To keep myself safe I hide in the world and let life move around me.
My new partner, Nathan, isn’t safe. Far from it.
The darkness coils around him, hidden by a shield created by a blinding smile. But those who live in darkness see past the façade we create.
Even in darkness, there is light. A spark that ignites, then explodes.
Every filthy word from his mouth, every possessive touch—I crave them, need them. Violent and passionate and everything I need to fill the void inside me, but one thing is missing.
He can never love me.
More than my heart is on the line, and I don’t know if I’ll survive our breach.

Delilah is just going through the motions in life due to a horrendous childhood. What she is doing is not living, she is merely existing.
Nathan has been battling his demons for years and can’t move forward because of guilt.
2 severely damaged people who can no longer fight their attraction. They finally give in, but at what cost? He made her feel again. She seems to be breaking him further. Will they be able remove past their pasts and finally be happy? Or has too much damage been done in the past for that to even be a possibility?
This was the first book I’ve read by K.I. Lynn. I absolutely loved it! The storyline kept me riveted. I couldn’t put it down, rushing to get to the end. Once I got there I don’t think I have ever cussed so much at a books ending. It’s a major cliffhanger, but I feel it was the perfect way for it to end. I immediately one-clicked book 2, Infraction. I couldn’t wait to see where Nathan and Delilah’s story went from there.
