Death Match: A Michele Shepard Story (The True Death Series Book 7) by [R.K. Gleason]

Human beings aren’t the only creatures, in all the planes of existence, threatened by change and fear the unknown. Horace’s recent confrontations with ‘superior beings’ and the unusual circumstances of Niki’s pregnancy have placed a bounty on both their heads. That is, unless Jehna can broker a deal that ensures everyone involved has something to lose, without tearing the group of friends apart.

As the details of the blood-contract unfold, it becomes increasingly obvious it’s not ‘if’ the agreement will be broken, but when…

What will it mean for Horace and Niki when the lines are crossed, not to mention Shepard and their angelic allies? Will their enemies finally be able to swing the axe they’ve been grinding for centuries?

Which of the friends will fall under the heavy blade of revenge, and who will be left standing at the end of… Death Match?

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Death Match is all sorts of sideways, full of “it’ll be fun”, enthusiastic consumption, and being uppercase FUCKED! This is one of my favorite books in this series but not for the same reasons I enjoyed the others. In the other books, there was a lot of crazy gore and crude humor that made the books ‘off the wall’ enjoyable for me. This one though, a lot of people matured and really grew as characters and more of a familial unit. Our ragtag band of misfits is in a world of trouble. Lives will be taken, some spared, and all in the name of what exactly? Even a sliver of God can make a loophole. The guys all band together and keep to the contract that Jehna laid out while constantly being surprised when they learn of another important piece of the contract. As the story unfolds it will pull at your heartstrings but also keeps you on your toes with the action and wit that I am sure will never go away with this group. I am going to patiently wait for the next installment in this series. In the meantime, I am going to read Bob’s book, Savaged. On the other hand, I really miss Shepard and Horace. I can’t wait to see what trouble the gang can get into next!

I was born high in the Andes and raised by a band of wandering gypsies. At the ripe old age of 7, I struck out on my own, dabbling in the arts of alchemy and personal financing. Neither of the trades paid off. At 13 I became the personal juggler for Stephen King, but alas, that didn’t last long either. Since then, I’ve wandered aimlessly through life and this planet, stopping along the way to help people and smite the wicked.

A little while ago I decided to try my hand at writing. I published The True Death series independently in 2015 and currently have twelve books published to date.

#WOTR21 #Review – Nightingale (Steel MC Montana Charter #9) by Michel Prince and Wren McCabe

56375321. sy475

In book nine of the Steel MC Montana Charter: A few years from a divorce Amber Ferguson, a single mother of two, was juggling at the level she could handle when a motorcycle accident blocked the highway and sent dozens to the hospital. Rushing to use the skills she had from years as an emergency room nurse, she helps stabilize the injured as they waited for transport. Amber, used to healing then sending people on their way, finds the Steel MC and more importantly, a bearded man named Mountain. They were now welcoming her into their world. But when their world threatens her family she will need to decide if the security they provide is enough to let the love she feels grow.

Standing out was never an issue for Björn ‘Mountain’ Jensen. Class photos, sports teams, even in his own family he was tallest, broadest and epitomized his Viking heritage. With the Steel MC Montana Charter, his size wasn’t the reason the man stood out. While the largest man by far, his past set him apart from the group. A handful of former Roadkillers had tried to patch over, but after a year, only Mountain remained. Prospect for life, as he tried to gain the trust of his former enemies, to prove his loyalty and worth. When tragedy strikes during a ride, Mountain steps in and his efforts do not go unnoticed. For Mountain, a woman willing to help captures more than his attention. Sending him into a personal skid where his only true salvation will come from the trust and love of his Nightingale.

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I purchased the eBook from amazon.

Oh holy hell!! 1% in the book and my heart stopped. I was holding my breath trying to figure out if any of the steals were going to make it back home after this ride. Seriously, Amber was a beacon of light in the midst of chaos.

Amber had to get her kids to the drop off point for her ex-husband’s weekend with them already running late she drove upon a melee of bikes all over the road. Her nursing training kicked in and was out helping those that needed medical attention. This caught mountains attention watching a stranger his Nightingale helping his brothers.

Mountain is still trying to find his place in the steels. He has put more than his time in being a prospect. Now he realizes he wants more he wants a home and a family. Nightingale has knocked him off his feet and her two kids have made their mark to. Now all mountain has to do is show Nightingale not all guys are like her ex-husband.

There is so much chemistry between Nightingale and mountain. Absolutely love the interactions between them and also between her kids and the steals pets. I also enjoyed seeing all the other steels and their families especially the little ones they had me in stitches. Those kids are going to keep all the steels on their toes not only the men but the women too.

I have to say Hack and Baldy are my favorites but mountain is right up there with them. I will warn you that you may need a few Kleenex to help you through this one. I am so ready for more of this group. I have enjoyed the ladies as much as the men.

#Review – Stella (Extended Cut) by Emery LeeAnn & L.X. Deveraux

I’ve been planning my revenge for almost a year now.

I was thoroughly abused.
I was beaten and left for dead.
They made me their victim.

The culprits thought I was weak, but now they will meet their maker.

Not one of them will be left alive, even if I have to forfeit my own life in the process.

*Part 1 of Stella was released in Scream Queens Charity Anthology – it will be included in this extended cut*

If you like revenge movies, read this book. If you liked “I Spit On Your Grave”, read this book. While of course this book is quite different than that movie, it definitely had the same raw, brutal, disturbing feel. And it was just as detailed too! If not more so, since this involves reading and using your own imagination.

The first version of Stella was released in an anthology that I myself was in as well. It was horror themed and packed with quite the punch! Then Emery added more to Stella and included a co-author as well. I remember messaging her when I finished the first version, wanting more!

This book is a continuation of Stella and how she gets revenge on the four guys who wronged her. And holy moly, does she ever get revenge! I think I read the whole thing with my eyes wide open! I do think one of the guys got off too easy if you ask me but she still got her revenge like she wanted. Pick up the book today to find out how!

#WOTR21 #Review – Topaz (Steel MC Montana Charter #8) by Michel Prince and Wren McCabe

54255275. sy475

In book eight of the Steel MC Montana Charter: Sarah ‘Topaz’ Cardell had been with the Steels in Montana from the start, moving up from the New Mexico Charter with other Hoez to be there for the men. Her place in the club, allowed her to shelter her damaged heart. For nearly a decade, her past had stayed in the past until a man so similar to the one she’d lost, shows up in Turnabout Creek. Will she allow herself to find out who Onyx really is? And if she does will she be ready to meet the man he is?

Enforcer, Dallas ‘Onyx’ King took a chance leaving Los Angeles and moving with one of his best friends to Turnabout Creek, Montana. An amputee from an injury when he was on patrol with the LAPD, his choices were limited. He knew when he arrived he would be the only chip in the cookie and found himself pleasantly surprised to not be. The men, women, and children of the Steel MC welcomed him with open arms and no judgment even when it came to his limited mobility. That is, all but one.

When a private argument between Topaz and Onyx turns into a kidnap and torture by a group set on taking over the country, the past will be revealed and true emotions emerge. Can Topaz and Onyx put any hard feelings aside and save themselves from their abductors? And will the true desires bubbling under the surface change both their worlds?

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I purchased this book from amazon

So excited to be reading Topaz and Onyx’s story.  I have been intrigued by Topaz from the start and Onyx caught my attention when he first arrived in Montana. I absolutely loved this story and commend Michel Prince and Wren McCabe for writing stories with such depth and topics that most would avoid.  They do not pull their punches when confronting these topics.

Topaz made her way up to Montana with other hoez from New Mexico chapter. She runs the Bar/Restaurant/strip club in town for the Steels. Topaz doesn’t want to tie herself down to one person again all that does is cause heartache and pain.  She makes sure the guys know there is a no strings attached deal with her.  No attachment no heartache. That is until Onyx she avoids him at every turn because the sight of him pulls up so many past memories for her.

Onyx arrives in Montana and knows it will not be easy fitting in with the color of his skin. Topaz and Onyx avoid each other but for totally different reasons.  Onyx believes Topaz is prejudiced and Onyx is like a seeing a ghost for Topaz.   When Onyx decides to confront Topaz they are kidnapped and are trying to make it out alive.  Onyx sees a new side to Topaz and realizes she is not prejudice but haunted by her past.

I loved Onyx and Topaz they are a perfect pair and complement each other so well.  I love the destructive side we see of Topaz. I liked the storyline for this book so many times I was holding on by my fingernails waiting to see what was going to happen next. It was amazing to see these two finally be together and fell a belonging not only with each other but with the Steels.  Mountain is up next and I so excited to finally read his story. He has put in so much time with the Steels as a prospect it is finally his time to shine.

Freaky is trying to find his place.  He has his brothers but he still feels on the outside at times. He flips houses for the Steel’s which is good money but it is back breaking work and takes time to get reap the benefits of selling the homes.  Freaky has an idea how to make quick cash for the Steel’s but he keeps hitting road blocks when it comes to everyone seeing it Freaky’s way.  Freaky has a lot on his plate trying to make more money and being charged with planning Hacks bachelor party. When Freaky meets Meadow he is mesmerized by his Dreamer.

When Meadow comes to town, she meets Freaky and begins to see that not all men are like her ex. She also sees there is a whole different way of life and thinks things could be different for her. Freaky is set on making Dreamer his. These two set off fireworks. They are there to support one another especially when things start to go crazy with the new MC in town and when Dreamer ex finds her.

I so enjoyed reading Dreamer and Freaky story.  I was laughing at times and biting my nails other times so good and kept me on the edge of my seat. I have to say I really loved the side story of my man Hack and Preacher Girl’s wedding.  Really these are not just a bunch of guys who are together supporting each other but they are truly a family. To see all these guys fall hopelessly in love with their women and the women supporting one another. They all come together as a support system and help each other out when needed.  I’m so excited to start Topaz and see where the next journey takes me.

I purchased this book from Amazon.

This one is about Sawyer/Bounty and Annie/Cream. Bounty has been intrigued by Annie since the first time he saw her. Annie is a loner she does what needs to be done and moves out. She never hangs around long anywhere.

Annie is on an extraction of a mom and kid that goes wrong. She calls in help from the Steels. Now she is stuck in their town due to her baby Peaches needing repaired. We learned so much about Annie her past and how it (or maybe you could say present) is wreaking havoc on the Steels. We also learn more about Bounty and his interesting upbringing.

Bounty is amazing with Cream he’s so patient and understanding with her and no matter how much she tries to ignore his flirting and pushes him away he is there standing strong. I love how the entire family pulls together and supports and helps Cream even if she tries to keep them away from her issues. I absolutely love the Steel family and I want to know everything about all of them. Cannot wait to dive into the next one.

#WOTR21 #Review – Free (Steel MC Montana Charter #5) by Michel Prince and Wren McCabe

Free (Steel MC Montana Charter #5)

Duke Weston rode out of Turnabout Creek on a wave of cheers and well wishes as a hometown hero. Nicknamed Hollywood when he returned from LA to help his wayward nephew from being pulled into the Road Killers and the drug culture they’ve cultivated. The LAPD SWAT member joined up with the Steel MC Montana Charter only to discover he couldn’t commute and be part of the club. With life-altering decisions needing to be made, can Hollywood find his way home and help take down the Road Killers? Or will he be drawn back to the big city where there are no demands on him once he clocks out?

Fiona “Free” Anderson was rescued by the Steel MC’s Prez and VP. What everyone thought would be a few days layover, then a relocation, turned into more than a year. Dancing at the Roadside Bar, Free’s stayed on the edges of the club. Some believe it’s because of her past connection with the Road Killers and that she’s holding back secrets. Only Free knows why she fears to make a connection and never truly invests in anything past the next moment. Has she overstayed her welcome with the club? Or has she finally found a place to call home?

With Hollywood’s nephew a year from graduation, uprooting his life in LA needs to be about more than family obligations. A woman, beautiful, but damaged, might be exactly the hook to bring him back permanently. Only her past keeps resurfacing, and Hollywood wonders if it’s because she never let it go, or that things in her past refuse to take no for an answer?

Time, trust, and loyalty to the Steel MC may be Free and Hollywood’s only answer to a lifetime together.

Warning: Adult 18+. Possible triggers.

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I purchased the eBook from amazon.

I really have not liked free in this series. She was brought to the steals after being beaten by her mam a nomad with the rival MC. She just seems shady to me and one to be involved with the other girls. The club does watch her because hello rival MC.

Free knows she’s not a part of the Steels and knows they want her to spill what she knows about the Road Killers. But she learned at an early age not to be loose lips Lisa. That can get you in trouble. Be seen and not heard was her way or as she put it “better to be invisible than be a visible problem”. Free never had it easy losing her mom at a young age and being tossed into the system. Leading to her being on the streets doing what she had to do to survive.

Duke/Hollywood was a town hero who left the first chance he got. He was LA SWAT but was brought back home to help his sister and nephew. He found the steels we’re trying to make his town better. Now with the steels, family and free catching his eye he may have a reason to return to the town that always had his back.

I have to say by the end I understood free more and I actually kind of liked her. Hollywood is amazing always knew what free needed when he needed to push and when he needed to back off. These two make a powerhouse team. By Hollywood being in town sounds like we may have a new member sometime soon with Hollywood’s buddy. Kind of intrigued with the appearance of Dallas. So ready for more of this series.

In book four of the Steel MC Montana Charter: Bryan “Baldy” Allen doesn’t have the same pedigree as the other founders of the Steel MC Montana Charter. He was named Vice President because of his friendship with Red, the Prez, leaving a part of him feeling as if he’s constantly playing catch-up with the former soldiers.

Weakened by cancer as a child, Baldy gutted out most of his life just to survive. Now thriving as the mechanic for, not only the Steels but those around Turnabout Creek, he finally sees a life ahead of him—there’s only one thing missing—his Lil’ Bit.

Kristy Coe survived a vicious attack that took more than her body—it stole any chance of a future with children. Like hearing the voices of her attackers when there is silence isn’t enough punishment.

Practically a shut-in until Baldy, a man who’d been there after the assault, offers her an opportunity of a job at the garage. Knowing Baldy would never allow anyone to hurt her, she’s able to run the gas pumps and check out customers daily with the security of him being less than a few steps away. Not to mention the yearning she has for the man she has watched from afar.

Scarred inside and out—feeling less than those around them—can Baldy and Lil’ Bit realize everything they’re missing is standing right before them? And will they have the time to figure it out since the Steel MC Montana Charter knows how to make enemies? Enemies that refuse to go away quietly.

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I purchased the audio book and eBook combo from amazon.

This series has made me love the MC book world again.  Kat Maxwell did a great job pulling me into this story. I had a hard time pushing the pause button.

This book is about Baldy aka Bryan Allen the VP of Steel MC Montana Charter and Kristy Coe, Cass sister.  Both Kristy and Bald had their own past they have to survive through.  Baldly survived cancer as a child and Kristy survived being brutally rape.  Kristy does not get out a lot and is afraid of people.  Baldy runs the gas station in town and has Kristy, or as he calls her Lil’ Bit, working there.

I love Baldy he is so patient with Lil’ Bit and helped her come out of her shell. She is able to be around people and slowly getting back some of her normal by working for Baldy. These two can only fight their feelings for so long. Baldy does not want to cross his brother Cass and Lil’ Bit knows Baldy would never what her since she is so broken.  Sometimes you have fight for what you love and want no matter what.

This is one of my favorites in this series.  We get to see Lil’ Bit grow and see how strong she really is.  There are not many that can overcome what she did and be a stronger person because of it.  She is also able to show Baldy and others what an amazing mechanic she is. My favorite guy is Hack but Baldy is right up there with him.  I so cannot wait to read more of this series.

In book three of Steel MC Montana Charter: Formerly a Navy SEAL, Thomas Creek was used to being single and free. He earned the nickname “Hack” due to his mad computer skills when he joined the Steel MC Montana Charter. Being part of the club allows him the freedom to ride fast and free on his motorcycle, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hannah Ence grew up as one of many daughters of a prophet, now being forced into a plural marriage by her father. Posting on the dark web, she prayed for help in escaping her fate. She wasn’t asking for much—a future beyond that of a wife to a man who had a half dozen already.

Steel Montana, though they pledged to be part of a domestic abuse underground, was still working toward building their club. Alerted by Hack of Hannah’s plight, they chose to answer her call. They just didn’t know how important Hannah would be to the club until after she was rescued.

With a rival MC actively attacking the Steels, and Hannah’s sheltered upbringing, Hack worries about the raven-haired angel he saved. Is Hannah strong enough to become a part of his life? Or is her draw to him fleeting, brought on by the fact he makes her feel safe? Because for him, she has become so much more than a job.

I think I found my steel MC mountain charter guy. Yes that’s right I want Hack.

Hannah is 18 and in a religious cult. When she reaches out for help, she is about to be married off to her uncle who is old enough to be her grandfather. Hack sees Hannah’s post for help on the internet and he is determined to save her from this marriage and life.

Hannah and Hack live drastically different lives. Hannah is the pure religious girl and Hack is the biker and well his name says the rest. Somehow these two mesh together.

The steels are amazing people not only the guys but the females behind them. These ladies are strong and all have their own stories but the way they accept, support and encourage Hannah is heartwarming. They all encourage her to do what she wants not what she thinks is expected of her. Hannah has only known do what you’re told and no thinking for yourself. Now she is out and the world has opened up to her anything is possible.

Hack is my favorite so far Hannah even has a place in my heart I love this series and I cannot wait to read Lil’ Bit and Baldy.

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I purchased the audio book and eBook combo from amazon.

These audio books are pulling me in and I cannot put this series down. Cat Maxwell did an amazing job these MC men and their women are so addicting.

Amelia was with Roger who was the provider and expected Amelia to know what he wanted when he wanted it. If she didn’t live up to his unsaid expectations, he would beat his expectations into her even tossed her downstairs. Amelia finds herself in the hospital almost losing her babies. When the cavalry arrived to help her get away from Roger.

Cass was sent to retrieve Amelia as a part of an underground railroad system to help women out of bad and deadly situations. cast finds he is drawn to this beautiful pregnant woman. He wants nothing more than to provide his Lil’ mama and her babies. Will Lil Mama decide to stay with the MC or will she continue her journey to gain freedom from violence for her and her babies. Amelia meets Cass sister Christy who has demons of her own. I enjoyed seeing this relationship grow as much as I did the one with Lil Mama and Cass.

Cass and Lil Mama’s relationship is slow but so good. But Cass has to show little mama he is capable of a long-term relationship and can be a good dad to her babies. This series is turning into a favorite. Red and roadkill was good and I enjoyed Cass and Lil Mama but next up is hack. Oh man he captured my attention and do believe he will be my new BBF.
