Happy Pride Month everyone! Twinsie Tenise here. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who took the time to answer the questions for our pride month celebration. I had fun coming up with this years set of questions. We will be celebrating all month with author spotlights as well as my reviews for some of the LGBTQIA books I’ve read this year. Check back daily to see what’s going on and add to your TBR piles. I hope you enjoy getting to know a little about all of these wonderful authors and their work.
🏳🌈 Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself?
I’m August Jones and I write very steamy and very emotional MM romance. I’m a natural redhead, I love being in the water, and I’m trying to teach myself for to draw because my ADD is real.
🏳🌈 What is the title of your most recent release?
Finance Bros
🏳🌈 Is there a book or a movie that has helped you have a better understanding of a current or past event in LGBTQ history?
Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin was one of my favorite series growing up and the movies are great as well. It taught me a lot about how much the LGBTQ+ relies on each other through support through challenges like oppression and AIDS. It also taught me the importance of found family.
🏳🌈 If you could have dinner with a famous person from the LGBTQ community, past or present, who would that be and why?
Jonathan Capeheart from MSNBC. Look, I’m obsessed with the news and I think he’s lovely and brilliant and would be amazing to have a whole dinner with.
🏳🌈 I can hear the complaints now. If you think 1 person is unfair please use this space for additional dinner guests and why you chose them?
There are honestly too many OF men to list, but Jess King the Peloton instructor would be at the top of my list, too.
🏳🌈 Do you have a favorite review(s) of one of your books left by a reader? Care to share the title of the book, the review, and why this one stood out to you?
I do have one and it’s for my latest release. I’ve read some really funny ones, but this one spoke to my soul directly and on purpose. I say in my author bio that my love language is words of affirmation, and this review delivered: it’s no secret that I love everything august jones and this new series is no different. set in san fransisco, two former stepbrothers – ryan and malcolm – team up for an internship challenge at an local firm. the forced proximity causes these finance bros to confront their past and boy are you in for a ride.😢🤬 ryan’s black cat demeanor and malcom’s velcro dog tendencies create a dynamic that you won’t be able to get enough of. and the found family banter had me all up in my feels 😂🤗 August’s signature high heat spice? It’s there in spades and she goes a step above with some soft k!nk that completely changes the landscape of the romance 😮💨🤌🏼🫠 and she doesn’t stop there….a beanbag chair is mixed in and YAAAAAS! *added to my amazon wish list* the hard hitting conversations and therapy representation were done so beautifully and you could tell great care was taken. I also appreciated the ample metaphors (we love a metaphor 🙋🏻♀️). I know @augustjonesbooks appreciates words of affirmation, so I want to close out my review with some words for my top tier author. ⭐️ YOU ARE BRAVE; for boldly stepping into a new creative space and trusting your voice, even when it’s different from what your readers expect. ⭐️ YOU ARE A CHARACTER ALCHEMIST; for the way you craft characters with such emotional depth that they feel like cherished friends. ⭐️ YOU ARE COMPASSIONATE; for your thoughtful and fearless handling of difficult topics showing deep care for the stories that need to be told.
