I purchased this book.

I abso love Lyssa’s books.  Her characters make my heart so happy.  I fall head over heals in love with each of her men because she writes the sweetest alpha’s every….sigh.

SO this review is for book 2 in the set of novella’s.  This is Lorenzo and Antonia’s story.

We saw the twinkle in their eyes for each other in the first story but this is all about the untraditional love story between these two friends and one time lovers.

Lorenzo has had a think for Antonia for as long as he can remember.  He dreams of the day when she will see him for the man he is now and not the young boy he was once.

Antonia can’t remember being loved by another like she was with Lorenzo.  However, she doesn’t seem to love herself enough and settles with a DB of epic proportions until Donovan gives her a giant ultimatum.

Antonia runs to her friend, Lorenzo, who then helps her deal with the repercussions of her decision along with pick up the pieces of her shattered life.

Can I say I wanted to throat punch Antonia a few times, but sweet baby Jesus did I love Lorenzo and His strong silent character was so what she needed and what she deserved.

 

Lyssa Layne is first, and foremost, the proud momma to her precious daughter, AR. In addition to working full-time and being a mommy to AR, she is also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, a runner, blogger, and an infertility survivor.

Having watched one too many medical dramas and being inspired by author Rachelle Ayala, who introduced her to the world of indie writing, Lyssa decided to try her hand at writing a romance story.

When and Why did you start to write?

Several years ago while recovering from my fourth knee surgery, I decided to try and write one of the many stories floating through my head.

OMG I dont think I have ever said this before but THIS BOOK WAS FUN!  I felt like I was in 5th grade reading a MUCH naughtier book but still fun!!

Ok I can’t really review this book because my naughty choices are not what your good girl choices might have been, but I am jumping back in to see what other turns I could make.  Seriously this was fun!!  I kept laughing at “what should I do?”  go on the one-night stand or get to know more then just his first name…hell yeah I took the one night stand out of the gate…LOL

Anyway, I think if you are looking for something new and fresh this is it.

Incidentally, that was when I remembered that the material was NOMEX, but instead of being relieved, I was left with more questions than answers. I felt the moisture on my cheek as a tear escaped, before being lifted onto a stretcher and driven away from the devastation.
I wanted to wail and scream, but I’d caused this.
Not so very long ago, the sirens wailed loudly and the world that I’d known ceased to exist.
I discovered that, sometimes, it’s not giants with booming voices or cackling witches who swoop down from the sky—it’s not even a curse cast by an enchantress. Shannon is a born and raised Texan. She grew up inventing clever stories, usually to get herself out of trouble. Her mother was not amused. *Puuuurrrrring* Hey Dell.  Where have you been all my life.  Man, I was so not expecting you to knock my socks off like you did but geesh is Ross a lucky chick.

Dell is the quiet guy.  The guy who you can rely on to kick some a$$ when it is needed.  He is the guy you know will follow through on orders so when he is faced with this new dilemma of claiming his mate FINALLY annnnd taking on more pack responsibilities, he steps up in a BIG WAY!!

Ross has been through A LOT but we have only seen the ice burg of the horrors and abuses her step-brother Carl put her in and through.  When her past comes into town and threatens her new happy life, she makes some pretty bad decisions that will hurt her, Dell and the pack in general.

Don’t Be Afraid by CA Harms

I receive this book from the author for an honest review.

I don’t know if I will be able to get through this review without stopping to blow my nose or wipe the streams of flowing tears from my eyes.  Sweet Baby Jesus I am completely destroyed in the most beautiful of ways.

This book is such a simple idea but CA writes it with such depth of emotion if you don’t cry you must be a heartless person!  LOL  The story is all about love.  Pure and simple love.  The love of a man and wife.  The love of 2 brothers willing to do for each other and their family.  The story is about what happens when one person loses the love of their life or the person they consider to be their brother.  How do the remaining two continue on without their missing link plus what happens when feelings begin to develop between the remaining people?

Sawyer has had a sad life and when she meets Pat everything clicks for her.  She seems to have a golden life with the man of her dreams.  When Cancer tears her happily ever after apart she learns to lean on Gage.  Gage and Pat have grown up together and are brothers.  When Pat asks Gage to watch out for his family. Gage does it because his feels Sawyer is his family too.

The story has me sobbing through most of the beginning of the book.  Chapters 14 and 21 had me a hot mess so be warned!!  But as the middle to end of the story is being told we are facing life without our Rock Pat but also looking to Gage for MORE.  The end of the book throws a few amazing scenes that made my dried eyes begin to leak full force again.

The emotion and depth of story totally knocked me for a loop.  I was stunned at how well CA Captured the emotion of each character in the story.  The anger Pat felt.  The sadness Sawyer felt, and the guilt Gage felt.   Such a raw and emotionally gritty story this book is intense so be ready with the tissue.  Be ready to have some Tylenol to help with the raging headache you will have from the snot sobbing tears you will be shedding!!

C.A. Harms is a lover of HEA stories, mixed with a little heat and drama make it perfect. She needs some excitement, some angst, and moments that make her fan her face are always good too. She’s an Illinois girl, born and raised. Simple and true, it honestly doesn’t take much to make her happy. She loves the little things; they truly mean the most. She may have a slight addiction to her Keurig—oh my, that thing is a godsend. And so fast too. She is the mother of two children who truly are her very best friends, and their faces never fail to put a smile on her face. She has been married to her husband for eighteen years, and looks forward to many more. Even after all these years he is still able to make her heart skip a beat.
She is one of those authors that adores her fans and loves to hear from them. After all, it is because of each one of you that she continues to write.
