Last Chance (Chances Novel Book 1)

At twenty-three, Shep is a single, self-proclaimed playboy. Yet from the first moment he saw Honey, he knew he would do whatever it took to have her. And Shep never loses when he sets out to win.

Honey was eighteen and happy with her simple life. She never thought she wanted anything more than that. Until she met Shep, the fast-talking, card-dealing city boy who invades her small town for the summer.

Young love is tricky. No matter how hard and fast you fall, sometimes that’s just not enough. The end of summer comes all too fast, Honey and Shep soon learn that maybe the heat they felt was just the summer sun.

At fifty-three, Shep’s widowed and has two kids now. He’s never loved again like he did that summer. Then, a familiar smile on a website leaves Shep wondering: how many chances do you get at true love?

I received this book from the author.

Wowzers!!  This book is something different to read.  The story is told in a flashback style of past events while the main character is retelling parts in the present.

Shep and Honey…Hot Mess Express!!  These two combust into a passionate love affair and when things were good…..things were good…but when the shoe dropped, then things were soooo bad.  These two met when they were both relatively young.  Shep had just left the army and this love was his first real relationship.  Honey was a young girl of 18 and Shep overwhelmed her in the best and worst of ways.

These two needed some serious Dr. Phil time.  Communication is a huge issue causing so many fights and problem.  When Honey calls it off, it sets off a new path for both who long for the other but are happy with where they are and what they have accomplished.

When fate brings them together some years later in life, they both embrace the chance to be together while forgiving the sins of the past.  I enjoyed the fact Shep owned up to his actions and reactions, but that Honey also accepts responsibility in the complete melt down of the relationship.  Seems with age these two just might be getting it right the 2nd time around.

Tyranny of a Prince (Grace of Gods, #3) Book 3

All Hail the King: Modern Greek Gods YA/NA Series (Grace of Gods Book 4) Book 4

Book 1

After several millennia, the Greek Gods have awoken…

Unleashed from the depths of Tartarus the souls of the Gods returned to Earth, each claiming a vessel for themselves turning the lives of the chosen mortals upside-down.

Savannah is an average college student. She worked her butt off to get accepted into an exchange program to Greece getting her out of the States for the first time in her life. Little does she know that the exchange she signed up for was not quite as the brochure described.

Trapped on Mount Olympus amidst the other new Gods, Savannah learns the hard way that mythology is real and more dramatic than she could have ever imagined. And naturally, it all centers around the King of the Gods himself, Zeus, or as he likes to be called these days – Aidan.

With her heart on the line, Savannah embarks on a journey of self-discovery learning who her Goddess is and accepting that she’s really been in there all this time.

Book 2

In a world of Gods and mythologies Valentina still struggles to identify her own Goddess. Despite feeling out of place amongst others of her kind, nothing will stop her from protecting her friends from the dangers that begin to surround their new reign.

While grappling to name her inner Goddess, Valentina finds herself torn by the mysterious Griffin who leaves her frustrated and confused. She doesn’t understand the connection she feels toward him or why every time they start to get close he pulls away.

But relationships are the least of her problems when she’s kidnapped and trapped in the Underworld. Her Goddess has no choice but to awaken to help Valentina navigate her way through the doomed hallways of Hades and try to get back to Olympus before it’s too late for all the Olympians.

With a reluctant Goddess in her mind, Valentina fights to survive in a realm where death is the only outcome. Will history repeat itself or will the New Olympians write their own myths?

Book 3

Griffin has always known who his God was – the voice of self-loathing in the back of his mind. But his inability to adapt to the changing reality around him has nothing to do with accepting his God and everything to do with Hades’ place in the social stratosphere. The only thing that keeps him grounded is the beautiful Valentina, who stole his heart the first time she smiled.

But everything he has ever loved has been taken away from him and he doesn’t want Valentina to be another part of the pattern. So, he does what he thinks is the best thing to protect her. Even if it happens to be the one thing that might hurt her.

War has descended on Mount Olympus and Griffin finds himself thrust in between the Titans and Olympians. Soren, self-appointed leader of the Titans, intends to kill them all and turn Earth into his own playground of despair and destruction. As Prince of the Underworld Griffin can’t stand by and just let that happen.

He might appear to be the anti-hero but with the ever-changing political landscape of Olympus now is his chance to stand up and do the right thing. But will Hades let him? Will history repeat itself or will the New Olympians write their own myths?

Book 4

After several millennia, the Greek Gods have awoken…

Unleashed from the depths of Tartarus the souls of the Gods returned to Earth, each claiming a vessel for themselves turning the lives of the chosen mortals upside-down.

Aidan Cartwright has led a privileged life, wanting for nothing, having a perfect physique and face to go with it, his life is charmed. Then he finds out, to no great surprise, he has been chosen to bear the soul of the King of the Gods – Zeus.

“I have become the one thing I never wanted to be – my father. But now was my chance to change that, and to prove to myself I could be better.”

Caught up in a plot established over four hundred years ago Aidan has to over come his fears and insecurities, rising to be the man he’s always wanted to be but was too afraid to become.

It’s up to Aidan to save the world and the Greek Pantheon in this action-packed finale to the well-received Grace of Gods series by Kyleigh Castronaro!

FANGIRL TURNED WRITER. SLYTHERIN SHADOWHUNTER FROM DISTRICT FOUR.

I’m fairly confident that I came out of womb reading the book. I’ve always loved stories in whatever medium they come. Books, movies, television shows… It didn’t matter. I didn’t discriminate (I still don’t!). It was only a natural progression that I become a writer myself.

I’ve been telling stories for as long as I’ve been reading. Even if it was just standing in front of my family acting out dramatic retellings of my day or making up stories of my own it didn’t matter. It was only a matter of time until I branched out into being a real writer and sharing my stories with friends and strangers alike. And you know what? It’s the best job in the world.

I write dirty, sexy stories about humans & their supernatural lovers. I grew up dreaming of being a Greek Goddess, not a Princess, so I wrote a book about it. In my Grace of Gods series normal humans find out they possess the souls of Greek Gods within them. They are whisked out of their lives and brought to Mount Olympus, thrust into the new and dramatic lives of their Gods.

Once upon a time, that’s how most of these stories start. But this isn’t one of those stories…

When Lena was 16 she saw something that no one believed she saw. And for the last 10 years she has lived in perpetual fear of the monster who set his sights on her.

On the outskirts of the city, she lives in a cabin with her daughter Solene who is kidnapped one night by the very creature Lena has been hiding from. Desperate to follow him through the portal the creature takes Solenn through, she is only able to go with the help of a Faery man named Aviur.

They enter Aithar Gloine: the place beyond the glass, where she meets Prince Dagon and both men vow to help her find her daughter. But they also want to figure out what makes Lena so special in their realm.

With their help, Lena learns things about herself that will forever change the world she lives in. She also finds herself caught up in a whirlwind of emotions anchored to the two men who are helping her. It splits her heart and desires between the two. Her humanity wants her to choose one over the other; but does she have to? Things are different in Aithar Gloine, and as much of an outsider as she is… Lena has the heart of a Faery.

Get whisked away to another world in this magical retelling of the classic Fairy Tale Rumplestilskin.

Goodreads

This is a re-telling of Rumpelstiltskin, but a beautiful story nonetheless. Lena was a witness to a horrific event when she was younger but no one believed her about it. She later has a child but due to her paranoia she lives in constant fear. She has isolated herself and her daughter. One day her nightmares come true and her child is taken through the mirror. She gets help from a fae and she enters their realm. As she is learning about this other realm she finds things out about herself and the two men that are helping her. She uncovers many secrets but with these bring many more questions. She is falling for these two men but she also needs to find her daughter. The twist at the end really makes the story fall into place. The story overall is great but I found myself trying, too hard at times, to remember all the different types of magical beings that were being introduced into the story. I’m a sucker for Fairy Tales and this is another great one!

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review*

Who doesn’t love a fairy tale? Especially a twisted fairy tale! Yes, please! This book has merged a few of my favorite genres into one. Dystopian, paranormal, fairy tale with a twisted happily ever after. This is a great re-telling of Beauty and the Beast. We start with Quill. She escaped the trapped life in the city under her sadistic father and is living freely among the Desecrated. She is trying to help others gain this freedom as well. All hell breaks loose when she goes into the city trying to gather information on other Desecrated that were kidnapped. Here she runs into tall, dark and handsome. She hates him! Loathes him! She then finds her sister by accident and does all she can to help her escape. This is where things get tricky. She gets caught and ends up trading her life for her sister’s. Now Quill is on this incredible journey learning things about the world that are supposed to be make-believe. She is one strong woman and brings even the most strongest of man, or “other”, to his knees. Desecrated Beauty is action packed and fast moving. The author will keep you wanting. Once you start you will have to finish! I look forward to more in this series.
