#WOTR22 #NewRelease #Erotic – Rescue Us, Next Generation Book 7 by JM Walker

Book Cover

-Ainsley-

He was kind.
Caring.
Patient.
Cyrus Butcher wasn’t like any man I had ever met before. He took his time with me. Opened up new feelings and made me realize that not all men were monsters.
Ripped from my life at a young age, I spent years in a hell I wasn’t sure I would ever survive. But I did. Only to become a shell of the woman I once was.
With him, the dark and handsome stranger who saved me, he helped me find my voice again. While he was gentle, I knew that there was a dominant man in him I needed.
As I opened up to him and gave him my truths, he showed me a passionate side to myself I thought was lost forever.
I was the pet he needed.
He was the Sir I craved.

-Cyrus-

She was quiet.
Withdrawn.
A good girl.
Ainsley Cloet was the submissive I had spent years looking for. She was passionate and fierce. The strongest woman I had ever met. But she kept those parts of herself hidden after spending years locked up at the hands of vile human beings.
While we became closer, my brother became moodier. Spending our lives trying to mask the pain of losing our parents at a young age, neither of us thought we could find the happiness we both deserved.
After earning Ainsley’s trust, falling in love, and making promises about our future, someone who had been lurking in the shadows the whole time finally let himself be known.
But no matter the damage that had been caused, I would be there.
At her side.
As her protector.
And as her Dom.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Oh Cyrus.  I may be wanting to claim you for my own.  I have fallen in love with many of JM’s men but since Garrith in her very first series, no one had captured my heart like you have.

Cyrus is patience like I have never known. When he sees Ainsley, he knows she might be what he is looking for.  He realized that whoring around with Sammy and having one-night stands was not doing it for him anymore.  He wants what his parents had.  He wants one woman to make him happy.  He wants the other half to his tormented soul.

Ainsley…what a back story.  She is broken.  She is battered.  She is the shell of her former self.  When she meets Cyrus, she sees a glimmer of “Maybe” with him.  He is kind, loving, sweet, understanding, and everything she needs to overcome her trauma.

The two start to see where things go and work on her trust and comfort.  The main problem is Sammy.  He is so worried about losing his brother he does tend to cause a few issues.  Plus, Ainsley fears she is being stalked.  She knows her past may be catching up with her and doesn’t know what to do to stay safe and keep Cyrus safe.

The two have a powerful dynamic. They both fall for the other hard and fast but the trust and emotional safety they build is amazing.  The chemistry is off the charts for the couple.  I admit I didn’t want the story to end and cant wait to see more of them in Sammy’s book.

Review by Twinsie Dee

I bought this book and this is my honest opinion

Derek just heard worst thing he’s ever heard in his life the judges gavel stating that his marriage is officially over. His wife Jillian filed for divorce because she was fed up with his parting and acting like he was single when she was home all the time raising their girls when he was on the road playing baseball. With the marriage final that gave Derek the biggest wake up call he ever had, it was time to get his shit together and get his family back at any cost. Jillian was heartbroken and hurt that she no had to send her kids overnight to their dad’s, she never wanted to file for divorce but he I didn’t have a choice. Will Derek get his head outta his ass and be able to win his wife and her heart back or did his one shot get thrown away with his past. Wow this was such a good story and of course throwing kids into the story line makes it better.

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I most of these titles are rereads for me.  It was so nice to read my favorite guy Clay/Jet in Feverish. My initial thought of Clay/Jet was still there after all this time. Others can have Daddy Brad, Ethan, and whoever else but I will stick with my Clay/Jet no matter what. He is a kind loving sole with a little bad boy in him, I get the best of both worlds.

I don’t normally like cheating husbands but oh man for Kage I will this time. Jessica is hired by Kage’s wife who thinks he is cheating. I enjoyed reading Kage and Jessica story. This is a great start to a series.

Katie has a job, home, and is engaged. When enters Johnny from her past. They have been best friends since middle school and she has had a secret crush on him since high school but Johnny only sees her as his best friend, or more like a sister. Until one day Johnny comes to visit and one kiss changes everything. Do they stay together or does she loose it all when Johnny finds out she is engaged?

I forgot about Megan and Tyler love lost/love found story.  I have to say Megan still annoyed me at times but so enjoyed reading them again.

While the others were re-reads this was a new one. I absolutely loved Piper she sees that Mike is not happy. When he is given the opportunity to play the band with old friends, she is all in no questions asked. It takes a special person to know when their spouse needs a change to get back their happy. received this book from the author for an honest review.

#Review #Review – Dark Moon Falls: Tucker – By: Susan Griscom

60042159. sy475

Welcome to Dark Moon Falls … where everything is not as it seems. It has secrets, shifters, romance, villains and so much more.

There are two ways for a one-night stand to turn sour.

One is not being able to perform.

And the other?

Well, I’ll leave that to your imagination.

Tucker was my one-night stand, and he had no problem performing. I’d been on my way to start a new life in the big city when I stopped in the Little Raven Bar to sow some wild oats, or at least have a drink to celebrate the beginning of my new adventure. Tucker was hot as hell and caught my eye the minute I entered the establishment. My night with Tucker was amazing and a huge mistake. But fate had a funny way of turning things around. Now I’m on my way back to Dark Moon Falls and my old room at my aunt’s. My dream job in the big city, now nothing more than a pipe dream.

Josie was a sight for sore eyes after a tough day on the job. Her quick wit and pretty face completely enamored me. After a few drinks and a desire to continue the party somewhere else, I found myself in her hotel room doing shots of tequila into all hours of the morning. There’s an old saying: tequila has a tendency to make your clothes fall off, and we were no exception. Everything was great until I woke up to find her not only gone but so were my keys along with my truck.

Goodreads

Review by Kelly

“Some of the best things that happen are spontaneous.” Perhaps a one night stand? I am not sure if I call this a fast burn or a slow burn type of book. Possibly a little of both. Tucker, a wolf shifter, has a one night stand with Josie, daughter of a witch, and their worlds get turned upside down. Josie leaves early in the morning to move out of town for work and neither of them got the other’s last name. A few months later Josie moves back to Dark Moon Falls with her aunt because she is pregnant and will need help. Guess who is a daddy? TUCKER! Both of them really like each other but Josie has this secret. Things get interesting as they get to know each other more, hence the slow burn. But wait, there’s more! Josie’s about to find out a secret about her family too! Then things really start to get all twisted up but in a very sweet way.

When I started the story I kept waiting to figure out when the bad guy was going to make an appearance and what type of crazy was going to come out. I was pleasantly surprised by Tucker’s story because it ended up being a beautiful love story in more ways than one. Love how this one warmed my heart in multiple ways. A must read for an extremely heartfelt happily ever after!

Susan Griscom, writes paranormal and contemporary romance. She’s hooked on gritty romances and is a huge fan of superheroes and bad boys confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers, and abilities beyond the norm mixed with steamy romance, of course.

She loves those days when she gets to sit around in her sweat pants, doing nothing but writing emotionally charged stories about love and violence and drinking coffee.

She lives in Northern California with her romantic husband and together they have five great superhero kids and eight mini-superhero grand kids, so far.

#Review Missing Parts by Lucinda Berry

Secrets never stay buried…

Growing up abandoned by her father and raised by a single mother, Celeste was determined to create the perfect family but even perfect families have secrets. Celeste’s days are filled with a rewarding career, a devoted husband, and her four-year-old daughter. Only Celeste knows the precarious house of cards her family is built upon until the day her daughter falls critically ill. Celeste’s world quickly spirals out of control as her secret threatens to destroy her marriage, family, reputation, and sanity. She’ll go to any lengths to protect her family—take any risk, break any law—anything except tell the truth.

“A natural fit for fans of Gone Girl-style narrators and fast moving plots— Closer Weekly

“A gripping psychological thriller…Read it in one sitting—Bookish Girl

Ok, so I had no idea what to expect when I started this book. Like normal, I just one-clicked and went in blind and man, am I ever glad I did. So first thing, IF you decide to read this book, I do suggest not reading the blurb and just diving right in. The ride and experience it took me on, was on a whole other level. I read one chapter yesterday and read the rest today. I haven’t done that in years. I haven’t WANTED to do that in years. It felt nice. Really really nice.

Now for the review.

We meet Celeste and David, who have a daughter named Rori. They’re a loving family but you can almost right away tell that something isn’t quite right. Celeste goes on about That Night and some of the thoughts she has toward her daughter, made me wonder what the heck was going on and why she would think those things toward her own flesh and blood.

Unfortunately, Rori ends up getting sick, really sick actually, and the doctors need to run some tests. And both of the parents. I had a feeling about one of the secrets that came out right away and I was right. I didn’t want to be right but I was.

Once those test results come back, things escalate from there. Rori is still extremely sick and things aren’t going too well for her parents either.

Something happens with Celeste and she ends up leaving. Now her reasoning for leaving completely makes sense. Did I want her to just man up and face the consequences? Yes. But I never actually thought that until now because again, I got it. It was frustrating to say the least but again, I understood. People can make rash decisions when trouble arises, especially if they think they committed a crime.

Celeste ends up moving to a new State and town and meets some amazing people. Fast forward a bit and she realizes she has to go home and come clean. So she does and man, I did not see it coming how this book ends. As a romance reader, it hurts, but as a psycholigical thriller reader, I get it. Do I like it? No. Not one bit. But one of the other things that come out, I predicted and I felt so bad for Celeste. Ugh my heart hurts just thinking about it.

Bottom line, I do highly suggest this book. It’s hands down my favourite of Lucinda Berry’s. Now on to the next one!

Born enemies – fated to be mates.

Kellan arrives in Dark Moon Falls full of purpose…and secrets. The Legion has given him one week to find his brother’s murderer, after that, the demons will descend upon Dark Moon Falls bringing with them death and destruction to all who stand in their way.

Kellan finds what he came for and so much more. He finds his one true mate in the process and is forced to make a choice between his Legion and his one true love.

Can Kellan save Samira from execution? Or will Samira be the one that does the saving?

Goodreads

Review by Kelly

It is very difficult to just BE when you struggle with who you are. To me, this sums Kellan up perfectly. He is a demon and he has to find his brother’s murderer. It doesn’t matter if his brother’s death was justified or not, right and wrong is completely out the window. Kellan is an incredible character and Samira compliments him perfectly. The tension and angst between these two is incredible. Even though they were born to be enemies, they are tied together by the fates. The fates, I tell ya, they are tricky bastards. You cannot fight them. These two do a lot of soul searching before finally succumbing to being with each other. But can you still trust each other? Whose family do you actually belong to and where do your loyalties lie? And true to Bella Roccaforte’s nature, be prepared for some crazy twists and turns that will surely keep you entertained. This is part of the Dark Moon Falls world but can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend.

Award Winning Author!

#WOTR22 #Paranormal #Shifters #Wolves #Witches #SpinOff #SeriesStarter – Rebel, Alumbra Pack Book 1 by AJ Renee

Rebel (Alumbra Pack Book 1) by [AJ Renee, Angie Wade]

He’d long given upon finding his mate, but when he does, is she too broken to trust their bond?
Meeting boys after curfew should have been innocent fun, but it turned Rosalia’s life upside down. Escaping the werewolf compound wasn’t an option, so she did her best to survive the twisted hell she’d been dragged to. Her dreams of having a real chance at life had been smothered by guilt and the realization she was too broken, even if she ever did see her loved ones again.
Peter had nearly given up on finding his true mate, but a mission to rescue a pack member’s sister leads him to Rosalia. If he’d known why she’d been impossible to locate, he would have left the pack in his beta’s care and moved mountains to save her sooner.
He must find the strength to rein in his wolf’s need to claim her and give her the necessary space to heal. Her body, heart, and wolf are at odds, with merely a thin string keeping her tattered spirit from coming apart. Can Rosalia learn to trust Peter, or are the jagged, invisible scars too deep?

Goodreads

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased this book.

I LOVED PETER!!  I mean I have loved him since meeting him in the Broderick series.  You do not have to read the Broderick series to read this book OR the following books in the series BUT I highly suggest it so you understand the relationships.

Peter…he is the best alpha.  He loves his pack and those he deems pack like the witches in the Broderick coven.  He is fierce in protecting those he loves.  He is happy with his life, but he yearns for his mate.  He is happy for Brandy and her siblings but…yeah why can’t he find HERE!!!  Our calm cool alpha is outta his mind lately and he is not sure WHY. He can’t focus and is just hot tempered which is not Peter.  When the pack and the coven go to save some women, he is beyond mad to see his mate there…in the room of abused and battered women AND a sister to Claudia.

Rosalie is the brave one of the group.  She has done lots of things that many would find disgusting to survive abuse and horrors.  When she realizes they are being rescued and its by her sister, she is overjoyed and then…..she sees him.  The large wolf is her mate. She is scared given she has seen how alpha tend to treat women.

Rosie and Peter have a lot to overcome but Peter becomes more the man we know and love.  He is doing everything to make sure she knows she is safe and wanted no matter what she as been through.  He is doing everything to put her at ease to him and his caring.  The waters these two navigate was pretty wicked at times but Peter never faulters.  GUYS I loved him even more!!!  GAH!!  PETER!!!

I am so excited for this series and absolutely love that the Brodericks are just as front and center in this series as Peter’s pack was in their story.  But I really wanna know whats up with Xander but Lea and Joel!! EEEEP!!!!

I cannot wait!!

AJ Renee is a military wife and mother to three young girls. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with her Master of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology while working at the library.

#Review The Secrets Of Us by Lucinda Berry

Dangerously addictive, The Secrets of Us is a pulse-pounding exploration of a disturbed psyche and the bond between two sisters desperate to escape a troubled past.

Foster sisters Krystal and Nichole have always been there for each other, so when Nichole is committed to a psychiatric hospital after trying to kill her husband, Krystal drops everything to defend her.

Scarred by a hard upbringing, Nichole and Krystal managed to construct comfortable lives for themselves. Krystal became a respected lawyer, and Nichole was happily married to an architect—until Nichole starts raving that her husband isn’t her husband, believing that he’s an imposter.

Driven by fierce loyalty, Krystal starts asking questions, but she’s not sure she can bear the answers. Her investigation leads to the sisters’ dark shared past…to a horrible tragedy and a well-guarded lie that cemented their sisterly bond.

But that lie can’t kill the truth—the battered, gasping, clawing truth that’s coming for them both. Now Krystal and Nichole must both fight for the lives they’ve built before they’re consumed by the one they left behind.

First, I really can’t thank Twinsie Tenise for introducing me to this author. Her books are like nothing I’ve ever read before and I’m slowly making my way through her back list.

The Secrets Of Us was my first 2022 read and what a way to start the year!

We meet foster sisters Nichole and Krystal who unfortunately didn’t have such a wonderful childhood. With an overbearing foster mom with strict rules and another foster sister who made life difficult for them, Krystal and Nichole realized rather quickly that they only had each other.

The book starts out with Krystal finding out her sister Nichole was in the hospital after a tragic accident happened involving both her and her husband. We learn that it wasn’t an accident and was completely intentional but what we don’t know, is why.

This book is filled with twists and turns, the usual Lucinda Berry way, and I was chomping at the bit trying to figure out what was what. It’s a who dunnit type story and we can’t figure out who is telling the truth or not.

One of the things I love about Lucinda’s books, is trying to figure out if my theory is right and usually, I’m wrong. Which makes it even more exciting when the truth comes out.

As per normal, I don’t want to give too much away and I do recommend going into this book completely blind. I didn’t read the blurb. Just saw the cover and that it was by Lucinda and dove in. I suggest doing the same!

What a wonderful way to start a new year of reading.

The sisters went through so much and while Krystal was trying her hardest to protect Nichole, it almost cost her her life in the end. But why? Read the book to find out more as I don’t want to give anything anyway. Just know, that like most of Lucinda’s books, if you think you know, you probably don’t.
