#Contemporary #NewRelease #Review Inked Memories (Montgomery Ink book 8) by Carrie Ann Ryan

The Montgomery Ink series by NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues when the final Denver Montgomery sibling refuses to fall for his brother’s former flame—the company’s new plumber.

Wes Montgomery watched his entire family fall in love, and now finds himself ready to settle down. Except the one person he seems to find chemistry with is not only his twin’s ex, she also works for Montgomery Inc. But when the two find themselves in one compromising situation after another, Wes realizes he’s having second thoughts about the dynamic woman who’s burst her way into his life. Sure she sets off his temper, but she also makes him hot in every other way possible.

Jillian Reid never loved her best friend like everyone thought she should, so she pushed him away so he could have his future. Now, despite fighting it, she finds herself attracted to the one man she shouldn’t. When her father’s health takes a turn for the worse, and a danger no one saw coming show its face, she’s forced to turn to Wes for help. The two of them have fought off their attraction long enough, and each cave to the desire. But this enemies-to-lovers tale might have an ending no one ever dreamed of.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

I was both sad and excited to start Wes and Jillian’s story. Sad because Wes is the end of the Denver Montgomery family; the start of it all, excited because we will soon be starting on a new branch of the family,
Wes and Jillian have had a heck of a start. Jillian is the Montgomery Inc.’s new head plumber, her best friend and ex “friends with benefits” is Storm Montgomery, who is also one of her new bosses.
Wes has a hard time understanding the relationship between Storm and Jillian. How can they be so friendly after ending their relationship? How is she so friendly with his new fiancé? Why do he and Jillian do nothing but fight and why is he so attracted to her?
Jillian is super excited for Storm and Everly, yes they were a thing, but they weren’t really together. She also is busy with her new job at Montgomery Inc and taking care of her father, but she decided that it’s time for her to find her happy like Storm and Everly have found theirs.
Wes and Jillian are so attracted to each other, thus the fighting, and neither know what to do about it. It’s crazy!! Lol
They decide to stop fighting it and go for it and boy do they go for it. Wes and Jillian are perfect for each other and now that they decided to try to be a couple the realize that the fighting was just fore play and they are perfect for each other.
There are lots of things going on in this book that keep you reading. Wes is jumped, there is lots of mysterious break ins and vandalism at a new job site, a death, a Montgomery Family Reunion, the feels are all over the place and it’s great.
Ryan could not have ended this branch of the Montgomery family on a better note or with a better couple.

#NewRelease #ReverseHarem #Review #Paranormal – Blood: Under the Skin Book 1 by K.B. Ladnier

Blood: Under the Skin Book 1

***This is a reverse harem romance. Recommended for ages 18+ because of strong language and steamy sex scenes***

Lucy Bryant loves bright and pretty colors, girly clothes and music from pretty much any era before the 90’s. Oh…and she’s a vampire.

A vampire who also happens to be the only tattoo artist that can tattoo another vampire and make it stay. She’s lived a peaceful life as a blood sucking creature of the night so far, but all of it changes with a single tattoo.

Vampires across the city are changing, turning into the monsters humans always feared they would become. The Supernatural Task Force has sent an agent to find out what she knows in hopes her information will help bring down those responsible.

If that wasn’t enough, Lucy is now thrown into a predicament she never thought she’d face. Her long time werewolf lover, the sexy mysterious agent, and a sociopathic vampire who has a deeper connection with her than she could imagine, are vying for her heart.

Drugged vampires, a glitter obsessed best friend, a black hammer named Betty, and an Ancient vampire hell bent on taking over the city, are just a few things she’s dealing with in her new normal.

What’s a vampire to do when the best option seems to be just locking herself away in her coffin?

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This is one of the funniest, sexiest series I have read in a long time.  I mean I was cracking up at the crazy shenanigans that Lucy goes through.  #ThisVampHatesGlitter

Lucy is dealing with her attraction to 2 different and then 3 different men.  She loves and she loves hard.  These men will do anything to help her deal with being attacked and kidnapped for reasons unbeknownst to them.

The plot is solid.  The twists are great.  The build-up for the next book is there and great all the while never taking away form Lucy’s story.

If you are a paranormal fan then this series is a great read.  I read it mainly as a serial so I read it a few chapters at a time.  I guarantee if you buy the whole series as a complete book, you won’t be able to stop once you start.  I laughed sooo many times because Lucy and Co are hilarious!!

K.B. Ladnier is from a small city in Southern Mississippi. She has one daughter and three cats who she claims are stealing her soul in only tiny doses so she won’t notice. She is a cyborg and spends most of her time hiding from her tiny human so she doesn’t have to share her snacks as she reads her favorite books. She hates the beach yet lives only ten minutes away from it and daydreams of mountains and snow. She is married to a hot nerd and loves him dearly even though he hordes cookies and occasionally hides her prosthetic leg from her when she’s mad, so he can get a quick escape. She plans to write as long as people continue loving what she does, otherwise she’s going to say screw it and do her second dream of owning a coffee shop. Though, she may still do both.

#NewRelease – The Proposition by Elizabeth Hayley

Professional hockey player Ben Williamson doesn’t quite know how he got himself into this situation; hiring someone to be his date to his brother’s wedding is way out of character for him. But with family pressuring him to settle down, going stag just isn’t an option. It would just be one more thing his polite, cultured family uses as ammo against him.

Ryan Cruz is having a bad day. Wait, make that a bad year. Broke, technically homeless, and living on a friend’s couch, she’s now also unemployed after her sharp tongue gets her fired from her job. So when a handsome stranger approaches her out of the blue with a proposition–he’ll pay her to be his date to his brother’s wedding for the weekend–accepting his offer is a no brainer. She needs the cash and figures it wouldn’t be in the best interest of a professional athlete to murder her.

What starts as a simple business arrangement soon becomes more as these opposites attract and get caught up in the wedding magic. Will Ben and Ryan be able to turn their relationship into something more? Or is love based on a proposition too much of an obstacle to overcome?

AMAZON | iBooks | B&N | KOBO

Ryan heard a “Ben, go after her” from behind her as she hurried toward the door. She thought his mother had said it, but she couldn’t be sure. Her ears were too busy ringing with the force she was exerting to hold back her tears.

She’d made it to the driveway before she heard Ben call her name. She ignored him as she made her way to the rental car.

He caught up to her right as she reached it. “Ryan,” he breathed.

She turned toward him and held out her hand. “Keys.”

“What?” he asked, looking flustered.

“Give me the keys, Ben.”

“No, let me . . . let me take you back. We can talk and—”

“I have nothing to say to you. And I’m sure as hell not getting in a car with you.”

“Ryan, please let me explain.”

“You have. I got the message pretty clearly inside. Seems like everyone else did too. It was quite a show.”

Ben ran a hand over his head. “I didn’t mean to say that. It just came out. I was angry, and—”

“Jesus Christ, Ben! Stop. You’re not an eighteen-year-old kid anymore. You can’t use your anger as an excuse for saying shitty things. Besides, it’s not like you didn’t say anything that wasn’t true.” Ryan shrugged. “They know the truth about me, and I know where I stand with you. It was for the best.”

“That’s not . . . that’s not where you stand with me. You’re more than that.”

Ryan laughed humorlessly. “No, I’m not. I’m not even that actually. All I am is an out-of-work waitress who was desperate enough to let some guy think she was an escort.”

The startled look on Ben’s face would’ve been comical if it wasn’t for the fact that Ryan was pretty sure she’d never laugh for real ever again. “Wait, you’re not an escort?”

“Well, I mean, I guess I am now. Thanks for that resume builder, by the way. But before I met you? No. I was just some girl trying to figure out how she was going to make ends meet after I quit waitressing at a crappy strip club. And then you barged into my life and offered me a better alternative. So I took it.” Ryan had managed to keep her emotions in check, but time was running out on that. “But now it’s over. So give me the keys.”

After a moment’s hesitation, Ben pulled the keys out of his pocket, but he toyed with them instead of handing them over. “I don’t want it to be over,” he said softly.

“Well, it really doesn’t matter what you want. There’s no coming back from that. We both know it.”

“I don’t know that.”

She sighed. “Then I guess you never really knew me at all.”

Title: Perfect Match

She’s the matchmaker…he’s her sexy client. What could go wrong?

Fia Martin has a tough job: Find the perfect woman for arrogant, handsome Dylan Chambers, before her rival can do it––on national television. If Dylan declares her the winner, Fia’s match-making business will skyrocket.

Dylan is picky. He’s smug. He reminds Fia that he doesn’t believe in true love. The dates she sets up for him end in complete disaster. And every time she tells him to behave, he flirts with her shamelessly.

A stolen kiss turns to a night of unbelievable passion and the best sex of her life…but Fia knows that Dylan’s not interested in more than a fling, because he’s still going on dates for the challenge like nothing happened.

When Dylan chooses her competitor’s company for his final dream date in Hawaii, to a woman who looks perfect on paper, Fia figures she can kiss the trophy goodbye. The problem is that she’s about to lose her heart, too…to the one man who’s completely unavailable.
“I’d love to live here,” she murmured, reaching out to touch the closest sculpture, a gorgeous creation with swirling green and blue, like an ocean in glass, then drew back a finger, to check his face. “This is the prettiest thing I’ve seen in long time. Can I touch?”

“You can touch anything you want.” His eyes met hers evenly, and she thought she’d seen something open in his expression when she’d complimented his art, something warm and bright.

She didn’t look away, even as she put her hand down to blindly find the smooth glass, running her hand over it. “It feels good.”

He smiled. “I would hope so.”

They stood looking at each other, then he spoke. “Fia?”

“Yes?” She could barely breathe.

“One night. Just to get it out of our system. What do you say?”

“What?”

“No holds barred, one night of passion. You and me. Look, I get what you feel about your clients. And you know I’m not looking for anything long term. But we both want each other pretty fucking badly.”

She sucked in a breath.

“So, let’s just go for it. Seize the day. Take advantage of the chemistry. I promise you I will make it so fucking good, Fia.”

For a second she thought about saying no, but the desire could no longer be denied. She didn’t bother replying, but walked right up to him, wound her arms around his neck and lifted her lips to let him claim her with his mouth.

“Fuck,” he murmured, and his hands were on her back, on her ass, pulling her into him as he plundered her mouth with his tongue.

She pressed herself into him, delighting to feel his hard chest against her breasts, and lower, another hardness entirely that indicated how much he wanted her.

“Take off your shirt,” she muttered, pulling at the buttons. “So sexy. But off.” She managed to undo two of the middle ones, and slid her palm into the pocket she’d created to touch his muscular chest. “You feel so fucking good.”

“Your dress comes off first,” he whispered into her ear. “My rules.”

“Why should we play by your rules?” she asked, letting her eyes shut as he kissed and bit down her neck, moaning when he licked her clavicle.

“Because you’ll like it,” he promised. “Want to see?”

“Are you some kind of kinky dom or something?”

He laughed. “Or something.”

Her eyes flew open, but she felt more excitement than concern. “Really?”

He ran a finger down her cheek. “Really.”

“Like, tie-me-up-and-spank-me stuff? Tell me what to do stuff?” Her heart started to race.

“If you like that, then, yeah, I can do that for you.” He ran a hand down her arm, slowly, and they both watched his long fingers stroke her skin. She sucked in a breath at how erotic it felt. “I like almost anything, Fia, so you just tell me”—and he leaned in and put his mouth right at her ear—“What. You. Fucking. Love.”

She whimpered and grabbed at him. She’d always dreamed of being with a man who was unapologetically sexy, so in tune with his body that he could master hers and bring her exquisite pleasure. She didn’t want hard-core BDSM, but she definitely wanted, no craved—for him to take control.

“I might like what you said,” she whispered into his neck. “The tying up and spanking. As long as nobody knows we did this.”

He let his fingers stray to her breasts, which he stroked through the dress. “You like a little pain, with your pleasure, Fia?”

“A little. Not too much. Yes.”

He squeezed a nipple, and she cried out, but it was from passion, not dismay. She started breathing harder.

“You think you’d like doing what I ask?” He bit her neck, and she almost combusted. But she needed to clarify before they went further, just so she could relax and enjoy the moment completely.

“What are your other rules, besides the shirt thing?” she asked, pulling away. They were both breathing hard. She slowly slid the straps of her dress down her shoulders. “If I like what I hear, I just might obey.”

A muscle clenched in his jaw, and he smiled a dark, dangerous smile. “For starters, you don’t come until I say you can. But don’t worry…it will be often.”

She sucked in a breath and lowered the dress an inch, and his eyes shot to her breasts, where the creamy skin was slowly being revealed. “And?”

“And you’ll do what I say, when I say it. For instance, if I tell you to come lay down over my lap so I can spank you, you’ll do that.”

“Interesting.” She licked her lip and felt a surge of moisture between her thighs. “You’d honor a safeword, of course.”

“Of course.” He gave her the dark grin again. “You could just tell me to stop. But what word do you want?”

She pulled the fabric still lower so her areolas were visible but not her nipples. “Red. Keep it simple.”

“Good choice.” His voice rolled over her. “Keep going. Show me your tits.”

“What if I don’t do it?” She met his eyes.

He unbuttoned one sleeve and began to deliberately roll up the fabric, little by little. “You want to find out?”

First, this cover! I mean, who wouldn’t check the book out with a cover like this?! Second, the premise of the book promises lots of supernatural and ghouls alike! I mean, duh! YES, PLEASE! I have not read a story like this before. It definitely takes the paranormal world to a new level. This story is hilarious, witty and a bit on the morbid side in a fantastical way. Ember is just a teenage girl who is trying to get through life. She has had a terrible childhood and when her alcoholic father dies her world really does turn upside down. Her life goes from complicated to unrecognizable. There is a huge amount of characters ranging from our softies to the baddies. Most have a supernatural ability. And when they are all put together the story explodes! Naturally we have many secrets that are going through the process to be revealed but most truths come with more questions. Ember is really just trying to figure herself out and when she finally finds where she is supposed to be she isn’t sure if she can live up to what everyone expects her to be. She is drawn to the dead, like a moth to a flame, and she has no idea why. What I love about this book is how the story comes to life. The author does an incredible job with bringing all of the characters into play and giving them all a voice. We get to experience the monsters, illusions, redemption, fear, doubt, jealousy….just all the feels! This is absolutely one of my new favorite books. In fact, when I finished the book I went right out and purchased the second because I HAD TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! And I was not let down in the slightest. Trust me, you need to read this!

#Review – SHIFT (Mackenzie Grey #1) by Karina Espinosa

SHIFT (Mackenzie Grey: Origins, #1)

It’s hard enough being an undergraduate student, an intern at Downtown Manhattan’s police station, and a bouncer at a local bar. Add her now ex-boyfriend who recently dumped her for the school’s resident bimbo—oh, and she’s a werewolf.
Mackenzie Grey meets her match when she is kidnapped by the Brooklyn Pack and tossed between Sebastian and Jonah—the Alpha and the Beta. Being a lone-wolf in the city is dangerous, and now that the Pack has found her, so can every supernatural being in the Tri-State area. And not even her sarcastic, smart mouth can get her out of this.
When a string of kidnappings involves Mackenzie in supernatural politics, she questions her new acquaintances and finds unlikely allies. Can she escape Pack law and keep her freedom—or will she be condemned to an unwanted path?

Goodreads

This is such a great book! A kickass heroine who is bending all the rules and showing she can play with the big boys! I actually won this book during a book release party. I have never heard of this author but I do LOVE a good shifter book. I was a little put off at the first sentence because it starts with how her ex-boyfriend left her for a bimbo. I didn’t want the book to be a bunch of high school type stuff but I was proven wrong and very fast. Mackenzie is this college student who is a werewolf. She is not sure how it happened and has no one to talk with about this change. She has an amazing friend, Amy, who reminds me of the saying “dynamite comes in small packages”. A trio of werewolves doesn’t make her quiver. Mackenzie has a strength and confidence about her that gets her a job as a bouncer at a nightclub. She runs into the local pack and this becomes trouble. She is still trying to wrap her head around the whole mess while attempting to get answers from them about her. She is having an extremely difficult time with the pack as she is unwilling to bend to their practices and rules. There are many tough decisions, things that could scar her for life, but she takes it in stride as she understands that sometimes you have to break the rules. She is still an extremely independent woman but has to lean on someone when things continue to go awry with her ex and the kidnappings that are now involving her. This is an extremely witty and cunning story that is full of badassery. I got absolutely sucked in and could not stop until the end and even then I needed more. I will be continuing this journey of Mackenzie’s. It’s absolutely captivating. Kudos to the author!

#WOTR #NewRelease #Review – Magic and Mayhem: Wicked *itch (Kindle Worlds Novella) Kindle Edition by Teresa Gabelman

Magic and Mayhem: Wicked *itch (Kindle Worlds Novella) by [Gabelman, Teresa]

What do tattoos, witches, vampires, a sexy shifter, and an earring-wearing cat have in common…? Definitely something WICKED!

Being a woman in the tattoo business isn’t easy, but Wicked makes it work. But being a witch with a headbanging, rock ‘n’ roll familiar, and having a sexy panther shifter as a landlord makes life… interesting. Throw in some vampire warriors and a whole town of shifters, and things are bound to get a little crazy.

Drop in and visit the town of Assjacket for this wickedly hilarious mixture of paranormal personalities.

Goodreads

Amazon

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I want to start by saying I loved this cover it is different than any of Teresa’s other books. However, it is what is beneath the cover that impressed me the most. Really how can you go wrong with a strong witch, a talking cat, and a hot as hell panther shifter…and add in one of the funniest VC Warriors you have a winner. To top this off the town is named Assjacket yes you read that right.  OK OK back to the review.

In Assjacket (LOL I just love that) a town full of shifters is a witch named Wicked (yes, Wicked Witch…I know great right) who owns a tattoo shop outside of Assjacket. She lives there with her familiar, Bruce, a head banging sarcastic talking cat. Let’s talk about her landlord for a minute (oh lord let me fan myself a minute) he is a scrumptious Panther shifter name Thorne and yeap he can be a Thorne in Wicked’s side. Anyway Wicked would love to do wicked things to Thorne but manages to keep those thoughts to herself…well and Bruce.

When trouble comes her way she finds help waltzes through her door.  All I can say is the fun loving Vampire, Steve, had me in stitches especially when you toss Bruce in that mix. I did love seeing the VC warriors and their witches in this.

The chemistry between Thorne and Wicked was electric. Wicked is such a strong character but does not over power Thorne’s.  However, Wicked keeps Thorne on his toes.  I sure hope we see more of Wicked, Thorne and of course Bruce in the future.

I do enjoy these kindle world books. To see two worlds come together to make something new is great.

After ten years, Brylee Whitmore has returned to our home town, giving me my shot at revenge. I thought it would be simple, but she’s changed. I was supposed to make her pay for what she’s done, so why do I feel like I have to fix her instead?

Coming home was a mistake.
If my dad wasn’t sick, I would have stayed away. Chase Foster plans to exact his revenge, and I deserve it. I’m supposed to pay for my sins, but now he wants to fix me instead. Too bad there’s nothing left to fix.

One Tragedy.
Two broken people.
Can he forgive her?
Can she forgive herself?

I receive this book from the author for an honest review.

This book is so not like any book by this author that I have ever read.  It grabbed me, ruined me and made me cry huge ugly snot sobs.  So, of course, I loved this story!!

The story is about our character, Brylee, who makes a bad decision which them causes them to reevaluate their life.  She now feels like she is not worthy.  She moves away to try and out run these memories.  However, when she has to return home for her father’s funeral she runs smack dab into her past.

Chase has been the love of Brylee’s life since FOREVER.  Chase, however, is not so thrilled with her return and is looking to pretty much make her life miserable for her past.  The more time Chase and Brylee spend together we can see their opinion’s of each other are changing too.

There was so much happening in this book.  There were so many times I was reading and I would yell PLOT TWIST!!  This book is such an amazing read and one that will destroy you in the best of ways!

A Midwesterner and self-proclaimed nerd, Evan has been an avid reader most of her life, but five years ago got bit by the writing bug, and it quickly became her addiction, passion and therapy. When the voices in her head give it a rest, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand. Some of her favorites include, Shayla Black, Jaci Burton, Madeline Sheehan and Jamie Mcguire. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, so if you see her wearing her headphones you know she means business and is in the zone.

During the day Evan works for a large homecare agency and at night she’s superwoman. She’s a wife to Jim and a mom to Ethan and Evan, a cook, a tutor, a friend and a writer. How does she do it? She’ll never tell.
