Around the world humans are hallucinating after sleepless nights.
In a sterile, underground institute the forecasters keep reporting the same events.
And in the backwoods of Texas, a sixteen-year-old girl is about to be caught up in a fierce, ethereal battle.
Meet Roya Stark. She drowns every night in her dreams, spends her hours reading classic literature to avoid her family’s ridicule, and is prone to premonitions—which are becoming more frequent. And now her dreams are filled with strangers offering to reveal what she has always wanted to know: Who is she? That’s the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out. But will Roya live to regret learning the truth?
I received a copy of the audio book for an honest review.
I enjoyed the narrator they did a great job I felt as if I was there watching things unfold I felt every emotion Roya or any of them were going through.
Roya Stark never really felt like she fit in was always kind of on the outside. Wasn’t sure of her purpose until she was told what she was born to do. Now the world as she knows it is turned upside down and past lies come out. Can she handle all that is being thrown at her or will she give up.
There were so many characters in this book each one had something great a few had their moments. The evil ones played the part well and there were some I just wasn’t sure could be trusted. The complexities of these different characters were amazing. I absolutely loved Roya’s uncles. Then there was Ren well what can I say about shim I absolutely love him. Sorry I actually read the Ren books before listening this this series so he is and will always be a favorite.
There was so much going on with this I hated to turn it off at any point I needed to keep going. Between the training, Roya’s love interest, and everything going on around the institute I so wanted to keep it going. Sarah Noffke has a way of drawing me into the story like I am there actually a part of it not just watching from a distance. I could see each hallway, each door, room, everything of the institute as if I were walking the halls next to Roya. This had me so enthralled that I had to start the next book as soon as I finished this one. I could not wait to jump into continue the story I had to know what was going to happen next.
