When you are writing, what are some go to’s that you needs? IE Foods to eat, noise level, place to sit.

It depends on the genre. When I was writing my rock star series, I was listening to rock music a lot, older rock like Journey, Bryan Adams, etc.

Talking about my characters with readers. Most of them know them better than I do!

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?

Heather Rainier. I’ve been trying to meet her for several years now, but our paths never seem to cross.

When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person?

Nope. I write when I hear the characters in my head.

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?

One of the first times a reader squealed when she met me. It was the best memory ever!

Do you have a book that is your most prized possession? What is it and why is it so amazing?

#WOTR2020 – #Review – Dead Girls: A New Adult Paranormal Romance by Krystle Able and R.L. Weeks

Dead Girls: A New Adult Paranormal Romance

Fans of Beautiful Creatures and Vampire Diaries will love this book.

Sisters, Pierce and Jackson, leave their luxurious lives in Manhattan behind them after their parents’ suicides, and move to a rainy town in Washington with their bitter Grandmother and her old, creepy mansion.
Level-headed and sensible Pierce is changing, and fiery Jackson must take the place of adult whilst their lives are turned upside down.
A serial killer is hunting red-heads, and with Pierce being the last girl in town to fit the profile, she’s on curfew. However, she keeps disappearing with a mystery man into the woods, coming back at night, covered in dirt with no memories and, holding a key to the only door in the mansion that’s off limits.
Things aren’t as the seem in the small town of Ridgeview. The monsters of stories could well be inside the walls of their home as well as outside.
No one is safe, no can be trusted.
Sometimes, the most beautiful smiles hide the darkest secrets…

Goodreads

Amazon

The most beautiful smiles hide the darkest secrets but sometimes the most disgusting scowls hide those same secrets. This entire book is based on secrets. Great secrets. Secrets that will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what the secret is and who we can trust. An intense and intriguing read. I could not put this book down until the very end. And the ending! It was an unforgettable ending that I was not anticipating. I finished this book with my heart pounding! Yes! It’s that good!

The first secret, right from jump, is the death of the two sister’s parents. They are uprooted from a lavish life in NYC where they want for nothing and moved to Ridgeview, Washington with a grandmother that clearly doesn’t want them. As they are trying to adjust, there are girls coming up missing and Pierce, the oldest sister, fits the profile of the next victim. Jackie, the younger sister, is incredibly worried and not sure how to handle the situation. And on top of it their grandmother doesn’t want either of them. She is a crazy old bat!

You don’t experience the paranormal aspect of the story until you are well into it but you just know it’s there. Once you stumble upon it, many questions arise and loyalties are questioned. This is one of those stories that you just can’t quite figure out and keeps you guessing up until the very end. It’s beautifully written and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Bravo!

#NewRelease #Dark #FairyTales #TriggerWarnings – Alice in Chains: A Twisted Fairy Tale by Nikki Landis and Crimson Syn

Alice In Chains: A Twisted Wonderland

It’s time to go now, Alice.
Time to dive back into that rabbit hole.
Hurry and finish your tea, Alice.
Then return to where dark things go.

The good doctor thinks he knows it all,
He listens with bated breath.
Pretending his questions are innocent,
Hoping he’s getting you wet.

Don’t cry, Alice.
You chained and broken girl.
You’re not as pure as you were before.
You belong in a twisted world.

You belong in a mad, mad world.
With queens, beasts, and Doms.
In a place where submission is sacred.
Close your eyes, think of the calm.

Remember the blood and pain.
So sweet are the torturous wails.
Succumb to symphonic sighs.
Make him believe your tales.

It’s time to go now, Alice.
You’ve already waited too long.
The ethereal realm you miss so much
Calls you back with its sensual song.

Take the good doctor with you, dear.
Show him where shattered things go.
He’s mad as a loon, but he’ll see soon.
Show him Wonderland. Show him home.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

First up…WHAT THE EFFFFF!!!!  Ya’ll heed the trigger warning Imma lay at your feet…its crazy and takes you on a dark ride.  Its emotional as EFF so be ready and don’t even tell me you weren’t warned.

I liked the twist of the doctor and Alice.  I liked how messed up it was and how I was like DUDE I am messed up for liking this!! BUT YET I did!!  LOL

It was a little bit slow but I think it needs to be slow so when you are in the thick of it you are like HOW DID I GET HERE!!! Plus HOW CAN WE GET OUT!!!!  Ya know.  It needs to set up slow and make you edgy.  You need the slow burn for the whole cat and mouse of it to start.  Lord when it starts you will a mess of anxiety!!!  I know I was!!

Again, I am going to stress this book is not for everyone!!  We see Alice being physically abuse and drugged plus the emotional abuse is just intense.  So please don’t go into this book unless you are ok with it.  I like some dark books but this was a bit darker then I like to go.  However, I did enjoy it and am kinda worried about my mental status at this time!! LOL

Crimson Syn is a new erotica author. She delves into those hot and heavy stories where her characters are pushed to their sexual limits. Her wicked pen dips into every little niche, even if it’s wrong and kinky. Vanilla, BDSM, BBW and that twisted taboo is what she wants to make you crave.
Her Hellbound Lovers MC series is her first attempt at a bad boy biker series. If you’re looking for sweet and innocent, you’ll find it, but not in that wholesome way you’re used to. No. Miss Syn delivers sex at its best, and the more innocent you are the more her alpha males will attempt to defile you.
Miss Syn is passionate about her family, her friends and her writing. Where she travels is her next setting, and her fantasies and dreams are her inspiration. She writes her alpha males tough and rough, and she expects for her female leads to be independent, bright women with lots of sexy curves.

First thing I have to say is that I love all things zombies, but this is a FIVE star read that got me chomping at the bit and ready for the next installment. It was great to get my hands on a zombie book that is different. Ground Zero is incredibly fascinating. It is a fast paced read that draws you in from the very beginning. It explains all the weird nuances that people noticed were “off” and by the time anyone realizes something is terribly wrong, the world goes to hell in a handbasket. It’s gripping and suspenseful and a bit creepy at times. Reading the story and realizing those nuances could really happen definitely adds to the creep factor. I am hooked and now off to read the next one!

#WOTR20 #AuthorSpotlight – Michel Prince

Michel Prince

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Michel Prince, USA Today best selling author that is constantly distracted by plot bunnies hopping all around the room.

When you are writing, what are some go to’s that you needs? IE Foods to eat, noise level, place to sit.

Although I can write when there is a TV on, it being off triples or quadruples my words. I do like music, to lock out family members, and have something to drink. What exactly depends on the time of day.

What are you favorite things about attending signings?

I love meeting people who’ve actually read my books. So much of writing is solitary and sending it out to the world never knowing what if anyone actually reads them. And if the signing has a dance afterward I will be making as ass of myself.

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?

Judy Blume. I love that she writes on so many levels she’s been there for me all my life I guess.

When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person?

I wish. Sadly I have a day job that can sometimes exhaust me and family members that want to see me… not sure what’s that about. And then there is my football addiction that knocks out 90% of the fall. When on deadline though I draw a line in the sand and kick people out of the house.

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?

A reader (who may or may not be a volunteer here) was in Nashville she walked up to me and placed a piece of paper in front of me and said “these are the ones I got, I want all the rest.” I’ve had that done to me one other time where someone tried a book or two of mine at a different signing then came back to me and wanted them all. It’s so very validating as an author.

Do you have a book that is your most prized possession? What is it and why is it so amazing?

I have three I guess. One was signed by JR Ward, enough said. The second was signed by Darynda Jones siting me as a good stalker. And the third is a book called The Changeling that I read as a kid. It’s one I could never give away or put in a garage sale. The book stuck with me probably thirty five years after I read it.

#WOTR20 #AuthorSpotlight – Claudia Shelton

Claudia Shelton

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

CLAUDIA SHELTON – A word-filled-story-filled person who tries to fill the world with fast-paced romantic suspense/thrillers and contemporary/women’s fiction romance. I’m also in the process of branching out into a small-town cozy mystery series or an action-adventure thriller suspense series. On a personal note, Claudia considers herself a traveler, music lover and water person. Her main priority is spending time with family, friends and her two sweet, conniving rescue dogs.

When you are writing, what are some go to’s that you needs? IE Foods to eat, noise level, place to sit.

There’s nothing in particular as far as food. In fact when I’m into physically writing on deadline, I get so into the story that people have to remind me to eat.

What are you favorite things about attending signings?

I love meeting everyone–readers, other authors, and the fabulous organizers! It’s one day of the year when everything books is perfectly aligned!

When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person?

I’m always writing in my head, but when I’m on deadline I try to physically write at least 7,000 words a week.

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?

When a reader comes up to me and tells me how much they like my books! Always makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the insides. Sometimes I need to be reminded that what I write, does make a difference.

Do you have a book that is your most prized possession? What is it and why is it so amazing?

“THE SAILOR DOG” by Margaret Wise Brown, pictures by Garth Williams (A Simon & Schuster–Little Golden Book, 1953)– This was my favorite childhood book that took me away to a world of make-believe! I loved how Scuppers The Sailor Dog traveled around the world in search of adventure and never gave up. Nowadays I have a copy of this book, that I found at a bookseller’s booth at an antique fair, sitting beside a cover copy of my very first published book “Risk of a Lifetime”.

Review by Tenise

5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review.

Silver and Spice picks up where Silver and Gold left off. There was an emergency with Bay so Kyson rushed to the hospital, thinking the worst.

These two! Kyson has feelings for Bay and at times it’s hard to understand what Bay is feeling because hes so freaking stubborn! I mean, its admirable, he wants to put his son Arlo first, but he doesn’t need to sacrifice love and happiness for himself in order to do so. The perfect partner for him, and second parent for his son is right there in front of his face but hes so blinded by his “life plan” and set in his ways that hes going to lose the best thing that ever happened to him and Arlo.

Ok- confession time! Don’t tell any of the other guys I said this, but of all the couples in this series, Kyson and Bay are my favorites. Maybe that’s why this book was such an emotional read for me. I was ALL OVER THE PLACE! I laughed, cried a couple times, and stressed out for most of the book because I wanted these two to be happy and I knew in my heart they would be happy together. Don’t even get me started on the sexual tension between them. It was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

Silver and Spice had everything I look for in a great book and more, including an adorable little boy and a meddling grandmother who was beyond hilarious. I would love to drink coffee and gossip with Millie, she was the best!

Everyone needs to meet Kyson and Bay. Please remember- I met them first- they are my BESTIES, you can’t have them. I’m serious. If you haven’t already, you need to meet the other men from The Silver in the City series. They are all FANTASTIC!

A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana as an instructional coach/teacher in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing school-aged children, and wondering how she and her husband of nearly two decades haven’t driven each other insane yet. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.
She loves chocolate, wine, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.

#Zombies #survival #2ndChance – Savage by Jade C. Jamison

Savage

This is an alternate cover edition for B00VF8CLC6.

Kill or Die

Nina Hardwick has had a rough life since leaving high school, but inside she is still the girl looking for a silver lining. The past several years have left their toll on her psyche, and just as she feels like she’s climbing out of a deep abyss, her life and the lives of millions of others fall into shambles as a virus overtakes the country and leaves a plague of undead armies scouring the land.

In a desperate attempt to get away from the infected, Nina and some neighbors speed out of town, nearly killing a man on a motorcycle. When they stop to rescue him, Nina realizes that he is the one man from her past she never got over, the guy who should have been her high school sweetheart until she messed it up. But this unrequited love, Kevin Savage, says he doesn’t even remember her. Or does he?

Nina, Kevin, and her neighbors head to the wilderness and fight to survive not only the plague but also hunger, cold, their inner demons…and even each other. Will they survive and, more importantly, will her heart?

Goodreads

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

OMG! I. AM. BLOWN. AWAY by this book.

I am a big Jade fan but this book is soooo different from anything I have read of hers. I have pretty much read all the books in her library but like 4 so to say I know her writing style wouldn’t be a lie. The anxiety and tension of this book totally sneaks up on you and then BOOM you are a stressed out MESS!! This book is VERY slow but it’s very purposeful in its pace. We, the reader, are in Nina’s mind. We ARE Nina. We get to see her reasons for why she does things and why she feels the way she does. She is a very broken woman because life hasn’t always been easy and she kinda has some “what if’s” playing in her head…..alll those what ifs are about our yummy Mr. Savage……..

Nina and her neighbors end up almost running over Nina’s biggest life regret, Kevin, when trying to get to help Nina’s elderly aunt. The story is the 4 of them making due in a survival situation during the worst possible time to be in the Colorado Mountains. Yes they are homebound essentially and dealing with a few “biters” but the story is not really about the virus but the people. The story is about what people will and won’t do to survive. How people can change to go with the new world or how they break and go a little insane with the new world. I totally think that the characters in this book are actual representations of what can happen if this situation were to arise. The best of couples can fall apart and strangers can become your ally and trusted companion.

Now to all of you “I am not gonna read it because it has zombies in it”…get over it. Zombies are a minimal part of the story. PEOPLE and SURVIVAL are the point of this story. I can tell you I was messaging Jade completely freaking out at parts and then bawling at parts of the story. This book was a book I was eagerly waiting to read. I will not deny it but to say it wasn’t at all what I thought it would be isn’t a lie. I expected a different kind of a book…more action and fighting but what I got was an amazing look into the souls of people. The heart of what makes us a society of good or not good people. I feel that this book is showcasing a whole new level for Jade’s writing abilities. She can write some hot and naughty rockers we all have no doubt but this book and its main character, Nina, is just so deep and inspiring. It really knocked my socks off…..

“Nobody puts Baby in a corner.” While you’re more likely to see Jade headbanging instead of Dirty Dancing, she—like Baby—won’t be put in a corner…or a box. So even though you can’t really stick her books in one genre, you could say she mostly writes steamy Contemporary Romance—and, while you’re at it, you’ll notice in her stories that Jade freaking loves Colorado, hard music, coffee, bad words, and CHOCOLATE!!! And so do her characters.

Oh, and there’s always a glimmer of hope…because if life doesn’t have that, what’s the damn point?

We are THE TWINSIES… We love to read…We love to promote the authors we read… and we love to stir up TROUBLE… It's who we are and what we do
