#wotr #attendingauthor #partofaseries Perfect Secret (Mason Creek 12) by Molly Mclain

A fake relationship with a sexy cowboy in a small town is never a good idea…

-Alana-

After high school, my plan was to leave the small town of Mason Creek and never look back. I thought I’d work my way through college while my long-time, bull rider boyfriend chased his rodeo dreams and took me along for the ride.

My own dreams of becoming his publicist and living the high life together on the ABR circuit were crushed when it became clear that my eight seconds was up. The buckle bunnies were suddenly more appealing than the girl with her nose buried in the books.

I’ve sworn off men, especially cowboys and bull riders.

That is, until I walk in on one in my shower, naked, wet, and built like he could break my heart… and my bed.

-Holden-

The rodeo has been my whole world, and all it took was one false accusation to bring it crumbling down. I cleared my name, but the organization I’ve given my life and my body to for the past seven years doesn’t give a damn. They don’t want the drama and right now they don’t want me.

That’s how I ended up in Mason Creek, hiding from the cameras while the dust settles and I can reclaim my reputation and my rank in the ABR. The last thing I need is to get messed up with a local girl, especially one who hates cowboys–bull riders in particular.

Our relationship may be just for show, but I see the opportunity for what it is…The chance to keep my secret a little longer and prove to Alana that maybe her problem with bull riders is simple…

She hasn’t ridden the right one yet.

oh lord it feels good to be back in Mason Creek!!! Alana lived there her whole life but went away for college and fell in love with a cowboy in the ABR circuit but when he broke her heart because buckle bunnies were more tempting than staying faithful, Alana focused all her time on work and school. she worked at the local grocery store and was hoping for one day to own it, she did everything else why not own it. but when her boss let her know that a ABR cowboy was going to live across the hallway she wasn’t having it but she didn’t have a choice. Will she be able to resist his charm or will this be the wildest 8 second ride of her life.

#review #truecrime #audiobook Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony by Jeff Ashton and Lisa Pulitzer, narrated by Jeff Ashton

Filled with explosive new information, this is the definitive inside story of the case that captivated the nation and the verdict that no one saw coming

It was the trial that stunned America, the verdict that shocked us all. On July 5, 2011, nearly three years after her initial arrest, Casey Anthony walked away, virtually scot-free, from one of the most sensational murder trials of all time. She’d been accused of killing her daughter, Caylee, but the trial only left behind more questions: Was she actually innocent? What really happened to Caylee? Was this what justice really looked like?

In Imperfect Justice, prosecutor Jeff Ashton, one of the principal players in the case’s drama, sheds light on those questions and much more, telling the behind-the-scenes story of the investigation, the trial, and the now-infamous verdict. Providing an inside account of the case, Ashton, a career prosecutor for the state of Florida, goes where the press and pundits have only speculated, detailing what really happened during the investigation, showing how the prosecution built their case, and explaining how a woman so shrouded in suspicion was proclaimed innocent.

Moving beyond the simple explanations, Ashton offers an in-depth look at the complex figure of Casey Anthony, a woman whose lies he spent three years trying to understand. And yet this focus on Casey came with its own risks; here he details how this widespread fixation on Casey—both in the media and in the trial—may have undermined the case itself. As everyone got caught up in the quest to understand the supposed villain, somehow the victim, Caylee, was all but forgotten—not just to the public, but more important, to the jury.

Complete with never-before-revealed information about the case and the accused, Ashton examines what the prosecution got right, what they got wrong, and why he remains completely convinced of Casey Anthony’s guilt.

from the man who was on the case. getting an inside look at the behind the scenes of the Casey Anthony trial. follow Jeff Ashton as he gets picked to be on the case for the prosecution team and trying to get justice for Caylee Marie. all the lies, stories and poor me, no matter how many times you listen or watch this case the lies are still shocking, and the not guilty verdict is still one that the world will never understand. Caylee Marie never got to grow up and have a childhood because of the horrible things that happened to her.

Diane Chamberlain is the New York Times, USA Today and (London) Sunday Times best-selling author of 28 novels. The daughter of a school principal who supplied her with a new book almost daily, Diane quickly learned the emotional power of story. Although she wrote many small “books” as a child, she didn’t seriously turn to writing fiction until her early thirties when she was waiting for a delayed doctor’s appointment with nothing more than a pad, a pen, and an idea. She was instantly hooked.

Diane was born and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey and lived for many years in both San Diego and northern Virginia. She received her master’s degree in clinical social work from San Diego State University. Prior to her writing career, she was a hospital social worker in both San Diego and Washington, D.C, and a psychotherapist in private practice in Alexandria, Virginia, working primarily with adolescents.

More than two decades ago, Diane was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, which changed the way she works: She wrote two novels using voice recognition software before new medication allowed her to get back to typing. She feels fortunate that her arthritis is not more severe and that she’s able to enjoy everyday activities as well as keep up with a busy travel schedule.

Diane lives in North Carolina with her significant other, photographer John Pagliuca, and their odd but lovable Shetland Sheepdog, Cole

#wotr #attendingauthor #partofaseries Tempting Taste (Cinnamon Roll Alphas 2) by Sara Whitney

She stopped in for cake and accidentally flambéd his life

Erik was always happy to watch customers taste his high-end wedding cakes from the safety of the kitchen.

But that was before the maid of honor sampling his chocolate hazelnut ganache picked a fight with the bakery owner and the situation… escalated.

Now Erik has bigger problems than losing his dream gig, and they’re all wrapped up in the chatty PR whiz who wants to apologize for the mess she made by turning him into Chicago’s hottest baker.

Josie’s the type of woman Erik’s always avoided: breezy, confident, and so frustratingly gorgeous that someday he’s going to slip and bury his fingers in her fiery red hair.

That’s the day he’ll show her just how well his salty and her sweet combine.

That’s the day it’ll all go up in flames.

Josie went to help her best friend with his cake tasting for his upcoming wedding and since his husband to be out of town she offered to help, but when the bakery turns them away because it’s the same sex getting married and she doesn’t approve of that lifestyle, Josie and Richard storm out of the bakery. Following them was the head baker who finally took his earbuds out to listen to what was happening, so he quit on the spot and took his recipes with him and offered to make Richard’s wedding cake for him. lots of craziness happens and next thing Josie knows she’s making a marketing and graphics for Erik’s new bakery business, will they be able to get this new business up and running, and only bake cakes or will they end up baking the sweetest recipe of all between the two of them. frosting, flour, sugar and all other ingredients are flying when it comes to these two.
Sara Whitney writes spicy rom-coms so addictive, you’ll finish them in one sitting and immediately stalk her for the next book. Her sassy heroines and alpha-sweet heroes who’ll make you laugh out loud on one page and absolutely wreck you on the next.

A recovering journalist and film critic who went rogue and got a Ph.D., Sara splits her time between professing, writing swoony smut, and badgering her friends to watch her latest TV obsessions. She lives in Illinois in a house with hot pink hallways and three sweet but sociopathic cats who’d like you to know they’re on the brink of starvation (despite their ample proportions as evidence to the contrary). Through it all, she survives on Swedish Fish, overly sweet coffee, Yankees baseball, and the unwavering belief that red lipstick can fix almost anything.

When he’s not writing, Maverick can be found tinkering with cars or dreaming of his next project, usually no more five in his mind at once or he can be hiding out in his man cave surrounded by comic books, stacks of video games, and story ideas waiting to be unleashed. Equal parts snark and grit, he pulls his inspiration from Dick Tracy and Punisher comics, or indulging his wife’s latest project antics while figuring out ways to avoid admitting she’s right.
