Her life wasn’t all bad until she woke up a vampire.
Sabrina raised a daughter, started her own coffee shop, and bought her dream house in her hometown of New Orleans. If she had to complain about anything, it would be the seventh level of Hell hot flashes that come with being 53 years old. That is, until she wakes up a vampire.
Her body has never been more perky and her hair is a dream. Problems? Several. A vampire shouldn’t have hot flashes, mood swings that rival a rollercoaster ride, and the urge to drop into a dead sleep at 9:00 pm.
There is a God and he goes by the name of Christoph, the king of the New Orleans coven and a vampire who is hotter than her night sweats. Ready to jump his ancient bones, she manages self control. Barely. When she learns he can cure more than her animalistic urges, she will promise anything.
Enter the misfits. A succubus kicked out of Hell, an old as dirt reaper, a purple dragon whose hiccups light eyebrows on fire, and a cute as can be pooch that’s really a Hellhound. All occupants of the B&B, Fangri-La and Sabrina’s job is to turn Christoph’s new acquisition into a thriving business. Holy hot flashes, she may have sunk her fangs into more than she can handle.
Review by Twinsie Angie
I was given this book by the author for an honest review.
I gotta admit I was nervous how this book would go. Valerie writes such amazing books that are intense and full of stress so I was like “Can she pull off a comedy??” DUDE she did it and she did it so well. This book reminds me a lot of the comedy series from Robyn Peterman I read.
Sabrina is totally me…a mom, business owner, menopausal annnd a vampire???? Ok so I am not a vampire but yeah she wakes up and is a vampire. Not cool right?? I mean she was turned to save her life but much like my luck, shit goes WHACK so she has to meet the Vampire King. Christopher is so much fun. They are so much fun. Everything and everyone in the book are just fun.
For me that was a great change of pace from the normal book Valerie writes and I am guessing it’s a nice chance of pace for her too. I mean writing bout over the top situations and comedy would be a great change of pace.
My only “complaint” is I would have loved more but I totally look forward to more from this series.
Award winning and bestselling author Valerie Twombly grew up watching Dark Shadows over her mother’s shoulder, and from there her love of the fanged creatures blossomed. Today, Valerie has decided to take her darker, sensual side and put it to paper.
When she is not busy creating a world full of steamy, hot men and strong, seductive women, she juggles her time between a full-time job, hubby and dog, in Northern IL.
