From New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters, comes the second book in Kas and Gem’s twisted romance.
A valley full of secrets.
A history full of nightmares.
A man who cannot be saved.
And a woman who holds his very life in her hands.
Strange how the villain of a story can so easily become the victim.
Utter lunacy to think the captive might now become the caregiver.
Gemma has a decision to make.
Her life or his.
Follow her heart, even when it’s screaming at her to run?
Or turn her back on the man who could become her everything?

Review by Twinsie Tenise
Gemma managed to escape her captor but I’m telling you bad luck follows this woman and no matter how bad she wants to get home to her family, something always prevents that from happening. She wonders if her family is even still searching for her. You see, Gemma has always had a habit of kind of just disappearing off the face of the earth and this is worrying her now. Did her family even think to look for her at all or do they think she’s just being Gemma, wrapped up in her climbing and forgetting to check in with her mom and brother?
Enough of Kas’s layers have been peeled back to see there is a man with real feelings hidden inside of this monster who is holding Gemma captive. Which brings me to my current dilemma… I’m once again rooting for a villian created by Pepper Winters. The moral questioning began at the end of book one. I’m now just embracing the fact that I’m hoping Gemma’s captor gets a win. Ahhh!!! I honestly feel lighter now putting that out there.
This is book 2 in a series. They must be read in order. The way this one ended had me immediately purchasing book 2 with zero cares about the fact I had to get up early the next day, if that tells you anything about how invested I am in this series and its outcome.
