You’d think a billion dollars, a professional hockey team and a six-bedroom mansion on the Promenade would satisfy a guy. You’d be wrong.
For seven years Rebecca has brightened my office with her wit and her smile. She manages both my hockey team and my sanity. I don’t know when I started waking in the night, craving her. All I know is that one whiff of her perfume ruins my concentration. And her laugh makes me hard.
When Rebecca gets hurt, I step in to help. It’s what friends do. But what friends don’t do is rip off each others’ clothes for a single, wild night together.
Now she’s avoiding me. She says we’re too different, and it can never happen again. So why can’t we keep our hands off each other?
Review by Twinsie Melinda
I purchased this book and audiobook.
Narrators Zachary Webber, Virgina Rose and Joe Hempel did a wonderful job with their narrations on this book. They kept the story moving and had me wanting more. This was the first time I have read a book by Sarina Bowen. How can you go wrong with a billionaire hockey book.
Even though Becca and Nate have been friends for seven years they both have been suppressing their feelings because Nate was Becca’s boss and it wouldn’t be professional to get involved. Things changed when she decided to step out on the ice and fell hitting her head. Now Nate has delegated himself the one to take care of her and make sure she gets the rest she needs.
I loved the flashbacks to when Becca first started working for Nate was great. I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow from a great friendship. Becca doesn’t feel that she is good enough for Nate. There are times in the book that she doesn’t take things that are happening the right way because her feelings get in the way. I have to say I liked the Pride and Prejudice references. The side characters made this book also. I want to read more about them. I thought it was funny how everyone knew these two belonged together but they internally fought their attraction because of their strong friendship and employee/employer relationship. This was a great book to listen to and I am intrigued to read more of this author.
