VanPelts (White Trash Trilogy) by [Brandy Slaven]

Life is full of ups and downs. No one knows this better than Kendall Davis. She unfortunately learns from a young age that good things never last. With an unbearable childhood and then the death of her grandmother, Kendall turns to the only people who seem to know she still exists. Brian, Casey, and Will. But as all things tend to go in her life, they too are struck with tragedy. In her grief, Kendall decides to end it all, but what happens when fate has other plans? With no happy end in sight, she must learn to live with the loss and eventually learn to never give up on love.

**Trigger Warning**

This story does mention self-harm and does NOT have a happy ending. If you can stick it out with Kendall’s terribly sad beginning, be sure to catch her second chance at love in the White Trash Trilogy.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

I am a HUGE Kendall lover so getting this Prequel was what my heart needed.  I needed to feel the heart break for Kendall so make her eventual HEA with The Quad all that better.  If you have read Kendall’s series, you KNOW the VanPelts were her first love and they were taken away.  This novella gave us everything we needed to be in Kendall’s POV before she meets them.  We get to experience her loss of her loved Nana and man was that a rough one.  I had a few tears rolling down my face then.  We get to see her Gramps deteriorating after Nana’s loss but we get to meet Brian, Casey, and Will.

This book may only be 8 chapters, but it is filled to the brim with everything we need for the complete story of the boys and their girl.  I gotta admit I loved seeing The Quad pop up in the book and knowing Brian lied them, made it even sweeter to know these are the guys who will take care of their girl in the end.

If you are a fan of the series, you will absolutely need this book in your life and on your shelf.

Brandy Slaven lives in Tennessee with her husband and two wild children. If you can’t find her typing away at her laptop, you will find her with her nose in a book at the beach or hiking at a state park.
