**This is a Reverse Harem Fantasy Romance with lots of sexy Jinn. It is recommended for ages 18+ for language and steamy sex scenes**

Goodreads

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

First up, if you haven’t read book 1 please do so or you will miss important information as this book picks right up when the last book ended.

So Arsyn is a bit hurt, betrayed and pretty upset that her 4 hotties decided to keep her in the dark about the fact that she is the Conduit to the quad.  If that isn’t enough, this hasn’t happened in like FOREVER so yeah she is none to pleased with the guys.

As the book starts Arsyn is kidnapped by some bad dudes!!  They are Followers of the Dark.  Her hotties are doing all they can to find her.  But I wont lie, Arsyn goes through A LOT when she is kidnapped and some of it might not be reading for everyone….if you get my drift……so go into this with eyes wide open to possible stuff you might not want to read.

The guys fight to get her back but even when she returns there is a lot that needs to be worked through.  Each of the guys provide something for Arsyn..something she needs but the groups as a whole is suffering and needs to figure stuff out in a big way!!

Yes of course this is a cliffy book so be ready to wait to see what happens in the last installment of the series.

K.B. Ladnier is from a small city in Southern Mississippi. She has one daughter and three cats who she claims are stealing her soul in only tiny doses so she won’t notice. She is a cyborg and spends most of her time hiding from her tiny human so she doesn’t have to share her snacks as she reads her favorite books. She hates the beach yet lives only ten minutes away from it and daydreams of mountains and snow. She is married to a hot nerd and loves him dearly even though he hordes cookies and occasionally hides her prosthetic leg from her when she’s mad, so he can get a quick escape. She plans to write as long as people continue loving what she does, otherwise she’s going to say screw it and do her second dream of owning a coffee shop. Though, she may still do both.

Anita Maxwell is from Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. She has one husband, one son, two dogs, one mean cat, and no kangaroo. She loves to be the center of attention, even when noone else wants her to be. She used to be a ballerina, but now does pole dancing. She is a massive I.T. nerd. She loves planning events. One of her favourite things to do is tell K.B. “No, the main character can’t do that because…”. Her favourite genres to read are Science Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance, Historical, Based on True Stories, and Reverse Harem of course. She has a book she carries with her called “My little book of big ideas”, which is currently a quarter full.

*This short novella IS included in the back of Elicit (book 4) but many people have been requesting it be set apart, if you own Elicit, you don’t need to purchase this novella*

Trace is about to ask her mob boss husband to do the unthinkable…allow his enemy Phoenix De Lange to train her in combat, the very same enemy who nearly killed her the year before.
But Phoenix isn’t the man he once was, and now he’s out to prove to everyone, himself included that he can be trusted.

Goodreads

Amazon

I’m gonna say it again I absolutely love Phoenix. This short novella is about Trace, Nixon and learning to forgive.

Nixon is all on board when Trace tells him she wants to learn self-defense but when he realizes she means hand to hand combat with Phoenix all bets are off in Nixon’s mind. Trace has a way with words and gets Nixon to agree. However there were a few spying eyes to make sure things didn’t go bad for Trace.

This is a great short story about friends rebuilding trust. I loved seeing Trace and Phoenix at the end starting over. This was a light read no mafia hits, wars or killings….well maybe they wanted to kill Phoenix. LOL

A couple of my favorite quotes:

“Oh wow, bargaining with the boss…tell me how that goes.” I scolded.
“Oh wow bossing your wife around, let me know when you want to have sex again.”
“I’m listening.” I growled, irritated that she bested me, again.

“I’m just tired and I didn’t expect the fighting to be so…”
“Personal”. Phoenix nodded curtly. “It’s always personal, Trace. Just like killing, whenever your body is in contact with someone else’s whether it’s negative or positive, and exchange takes place, it either drains you or inspires you, the choice is always yours.”

#WOTR18 #Review #ReleaseDay – His Mimosa (The Cocktail Girls) by Jamie Schlosser

His Mimosa (The Cocktail Girls)

Carter doesn’t believe in love at first sight or happily ever after. When he goes to Vegas for his brother’s bachelor party, the last thing he expects is Brynne, the beautiful cocktail waitress who nurses his hangover with a drink just as bubbly and sweet as she is.

Brynne’s optimism and unfailing faith in love is a breath of fresh air, and it makes him think maybe he’s had it wrong all along.

They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. And Carter’s heart? It might be taking up permanent residence there.

***This Vegas-themed standalone novella is releasing June 1st, 2018!***

Goodreads

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Oh this book!!!  I loved each character so much and the fact it was an insta-love so didn’t bother me at all.  Carter and Brynne so were perfect for each other.  She opened his eyes to what Love really is despite what he grew up seeing.  He taught her that jumping in feet first can burn you, but sometimes good things can actually happen for you.

Carter is such a grumpy old man…LOL  He is so jaded and being a total party pooper for his brother Vegas Bachelor party.  I mean who wants to hear the best man say you are an idiot for getting married????  Not most grooms or brides for that fact.

Brynne has lived and grown up in Vegas.  She is over the glitz of the city and just living for the fun and excitement.  When she sees a hottie, she jumps in feet first hoping for some fun not knowing her heart was going to be rocked on the best if ways.

The story was so sweet at times which made Carter open his eyes to WHAT he is missing out. The books is also super sexy when Carter and Brynne get to “getting to know each other” a little better!!!

She grew up on a farm in Illinois surrounded by cornfields. Although she no longer lives in the country, her dream is to return to rural living someday. As a stay-at-home mom, she spends most of her days running back and forth between her two wonderful kids and her laptop. She loves her family, iced coffee, and happily-everafters

Lei couldn’t breathe. Her chest closed painfully as if she’d been knocked flat on her back, and her lungs burned with the need for oxygen. Somewhere in the tiny rational corner of her mind, she knew there was nothing really wrong with her, but rational thought had no place in the midst of her panic.

He’s back. Emma was right all along and he’s coming for us.

Stop.

You’re spiraling.

Travis Berkley is still in jail. This is a copycat, and no matter how bad a copycat is, he can’t be worse than Travis. You survived before. You will this time, too.

A whine cut through her thoughts, and then Saul was there, nudging her hand with his cool nose. She inhaled sharply, suddenly aware that everyone in the room was staring at her. The Feds had the blank-slate expression she’d come to associate with cops when they were in a difficult situation. Emma looked at her as if she was on the verge of her own panic attack.

Lei stroked her hand over Saul’s head, forming a wall of indisputable facts in her mind to keep the fear at bay. She wasn’t twenty-one anymore, only a couple of years out of the stifling family home she’d grown up on, still drunk on freedom and the realization that she could do anything she wanted to with her future.

She’d been an idiot. A child who was playing dress-up without realizing the pitfalls of adulthood.

Though most pitfalls don’t come attached to a knife.

Lei wasn’t that girl anymore. She’d seen the worst Travis Berkley could offer and had the scars to show for it. She could shoot. She could fight. She’d worked with enough cops over the course of her career as a trainer and search team that she had an inside view to how their minds worked.

She would not lose herself to terror.

Another stroke to Saul’s head and she was able to speak. “How close to the original murders are the details?”

Agent Young exchanged a glance with his partner and leaned forward, bracing his elbows on his knees. His big hands dangled between his legs, and she distantly noted that he had really firm thighs beneath the expensive slacks. He spoke slowly, as if gauging her response. “We haven’t had a chance to check the original case files, but the big details are almost identical. The murders were performed in the same way—girls kept in a main room and taken out individually. We think he snuck in through a window, because their condo was on the second floor and he used a knife from the kitchen.”

She could almost hear Travis’s voice in her head, even after all these years. Let me in, Lei-Lei. I have a surprise for you. Stupid. She’d been so incredibly stupid, swayed by a pretty face and a boy her parents would approve of who made her feel. Smart, athletic, the right dollar amount in his family’s bank account. Someone bright and colorful and checking all the right boxes.

Since she couldn’t bring herself to ask if one of the girls let him in, she focused on the rest. “If this is a fan, he must have been in contact with Travis at some point.” She put her hand on Emma’s leg when her friend flinched at his name. The Feds didn’t react, which made her sigh. “But you already knew that. You don’t need me telling you how to do your job. What is it you need?”

Another loaded look between them. They’d obviously been partners for a long time, because they managed to convey an entire conversation’s worth of talking in a single look.

Again, it was Agent Young who took the lead. “We can find the details of the case easily enough, along with your accounts, but what I’d like to know is your take on Travis.”

“Because I dated him.” She stated it baldly, as if the fact she’d slept with a murderer was something she’d dealt with and moved on from. As if the fact didn’t still keep her up at night, moving beneath her skin until she wanted to take a wire brush to her body. There weren’t enough hot showers and bleach baths in the world to change the fact she’d willingly been with him. She could never take that back.

“Because you—both of you—have known him longer than anyone.”

“Agent Young—”

“Dante.”

She stopped short. Dante. It fit him somehow—strong and a little bit intense. He masked it well, but there was fire lurking in the depths of his dark eyes, in the way he clenched his fists as they spoke about Travis. She shouldn’t be forming personal opinions about any man, let alone one connected with the case. Lei’s track record had more than proven that fact.

While she was still trying to process her strange and seriously inconvenient reaction to him, Emma had found her voice. She spoke softly, her southern accent giving her breathy tone a pretty lilt. She had a Dolly Parton thing going for her—at least before Dolly got a little crazy for plastic surgery—and Emma wasn’t above playing up the sweet-southern-belle thing when it suited her. “Travis Berkley is a sociopath with a healthy dose of narcissistic personality disorder—which you already know because you read the file. Everything is in the file. We have been doing our best to get past what he did to us—to our sisters—and that means forgetting as much as possible.”

Maybe for Emma. Lei couldn’t afford to forget. It had been her mistake that tipped the first domino that destroyed so many lives. While it was possible Travis could have gotten into the house on his own, she’d been the fool who let him in her window.

The knowledge made her hands shake. Emma might want to do everything to avoid that gory walk down memory lane, but Lei didn’t have that option. Guilt wrapped around her throat, tightening, ever tightening. “You have something specific you’re here for.”

Agent Rowan leaned forward, a clear indication that she’d take it from there. As much as Lei wanted the calming force Dante—Agent Young—seemed to emanate, she turned almost gratefully to the redhead. She eyed her as if Lei was a particularly interesting bug. “We’re theorizing this fucker—”

“Clarke.”

She didn’t look at him. “These women have seen enough, Dante. You know as well as I do that a few choice curse words aren’t going to have them scrambling for their sniffing salts.”

Lei understood now why Britton had paired these two together. Clarke was the blunt force designed to set a person back on their heels so they were too busy reacting to her foul mouth to stop and think that there might be a shrewd mind behind those deceptively big blue eyes. Dante on the other hand, was a cool summer mist, unruffling feathers and putting everyone in the room at ease with his calm presence. Both agents would be underestimated in different ways, which was only to their benefit.

Clever.

She eyed the dogs on the floor. Neither of them seemed overly concerned with the Feds in the room. Good. Lei had more than proven she could be fooled, but Saul couldn’t. Every time he reacted poorly to a person, she paid attention—and most of the time something eventually came to light to prove her dog’s instincts correct.

Clarke followed her gaze and then refocused on Lei and then Emma. “A lot of sociopaths think they’re smarter than everyone else in the room—some of them are even right—and Travis sure as hell falls into the latter category. His IQ is 167, and from all accounts, prison hasn’t broken him. What we need to know is if he’d encourage a fan to take these steps.”

“Of course he would. He’s a fucking psycho,” Emma snarled.

“What do you think?” Clarke was looking at Lei.

Because why not? Even now, cops thought Lei had some kind of inside track to the way Travis’s mind worked. She’d dated him for months, had slept with him countless times, and so she must have some insider knowledge to explain how the golden boy went so very, very wrong.

She hadn’t been able to give them a satisfactory answer then. She didn’t have one now, either. But she could try.

#WOTR18 #Review #Paranormal #BadGirls – Karma’s Revenge by Teresa Gabelman

In a world where human’s and vampires coexist, one woman with only one name and a score to settle has a hefty price on her head. She call’s herself Karma, other’s called her the Slayer of Vampires. Karma didn’t care what she was called as long as she got her revenge.

Axel Walker, also known as the Assassin, was a half-breed so his loyalty lay with the highest bidder. Who had the most money to hand him at the end of a job was the side he was on whether human or vampire. His highest pay day was yet to come and all he had to do was kill the one they call the Slayer of Vampires.

The Slayer and the Assassin become players in a tangled web of deceit. It is Karma and Axel who have to decide whether killing each other is the best plan of action or joining forces to take out those who dare make them pawns in their dangerous games.

The Bad Girl series is a 2018/2019 collaboration between 13 authors releasing one book a month about kiss-ass women with a penchant for being bad, Teresa Gabelman gives us May’s Bad girl with Karma’s Revenge.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I am a huge fan of Teresa’s so if she writes it, I will read it!!  I am so loving this world she created, as I do all her worlds.  But what I really love is I can SEE these characters in any of her book series totally working together to fight the bad guys!!

Sophia AKA Karma AKA The Slayer of Vampires is one bad ass bitch!!  She has killed multiple vampires and will not stop until she kills The Savior.  She is a human who can bring strong vampires to their knees.

Axel is an assassin who was hired to kill this Slayer of Vampires.  One look at Sophia and he knows she is the one he was hired to kill, but he is an assassin with moral code???  WHU!!!???  When he turns down the job because of his code plus his VERY STRONG NEED to claim the human, this Breed male is outta his mind trying to protect her and her bestie, Darin.

Can we talk about Darin for a hot minute??  SERIOUSLY the best friend you can ever have and the funniest person ever.   I laughed out loud so many times with his banter.  #DayMade!!

Anywho, so Axel and Sophia are put in a crazy situation of him, the paid assassin, protesting her, the Slayer of Vampires!!  The chemistry between the two is pretty hawt and the anxiety they both have over trust is so real.

When the final scenes are happening, my heart was racing and breaking all at the same time!!  #PanicAttackTeresa

I would love love love to see these two appear in another of Teresa’s worlds because I think they could be great allies for the Wolves or the Warriors!!

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

This was a quick read that I did not want to set down. It was fast paced and full of action.

The Slayer of Vampires (AKA Karma) is on a mission to avenge her sister’s death. She will kill any vampire that gets in her way while tracking down the low life that killed her sister. The only problem is each vampire’s death brings trouble her way. There is now a bounty on her head and Axel was assigned to take her out.

Axel has never turned down a job or missed a target. He is assigned to take out the Slayer of Vampires. There is something about this woman that takes him by surprise. Does he complete his task or does he change the rules.

Alex and “Karmas” chemistry is explosive. However, seeing them learn to trust someone and the fear of them turning on one another was a whole other level. Karma can handle her own she is an expert with the knives and guns. She really knows how to use a gun even when on a motorcycle. Axel is just good at what he does and the respect he shows to Darin made my heart beat a little harder. I love the friendship between Karma and her BFF Darin.  What can I say I loved Darin as much as I did Alex and Karma. The Viper scenes and Darin are classic.

OMG!!! If anyone knows how to write about hot Vampires it’s Teresa Gabelman.

Someone is going around town and killing vampires and now the Slayer of Vampires has a price on her head.

Sophie Deluce is looking for the vampire that killed her sister and left her stuffed next to the toilet in a public bathroom.  In doing so she has made the vampires so nervous that they put a contract out for her and assassin Axel Walker has her number, however once he she’s her and finds out her reasons he returns the money and decides to help her get her man.

I was  excepting some of Gabelman’s VC Warriors to show up, the story was so good!!!!

Sophie is one kick a** woman who needs this to get justice for her sister and no one is going to stop her.  I love how she sticks to what she wants even knowing there is a price on her head, so with the help of a half-breed assassin and her drag queen best friend she continues on her mission.

I swear Gabelman does vampires like no one else and I wouldn’t mind seeing more of Axel and Sophie.

#Review – Elicit (Eagle Elite #4) by Rachel Van Dyken

22710015

Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted…my name is Tex Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right along with him.
I crave war more than peace, and I’m about to take my place in history as the youngest Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra…that is until someone stops me, saves me from myself.

But the only person able to do that…is my best friends sister, Mo Abandonato, and she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets through it.

Im cursed so I did it.
I’m numb so I held it.
I’m wicked so I liked it.
I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare–the five families greatest enemy. It’s my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I’m going to lose my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I’ve always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death…yours.

Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family.

Happy dance it’s time for Tex and Mo’s book. Tex is the goof that gave us the comic relief that was needed. With this book we get to see a different side of Tex the mafia leader and a very intelligent one at that. I’m not sure who I like the dark alpha mafia Tex or the funny Tex. Maybe I like a little of both and that is why I think Tex and Mo make a great couple Mo helps balance him.
Like any of the Abandonato’s Mo is strong-willed and determined but with the plan Mo has hatched and has Tex help her could be detrimental to his health. When Nixon finds out the may have been some fists and bullets flying. What Tex was put through when agreeing to help Mo just showed the love he has for Mo and what all he would do for her.
Like the other books this one has its own set to twists and turns. I’m telling you Rachel knows how to keep you guessing and stunned when things start to unravel. I’m telling you the “plans”these guys come up with have you hanging on but when others hatch a side plan then the crazy really starts to happen and you wonder who will be standing in the end.

From #1 New York Times Bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken comes the third book in the bestselling Eagle Elite Series…

“As burns this saint, so burns my soul. I enter alive, and I will have to get out dead.”

Chase Winter let the love of his life slip through his fingers and into the hands of his best friend and mafia boss of the Abandanato family. Now that he’s been given a second chance to right a wrong–he refuses to let his own selfishness stand in the way. The only problem? He’s not fully in possession of his heart, so when Mil De Lange, the girl who’s innocence he stole, and heir to the worst of the worst mafia families in the US, asks him for a favor. He actually says yes, not realizing that that one yes has the power to destroy them all.

Mil’s been in love with Chase as long as she can remember, but as the years went by, the love turned to hate, and now that he’s agreed to help her, she’s wondering if she made a fatal error. Because Chase isn’t a teenager anymore. He’s a hot blooded male, bent on owning every part of her body and soul, and willing to kill anyone in his path who dares stand in the way.
It’s time for secrets to finally be revealed…but make no mistake, it’s going to take a lot of bloodshed for those truths to be discovered.

You’ve never read a New Adult Mafia story like this before…loyalties will be tested, lovers reunited, and friendships obliterated. Welcome to the Family. Blood in–No out.

Entice (Eagle Elite Book 3) May 13, 2014….Are you in?

It’s Chase’s turn after all he has been through believing he could have a chance to win trace only to have her choose Nixon. When Mil DeLange finds herself the head of the DeLange family she enlists the help of Chase in an effort to protect herself. Chase agrees to help Mil in the process realizes what he wants. Now he just need to break down Mil’s walls and make her see he is the right one.

I love that this is told in Chase, Mil and Nixon’s POV. We get to see how much Nixon has grown into his roll. We may not love what he does but know there is a reason which is usually to protect the family and those he loves. I have to say I like Chase but Mil is one bad ass chick and I love her for it but really if you’re the head of the family…a family that wants you out you have to be a bad ass.

This has so much packed into it has romance, suspense and a dab of humor but the curve balls Rachel Van Dyken toss in here is just crazy. As for Tex I want to know his story he is kind of the outsider but always in the thick of things we finally get a few answers as to why. I cannot wait to start Tex’s book I know it will not be disappointing. I’m so ready for more of Rachel Van Dyken’s suspense and plot twists .
