thought about saying no, but the desire could no longer be denied. She didn’t bother replying, but walked right up to him, wound her arms around his neck and lifted her lips to let him claim her with his mouth.

“Fuck,” he murmured, and his hands were on her back, on her ass, pulling her into him as he plundered her mouth with his tongue.

She pressed herself into him, delighting to feel his hard chest against her breasts, and lower, another hardness entirely that indicated how much he wanted her.

“Take off your shirt,” she muttered, pulling at the buttons. “So sexy. But off.” She managed to undo two of the middle ones, and slid her palm into the pocket she’d created to touch his muscular chest. “You feel so fucking good.”

“Your dress comes off first,” he whispered into her ear. “My rules.”

“Why should we play by your rules?” she asked, letting her eyes shut as he kissed and bit down her neck, moaning when he licked her clavicle.

“Because you’ll like it,” he promised. “Want to see?”

“Are you some kind of kinky dom or something?”

He laughed. “Or something.”

Her eyes flew open, but she felt more excitement than concern. “Really?”

He ran a finger down her cheek. “Really.”

“Like, tie-me-up-and-spank-me stuff? Tell me what to do stuff?” Her heart started to race.

“If you like that, then, yeah, I can do that for you.” He ran a hand down her arm, slowly, and they both watched his long fingers stroke her skin. She sucked in a breath at how erotic it felt. “I like almost anything, Fia, so you just tell me”—and he leaned in and put his mouth right at her ear—“What. You. Fucking. Love.”

She whimpered and grabbed at him. She’d always dreamed of being with a man who was unapologetically sexy, so in tune with his body that he could master hers and bring her exquisite pleasure. She didn’t want hard-core BDSM, but she definitely wanted, no craved—for him to take control.

“I might like what you said,” she whispered into his neck. “The tying up and spanking. As long as nobody knows we did this.”

He let his fingers stray to her breasts, which he stroked through the dress. “You like a little pain, with your pleasure, Fia?”

“A little. Not too much. Yes.”

He squeezed a nipple, and she cried out, but it was from passion, not dismay. She started breathing harder.

“You think you’d like doing what I ask?” He bit her neck, and she almost combusted. But she needed to clarify before they went further, just so she could relax and enjoy the moment completely.

“What are your other rules, besides the shirt thing?” she asked, pulling away. They were both breathing hard. She slowly slid the straps of her dress down her shoulders. “If I like what I hear, I just might obey.”

A muscle clenched in his jaw, and he smiled a dark, dangerous smile. “For starters, you don’t come until I say you can. But don’t worry…it will be often.”

She sucked in a breath and lowered the dress an inch, and his eyes shot to her breasts, where the creamy skin was slowly being revealed. “And?”

“And you’ll do what I say, when I say it. For instance, if I tell you to come lay down over my lap so I can spank you, you’ll do that.”

“Interesting.” She licked her lip and felt a surge of moisture between her thighs. “You’d honor a safeword, of course.”

“Of course.” He gave her the dark grin again. “You could just tell me to stop. But what word do you want?”

She pulled the fabric still lower so her areolas were visible but not her nipples. “Red. Keep it simple.”

“Good choice.” His voice rolled over her. “Keep going. Show me your tits.”

“What if I don’t do it?” She met his eyes.

He unbuttoned one sleeve and began to deliberately roll up the fabric, little by little. “You want to find out?”

#Review #Christmas #Shifter Holly Jolly Lycan Christmas ( A True Mates Stand-alone) by Alicia Montgomery

Despite becoming one of the most famous celebrity chefs in New York, Dante Muccino’s wolf is restless. After watching all his friends and family pair up with their True Mates, the animal inside him wants what they have too. Children. Family. And a woman to call his own. When he runs into rival Holly Taylor, his wolf is intrigued, but the frosty chef won’t give him the time of day.

Holly Taylor’s life felt like a big juggling act. All she wants to do is hide out in the kitchen and create fabulous and delicious dishes, and earn the respect of her peers. But life has thrown her extra things to juggle, and she didn’t need one more, particularly in the form of Dante Muccino. But there’s something about the easygoing chef that’s melting the icy walls she spent years to build. He’s a distraction she can’t afford, and if she’s not careful, she may lose more than her heart to the handsome chef.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

It’s that time of year again. Time for family gatherings, Christmas movies on tv, Christmas music on the radio, Santa in the malls, and children trying to be oh so good to stay on the nice list. The one thing that’s good to have all year round is SHIFTERS!!!!!!
Alicia Montgomery takes us back to the True Mates world with Dante Muccino.
We’ve met Dante before, his sister is the Lupa of New Jersey and his brother in law the Alpha of New York.
Dante is a celebrity chef, now that his family’s restaurant has taken off. He has had his pick of women, but now having watched his family and friends find their true mates he realizes that there’s more out there the short term relationships he has had, and he’s ready for it.
Holly Taylor is the Head Chef at the new French Restaurant across the street from Muccino’s. To the staff and the people she went to culinary school with she is known as the Ice Queen. A lot has changed in her life in the last year, her brother and sister in law were murdered, she took custody of their daughter so she won’t be put into foster care, she left her job in Paris so that she could bring her up in the states, and helped to start this new restaurant. When she and Dante first meet they get off on the wrong foot and it takes awhile to get back on the right one. However, when they first meet there is also a spark of attraction, but Holly has no time for that between the restaurant and Hannah she has no time for a man in her life.
What happens next is a family finding their way to each other, Russian mobsters, Holly finding out that lycans exist, and Christmas.
Christmas is truly a magical time to bring a True Mate couple together.
Montgomery has done a excellent job at writing a Christmas love story. I have a feeling we have seen the last of these couples, but what a wonderful way to see them go.

#Review – Hushed Torment (Iron Fury MC book 2) by: Bella Jewel

One accident changed my life.
One single second changed everything for me.
In one terrifying moment, everything I knew was gone.
Music is the only thing that keeps me holding on.
When the opportunity arises for me to tour with country music star, Scarlett Belle, I take it.
An escape.
A chance.
Only it isn’t enough to lift the shadows of my past.
And when I meet him, dangerous and different, I can’t turn away.
He is forbidden to me.
The President of a Motorcycle Club.
A man who could bring noise back into my soundless world.
But the shadows of my past haunt me.
They linger like a dark nightmare, reminding me that we can never be.
Because my sins are far too heavy.
And my mind far too broken.
Music is the only escape I can allow into my life.
The only one that I will let seep through my hungry veins.
But he’s always there.
And he’s persistent.
But if he knew what I kept behind closed doors…no.
I must continue my life just the way it is.
Without him.
Breathing in my nightmare.
Living in my Hushed Torment.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Bella Jewel has a way of dragging me into a story and not letting me set it down. I loved Amalie from the start and Malakai stole my heart with his fierceness.  My heart broke for all that sweet Amalie suffered throughout this story.

In one night on accident caused Amalie such regret and torture over the past year. She carries demons and a dark shadow knowing what she did not only hurt her and changed her life but also changed the lives of others. However, things started turning around for her when she meet Scarlett, a country music sweetheart, and was given a chance to do what she did best.  Little did Amalie know when she started on this new path she would find herself face to face with the President of a motorcycle club. WOW did he stir things in her.

Malakai is the President of Iron Fury and when his brother Maverick decided to protect Scarlett Malakai finds himself face to face with the beautiful Amalie. When he decides something is his he will do anything to make it his and right now Amalie finds herself in his sights. My heart fluttered at the tender side Malakai has only for Amalie but can still let his rough show. He is determined to make the darkness in Amalie disappear. The only thing that can tear them apart is Amalie’s past. Can Malakai overcome what she is keeping held in or will it crush them.

To see the friendship that Amalie and Scarlett form is such a beautiful thing. The amount of talent that Amalie holds within herself because she is unsure is amazing. The kindness she shows others no matter what she gets in return is something most would not tolerate but she does because of her big heart. My heart ached for what Amalie and Charlie endured but if there is a positive to come out of a negative is that they were there for each other when they needed someone and a friendship was formed that will last.

I am loving this series and the bikers that hopefully find their one eventually. I cannot wait to hear more about Boston and Mason but Koda is next. I am so excited for Koda and Charlie’s story so many secrets to uncover with these two like how come Koda does what he does and what is Charlie running from.  I will be patiently waiting for January to arrive so I can finally get his story.

Review by Jordan

What do you do when your life is in shambles, but you are the rock of the family? You buy a lottery ticket and hope for something to change your life. A new city, anew job, maybe a new man? Or two? This story had me pulled in all directions. The good the bad the sad. I couldn’t stop reading. It broke my heart and put me back together again. It was devastatingly beautiful!

Three times best selling author Dawn Robertson was born and raised in Connecticut before relocating to Florida in 2013. The same year first novel, Hers debuted as an Amazon Best Seller. Replicating that success with two additional novels in the following years.

The Indie publishing world has grown to love her raw writing style depicting strong
women in real life situations, topping the charts in erotica, romance, and romance-suspense. Robertson has even insinuated that the female characters in her book mirror her real life. But, that I’ll leave to speculation.

When Dawn Robertson is not writing she is a full-time Real Estate professional in Florida, and mother of three amazing children.

She prefers to remain unknown, but she’s seen in public with the world’s most talked about fighter and thrust into a national spotlight that catches the attention of her childhood tormentors.

And they aren’t finished with her yet.

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

This is my first story by JB. I also had the pleasure of joining her on this new project and I couldn’t be happier. This story is short but hot, sweet and intense. I love Caleb and Honor together and also the side characters. Even though this was my first read by this author, I wasn’t confused. It only made me want to read the rest of the series.

I loved seeing our favourite characters from Harper Sloan’s world mixed in with JB’s. It’s two amazing worlds in one.

I highly recommend this story and I will definitely be picking up the rest.

#Review – Breathless Night (Breathless #1) by K. Aybara

Breathless Night (Breathless #1)

Luke Roberts was a typical wild and crazy guy, getting to know each of the girls at his local bar intimately. Taking a different one home with him each night of the week, and sometimes even fighting over them, had always been his way. When he started spending too much time with his best friend’s girl, the cost became too high.

Joining the army helped him get his head straight, until Cailyn Donnelly—a pure innocent virgin—came into his life. After nearly dousing him with pepper spray when he helped her with a flat tire, she found herself falling for his kind actions and charm. The animal inside of him wanted to ravish her, while the loving and caring husband wanted to be gentle and not overwhelm her.

Walking the fine line of boring mundane sex and hot passionate kinkery, Luke and Cailyn are fighting internal battles to discover a way to let the other know they are wanting more.

Will they spice things up just enough? Or will it get too hot for one of them to handle?

Goodreads

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This is a debut book from an author I have gotten to know for the course of a couple years.  I got the book and had to put it on the back burner because …LIFE but after sitting down and reading it I liked the quick read.

Caitlyn could be any of my friends.  Screwed because she had a flat and needs help changing it.  Leery of the dude who helps her out, as any rational woman would be, she is not to impressed by him one bit.  Caitlyn is not even remotely interested in Luke but that seems to make him even more interested in her.  Virgin + not gonna happen = Luke needs more Caitlyn time!!

When he is invited over for dinner, Caitlyn sees Luke a little differently and the couple begin to have a lot of hot and steamy sex.  They stop and then start with the sex again…LOL…get my drift?  There is a lot of sex in the story and it fits perfectly in the Erotica genre.

I will say I wish there was a bit more to the story BUT its erotica.  I was a bit confused initially with the story but if you stick with it and enjoy the sexy time the story comes *snickers* full circle and you will enjoy the story of the couple.

K. Aybara resides in Louisville, KY with an amazing wife and two sons. When not being pulled in every direction possible with the normal tasks of life, he enjoys working in the woodshop as well as breeding and raising tropical fish. He didn’t find his love for reading until meeting his wife, however now it is rare to find him without a book in hand. While he had no intention to start writing until a friend challenged him to do so, he quickly found that he was hooked and couldn’t wait to get his first book done and start on the second.

Admitting that there is a time an e-reader comes in handy, he still prefers to hold the real thing when reading. While in the past he only read fantasy and dystopian for the most part, after getting to know several indie authors at a local signing he attended with his wife, he is now open to giving all genres a shot.

AMY GREGORY

Amy Gregory is a Kansas girl through and through, although she’s left pieces of her heart in Hawaii and Nashville. She lives in a suburb south of Kansas City on a small farm with her husband (AKA high school sweetheart), three kids, and a growing number of critters. In her ‘spare’ time, Amy writes contemporary romance, taking real life events, adding smartass dialogue, bits of humor, and always a happy ending. She prides herself on making her characters very realistic, and admits to becoming extremely attached to them. So much so, she’s found it much easier to lose herself in a series where they can drift in and out of each other’s books.
If she’s not writing, working, or cheering on her children, she’s most likely taking way too many pictures of baby goats or feeding treats to animals who are all beyond spoiled.

She debuted her first fiction novel in 2015 after retiring from 13 years of non-fiction writing for various online entities. For the last couple of decades, she’s also carried the titles of Laundry Goddess, Chef, Butt Wiper, Soother of Temper Tantrums, and in more recent years, Moderator of Sarcastic Eyerolls and Sass. She resides in Illinois with her husband, as well as two grown children who claim they are never moving out. Regardless, they are the center of her universe, although her cat believes otherwise.
If she had any spare time, she’d love music, photography, watching Mystery Science Theater 3000 with her family, and long rides on the back of her husband’s motorcycle.

ANNA HAGUE

In my professional career, I’m a sports writer. I found myself scribbling notes, paragraphs and dialog for the stories in my head between innings of baseball games, cautions during IndyCar races, or halftime breaks of other events. I decided to gather all of scribblings and join a writers’ group. From that point, I began to work seriously on a manuscript, and with the help and support of the Indiana RWA, I published my debut novel Captured Hearts in November 2016. It is a contemporary romance, but I find myself attracted to many types of romance, historical, suspense, and even some erotic.  My next novel Appearances will be available in July at WOTR. While Captured Hearts is a more serious story, Appearances has humor, suspense, and the coming together of two completely different personalities. Some of my love for sports appears in Appearances.
When not writing, I spend time with my husband who is very supportive of my endeavors. We are native Hoosiers from Indiana, but have lived all over the U.S. and are currently back home again. We’ve hosted eleven foreign exchange students and visited several of them in their home countries. Though we have no children of our own, we do have a menagerie of parrots, and a dog.
Both my husband and I love sports, especially auto racing. We live in central Indiana, but travel frequently. One of my favorite places is downtown Chicago where I dream about having a weekend place overlooking Lake Michigan.

AURIA JOURDAIN

With fond childhood memories of reading on quiet afternoons, I loved the “happily ever after” sweet teen romances, but I quickly plunged into the world of historical romance—my get-away-from-real-life transporter. After getting my BA in Political Science from the University of Illinois, my writing career slowly began. My first novel took fifteen years to write; the second took 2 months. 20 years later, I’m living my dream. With five published novels and several more in my head, I have years of work ahead of me.
At the moment, I can’t decide which sub-genre is my favorite to write. My first love is historical romance—three of my six regencies in the Pure Escapades series, Pure of HeartPure Temptation, and Pure Enchantment, are now available, and the fourth, Pure Captivation, is due in the winter of 2018-19. In 2016, I released my first YA novel, Spirit of the Northwoods, for my autistic son, hoping to spread awareness about the daily struggles that a person with special needs endures. And, in January 2017, I released my first romantic suspense set in the Upper Peninsula–Silence the Northwoods. I’m currently working on the next romantic suspense in my Northwoods Trilogy, Silence the Waters, due in the summer of 2018. Along with a number of contemporaries that have popped into my head, I’d love to try my hand at a YA sweet romance series in the future.
I grew up in Peoria, Illinois, transferring all over the state as my husband persued his medical degree. We settled in Mt. Vernon, Illinois for fifteen years until transferring to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In the long winters, I plot and scheme my next book, and in the mild summers, my family and I spend every waking moment we can hiking and kayaking our breathtaking home. Living fifteen miles from the shores of Lake Superior, my muse is often piqued by the awe-inspiring beauty that surrounds me. I’ve found peace in the Northwoods, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.

AVA CUVAY

Ava Cuvay writes out of this world romance featuring sassy heroines, often-alien-but-always-sexy heroes, and an alcoholic beverage or two… Set in a galaxy far, far away. Think “Star Wars” meets “Firefly”, without Jar-Jar Binks, and with a lot more heat.
She resides in central Indiana with a hubby who makes her laugh and kiddos who are growing up way too quickly. She enjoys the world of wine and spirits, amusement park thrill rides, and laughing at her own foibles (yeah, she laughs a lot).
She believes life is too short to surround yourself with negative people, and Han Solo shot first. When not writing, Ava is thinking about writing. Or wine. And she’s always thinking about bacon.

DAKOTA TRACE

Dakota is a simple Midwest girl, who has found her passion in storytelling at a young age. Her father always said she made up the craziest stories. Most remained unwritten though as writing wasn’t Dakota’s strong suit. That all changed in junior high when she took her first typing class. Problem solved for the dyslexic Dakota. There was no stopping her after that. She wrote her first novel her freshman year about a girl who could speak to animals on an old electric IBM typewriter her dad found at a garage sale. Now writing in several different genres, she is a published author with multiple books under her belt. When she isn’t writing, she’s the crazy mom of three teenagers and one slightly neurotic pup.

Growing up she was the only girl out of six children. She is a single mother of two teenage boys; there is never a dull moment in her life. Reading books is her favorite hobby. There is nothing like a nice glass of wine and a good book to relax with at the end of the day.
There are always stories inside her head; she just never thought she could make them come to life. That creativity has finally found an outlet.

JULS BERGHAMMER

At 14, Juls was given a Harlequin Presents romance novel and thus began a love affair of romance novels that 38 years later is still going strong.  Having devoured thousands of romances, Juls decided it was time to start writing her own.  A short stint of writing begun in the late 80’s, was shelved to make way for a family and a horse farm.  The kids are grown and the horse farm is closed and with time on her hands, Juls began to write short stories as a way to fill up her days off at her day job as a hairstylist, and ideas for full length novels began swirling in her head.
With plans for a contemporary romance series set in the horse industry, (not just rodeo and ranches) called “The Equestrians”, a paranormal series with steampunk elements, called “The Dark Carnival”, a dystopian series called “Off Grid”, and an urban fantasy series to be named later, and a Civil War Historical romance,  Juls will be busy for quite some time, with the goal of retiring from her day job.
Juls lives in central Wisconsin on an 80 acre farm of woods and marsh, where the turkeys an deer walk through her front yard every day, and the humming birds dive bomb her husband.

K.C. BATEMAN

Kate Bateman (writing as K. C. Bateman) wrote her first historical romance in response to a $1 bet with her husband who rashly claimed she’d ‘never finish the thing.’ She gleefully proved him wrong with a historical set in the Italian Renaissance. Her latest ‘Secrets & Spies’ Regency-era series for Random House Loveswept features her trademark feisty, intelligent heroines, wickedly inappropriate banter, and heroes you want to alternately strangle and kiss—all mixed up in the intrigue and turmoil of the Napoleonic wars.
When not traveling to exotic locations ‘for research’, Kate leads a double life as a fine art appraiser and on-screen antiques expert for several TV shows in the UK, each of which has up to 2.5 million viewers. She splits her time between Illinois and her native England and writes despite three inexhaustible children and a husband who has flatly refused to read any of her books ‘until she hits the NY Times Bestseller list.’ It is—naturally—her fervent desire to force the semi-illiterate, number-loving cynic to do so. He still owes her that dollar.

K.I. LYNN

K.I. Lynn is the USA Today Bestselling Author from The Bend Anthology and the Amazon Bestselling Series, Breach. She spent her life in the arts, everything from music to painting and ceramics, then to writing. Characters have always run around in her head, acting out their stories, but it wasn’t until later in life she would put them to pen. It would turn out to be the one thing she was really passionate about.
Since she began posting stories online, she’s garnered acclaim for her diverse stories and hard hitting writing style. Two stories and characters are never the same, her brain moving through different ideas faster than she can write them down as it also plots its quest for world domination…or cheese. Whichever is easier to obtain… Usually it’s cheese.

KRIS HACK

I love to read, write, and go camping, especially if it’s near a beach somewhere. My furbabies and hubby love the water and so do I! We go camping whenever we can and have a blast cuddling by the fire, eating s’mores and listening to the waves crash against the shore.
Reading is a long time passion of mine and I’ve always had trouble ending the books when I close them. Characters and scenarios would flow through my mind, further keeping me from much needed sleep. After a time, my own characters began running through my head, demanding to have their stories told.
I am the author of the Ascent series, my first published novel is The Ascension of Laney, a New Adult Paranormal Romance.

I am a mother, a wife, a daughter and sister, active in volunteering, a writer and a friend.  Not necessarily in that order, though.  I was born and raised on the South side of Chicago, Illinois during my early years then moved to the suburbs and lived there until my husband and our children relocated to central Indiana.  I’ve been exposed to many personality types and several interesting situations.  All of which provided opportunities to create heroes, heroines, villains and fictional towns to place my creations.
I started reading romance novels in high school when a friend introduced me to a Harlequin book. I thought  it was so refreshing that I bought another one, then another one and read them every spare moment I had. This was also around the time I developed a passion to write my own stories and I’ve been writing ever since.
I write romantic suspense.  Half of my novels are part of a 3-5 book series.  I’ve written a couple of contemporaries and I wrote my first paranormal that was contracted in 2013 and will be published in Summer 2014.
I have way too much fun creating people and building situations for them that has led me to accomplishing my true goal.  Publishing.
If you have aspirations of publishing a book, I encourage you to take steps towards making that happen.  A great start is to look up your local Romance Writers of America (RWA) chapter and attend a couple of meetings to see if it’s for you.  This organization has helped me learn not only the business of writing but the craft as well.  My critique partners are also great and I couldn’t have done this with out them.  Thank you guys!

LYNDA J. COX

Lynda J. Cox will tell anyone who will listen that she was born at least one hundred and fifty years too late, and most definitely in the wrong part of the country. Short of inventing a time machine to travel back to the Old West, she’s made herself content with writing about those “knights of the plains.” She holds a master’s degree in English with a concentration in creative writing from Indiana State University after earning her BA from the same university as a non-traditional student. (Think being old enough to be mom to 90% of the students in her freshman cadre.) She’s kept busy with two spoiled rotten house cats, a 30 plus year old Arabian gelding who has been nicknamed “Lazarus” for his ability in the later years of his life to escape death, and quite a few champion collies. When she isn’t writing, she can be found on the road, travelling to the next dog show. She loves to chat about books, the writing life, and the insanity which is called a “dog show” and can be reached through her Facebook page.

MAGGIE ADAMS

Hi! I’m Maggie Adams, although my fan club calls me Queen Minx because I do like a bit of naughtiness with my romance! I live near St. Louis, Missouri with my husband, aka, ATTRACTIVE OVER FORTY MAN. He’s also the head of my research and development (if you know what I mean *wink) I love dancing, cooking and reading and writing romance, especially erotic romance. I make sure each of my books has a little something about me in them, so keep your eyes open, I’m in there somewhere!

MARIA MONROE

Maria Monroe is an award-winning author from Chicago, with a master’s degree in Creative Writing from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Although she writes primarily contemporary romance, she’s delved into (and loves!) writing sci fi and fantasy romance, as well.
She lives with her amazing husband, three cool kids, and a ton of animals, including two rescue dogs, two adopted cats, a snake, some geckos, and a bunch of fish.
She loves black coffee, vodka on the rocks, and burning stuff in her back yard.

MARY MARTEL

Mary Martel was born in West Michigan and spent most of her life there. She currently resides in North Dakota with her two daughters and her husband. She loves reading, zombies, mermaids, and all forms of art.
I love being a mom and a wife. I’ve been married for 12 years to a man I would do anything for and have an 11-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter. I see so much of myself in both of them that it sometimes brings me to tears (happy ones).
I also love writing. Romance to be specific. I love the happily ever after that I believe everyone deserves. My stories aren’t ‘stop and smell the roses’ type romances. While I believe everyone deserves happiness and true love, I know that sometimes you have to walk a hard road to find it. Those are the types of stories I like to write. The happily ever after that wasn’t found, but earned. I work to earn mine on a daily basis and so do my characters.
I am also working on a children’s picture book series. Inspired (of course) by my kiddos. 🙂
On other ‘epic’ side-notes, I play acoustic guitar, sing, read like I get paid for it, and support a rather obsessive addiction to Pinterest.
I love to cook, which combined with my pinning addiction, leads to many experiments foisted on my unsuspecting husband and kids, mostly with good results. But sometimes, the dogs gets what the family refuses to eat. And they never complain.

R.K. GLEASON

I was born high in the Andes and raised by a band of wandering gypsies. At the ripe old age of 7, I struck out on my own, dabbling in the arts of alchemy and personal financing. Neither of the trades paid off. At 13 I became the personal juggler for Stephen King, but alas, that didn’t last long either. Since then, I’ve wandered aimlessly through life and this planet, stopping along the way to help people and smite the wicked.A little while ago I decided to try my hand at writing. I published The True Death series independently for The True Death and The Vengeful Death but was recently picked up and published by Love N Books.

SAMANTHA A. COLE

A proud member of Romance Writers of America (RWA), Samantha A. Cole is a retired policewoman and former paramedic who is thrilled to add author to her list of exciting careers. She has lived her entire life in the suburbs of New York City and is looking forward to becoming a snow-bird between New York and Florida someday. Her two fur-babies, Jinx and Bella, keep her company and remind their mom to take a break from writing every once in a while to go for a walk, which is the best way to deal with a stubborn case of writer’s block.
An avid reader since childhood, Samantha was often found with a book in hand and sometimes one in each. After being gifted with a stack of romance novels from her grandmother, her love affair with the genre began in her teens. Many years later, she discovered her love for writing stories was just as strong. Taking her life experiences and training, she strives to find the perfect mix of suspense and romance for her readers to enjoy.
While the original planned stories for the Trident Security series have been completed, the seven novels and two novellas have brought many opportunities for Samantha to spread her wings and bring her readers more characters and stories to love. Look for her upcoming Trident Security Omega Team series, Doms of The Covenant Novella series, Blackhawk Security series, and more from the Malone Brothers series, in addition to several standalone projects.

SARAH GRIMM

Sarah Grimm is an award -winning contemporary romance author addicted to fast cars, reading and laughter. She lives in West Michigan with her husband, two sons, and three dogs and has a penchant for dropping F-bombs like the rock stars she loves to write about.
Sarah can’t remember a time when she wasn’t writing. In fact, her siblings believe she began writing in utero to pass the time. As a child, Sarah wrote constantly, littering the house with bulging spiral notebooks and ignoring the ribbing of her mother and sister who routinely said ‘romances?’ in a somewhat scornful tone.
Sarah believes in love, not just as a fundamental part of human relationships, but as a force that can heal emotional scars. She truly believes someone exists for each of us—a person we are destined to find. Our other half. A soul mate. The road to happy-ever-after isn’t always an easy one, so when you pick up one of Sarah’s books, expect her characters to have to earn their happy ending.
Sarah is a member of RWA and NINC. She loves to hear from her readers. You can find her on Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Twitter, Goodreads, and Pinterest.

SAVANNAH VERTE

A lifelong lover of words and reading, Savannah Verte hasn’t quite figured out what she wants to write when she grows up. Born and raised in the upper Midwest, Savannah’s gypsy spirit and never quit attitude keep her busy and seldom idle. For so many reasons, Savannah considers herself a ‘Contemporary Vagabond’ when it comes to writing and hopes others find her diverse offerings as enjoyable to read as they are to write. Her first release in decades, Viva Zapata & the Magic 8-Ball began the current journey August 1, 2015. Her short story, What they didn’t know, was featured in the January/February BTS magazine, and she co-authored a paranormal piece, Kingdoms Fall, which came out in early 2016. Her next two solo ventures, the first two books in The Custos series -Book of Time & Book of Change released August 6th. She’s now working on her competition piece, Chasing Daylight for Cherry Adair’s Finish the Damn Book Challenge, Immortal Alchemy for an upcoming anthology, and an untitled piece for a charity anthology for JARM. There is a long list of titles to come after those are done too.
As the primary owner and driving force behind Eclectic Bard Books she considers herself immensely fortunate to see writing from varied perspectives as she endeavors to publish the authors rostered there. Working with other writers, Savannah gets to expand her horizons every day as someone brings a new idea to the table and the brainstorming begins. There is something addictive about the creative process for her and helping other authors embrace their dreams make hers a reality daily.
That’s the official Savannah, the unofficial version is just a girl who loves experiencing life with every twist and turn it takes. When she was born, she had such fine, light hair that her mother used to tape bows to her head so people would know she was a girl. She’s had a host of crazy unrelated jobs- everything from cake decorator, dry cleaner, and insurance agent to Emergency Room assistant, bartender, crime lab tech and bouncer. Savannah loves air hockey but completely sucks at it. She loves good jazz, good scotch, and antiques but also old rock, a quiet tea, and a tidy home. She’s completely technology impaired and can get it after she’s broken the computer or done it ass-backwards a few times… Thank Gods that there are some amazing meme creators that let her pilfer images or she’d be lost.
Lime green is her color, the rhinoceros is her logo & philosophy, and she’s completely mad about seeing new authors try.

SHAWN REILLY

When it seemed like I was only an F away from flunking out of the sixth grade, a retired school teacher took me under her wing. After some tutoring and testing, she informed my parents that the reason I was having trouble in school wasn’t because I was dumb but instead dyslexic.
When my stepfather heard this, he decided to take me to a used bookstore with the belief that the best way to improve my reading skills were to read.  Some of the books were hard to get through at first, but with his encouragement I refused to give up. We made many trips to that bookstore, and I especially loved the science fiction and fantasy sections.
Then one day, after complaining about the ending of a particular book, he told me that if I didn’t like the books I was reading, then to write one myself—so I did. My first attempt resulted in a horribly written western when I was fourteen, staring a cocky gun slinging cowboy by the name Curt Calhoun. Curt along with his seven brothers, who all shared C names in common, may never have seen the pages of a book, but that was the day I stared writing, and never stopped.
Shawn Reilly lives in the small town of Mt. Comfort Indiana with her husband, three daughters, and far too many pets. She grew up in the era of Star Trek and Star Wars. On Friday nights, with popcorn and Kool-Aid ready, along with her twin sister Jill, she watched Sammy Terry—a fictional vampire host of a local television station that played old monster flicks. The black and whites were her favorite. Eventually she began to write in the genres she loved.
She is the author of the paranormal/fantasy/ romance series The Union Series, Book #1 Call of the Raven, #2 Legend of the Raven, #3 Pursuit of the Raven, #4 Sacrifice of the Raven, #5 Curse of the Raven, #6 Allegiance of the Raven. Book #7 Rise of the Raven will be released spring of 2017. She also is the author of  the YA paranormal/fantasy/romance, trilogy Children of the Alliance, Bug, Spun, and Thread.

She’s always loved books and wrote her very first novel at the age of fifteen. She keeps a copy of her first submission letter on her desk for inspiration.
After a lifetime of traveling, she settled down and knew her time had come to write. Diving into her new career like she does everything else, with enthusiasm, research and a lot of prayers, she had her first book published in June of 2011. As a full-time writer, stay at home mother, and wife, there’s never a dull moment in her household.
She weaves her tales in spare moments and the evenings with a cup of coffee or tea at her side and the characters in her head for company. A self-professed rebel with a pen. Her goal is to diversify romance as she continues to genre hop, and offer up strong female characters.
