On a dirt road in Nevada, a woman lay dying.
In book one of Montana Steel MC: Josh ‘Red’ Luke, Montana Steel MC Nomad, wants to go home. It doesn’t have anything to do with running from something as much as the need to find his place in the world. As a former Army medic, he used his GI bill to become a skilled surgeon, which fills his necessity to help. Together with the training from the military to never leave a man behind, and his soul feels almost whole.
The woman struggles to find her own name and the reason for being brutally beaten and left for dead. However, the memories come in hard, harsh bursts and the struggles to figure who she was, leaves her reeling and landing in the violent MC world where her natural instinct to run come out. One consecration the lack of memory fortified her—was to discover a thing she never gave a chance in the past—love.
When those who caused the hurt find out their target is alive, but under the fog of amnesia, they set out to finish the job. With her life in danger, the safest place is in Red’s arms. He can heal the woman’s body, but can Red convince her there’s room in her heart for him?

This is my first read by either of the authors. I love a good MC story and Ms. Prince and Ms. McCabe have delivered ten-fold! Josh (Red) Luke discovers a woman laying at the side of the road, almost beaten to death – but still surviving. His military training (medic) kicks into high gear because he will never leave a “man” behind. Once he has the women safely under his care/protection – he immediately falls for her. Beaten to within an inch of her life and left for dead, Nova has a long battle of recovery in front of her. She witnessed her friend being killed…and the killer also thought he finished the job with Nova. Now the he knows she is alive – he wants her dead and is looking for her. Nova, or Roadkill (road name) is still trying to piece her memory and life back together. Waves of memories come and go and start falling back into place little by little. With the help of Red and the rest of the MC crew she is gaining strength and confidence back. Lots of twists and turns that kept the story interesting and something I couldn’t put down. Red and Roadkill are perfect for each other. They just need to take things one day at time to see what happens next. He wants her to be his ole lady…and she is just not wanting to be a piece of property. Great storyline, good pace, awesome characters. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of this series! It is a little on the long side – but you need to realize that you are getting to know the “world and workings” of the Steel MC Montana Charter.
