#wotr26 #attendingauthor #seriesstarter Roaring Fork Wrangler (Roaring Fork Ranch 1) by Heather Slade

He’s a Colorado wrangler forced to leave his ranch. She’s a small town girl who knows his family’s secrets. Will the truth put more distance between them than ever before?

CORD
I’m a Colorado man born and raised. The last thing I want is to head to a rural town in New York where there are farms–not ranches. And don’t try to tell me they’re the same. In order to save my birthright, I’m stuck here for a year. Problem is, I have no idea why and the one person who could tell me just died. When I meet Juniper, the voice inside my head says she can help me find what I’m looking for. And probably so much more. I know I shouldn’t get too close, but she’s irresistible. When all is said and done, and I pack up my gear and head home, will she just be a distant memory?

JUNI
I’m a New York girl born and raised. The last thing I want is to stay in this small town for the rest of my life. I’ve got my ticket to ride. When the cowboy from Colorado shows up, seeking answers to secrets I can help him find, I forgo my life in the big city. To put my dreams on hold for some sexy rancher may be the dumbest thing I’ve ever done. But in the end, will he just be a distant memory?

Everyone at Ryder High knows what it means to have a teal envelope taped to their locker on the first day of the month.

Penelope Monroe is no stranger to the secret admirer game. As an employee of the Dairy Bar, it’s her duty to make sure every participant comes into the shop at least once to work on a clue.

Or so her predecessor, Josh, demands.

Little does he know, it’s her turn for the teal envelope and to write her name on the white board.

Her admirer knows her love for video games. His clues come in form of a private room within the game, where she has to defeat the zombies in order to unlock information about him.

Penelope is suspicious—everyone in the game is anonymous, but one has to be behind it all.

Can she unlock the clues needed to unmask her admirer, or will it be game over?

New month a new its girl and our girl Harper is up. Harper is extra fun for this month because she is deaf but that doesn’t mean anything she is still a strong girl who has a great group of friends by her side. always trying to teach someone a proper way to sign something correctly with ALS but as long as they spoke slowly, she could read their lips most time. She’s defiantly one of a kind, her month was so fun to read and learning how her guy adapted for her. But the best part is that Harper is a legacy from when her parents were picked to play when they were in high school at Ryder. And with her mom gone it gave Harper a small piece of her mom back and to share something so special that only a few get to experience while a student at Ryder.

#review #audiobook #whychoose Bitter Brambles (Ivy Institute 2) by Albany Walker narrated by Brooke and Jake Bordeaux

I expected to die as soon as I stepped foot into the Ivy Institute, but dying would have been too easy.

Nothing at The Ivy is quite what it seems. Not the enigmatic demon whose touch kills everyone he touches, yet somehow saved my life the first day I arrived. Nor the dark deity combat instructor who vows to train me to survive the Undertaking. A deadly game held to entertain the Gods he’s forsaken.

The headmistress brought me here to be her secret weapon. She made it clear if I can’t be useful, I’ll be dead. When I’m torn from The Ivy and my mates, I’m certain she’s responsible.

Huddled in the icy cliffs of Mount Nivei lies Frostburn Institute where the cold will kill you nearly as fast as its inhabitants.

Death seems inevitable, until an unlikely ally makes himself known.

Nestled in the shadows of the Mori Forest lies The Ivy Institute. It may look like something out of a fairytale, but if the rumors are true, it’s where nightmares reign.

The only way to get into the elite facility is by invitation and, once received, it’s impossible to refuse.

They were never supposed to know I existed, yet here I am, walking toward the only place that might be more dangerous to me than where I grew up.

Secrets shroud the institute and its inhabitants, but I have secrets too. Secrets that will get me killed…or worse.

i was giving this audiobook by the author for a honest review

Last week I received my invitation to The Ivy Institute to train with all the others like me or so I’m told, my father got greedy and used me as his cash cow. I was almost unstoppable so when I got my invitation I was dreading it. al the Ivy Institute we were the elite from witches, vampires, shifters, healers and almost any kind of supernatural being you could think of now I was one of them, at my new home where I hope I would learn about my powers and hopefully survive. in a new place where I’m granted privacy and respect, I’m not sure what to do with it but I’m hoping they too aren’t taking advantage of me. this was a great read it started out a little slower for me, but I had just finished a different genre, so it took me a while to get into it but once it picked up for me it was fantastic as usual.

Blake is dead. They say his wife killed him. If so… which one?

Polygamist Blake Nelson built a homestead on a hidden stretch of land—a raw paradise in the wilds of Utah—where he lived with his three wives:

Rachel, the first wife, obedient and doting to a fault, with a past she’d prefer to keep quiet. Tina, the rebel wife, everything Rachel isn’t, straight from rehab and the Vegas strip. And Emily, the young wife, naïve and scared, estranged from her Catholic family.

The only thing that they had in common was Blake. Until all three are accused of his murder.

When Blake is found dead under the desert sun, all three wives become suspect—not only to the police, but to each other. As the investigation draws them closer, each wife must decide who can be trusted. With stories surfacing of a notorious cult tucked away in the hills, whispers flying about a fourth wife, and evidence that can’t quite explain what had been keeping Blake busy, the three widows face a reckoning that might shatter all they know to be true.

Review-

Miles from town lives the Nelson’s Blake and his three wives Rachel, Emily and Tina. this lifestyle is frowned upon by many. so, when the police show up on their front porch, Rachel couldn’t figure out why, but when they tell her Blake was found dead, she couldn’t believe it. one by one each wife gets interviewed by the detectives to try and figure out what happened these three are hard to crack and they are good liars. will the ops catch the killer who could be right under their noses or will they walk away. the killer will shock everyone when the pieces are put together, well if they are caught.

The murders of four innocent college students attending the University of Idaho left us all with so many questions. Now, after more than 300 interviews, James Patterson and prize-winning journalist Vicky Ward finally have the answers.

We know what it was like to live in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13, 2022, the day of the cold-blooded killings. We know what the local police and FBI did right. And what they did wrong. We’ve learned so much about the four heartbroken families—the Mogens, Goncalveses, Kernodles, and Chapins. And we have the backstory for Bryan Kohberger, brilliant grad student, loner, apparent incel.

Now you are the jury. The evidence is in.

Review- Maddie, Kaylee, Xana and Ethan since 2022 have been names that we have all heard on our tv screens and seen all over the internet. The Idaho Four is how they are known to the world now, 4 students at the University of Idaho that were violently murdered in their home one night. Moscow would never be the same again after that night on 1122 King Road when those 4 innocent college students whose lives haven’t really begun lost their lives by the hands of a monster. See a small glimpse into who they were before the world knew their names and they were just Maddie the light of her parents’ eyes, Kaylee 1 of 5 kids in her family, Ethan a triplet with Hunter and Maizie and Xana the life of the party and always taking her older sisters’ clothes when she got the chance. Ever since this story broke these families have been in many people’s hearts and the sad part is they will probably never know why this crime took place in the crime happened. also see a small part of the killer’s life, he doesn’t need it, but it was an interesting part. Maddie, Kaylee, Xana and Ethan will never be forgotten and never should.

All I Wank for Christmas is an irreverent, raucous romantic comedy standalone, sure to put you in the mood for a happy holiday season…no Happy Stroke Club needed.

Review- Holly was doing what she could to help out her family with her mom being sick and not able to work her dad left for milk and never came back and her little sister helping while going to school Holly’s job isn’t a normal one she’s a professional at giving hand jobs yes that’s right, definably not normal but it helps pay the bills and that’s what matters. but when a walk in comes thinking he’s getting a massage he’s definably in for one didn’t think he’d get. Jasper has eyes on Holly from the moment she left her room at her job and walked into the lobby and after his happy ending and the fact he knows more about her then he should know when never speaking to her before would be creepy for most. but when you are the heir and about to take over delivering gifts to all the kids it’s a gift of his. yes, Jasper is Santa Claus’ son and is soon to be the big man in charge. Jasper needs Holly’s help on the biggest night of his job, will she believe him and help or just think it’s all a dream, twist turns and if she helps, they might end up in a sex dungeon. oh, this is one night nether one will forget.

The worst thing to ever happen on Hemlock Circle occurred in Ethan Marsh’s backyard. One July night, ten-year-old Ethan and his best friend and neighbor, Billy, fell asleep in a tent set up on a manicured lawn in a quiet, quaint New Jersey cul de sac. In the morning, Ethan woke up alone. During the night, someone had sliced the tent open with a knife and taken Billy. He was never seen again.

Thirty years later, Ethan has reluctantly returned to his childhood home. Plagued by bad dreams and insomnia, he begins to notice strange things happening in the middle of the night. Someone seems to be roaming the cul de sac at odd hours, and signs of Billy’s presence keep appearing in Ethan’s backyard. Is someone playing a cruel prank? Or has Billy, long thought to be dead, somehow returned to Hemlock Circle?

The mysterious occurrences prompt Ethan to investigate what really happened that night, a quest that reunites him with former friends and neighbors and leads him into the woods that surround Hemlock Circle. Woods where Billy claimed monsters roamed and where a mysterious institute does clandestine research on a crumbling estate.

The closer Ethan gets to the truth, the more he realizes that no place—be it quiet forest or suburban street—is completely safe. And that the past has a way of haunting the present.

#review #audiobook Live in Love by Lauren Akins (narrated by Lauren Akins and Thomas Rhett)

When country music star Thomas Rhett won the ACM Award for Single of the Year with “Die a Happy Man,” his wife, Lauren Akins, was overjoyed. Her childhood best friend and now husband was being anointed the hottest new star in country music—for a song he had written about her. He was living his dream. Lauren was elated, but she was also wrestling with some big questions, not the least of which was, How can I live my own life of purpose?

Lauren Akins never wanted to be in the spotlight, but as Thomas Rhett made his relationship with Lauren the subject of many of his hit songs, she was tossed into the role of one of America’s sweethearts. Revered by fans for her down-to-earth ease and charm, her commitment to humanitarian work, and the pure love she exudes for her family, Lauren has never shared her side of their story—full as it’s been with deep love, painful loss, tremendous joy, and a struggle to stay grounded in faith along the way—until now.

In Live in Love, Lauren shares details about her childhood friendship with Thomas Rhett, explaining how they reconnected as young adults. She offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of being married to her best friend, who just happens to be a music star, and the struggle to find her own footing in the frenzy of her husband’s fame. And in heart-wrenching detail, she opens up about her life-changing experiences doing mission work in Haiti, and then in Uganda, where she met the precious baby who would become their first daughter. From sharing the romance of their handwritten wedding vows to the challenges they faced as they adjusted to the reality of becoming first-time parents, Live in Love takes an intimate look at one couple’s life—and opens a window into all of our journeys on the path to self-discovery.

Live in Love is a deeply personal memoir that offers inspiring guidance for anyone looking to keep romance alive, balance children and marriage, express true faith, and live a life of purpose.

Twinsie Dee review

I bought this book and here is my honest review.

my whole life I’ve been a fan of the Akins’ family. Rhett Akins was a staple in my childhood that when Thomas Rhett was becoming a star and playing on the radio it was great but now even though she didn’t like being in the spotlight, Lauren was now in the spotlight so when she wrote a book of course I was going to read it. Lauren gives her light and love for the lord, shows the behind the scenes of how hard life gets and how great it is when you can put your life in the lords’ hands. from losing a friend from childhood, marriage, mission trips, adoption and pregnancy Lauren doesn’t hold back. this was a great book and listing to it as Lauren and Thomas Rhett narrated made it even better.

Lauren Akins is a devoted mother, wife, and philanthropist who lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, country superstar Thomas Rhett, and their four girls. Lauren has been a passionate supporter and active volunteer for years and is enthusiastically continuing to support children in Uganda through her efforts with Love One International.

Before long, Lou finds herself torn between Fifth Avenue where she works and the treasure-filled vintage clothing store where she actually feels at home. And when matters come to a head, she has to ask herself: Who is Louisa Clark? And how do you find the courage to follow your heart – wherever that may lead? Funny, romantic, and poignant, Still Me follows Lou as she discovers who she is and who she was always meant to be – and learns to live boldly in her brave new world.

finally, I was able to go back into the world with Louisa Clark. oh, how much I missed this world, so after Will’s passing, and her finding new love with Sam, she couldn’t be happier in her life even though she misses Will terribly. But now she has moved to New York City to take a job as an assistant. Louisa has to now live in the states in a huge city but she’s loving every moment of it. Long distance with friends, family and Sam are difficult but she is getting through it. making new friends and memories that will last forever is what she needs. this was a great wrap up to this trilogy, and the audiobook was hilarious to listen to.

One thing Stella doesn’t like is being in the spotlight but when she is handed a brown envelope with the famous teal envelope inside, she froze. she didn’t want the attention but after some thinking and asking for the clues to be private, and the people in charge said that was perfectly ok it was game on. the clues are creative and challenging but our girl who has a notebook for every occasion is up for the challenge. every clue comes with a new notebook and a clue inside that has a way deeper meaning then she thought was possible. who could want to be her admirer she didn’t have a clue but now she had a few, Stella had the whole month to try and figure it out on a whim can he do it or will she have to back out.
