#Review – Knight by Kristen Ashley

Knight (The Unfinished Heroes Series Book 1) by [Ashley, Kristen]

synopsis

Anya Gage has learned that to get anything good in life, you have to work for it. She has no expectations, no dreams.

Then she finds herself at a party where she doesn’t want to be and she meets Knight.

Knight Sebring knows who he is, what he wants and what he likes. And he gets it. But he never expected something as sweet as Anya Gage to wander into his bedroom during a party he did not expect to be having to borrow his phone.

Knight tries to leave Anya to the life she deserves of white picket fences and a man who watches football on Sundays – good, normal and clean. But when Anya comes to his nightclub and finds herself in a situation, he knows someone has to look after her, he can’t fight it anymore and he decides that man will be him.

Knight teaches Anya that, just as with the bad, in life you should also expect the good. And he teaches her this by giving it to her.

But Knight has a dark past and just as he desires Anya for exactly who she is, he fears when she finds out exactly the man he has become and always intends to be, she’ll leave him for good, normal and clean.

Melinda's Review

Have I been under a rock this is my first Kristen Ashley book. A friend gifted it to me and said you need to read this. WOW did I ever!!  The characters and story line were good my only hang up was the Baby/Daddy thing.  Anya was the low maintenance doesn’t thing she is pretty type of girl. Knight is all Alpha knows or sees what he wants and claims it.

Anya is at a party when she decides to make an exit but realizes she need a phone since her cell is dead only she chooses to walk into the wrong room and use the wrong person’s phone or was it? Knight steps in and takes over wow Anya has no idea what she is walking into. Knight is a take charge kind of guy and that is exactly what he does when it comes to Anya.  Anya notices things in her building are being fixed that have been untouched even after others told the landlord of the issues. Mostly Knight has made his way into her life and they are now together not giving her an option.

Knight has a dark side and no matter what if Anya asks he tells her the truth he doesn’t try to sugar coat anything for her even if it could make her run from him. Anya is the one that calms him and he doesn’t want to lose that. I have to say the secret he tried to keep from her had my jaw dropping I had no idea that was what he was trying to keep from her and I don’t think Anya saw it either but Knight’s brother was sure to let the cat out of the bag for him. Knight had his secrets and I was never sure what to think of him but by the end he had me just like he first got Anya.  Just think if it weren’t for that cheap cell phone. I’m ready for more from Kristen Ashley.

about the author

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
