Happy Pride Month everyone! Twinsie Tenise here. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who took the time to answer the questions for our pride month celebration. I had fun coming up with this years set of questions. We will be celebrating all month with author spotlights as well as my reviews for some of the LGBTQIA books I’ve read this year. Check back daily to see what’s going on and add to your TBR piles. I hope you enjoy getting to know a little about all of these wonderful authors and their work.
🏳🌈 Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself?
Jillian Jacobs – I’m an HBIC for Writers On The River. I have three kitties who’ve made my life so much happier. My son just got engaged to a sweet gal. And I would love to see more people pick a nonprofit organization to support.
🏳🌈 What is the title of your most recent release?
Spotlight
🏳🌈 Is there a book or a movie that has helped you have a better understanding of a current or past event in LGBTQ history?
MILK! Everyone should watch it.
🏳🌈 If you could have dinner with a famous person from the LGBTQ community, past or present, who would that be and why?
T.J. Klune – He’s my fav LGBTQ author, and he is so witty. I think he looks at life with a unique perspective that helps him be a very creative and meaningful writer. I’d love to just sit with him and brainstorm book ideas. I’d also like to meet Bobby Newberry. He’s a dancer I follow on Instagram. His spouse just died, and I’d like to see how his life really is behind the shiny pictures. I’d also love it if he gave me some dance lessons, because I suck!
🏳🌈 I can hear the complaints now. If you think 1 person is unfair please use this space for additional dinner guests and why you chose them?
Crap, I already broke the rule above. LOL
🏳🌈 Do you have a favorite review(s) of one of your books left by a reader? Care to share the title of the book, the review, and why this one stood out to you?
Like WTF is this review: I got stars because they can’t tell when something is a book not a dress? What is happening?!?!?! 3.0 out of 5 stars Omg i got a book not a dress Reviewed in Canada on February 24, 2022 Verified Purchase Well i thought is a dress based on the .pic and the description ..geez its a book like literally book
🏳🌈 What are your social links?
I can’t believe someone bought your book because they thought it was a dress and then dinged you on their mistake! That’s crazy! (Getting your book would be better than getting a dress anyway. I mean, like, keep the book and order your dress and be happy!)
Mary, right?! I thought the same thing! -Twinsie Tenise
