synopsis

The Montgomery Ink series continues with the brother that deserves a second chance, and the woman who has always loved him.

Alex Montgomery lost his first love and then proceeded to leave himself in the bottle. Only he and his ex-wife truly know why he fell so hard and so fast down a path he never thought he’d take. Now he’s clean, out of rehab, and learning how to be a Montgomery once again—a task that isn’t quite as easy as some of his family assumes.

Tabby Collins is an honorary Montgomery and the organizational mastermind behind Montgomery Inc., the family’s construction company. She loves her planners, friends, and a certain dark-haired man who’s never given her a second glance.

Alex is slowly re-immersing himself back into the world, but the demons he faced before aren’t out of the picture, and he’ll have to learn to rely on others to make it out whole. When Alex discovers that Tabby’s life is in danger, he not only finds a way to help her but also learns the true woman behind the soft smiles he’s always seen. Their romance won’t be an easy one, but nothing this passionate and heart-pounding ever is.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book

If you are a fan of the Montgomery Ink series, I know what you’re thinking, Yay Alex finally get his story!!
If you’ve never read the series once you’ve read Alex, you will love it so be prepared for your brooding men with tattoos lust to begin!!!
Alex is the youngest boy of the Denver Montgomery family, the last few years haven’t been the best for him; broken marriage, destroyed his little sister’s wedding, and went to rehab for his alcoholism.
Tabby, is the executive assistant for the family’s construction firm and runs it like a top, oh and is a honorary member of the Montgomery family.
I love that Ryan made the choice to set Alex’s story a year after the last book, so he’s had a while to get his demons until control and to rebuild his life, a year to be ready to love again.
Tabby has had a crush on Alex for a while and sees that he still doesn’t feel comfortable with his family after the events of the past, and she has a past that no one knows about.
I can’t believe how well these two go together, they’re like each other’s missing piece.
Tabby so understands him and can see what no one else can see with him. Alex learns that yes he screwed things up in the past, but he has to forgive himself like those he loves has, and live again.
Ryan has done a excellent job at showing how addiction can change people, how people deal with it when a family member has a disease such as this, and how a person can come back from the heartache it causes.
Make sure you have tissues handy for this one because Alex and Tabby will wreck you, but the introduction of Tabby’s hot as heck brothers will make it all better. It also doesn’t hurt that Alex has take up fighting, so we get to see his yummy tatted up and sweaty bod in the ring!!
Can’t wait for more Montgomery stories and fingers crossed on seeing more of Tabby’s yummy overprotective brothers.
