synopsis

Not only does VC leader, Sloan Murphy, have to keep the peace between the human and vampire race, but he also wrangles VC Warriors in his spare time. It’s a job that could drive a saint insane, and Sloan is no saint, but insane he may be. While his Warriors find mates, he swears he will not follow in their footsteps.
Becky Spencer, his new secretary who he reluctantly employs, is set to threaten every stoic promise he’s made.
With an instant attraction that is hard to deny, she fits into his world with confident ease.
Even though Becky has sworn off men after her nasty divorce, she can’t help the desire the sexy and serious Sloan Murphy stirs in her. It isn’t until she sees how devoted he is to his job and the Warriors under his command, that her lusty feelings turn into more. Working in close quarters, they both fight the pull that grows with each passing minute.
Who will win, the secretary, the Warrior, or an attraction that just won’t go away?

Sloan Murphy is the boss man of the VC Warriors as well as the oldest member of the vampire council. He does it all and if vampires could get high blood pressure and have heart attacks Sloan would be a prime candidate for both. Becky Spencer is Sloan’s new secretary that he really doesn’t want. She’s got a douche bag for a ex, a son in college that she loves, and is swearing off all men, good thing Sloan isn’t a man.
We get to see all of our favorite Warriors again; Sid and Jared are still smart asses, Damon and Duncan are still strong and true, Steve is still funny as hell and getting into trouble, Adam is still Adam, Jill is still throwing people through walls, Jax and Blaze are training the warrior wannabe’s, and Slade well he’s still my Dr. Hottie McVampire being all Dr. Buchanan.
Sloan really doesn’t want a mate, he’s too busy and he wasn’t ever supposed to find his, but he can’t stop thinking about Becky. It’s so funny watching Becky silently swearing herself off Sloan all the time when he does something to melt her panties.
Watching Sloan try to fight his feeling the she’s his mate is like watching a tree slowly fall, then BAM it happens!!
Since our last bad guy died in Jax’s book, Gableman has given us a new slimy bad guy with thugs of his very own who’s already done some damage and pissed off the Warriors!!
I love that Becky is tough and can stand up to the Warriors when she needed and that she’s has the same goofy since of humor that they do and can give it as good as they can. She fits the group and most of all she is exactly what Sloan needs.
What’s so great about Terese is all the while she’s writing about the main couple, she’s setting you up for the next one, with out letting the main couple down. The next book is gonna be awesome and I can’t wait!!!

angies review

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Oh Sloan!!  I have been waiting for the boss man to fall and fall hard he did.  He TRIED to fight off the sassy redhead but he ended up falling head over heels, as we the reader did as well.

Sloan has been grumpy and moody in every book.  I mean I get it.  He is the boss and has a lot to run and control so love is not in the cards for him oooorrr so he thinks.  It’s not that he doesn’t WANT love but he knows he is moody, grumpy and busy so women don’t take kindly to being 2nd in line for his attention.

Becky is done with men.  After her failed marriage she is over men and going to switch teams…LOL then she gets this job with the VC Warriors as the boss’ secretary.  He is commanding and intense but super sexy.  The chemistry these two have in sooo well written.  They are joking and flirting but still keeping the whole boss/secretary thing going.  Mainly Sloan is pushing her away and she is hiding for fear of being rejected.

When they have their first kiss…..I was super excited and then watching Becky put him in his place…LOVED IT!  She is definitely perfect for Sloan.  All the Warriors, except for Sid because she also puts him in his place, love her as do their mates.

The buildup for the next book has me sooo excited for a few reasons….1 – new awesome bad guy. 2. -Blaze…need I say anymore???

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this from the author for an honest review.

I have been waiting for the Boss man’s book. Sloan is not happy go lucky he has so much on his plate. He doesn’t have the luxury of letting his guard down and letting loose he has a vampire race to protect.  Sloan does not have time for anything but his job he defiantly doesn’t have time for a mate.

Becky is hired to be Sloan’s secretary to help him out. She has sworn off men after her divorce even contemplating switching teams. Sloan finds out quickly Becky is not a “Yes, Sir” kind of woman. She speaks her mind and stands up to anyone no matter which Warrior it is.

I enjoyed this one the chemistry between Becky and Sloan was off the charts. Watching them fight it and the banter between them was great. I loved the side stories of the trainees and Blaze *wink* *wink*. Let me just say Jax is my warrior but Blaze is right up there with him.  The new nemesis is going to cause so big issues for the warriors. I have to say I found myself laughing at times, wanting to throat punch some newbies.

I cannot wait for the next book to find out what is going to happen next and I have to know more of Blaze and also what’s going to happen with Steve. OMG Steve I see him getting into some major predicaments in the future. I have fallen in love with series it only grows and becomes so much more. I feel invested in the lives of the warriors and their mates. I want to know more about them all.

Persephone Fields is just an average girl: beloved daughter and loyal friend. One night decides her Fate, when the prince of The Underworld becomes her savior and her kidnapper.

Hades has lived centuries in darkness and sin. When he decides to save the blonde goddess, he doesn’t consider the ramifications of his decision to bring her into his realm.

Two worlds divided struggle to find friendship in a history of family discord beyond their control. When attraction blurs the line, questions result in choices of love or loyalty.

A modern twist of the classic myth: Hades and Persephone, this version incorporates the sensual tension of opposites divided by contemporary humanity and mythical underworlds. Also reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet, this is a love story ripe with desire.

synopsis

Lady Pippa Godfrey has suffered the most ruinous London Season. She escapes to her Somerset estate for a quiet Christmastide holiday with her family, away from society’s prying eyes. But before her parents can join her, a storm crashes down on Somerset to destroy any hope of Pippa’s white Christmas dream. The roads have flooded and travel is impossible, leaving her stranded and alone. But a muddied, angry and devilishly handsome lord appears at her door demanding shelter.

Lucas Hartfeld, the Earl of Maddox, has been summoned by his parents, the Marquis and Marchioness of Bowmont, to attend a holiday party in the wilds of the country, far from his London townhouse. He suspects they command his attendance for far different reasons than a simple country party. When a storm strands his carriage, he’s forced to seek shelter at the only home for miles around, a local manor called Helton House.

When Lady Pippa is reluctant to admit him, he does what he’s been raised to do—demand she provide him and his servants with shelter until the storm passes. But the beautiful woman draws his interest far more than he’s willing to admit. Can Lucas find a way out of the predicament his parents are planning?

As Lady Pippa scrutinizes another arrogant, demanding lord, she is bombarded with memories of betrayals in her past. Can she forget those difficult life lessons to claim a Christmastide kiss from a perfect stranger?

excerpt

Pippa pushed her hair away to continue with instructing the servant to the nearest inn. “Your lord will be far more comfortable…”

The wind whipped the last of her hair from her face to reveal not the servant from before, but a tall, very tall, broad-shouldered, very broad-shouldered, man—that was all Pippa saw of him as her glance locked on his chest. He was drenched, with his shirt plastered to his enormous width. It hadn’t been the wind that had knocked the door from her hands and allowed the storm access to her home, but the man before her.

And he was fuming mad—his nostrils flared as water dripped from his hair and he stared at her pointedly—not bothering to mask his aggressive stance.

“Were you truly going to turn away a man in need of shelter?” his voice boomed.

Pippa gasped, taking yet another step back. She glanced quickly over her shoulder, hoping the noise had awoken one of her servants, abed on the third floor of the house. But none came running to aid her.

“I knew I was venturing to the depths of hell when I agreed to come all this way from London, but are manners not taught in the wilds of Somerset?” The man ran his hands down the front of his shirt, pushing the water from his body to pool on the floor beneath him. “My servants will need space in your stables. I thank you for…” he eyed her up and down before continuing. “…your hospitality, my lady.”

He bowed before Pippa with his last words and his breath caressed her body, making her acutely aware of two things; he smelled heavily of spirits and she was attired in a sheer nightshift that did not leave much to the imagination.

angies review

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I say this with every Regency Historical I read, I love them and will keep shouting it off the roof tops.  I don’t know how people can’t love them.  I mean the balls, the big crazy dresses, the ton….ok yeah I can do without the ton, the crazy chaperone dramas, but the life style just seems awesome to me.  Granted I wasn’t wearing a corset and sweating in a heat filled ballroom without deodorant too…..ewwwww.

This is a great anxiety filled novella with new character from Christina.  This is about Lady Pippa who was embroiled in scandal last season thanks to her frenemie, Lady Natalie, and our rakeshell, Lord Lucas.  Pippa is sitting at home ignoring an invite from Natalie to her holiday party.  She has hurt feelings over what her bestie said about her in polite company.  When she is waiting for her parents to arrive home, there is a bang on the door and enter our rakeshell, Lucas.  He needs to be sheltered for the night due to the late night and raging storm outside.

Our couple are thrown together for 2 short days but enough of an impression is made on the other to sway their feelings for the other.  When the storm leaves and all the secrets are revealed about Lucas and Natalie, Pippa is a mess but so is Lucas.

I loved Lucas.  He is such an arrogant guy but he really and truly wants to be loved and accepted.  Pippa is a “bleeding heart” who was raised different than most children of the ton.  She was raised with kindness and compassion.  I loved her sweet and gentle nature but yet her sassy and feisty side was great to read.  She was really comfortable in her own skin and helped to set Lucas at ease.  Her compassion is what drew him to her even if he teases her for it.

I am super eager to read Lady Natalie’s book because she is a uber C-word in my books so redemption is gonna be tricky!!!  WAIT Can I say C-word in a historical?  HRMMM…ok she is a major hussy then????  Lady of unsavory morals???  Lets go with that one for now…LOL

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of the audio book for an honest review.

This was an amazing ending to a series.  This is the final book in the series and wow is there a bunch going on between Joseph enabling an enemy to come to life, Chase still after Roya, Roya finding out her parents are, and then there is the love triangle. One thing is for sure although there is so much going on not one of these things takes away from the story or confuses it in any way. My emotions were all over the place by the time this ended. There was suspense and so many twists and turns my mind was in over drive.

So many great scenes I was an emotional wreck I had tears in my eyes so many times and even cried. NO character is safe when it comes to Sarah Noffke writing. She has a way of making me fall in love with the characters and then when something happens I am devastated. The battle scenes were phenomenal as always I felt as if I was right beside Roya fighting a long side her with everything I had. The emotions Roya went through I felt with every beat of my heart. I absolutely loved this series there is suspense, tragedy, love, hatred and forgiveness. This was a great ending to a wonderful series. As with the other books the narrator did a wonderful job I didn’t want to turn it off at any point during any of the books. I was pulled in and couldn’t escape until the last word was read.

Great job on the series Sarah Noffke and wonderful narration.

Inarticulate
Excerpt
This is an excerpt from Inarticulate (a standalone contemporary romance) when the two protagonists first meet.
She swung around to the house to hide her smile and bounced up the three stairs toward the front door. Movement nudged her periphery and she slowed, taking in the sight of a man standing in the shadows at the far end of the porch. His hip was cocked against the bannister, his eyes hooded.
Her concentration latched on to him, unmoving as the world around her dulled to a faint hum in her mind. She wasn’t sure what intrigued her. It could be his narrowed stare, the way he didn’t greet her with warmth or kindness. Only sterile appraisal. Or maybe it was the package his arrogance came in—the tense expression, stubbled jaw, and lush lips pressed in a tight line.
Her tongue tingled. Mouth salivated. She would’ve liked to think it was due to the heavenly aroma of her aunt’s cooking drifting in the air. Would’ve liked to…but that was a load of bull.
“Hi.”
She gave him a friendly finger wave as Dominic came up behind her.
The man continued to stare, his face still unwelcoming in the shadows.
“Keenan, don’t be a prick.” Dominic tugged on her arm, stealing her attention. “Come on. I’ll introduce you later.”
She kept her focus on the stranger, their gazes entwined, hers soft and inquisitive, his harsh and fierce, as her cousin dragged her inside, the door slamming shut behind them. “Who was—”
“Oh, my sweet Savannah!” Aunt Michelle hustled up the hall, wiping her hands on an old apron tied around her waist. “It’s so good to see you.”
The familiar face held more wrinkles than Savannah remembered, her aunt’s long blonde hair now gray and thinning. But the beautiful blue eyes were still the same—loving and gentle.
“It’s good to see you, too.” She ignored the strangers poking their heads into the hall from different doorways and fell into a comforting embrace. “Thank you for the dinner invitation.”
“Oh, please,” her aunt chastised. “You don’t need an invitation. Come around any time.”
There was a whirlwind of introductions. Her aunt took position on her right, gushing with affection and compliments, while Dominic remained on her left, muttering snide comments that threatened to make her laugh.
A timer dinged from the kitchen, a welcome reprieve as her aunt excused herself and left Savannah to take a breath. There had to be twenty people crammed into the small house. All of them smiling and friendly, unlike the man outside who still lingered in her thoughts.
“You want a drink?” Dominic nudged her elbow.
Hell yes. “Please.”
She followed him to the back of the house, into the laundry, and toward a
fridge stocked full of beer, wine, and pre-mixed drinks.
“Help ourself.”
He held the door open while she grabbed a small bottle of something red and no doubt comatosingly sweet. “Thanks.”
“I’m gonna hit the bathroom.” He closed the fridge door and looked at her in concern. “Can you survive for a few minutes without me?”
“I guess I’ll have to. I’m not going to follow you to the toilet.”
Obviously,” he drawled. “You gave up that opportunity when we were eight.”
“Twelve.”
“Ten.”
He chuckled and walked from the room, leaving her alone with the hovering threat of chatter from the other end of the house.
It was time to go incognito. She didn’t have the energy to smile at strangers. Alcohol would help, but for now, she needed cool fresh air…and maybe another glimpse at the menacing eyes of the man she’d met on the porch.
She shoved the bottle into her coat pocket and sauntered down the hall, measuring her steps to lessen the clap of her heels. She reached the front door without notice and pulled it open, slipping into the darkness of twilight without a word.
The man was still at the end of the porch, a beer bottle now visible in his hand as he leaned over, resting his elbows on the bannister. He didn’t acknowledge her presence. She supposed a man with arrogance ebbing off him in waves didn’t have to. His dismissal gave her the opportunity to appreciate his ass stretched in well-worn jeans and the perfection of how his black jacket rested at his hips to give her an unhindered view.
“Hi,” she offered for a second time.
He didn’t move, didn’t even spare her a glance as she approached the bannister. He continued staring straight ahead as he lifted the beer bottle to his lips and took a long pull.
“It’s a lovely night for a family dinner.” Was he a distant relative? God, she hoped not, otherwise Dominic’s inbred tendencies were rubbing off on her.
He replied with a jut of his chin. A jut of his God. Damn. Chin.
What an asshole. And wasn’t she just the stupidest set of ovaries to walk the earth, because it only made her itch to push his blatant need for solitude, to poke at him with questions until he acknowledged her with the respect she deserved. The respect any human deserved.
“So…you like beer…” she drawled, glib as hell.
The corner of his mouth twitched as he continued to focus on the street. But still, no answer.
She could smell him, could practically taste his delicious aftershave on her tongue with each inhalation. He was a taunt to all her senses…well, except her ears because the pretentious ass wouldn’t say a word.
He took another swig from his bottle and straightened to face her. She could see his eyes now, the steely silver, almost blue, that made her shiver with their ferocity. He was tall, too. At least an inch above her even with her heels.
She pulled the pre-mix bottle from her jacket pocket and twisted the lid to keep her hands busy. She could see two outcomes eventuating. Either he would smile, knocking her off her feet with the brilliance of his appeal. Or he was going to pull a gun from the inside of his jacket and blow her brains out.
Player or gangster. He could totally pull off both.
“I’m usually a wine drinker myself.” She raised the bottle of bubbly red liquid in her hand, slowly tilting it to her mouth. She took a sip, licked the alcohol from her lips in a deliberately seductive provocation, then lowered the bottle again.
Still, he gave her nothing. Noth-ing. He was the most accomplished jerk she’d ever come across, and yet she still couldn’t ditch the intrigue and walk away. Without a word, he had her tied around his little finger, begging for attention.
“I like your jeans.” She ogled his crotch, wanting to return the discomfort of how humiliating this one-sided conversation was becoming. “They’re snug.”
His lips quirked, giving her a glimpse of straight white teeth. Asshole. Asshole. Ass-hole! He was gorgeous, the faintest hint of humor turning his dangerous eyes playful. She lifted the bottle to her mouth again, this time ignoring any pretense of seduction as she gulped at the liquid.
“Are you always this charm—”
The front door creaked open and she turned to find Dominic eying them both skeptically. “What’s going on?”
She smiled, the biggest, fakest smile she had in her arsenal. “I’m having an in-depth conversation with this lovely gentleman.”
“Really?”
Dominic frowned, his brows pulling deeper with every passing second.
“Yep.”
There was gushing amounts of sarcasm in her tone. “First we conversed about our drinking habits, then fashion. I was about to bring up the topic of politics and world peace when you rudely interrupted.”
She glanced at the man in the corner, an arrogant smirk now curving those sensuous lips. He wasn’t the only one capable of being a jerk.
“Well, that’s strange…” Dominic came closer. “Because Keenan doesn’t talk.”

synopsis

Roya desperately wishes she was above ground, on a sunny patio, watching the lake lap up on the shore. Instead, she finds herself trapped with the Lucidites. Her brother is mysteriously wasting away, and at every turn she finds a new betrayal. Just when she thinks she’s finally escaping the Institute, a new danger unveils itself. A secret society of Dream Travelers has declared war on the Lucidites by abducting a head official. It’s up to Roya to figure out who’s behind it and how to save everyone she cares about most. More action packed than its predecessor, Stunned is captivating and will leave audiences squirming from the tension and also begging for more.

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of the audio book for an honest review.

The narration on this was just as great as Awoken. I jumped straight into this one as soon as Awoken was finished. Roya did what she needed to in Awoken but now she is left with more questions and a brother, who knew. Roya is done with the Lucidites and wants mothing more to be back to being normal.  But her brother has been acting off and is sick for some reason. Roya finds herself in a new predicament and is called upon to lead another mission. Will she do what’s asked of her or leave and never look back?

This series is getting better and better. I so enjoyed this one possible a little more than Awoken. The twist and turns were great had me hanging on to every word. Even the side story of Roya/George/Aiden had me hooked and wanted to know what Roya was going to do. The ups and downs in this were stomach dropping just like a big roller coaster. As always the ending was jaw dropping. I had to start Revived right away.

This is shaping up to be another great series by Sarah Noffke.

Wed by Wednesday

What happens when a naive city girl answers a personal ad to marry a bachelor farmer from the hills of Tennessee? Destiny! Read how Orla and Jethro’s story started back in the 1960s…and find out exactly how deliciously naughty these two can be!   This insta-love 50,000-word novel is filled with humor, romance, and just enough erotica to keep you coming back for more. Wed by Wednesday is the prequel to Sarah O’Rourke’s Paradise series, and like all of her books, it can be read as a standalone.

“Listen, chaste kisses are fine for what they are. Quick exchanges of affection. An innocent way to tell somebody they mean something. When you wanna show a woman that she’s what’s lighting the fire in your gut, though… quick and innocent pecks just don’t do the trick. Nah, a man goes dark and dirty for that kind of lesson. He wants his woman wet and hot. And he wants her that way everywhere. Her mouth. Her core. Everywhere.”

“Thirty- one?” Orla echoed faintly. “He’s thirty-one?” The longer Nellie talked, the less this man sounded like the one she’d been corresponding with for weeks.   Why, her Jethro, was sweet and soft-spoken, and certainly not as old as thirty-one. No. Her Jethro was nothing like the animal the older woman was describing.

“Yes, ma’am.   He surely is. I changed that rascal’s diapers myself,” Nellie announced with a decisive nod, her eyes widening as she apparently noticed the surprise on young Orla’s face. “What?” You mean to say that you didn’t know how old your beau was?”

“Well, not his exact age. I mean, his letters indicated he was older than me. I just assumed there were only a few years between us,” Orla confided in a strangled whisper. Hells bells! Her future husband had over a whole decade’s experience on her. What in the world about her would attract a worldly, well-off man like him? “Why hasn’t he wed before now then?” she asked without realizing she’d spoken out loud.

Nellie was quick with an answer to her question, however. “Oh, many a girl around these parts have tried to lasso Jethro’s heart, but that surly demeanor of his runs all decent women right off his scent once they get a whiff of how crabby he is for two thirds the day.”

“What’s he doin’ for the other third?” Orla asked shakily.

“Oh, he’s sleepin’. Collectin’ his strength so he can keep his title as the world’s most boorish bachelor and all such manner of things. Truly, ‘bout the only time I’ve heard him stay civil for more than fifteen minutes is the hour long sermon we all sit through once a week at the church. And maybe once or twice a year when he’s paying his respects at his dear departed momma and daddy’s grave or something such. Otherwise, he’s blunt as a hammer and speaks with a tongue sharper than any knife you’ll ever come across.”

Who is Sarah?   Sarah O’Rourke is actually two besties who live three states apart and write at all hours of the day and night! Born and raised in the Southern United States, they are overly attached to their one-click accounts, can’t make it through the day without copious doses of caffeine, and spend way too much time on the phone with each other.  Between them, they have four children and twenty years of marriage…one to a super soldier and the other to egomaniac engineer. They hate empty chocolate wrappers and writer’s block, love to talk to readers…and oh, by the way, they write about strong, kick-ass women and hot alpha heroes!

WANNA STALK THESE TWO….
