So, we have come to the end of the King’s Harlots Series, so sad. This series has had it all, a cool women’s mc, hot alpha military guy, a scary AF human trafficking ring, and lets not forget the suspense of finding out just who is behind said ring. Now, onto Rust!!
All the men from Vice-One are Uber alpha, my favorite so far has been Coby Porter from Rude, but now I want to be the meat in a Coby Porter and Vincent Stone sandwich!!!!!!
Holy moly did Walker have me hot to trot with Stone. He’s relatively new to the Vice-One team, but just like the rest of them he’s military, alpha, and he’s also got secrets.
Creena Chan; member of King’s Harlots, nurse, and a lady with one hell of a secret of her own.
Creena and Stone have always been flirty friends, but have never crossed that line until they wake up in bed together hungover and that my friends is the start of a HOT, steamy, complicated relationship.
Walker wraps up this series in a neat little bow, but we all know that while bows look neat, making them takes lots of twist and turns and things that come out of nowhere. What I mean is I never saw the secrets and the players that came out in this book coming and Walker did a great job of between keeping me on edge with suspense and keeping me on edge with the super hot scenes with Stone and Creena.
Even though the series has ended I would love to catch a glimpse of the gang in the future.

This is the third book in the Black Mountain Pack series and it is all about the Silver Fox Sterling. He loves the pack is now in there is something pulling him to run.  Sterling knows it’s not for his mate because he had one and it is rare to be gifted with a second chance.  He is asked to go see what is going on in a pack in Texas. Sterling quickly realizes he is not just there to help with the issue at hand but to protect Reana his mate.

Reana is stuck where she knows things are right but can do nothing to stop it until Sterling and his crew shows up.  She is all for helping out but not willing to submit to being Sterling’s mate even if her fox disagrees. There is no way Reana can give into the matting with Sterling she is not willing to lose everything by breaking her packs rules.  Reana lost her Alpha and her best friend she is not willing to lose any more.

The connection that Reana and Sterling have was captivating. Watching her struggle to keep her fox at bay and the banter those two had was entertaining. However, Sterling seemed to have the same issue with his fox.  I enjoyed seeing a diverse group of shifters come together to accomplish a goal. I was surprised with what some of them were and what they could do. There are so many great shifters in this series and I want to learn all of their stories. I would love to hear what Steven’s story is he is not the big alpha of the group but his submissiveness is an asset in this story. Plus those quiet ones always have a way to my heart.

So as I was reading this, I was thinking okay, I can get past the dub-con. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a dubious consent type book so I was a little concerned for the heroine. But then that ending. BAM! All was right in the world.

Be warned, there may be triggers but if you keep reading, all is not as it seems. I loved it and I totally fist pumped the air when a certain something came to light.

NOOOOOO!!  The series is over…NOOOOOOOOOOO!!  I remember when JM said to me “Hey I have this crazy idea” and BOOM the Kings Harlots were formed.

I have been looking forward to Stone because he seems so delicious and I just knew he would be a good alpha.  Let’s be honest, all of the Vice-One guys have been uber alpha but Stone…yeah the quiet ones you gotta watch out for.  HELLO Coby!!!  LOL

Creena has been the Harlot that you knew had to be “more than……” she just seems to KNOW stuff so her back story was AMAZING!!  I was totally blown away by what we learn and about how it all plays into the bad guys AKA The Organization.

The book tied up everything for us the reader as to the who and the why’s of the bad guys.  We also get a lot of twists and turns because let’s face it, that is what JM does…TWISTS US ALL UP!!!  We are a bit anxious about secrets that are spilled and how our characters will react.

We also get a lot of naughty, sexy time between our characters and again…THAT IS A JM SPECIALITY!!!  She can write some of the hottest stuff and then your like DANG get me some cold water to drink!!!! *fans self*  There are soooo many scenes that were amazing between Stone and Creena but one scene is particular sticks with me because we can see our couple bantering and talking about serious issues.  The trust and mutual respect they both have for each other knowing what they know about the other….yeah made my heart bust with love for them.

So if you have loved this series, then this book is a fantastic final installment.  The epilogue is so perfect.  I mean it really hits the nail on the head.  We get to see our characters enjoying the lives they have built and the families they have created!!

PS I can totally see JM revisiting this series to maybe write about the kids?????  HRMMMM  Maybe???

Sterling the Fox has been someone yummy I have wanted to read about, so I was excited to sit and devour this book.  I liked the story because our pack is a very well-known pack full of goodness and willingness to help others yet not take any crap from others.  They openly allow other species to live together in harmony.

Reana and her pack are a hot mess.  Her pack Alpha was murdered essentially, and she is stuck in this oppressive world with no hope or prospects.  When these new shifters show up, even though her fox is nipping at her to run and claim her male, Sterling, she won’t.  She is afraid of the consequences for mating or loving another.

I enjoyed the story and the who and why of the evil in Reana’s pack.  Sterling and his friends are bound and determined to help these people because they can TELL everything is not as it seems.  The twists and turns plus the introduction of one of our favorite villains is great!    The story between Sterling and Rea was great too.  Sterling is an older, mature fox so he knows that Rea needs time and patience before she can and will accept his claim in her.  The couple have a lot of issues to deal with to be together because she is not allowed to mate or suffer for going against her Alpha!!!

I soooo want to have a book on Wyatt and if I ant have his then can I please have one on Steven next.  Those two males….heart is so interested in them.  They are both males of extreme worth but so quiet.

My name is Miranda Lynn and I’m freaking awesome! That’s my daily mantra for 2018 anyway. I hate these questions. I’m a Taurus, I enjoy my coffee in the morning, chatting with my amazing author friends, blog bitches, and readers extraordinaire. I’m an average person, mom, wife, constantly working on myself and the characters I write. I’m a procrastinator, constantly trying to find what works to keep me organized and a hater of all things having to do with cleaning.

When and Why did you start to write?

I started really focusing on writing more than a journal page about five years ago. I was inspired by a group of Indie Authors that told me to just write the story I would want to read.

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

JM Walker, Sandra Neeley, Theresa Hissong, LK Shaw, Charity Parkerson, Terry Maggert, Maggie Adams, hmm maybe I should just take a picture of my bookshelf and share there are so many.

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

How tedious revisions can be and what a horrible person I am with grammer. Thank heavens for great editors!!

What are you working on now?

I just finished Sterling who comes out January 15th. I am now working on revision a short story for a box set coming in the Summer and I have picked up the third and final book in the Destiny Trilogy.

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

Total Pantser. The only thing I plot are which characters get a book, hell I don’t even have an order. I tried that last year and my characters laughed hysterically and chose their own times to be written.

A small, plump woman, appearing to be around 35 years old, stands before me with a large pink pig on a leash next to her. “Your Highness,” she says dipping her knees in a curtsy. 

Her amber eyes are sparkling with mischief and my spidey sense is tingling. 

Wait, I have never had any kind of sixth sense before. 

I’ve never been able to pick up what someone was feeling. Pride is flowing from this woman in waves, she’s exuding exoneration. Whatever she’s done, she believes was right and merited. 

“This should be good,” Brooke speculates softly.

“What may I help you with today?” I ask.

“My husband thinks a woman’s place is in the home, cooking, and cleaning. He believes I shouldn’t have an opinion or a say in any matters involving our children. He thinks I’m to be seen and not heard. He’s under the delusion, it’s proper for a man to have an affair if his wife doesn’t obey and follow his rules,” she finishes holding tightly to the leash while the pig thrashes and squeals.

A headache begins to form from the loud screeching coming from the pig, “Ma’am, why have you brought that animal into the forum?” I whimper, covering one ear to block some of the noise.

“He’s registering his protest, my Queen,” she replies tugging hard on the lead causing the pig to choke.

“His protest, Madame? Why does this farm animal have a protest?”

“Because this is Harold, my husband,” she boasts.

My eyes move to the pig and back to the woman. I place my hand to my mouth to hide my smile, I need a second to compose myself and listening to Brooke’s twinkling laughter in my ear isn’t helping. Straightening my features so I can look the lady in the eye without busting out chuckling, I ask, “You turned your husband into a pig?”

“It seemed quite fitting, Highness. His beliefs were archaic,” she replies, her voice confident, convinced I’ll agree with her.

“Were you aware these were his beliefs when you wed and had children?”

“We’ve been married a very long time, don’t let my youthful appearance fool you. When we wed, women were meant to be in the home but that was decades ago and views on women have changed but Harold refuses to change with them. When he began having affairs, I decided he’d be better off as bacon.”

Every time I read an Alexa Riley book, I think that it’s my favourite one and then I pick up another and that one ends up being my favourite. So for now, as I type this review, Wanting My Stepsister, is my favourite AR book.

So just like the other AR books I’ve read which unfortunately isn’t many yet (I’m working my way through the list), this one is short but hot. Wow. So hot. One thing about these guys, is they sure love getting their women pregnant cause dannnnnnnnnng.

I got nothing else. Read this book.
