#Review – Stella (Extended Cut) by Emery LeeAnn & L.X. Deveraux
If you like revenge movies, read this book. If you liked “I Spit On Your Grave”, read this book. While of course this book is quite different than that movie, it definitely had the same raw, brutal, disturbing feel. And it was just as detailed too! If not more so, since this involves reading and using your own imagination.
The first version of Stella was released in an anthology that I myself was in as well. It was horror themed and packed with quite the punch! Then Emery added more to Stella and included a co-author as well. I remember messaging her when I finished the first version, wanting more!
This book is a continuation of Stella and how she gets revenge on the four guys who wronged her. And holy moly, does she ever get revenge! I think I read the whole thing with my eyes wide open! I do think one of the guys got off too easy if you ask me but she still got her revenge like she wanted. Pick up the book today to find out how!
#Review – Here Lies a Saint: A Dark Bully Academy Romance by C.L. Matthews
This series is insane! This book is insane! Just when I thought I knew what was happening and who was the bad guy and so on, boy was I wrong! I think the only person I trust is Colt.
When I started this series, I hadn’t read a lot of reverse harem type books. Maybe one or two but this series is hands down my favourite. And we still get three more books!
This is book 2 in the Here Lies Series and I definitely recommend reading the first book. I personally don’t think it should be read on it’s own, so grab book 1!
There is so much lies and deception in this book, it’s unreal! And can we talk about the hotness as well? I first started writing this review before I was completely done the book. I was actually going to say that book one has way more sexy times in it but…I think they’re both equal. There’s a scene close to the end of the book, in a woods that is beyond hot. CL Matthews definitely knows her way around a sex scene.
I find that the more questions that get answered, the more we’re left with unanswered questions just the same. Which I’m loving! There’s secrets, a kind of who-dunnit feel and you’re left not knowing who you can trust.
By the ending of the book, I was holding my breath through the last couple of chapters, trying to figure out what was going to happen and hoping for the best that nothing would happen to the characters I had fallen in love with.
Definitely an amazing read and I can’t wait for book 3!
#AuthorSpotlight – Daryl Banner
Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself and which Twinsie do you know.
My name is Daryl Banner. I’m an author of primarily male/male romance, but I also write dystopian and fantasy fiction, and I’m also a composer. I know all the awesome Twinsies! 🙂
When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?
The ones that follow. It is a challenge to find new territory in an established series to explore that is both unexpected and new, yet familiar enough to not jar the readers.
What comes first? The plot or characters?
Characters! The plot is absolutely dependent on who is living the experience, and quite often changes in the process of fleshing out the story.
What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?
Chuck Palahniuk
If you could ask that author three questions about their writing, writing process, or books, what would they be?
What was your most fulfilling writing experience? Which scene from one of your books still gives you chills when you think about its conception? Did you know in writing “Fight Club” that it would change the world?
What is harder? The blurb writing, naming the book, or naming the series?
Blurb writing is often the biggest struggle, though honestly all three of these things have given me substantial heartache. lol
What is your favorite memory so far as an author?
The first time another author read one of my books and gushed over it. It was the amazing Madeline Sheehan, and the book was The Beautiful Dead.
What is your definition of success?
Feeling okay when everything is not okay 🙂

#AuthorSpotlight – Stefanie Spangler
Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself and which Twinsie do you know.
My name is Stefanie Spangler, and I am the author of Dark Designs. Dee is my favorite Twinsie.
When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?
I know lots of authors who really hit their stride after the first hurdle, but for me, right after I finished the first book, life happened. So everything after the first one is definitely harder.
What comes first? The plot or characters?
For me, I have to start with the characters. Otherwise, I can’t quite see how the plot would go without knowing the characters first.
What is harder? The blurb writing, naming the book, or naming the series?
Usually, writing the blurb and coming up with the title is a team effort with a few people on the publishing team. Blurbs are just universally hard, I think.
