Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.
Lea Winkelman, single mom of two boys. Living in the Midwest. Works full time, and writes as a part time job. I enjoy writing poetry. To me it’s a short story in simple quick words. It’s not like what you would think of when you say poetry. I do write stories as well. I have a few out, with more coming.
When you are writing, what are some go to’s that you needs? IE Foods to eat, noise level, place to sit.
Any sugary food, a nice glass of cold koolaid. Snacky food. Chips, popcorn, and Pandora in the background
What are you favorite things about attending signings?
Meeting new authors, meeting fans new and old. Getting to talk about my work.
What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?
Edgar Allan Poe , Shakespeare, Maya Angelo to start. Then there’s , JR Tolken, Hemmingway, Stephen King, and so many more.
When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person?
I don’t have a set schedule as my work one varies, as well as my kids being home. I try to balance life and writing. So I’m not taking away from the boys
What is your favorite memory so far as an author?
Seeing that first book in paperback. Actually holding it and smelling it. To see what I wrote on paper, to be in an actual book people read
Do you have a book that is your most prized possession? What is it and why is it so amazing?
Unfortunately no, I lost most my collection when I moved out. I’m still trying to grow it back.
