Q and B expected death when the Elders ordered their execution. What they discover instead changes everything they thought they knew about their world. Saved by the mercy of the Elders, they awaken in the Vrai Domicile, a mysterious place hidden below the Sixth Domicile housing hundreds of former rebels.
Except these rebels have been brainwashed, conditioned to be blind followers.
Q quickly learns of the Elders’ new plan for her – she is to become their warrior, to reunite the Vrai and Sixth Domiciles with purity, love, and unwavering faith. But to Q, she’ll be undoing everything she and the rebels fought for.
Now Q and B must fight to survive once more, forced to forge new alliances with strangers who promise nothing is as it seems. But surviving comes with a choice – follow the Elders and quash the Revolution, or defy them and free the people, putting B’s and Grandmother’s lives at risk.
In a place where the fire of rebellion is extinguished at every turn, can Q continue to be the spark that fuels the Revolution?
Book 2 in The Sixth Domicile Series by Courtney Ruggles, a 5 star Readers Favorite!

kristis review

I received a copy for a honest review

This book picks up right where the first left off.
Q wakes up and she is no longer in the Sixth Domicile but under it in the Vrai Domicile and she is not dead.
The Elders now have Q right where they want her, and will use any means necessary to bend her to their will.
Q doesn’t know who to trust, but she knows she has to do what is ask of her so that her loved ones can live.
You can really feel how torn she is, she doesn’t want to do what they want to teach her, but by learning these things she can bring a end to them.
When she finally realizes that things are not what they seem in the Vrai Domicile it makes her want to end the Elders that much more.
You can see how much Q and B love each other and no matter what anyone says it won’t be stopped.
Omg, the big reveal in this book floored me!! It was so outta left field and way unexpected, but such a good twist.
The ending was heartbreaking and I hope that the next book picks directly up where we left off.
All I can say is Ruggles has left me wanting more!!

about the author

Courtney’s love for writing dates back to short stories on a word processor (What?? Word processor with floppy disks?). Oh yes, she literally had a card filing case full of floppy disks. Now she continues her writing (she upgraded to a laptop) while living in Southern Ohio with her husband and son.

Although Courtney has always lived in Ohio, sometimes closer to the Ohio River and sometimes further away, she dreams of the mountain ranges out west and the sandy Florida beaches. She married the man of her dreams and had a beautiful blond haired blue eyed boy. Before she sought publication for her first book The Sixth Domicile: Book One of the Domicile Series, Courtney worked as a social worker in a mental health agency where she counseled and provided therapy. After she left full time work, she taught social sciences at a local university and began a photography business. The “extra” time gave her the ability to focus on writing again.

Courtney’s background in social work fuels the grit in her stories. When Courtney isn’t writing her next book, you can find her doing homework (drag) and sipping flavored coffee, reading young adult and new adult books (because social work text books are only so interesting), or daydreaming about all the future beach houses she intends to buy.

#Review – Deception (Infidelity Book 3) by @AleathaRomig

67398d92-f032-4a28-84d7-055b109b0f01

DECEPTION, book THREE of FIVE in Aleatha Romig’s INFIDELITY series.

“Infidelity – it isn’t what you think”

It all began in Del Mar, a chance meeting with a single rule–one week only.

Or did it?

Lennox ‘Nox’ Demetri and Alexandria ‘Charli’ Collins had every intention of following it but rules are made to be broken. In CUNNING they are reunited with Nox setting down new rules for the game and Charli having no choice but to follow them.

Now, once again, the game has changed. Nox and Charli’s hot sensual encounter has grown into something more but it is threatened with secrets and regrets. Is it their love and intense sexual chemistry that’s pushing them together or something darker, a puppetmaster behind the scenes pulling the strings on their love affair?

Shadowy villains lurk around each corner and everyone is suspect as Nox’s and Charli’s pasts collide with the present and threaten to compel them back to their predestined fates.

Can deals brokered in the past be negated by something as pure as love and as steamy as the attraction shared by Nox and Charli? Or was it all a deception—starting with that very first meeting?

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a sexy, new dominant hero who knows what he wants and a strong-willed heroine who has plans of her own. With classic Aleatha Romig twists and turns, the depth of this epic romantic suspense continues to reach new levels as past and present intertwine. The Infidelity series will have readers swooning one minute and screaming the next.

Have you been Aleatha’d?

DECEPTION is a full-length novel, over 300 pages, and the third of five books in the INFIDELITY series – It isn’t what you think!

TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW

Deception by Aleatha Romig
More Nox, Charli, Adelaide, and the rest of the evil bunch
BREATHE IN BREATHE OUT
5 STARS

Jeeze Aleatha… you really know how to write suspense. This book has me looking over my shoulder and second guessing everyone and everything in it. The only one I trust at this point is Charli (Alex). This web of lies and deceit are driving me mad. WTF is going on? I can’t wait to read the next installment in Entrapment.

Charli is still the same. Maybe a little wiser, but she still love Nox, she still hates Alton, and she’s still trying to make her own way in this wild story. New things are revealed, past and present. New alliances are formed. And more reason to not trust ANYONE has been produced. Honestly I don’t know why Charli doesn’t just pull her Momma and Jane outta that house immediately is beyond me. Pffft.

Nox is opening up more in this installment, but I feel he’s only scratching the surface. His Father also. These two Demetri men are enough to make ME reach for the Montague Private Label. At least a bottle or two! What I want to know is why isn’t Nox or Oren going after Alton? Why is this fucker still breathing and above ground? Sorry, I lost my head there for a moment! lol!

The supporting character cast is still the same… Alton (Dick), Adelaide, Bryce, Suzy, Chelsea, Oren, and the rest. They all play an integral part in bring this story full circle. I know that hasn’t happened yet, but I’m rubbing my hands together anticipating the next two installments. Eeek!

So, this along with the first two parts of this tale are still as amazing as ever. I find that Aleatha can definitely write her way into a passionate suspenseful story with ease, but can she write her way out of it? My money’s on yes! I love Deception! I love this serial! I wait on pins and needles for more of it! Excellent job Mrs. Jeff!

by Nicole De La Cruz

OUT NOW

After years of being stuck in her abusive mothers trailer, Melody Turner finally has a chance to find herself. Eighteen years old, with a full scholarship to a school in New York, Melody feels free. The problem is that she somehow finds herself repeating history. Fearing that she may become exactly like her mother, Melody intends to hide away in her dorm. When her best friend Rowan won’t allow that, she finds herself attending a show in New York City that could possibly change her life forever.

Wyatt Foster lives life on his own terms. He has no interest in his parents’ wealth or the law firm his family has been pressuring him to be a part of. Instead, Wyatt finds that he can escape the pressure of his family through music as lead guitarist of the popular band My Soul To Keep.

Priorities shift when he sees her and Wyatt’s life begins to take a turn.

When I first laid eyes on Melody, even through her leather jacket, I could tell she was different and, after Rowan introduced me to her, I knew she wasn’t the typical girl at the rock show. The way she handled herself, she was shy and timid, but it’s what made her real. I know I must have looked like a creep just staring at her that night, but I’m not sorry for it. I couldn’t help myself; I was drawn to her. I loved the way she blushed every time she would catch me staring. When she would talk, her voice was soft like velvet and made my heart race.  Whenever she would laugh at the stupid things I said it felt like a win every single damn time. I wanted to make her do it over and over because I knew I was the reason she was happy.

Despite the angelic perfection that was sitting next to me, one thing I would change about her is the way she always covered her smile with her hand when she would laugh. It was frustrating and I had to fight the urge to grab her hand and hold it in mine.

I don’t know what made me ask her out. I knew girls like Melody didn’t go out with guys like me, but I went for it anyway and I was so stoked that she actually said yes. I just hope I don’t make myself look like a fool in front of her. Usually I don’t have a hard time with girls, but with Melody, and the way she looks tonight, she’s got me sweating.

TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW

Last Mile by Katie Ashley
Bishop & Samatha
BIKERS, AND AGENTS, AND BAD GUYS OH MY
4 STARS

So, I think this is the last book in the Vicious Cycle Series, but I could be wrong. We shall see! It’s not as dark as it’s predecessors, but it does pack a punch. I’ll admit, I really wasn’t sure about it at first, but it ended up being a pretty good tale.

Bishop wasn’t my fave from the beginning of the series, but he did grow on me throughout this story. He actually kinda swooned me a few times. The whole “manwhore” persona he tried to carry out really didn’t hit home with me, maybe because it wasn’t talked about too much, but none-the-less, I did end up liking him a whole bunch!

Samantha was my favorite character by far (if you don’t count Willow, lol). She went through hell and back as a kid and set out to change the world as an adult. And change it, she did! I felt so much sadness for everything she had lost throughout this story including the climax. Sam is one tough ATF agent, but will she get the perp and the man? Time will tell!

The supporting character cast is pretty huge! All the brothers, Rev, Deacon, Boone, etc. are back. Mama Beth is still hospitable and the club is on it’s way to legitimacy. I even have praise for the villain in the story. Come on you know there’s a villain!

So, this is a MC Romantic Suspense kinda story. It has thrills and chills and ton of hot, crazy sex. The storyline is pretty good and the pacing ok. The writing style is always superb, love Katie Ashley! There was some tension leading up to the climax, but I kind of would have liked just a little bit more!

Melinda's Review

Have I been under a rock this is my first Kristen Ashley book. A friend gifted it to me and said you need to read this. WOW did I ever!!  The characters and story line were good my only hang up was the Baby/Daddy thing.  Anya was the low maintenance doesn’t thing she is pretty type of girl. Knight is all Alpha knows or sees what he wants and claims it.

Anya is at a party when she decides to make an exit but realizes she need a phone since her cell is dead only she chooses to walk into the wrong room and use the wrong person’s phone or was it? Knight steps in and takes over wow Anya has no idea what she is walking into. Knight is a take charge kind of guy and that is exactly what he does when it comes to Anya.  Anya notices things in her building are being fixed that have been untouched even after others told the landlord of the issues. Mostly Knight has made his way into her life and they are now together not giving her an option.

Knight has a dark side and no matter what if Anya asks he tells her the truth he doesn’t try to sugar coat anything for her even if it could make her run from him. Anya is the one that calms him and he doesn’t want to lose that. I have to say the secret he tried to keep from her had my jaw dropping I had no idea that was what he was trying to keep from her and I don’t think Anya saw it either but Knight’s brother was sure to let the cat out of the bag for him. Knight had his secrets and I was never sure what to think of him but by the end he had me just like he first got Anya.  Just think if it weren’t for that cheap cell phone. I’m ready for more from Kristen Ashley.

about the author

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

The insta-love.

The enchanted fairy tale.
The concept of
‘happily ever after’ on reality TV is beautiful, but it’s complete B.S.
I mean, I get the
appeal.
The One is the most
watched reality TV dating show because it sells the idea that two people
“randomly” handpicked by producers will fall in love and ride off into the
sunset. We are expected to believe that after having a group of women embarrass
themselves for the affection of a man on national television, the bachelor and
the chosen one fall in love and they live happily ever after.
Let’s be honest.
Shows like The One are
really about fantasy romance and must-see entertainment—not happily ever
afters. That’s why the creators and producers don’t show what happens after the
exotic getaways, lavish lifestyles, and over-the-top proposals. Even though
reality TV relationships never last, they want us to buy into the fairy tale.
Truth is… when the
cameras stop rolling, the number one killer of reality TV couples is real life.

TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW

Crave Me by M. Robinson
Austin & Briggs
(Deep Breath) GAHHHHHHHH
5 Stars!

So, of course this one is just as good as the last one… if not better! I’m seriously thinking about changing my favorite to Crave Me from Undo Me… Nah… can’t do it… Dylan and Aubrey were my fave and always will be, but Austin and Briggs are an extremely close second! This one will go down in the books as angsty, gritty, and unforgettable.

Briggs is one tough cookie. She’s been through so much shit starting at the age of 6 for cripesake. Poor kid.. but in this case, that which does not kill you (literally) will make you stronger. Briggs is one of the strongest females I’ve read in a while. Her only flaw was her willpower where Austin was concerned. Every time she caved I wanted to throat punch her and yell “wake the fuck up!” And that relationship with her Uncle, don’t even get me started! Wow!

Austin is an ass! That’s the only way I can sum him up. He had the world the palm of his hands so many fucking times and he let it all slip right through his fingers. How many chances does this doofis get for fucksake? Yeah, yeah, yeah, he’s a hot alpha male with “fuck me” eye, tats up the waazoo, and muscles that go on forever, but it was his actions that killed me! He took advantage of Briggs more times than I care to remember, but know this… his day will come!

The supporting character cast is vast. All the “Good Ol’ Boys and their gal pals are back, but it’s that cold hearted Uncle of Brigg’s that I can’t get off my mind. Alejandro Martinez is in need of a rude awaking if you ask me. I heard through the grapevine that he may be getting his own book… Eeeep, I can’t wait!!

So, all in all this was amazballs! It was persuasive and powerful. The dialogue flowed easily and felt natural. The storyline is dark and sinister and full of grit and anguish. Ms. Robinson does a bang up job of filling this tale with more than enough tension to make the climax that much more unique. Great job!

synopsis

I’m the girl from the school of hard knocks.

Nothing has ever come easy for me. So forgive me if I’m a bit reluctant about Kincaid Griffin – born-with-a-silver-spoon in his mouth, conceited college hoops player. A guy who could get any girl he wants, and yet, is suddenly everywhere I am trying to woo me. The more I protest, the more persistent he becomes.

I’m a lucky bastard.

Let’s face it. As a college athlete, I don’t chase girls – they come to me. I’m as arrogant and cocky as they come, getting nearly everything I want, whenever I want. But there is nothing sweeter than a girl who plays hard to get. And Ainsley Locker is so full of confidence that she knocks me off my feet from the moment I meet her. She’s a challenge. And I like challenges. So I go full-court press to win her over.

But when a stupid mistake turns viral, slam dunking all over my life in a media frenzy, my spot on the team may be in jeopardy, along with my shot at winning the girl.

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I don’t read many sports related boos but this has a good story line with strong characters.   Not only was I invested in the two main characters but also the other characters also that I need to know more about.

Cade was the all-star that had everything handed to him, never had to chase the girls they were always there waiting for him. However, one bad decision one night threatened to end everything for him.

Ainsley has never had an easy life between working two jobs, raising a teenage sister and going to school she does not have time for anything else especially guys. When she first meets Cade she gives him the brush off when he tries to turn on his usual charm. At this time I was cheering Ainsley on for this move thinking don’t need this guy.

As fate would have it that would not be the only time these two run into each other. Ainsley still wants nothing to do with Cade and well this only makes him want her more. So he pursued harder and she finally caved. But just as things are going good for them his secret comes out in a big way. Now the question is can Ainsley forgive him and can their relationship overcome this?

I enjoyed Ainsley and Cade’s story and also getting to know the other characters. I am excited to see where the other stories are going to go. Cannot wait for the next Story.

This story is not really what you think it to be, at first. It’s angsty and dark. It’s heart wrenching and frightening. It’s even pretty damn comical at times. Jettie sure can write the crazy characters to a tee. Makes ya wonder, is she maybe just a little coo coo herself? Bwahahaha!

Jaq is a total freak! She’s got some major hang ups and she’s not open for suggestion, AT ALL! She makes a phone call one day that will change her life forever. Little does she know that her pathetic little life is about to be uprooted and displaced. I love her antics and the way she handles her animals. Her heart is pure, but her head is in serious need of rearranging.

Oliver is one of those kinds of people that is in constant movement. He can’t not be doing something. Even if it’s just his brain doing the moving. He never seems to be content with where his life is going or what his next job will be. So, when a wrong number comes in and intrigues him, he can’t help but follow up on the mysterious girl who needs a hitman!

The supporting character cast is pretty small. Oliver’s brother Silas is pretty much it! He’s a pretty funny manwhore that Oliver seems to need from time to time even though Silas seems pretty intent on shutting Oliver down at every turn. A few more, but nothing worth mentioning.

This book was weird in a good way. I found myself staying up late to finish it. Jaq and Oliver’s characters are pretty commanding and made me drop just about everything to follow their lives. There was plenty of tension and a massive amount of angst right up until the end. I would say I’m looking forward to Grayce With an A Y but I’ve heard that Jettie isn’t going to write that anymore. In fact I’ve heard she’s not even going to write under the name Jettie Woodruffanymore. Hmm… not sure but from what I gather, she’s happy about this and this is a good thing… We’ll see! I’m not making any judgment calls just yet.
