Review by Twinsie Tenise
I’ve started and stopped 5 books in the past several weeks. I’m sure the books were great but nothing was keeping my intrest. Well nothing until I ran across this book. I was on social media and someone had mentioned it as a must read. I grabbed the book and it sat on my Kindle for a couple weeks then one day I opened it and other than the usual life interrupting my reading time, I couldn’t put it down.
In this book we meet 2 recovering addicts, Jake and Felix. They are both battling their own demons and doing their best to stay clean. With that being said, the worst thing they could do for their recovery is fall for each other…
This story wasn’t all hearts and flowers. It’s a tragic tale of what happens when 2 addicts meet and fall deep into one another. The Tragedy of Jake and Felix had all the things that make a book– the perfect book– in my opinion. I laughed, cried, I fell in love with Jake and Felix and their story of love and survival in a world that is hectic and ever changing. They have no one that believes in either of them so maybe being there for each other will be enough to get them through whatever metaphorical storms pass through in their lives. Even if some of the storms may be full on hurricanes.
J. Daniels is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Alabama Summer, Dirty Deeds and Sweet Addiction series, as well as her forbidden MM romance: The Tragedy of Felix and Jake.
Best known for her sexy, small-town romances, her debut novel, Sweet Addiction, was first published in 2014 and went on to become an international bestseller. Since then, she has published more than fifteen novels, including the Dirty Deeds series with Forever Romance.
Daniels grew up in Baltimore and currently lives in Maryland with her husband and three kids. A former full-time Radiologic Technologist, she began writing romance after college and quickly discovered a passion for it. You’ll still catch her in scrubs every now and then, but most of her time is spent writing these days—a career she is eternally grateful for.
Always an avid reader, Daniels enjoys books of all kinds, but favors Romance (of course) and Fantasy. She loves hiking, traveling, going to the mountains for the weekend, and spending time with her family.
