#WOTR26 #Comedy – The Last Single Girl by Bria Quinlan

Get a date for the big gala in four weeks when I thought I could go solo? Challenge, accepted.

Now to find a hot, interesting guy who will dress up for a gala. Last minute. Who doesn’t already have plans on the busiest date night of the year.

But, so far the best part of the search for a great date has been the cute café I found and the geeky-hot owner who keeps rescuing me from these crazy eLove.com dates.

This should be easy-peasy. The internet is the home of all your hopes and needs, right?

Spoiler Alert: it isn’t.

Between the bromance date and the crazed single dad who needs to hire a nanny and housekeeper, not get a date, I’m running out of options.

If only a certain cutey didn’t have a phone call with “sweetheart” every day.

The weirder things get, the more I think just going solo is very I Am Woman, blah blah blah. Forget about the fact that my heart keeps bringing me back to a certain café even when I don’t need to be there…I mean, my heart doesn’t always get what it wants, does it?

The Last Single Girl by Bria Quinlan
I purchased this audiobook.
I have read a few really heavy and dark books lately. I needed something fun and light hearted. I needed something sweet and fun. I also needed something to spend my audio credit on….hence this book.
Guys, this book was everything I needed. It most definitely took me out of the dark stuff I have been reading into a fun and adorable happy story.
Sarah is in need of a date. Sarah is pushed into online dating due to a “friend” who makes she feel less then because she doesn’t have a boyfriend. The dates are an absolutely horror show to say in the least. She is meeting her dates at a coffee shop when she befriends the shop owner. Slowly they build a friendship when Sarah realizes, Holy crap I love John!
The story was adorable and sweet and I will be grabbing the 2nd one asap. The story was just sweet and funny and everything you need at times.

RWA RITA award finalist and USA Today Best Seller Bria Quinlan writes Diet-Coke-Snort-Worthy Rom Coms about what it’s like to be a girl and deal with crap and still look for love. #WOTR26 #Audio #Romcom – Text2Lovers by JD Hollyfield and K Webster

It’s the start of nothing good.
I fired off a storm of raunchy text messages…to the wrong number.
And he replied.
Him: Show me a picture.
Him: Tell me your name.
Why does the lure of anonymity have me craving to indulge a stranger?

It’s the start of everything right.
I received a slew of text messages…when everything in my life was wrong.
And she made me laugh again.
Her: You’re probably a creeper.
Her: Possibly a stalker.
Why do I have the overwhelming need to find this stranger who saved me and make her mine?

Him: Take a chance with me.
Her: This is crazy.
Him: I need to see you.
Her: What are we doing?
Him: We’re about to find out.

Her: PHOTO ATTACHED
Him: PHOTO ATTACHED

I purchased this book.

I met JD Hollyfield at a book event and thought she was adorable. I knew she has audio books and I had credits so here we are!! I grabbed this book based solely on the premise of texting the wrong number. I mean brilliant is todays society who hasn’t texted the wrong person once or twice.

Ram is a hilarious stalker….LOL I mean he is pretty in to Dani from jump and when they actually see face to face he was 100 in all the way. Dani texted Ram accidently when she was drunk texting her ex boyfriend. The two start to daily chat but Dani gets in her head about the WHAT IF. Ram is not going to stop from meeting this girl who has become his everything.

I loved the story and how they met was amazing. The chemistry between the two was great but Andi and Roman have them beat hands down. LOL I was so captivated by the story I couldn’t stop and was super sad when it ended until that prologue dropped and I was in a fit of giggles. Another credit gone to see what happens with Andi and Roman.

#Audio #MaskedMan – Accidental Abduction: Masked Men of Sage Springs, Book 1 by E.L. Koslo

Hoodwinking Hudson
The crush I have on my best friend’s brother Hudson likely borders on being unhealthy. But when he dons a mask at a Halloween party and suddenly notices me, I’m not going to argue. Especially when he goes from my grumpy boss to the growling dominant man of my wildest fantasies.

Hijacking (C)harley
My pseudo ex-girlfriend (sort of) breaks up with me days before Halloween, citing my reliable nature as boring and vanilla. Tired of playing it safe, I decide to fulfill her fantasy of being kidnapped by a masked man. The only problem is…

I end up abducting the wrong feisty comic book villainess.

Accidental Abduction is a spooky, interconnected stand-alone short novel with a grumpy, filthy mouthed cinnamon roll and his little sister’s feisty best friend.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I met this author at an event and grabbed an audio code for this book.  I bought it based on the cover and title.  Masked man and an accidental abduction??  Yes, sounds great.

This book’s narration was HAWT.  Lawd, these narrators did an amazing job.  Hudson’s voice when he is masked was *fans self* all a girl wants to hear.  LOL

Hudson has a horrible girlfriend who dumps him/wants a Ross/Rachel style break.  He is devastated and makes a plan to kidnap her in a fun way to give her the excitement she says she needs/lost.

Charley has always lusted after her best friend’s brother, but has respected that he is in a relationship.  When he finds out he is single, she is thinking of a plan to make him hers when he takes her…. and then she realized he didn’t know who she was.

I loved this book and all that Charley and Hudson go through.  I am not grabbing Reid and Hazel’s book because I need to see the Playboy get tamed by the virgin.

Find the funny in your life.

That’s what EL Koslo strives to do in her life every day. She spent her youth with her nose in a book, often conjuring up storylines in a composition notebook she hid under her mattress. Her love of writing continued on through high school as she served on the school paper and wrote poetry for the literary magazine.

At University, she studied Art and Art History where she met her own prince charming after kissing a few frogs, of course.

Her love of reading and writing have been a constant in her life with her nose always buried in a book, tablet, or computer—both writing and reading.

She resides in the Midwest United States with her husband and four rambunctious children. Her days are filled with driving kids to school, activities, and sports; frequently squeezing writing time in while waiting in the carpool line.

Koslo’s characters are often developed while running on the treadmill at the gym, and she has a DVR full of Hallmark movies.

Her debut novel, Foreplay on Words, combines her love of steamy romance, awkward but loveable leading males, and headstrong heroines with a dash of humor and a little bit of kink.

#review #truecrime #audiobook Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony by Jeff Ashton and Lisa Pulitzer, narrated by Jeff Ashton

Filled with explosive new information, this is the definitive inside story of the case that captivated the nation and the verdict that no one saw coming

It was the trial that stunned America, the verdict that shocked us all. On July 5, 2011, nearly three years after her initial arrest, Casey Anthony walked away, virtually scot-free, from one of the most sensational murder trials of all time. She’d been accused of killing her daughter, Caylee, but the trial only left behind more questions: Was she actually innocent? What really happened to Caylee? Was this what justice really looked like?

In Imperfect Justice, prosecutor Jeff Ashton, one of the principal players in the case’s drama, sheds light on those questions and much more, telling the behind-the-scenes story of the investigation, the trial, and the now-infamous verdict. Providing an inside account of the case, Ashton, a career prosecutor for the state of Florida, goes where the press and pundits have only speculated, detailing what really happened during the investigation, showing how the prosecution built their case, and explaining how a woman so shrouded in suspicion was proclaimed innocent.

Moving beyond the simple explanations, Ashton offers an in-depth look at the complex figure of Casey Anthony, a woman whose lies he spent three years trying to understand. And yet this focus on Casey came with its own risks; here he details how this widespread fixation on Casey—both in the media and in the trial—may have undermined the case itself. As everyone got caught up in the quest to understand the supposed villain, somehow the victim, Caylee, was all but forgotten—not just to the public, but more important, to the jury.

Complete with never-before-revealed information about the case and the accused, Ashton examines what the prosecution got right, what they got wrong, and why he remains completely convinced of Casey Anthony’s guilt.

i bought this audiobook and here is my honest review

from the man who was on the case. getting an inside look at the behind the scenes of the Casey Anthony trial. follow Jeff Ashton as he gets picked to be on the case for the prosecution team and trying to get justice for Caylee Marie. all the lies, stories and poor me, no matter how many times you listen or watch this case the lies are still shocking, and the not guilty verdict is still one that the world will never understand. Caylee Marie never got to grow up and have a childhood because of the horrible things that happened to her.

Jeff Ashton recently retired from a thirty-year career as a prosecutor in Orlando, Florida. He is the most experienced homicide prosecutor in the history of Orange County and a veteran of more than seventy successful homicide prosecutions. He lives in Florida.

Lisa Pulitzer is a former correspondent for the New York Times andcoauthor of more than a dozen nonfiction titles, including the New York Times bestsellers Stolen Innocence, Imperfect Justice, and Mob Daughter.

#Review – Claimed by the Outlaw: A Grumpy-Sunshine Primal Motorcycle Club Romance (Broken Halos Motorcycle Club Book 1) by: Rica Lane

Claimed by the Outlaw by Rica Lane

He’s a scarred ex-soldier.

I’m the city girl he found freezing in the mountain.

He carried me to his bed and told me he’s never letting go.

I thought owning a cabin meant freedom. I didn’t realize it meant staking a claim on Gunnar’s land—and on Oliver himself.

A mountain of muscle and ink, he speaks in growls and lives for the hunt. When he found me lost in a blizzard, he saved me from death… then made it clear: I belong to him now.

And God help anyone who dares cross the line.

He finds me in a blizzard, drags me to safety, then tells me he owns me. No romance, no patience—only possession.

He’ll fix my porch with jagged spikes. He’ll mark my neck so his brothers know I’m taken.

He’s the Vanguard: battle-ready, relentless, dangerous. But when it comes to me, he becomes a different kind of monster—the type who would burn the world to keep me safe.

He calls himself the wolf of the ridge. I’m the only thing he refuses to share.

This is a dirty, high-heat MC mountain man novella you can devour in two hours or less—perfect for a late-night binge, a stolen afternoon, or when you crave all the good stuff (one-bed forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine instalove) without any slow build or filler.

No cheating, no filler drama, just an obsessive MC Alpha Male that will do anything for her.

This Motorcycle Club love story is a stand-alone romance set in Rica Lane’s interconnected small town of Pine Valley, which is the perfect place to find your next book boyfriend!

review by Twinsie Melinda

Avery has never had a real home. After bouncing around in the system her entire life, she inherits a small house tucked away on a mountain and sees it as her chance to finally build something that’s hers. What she doesn’t expect is just how much work the rundown house needs or the reclusive biker living next door.

When a storm rolls in and Avery finds herself struggling at fixing up the house, Gunner reluctantly steps in to help out. From that moment on, he claims her in his own quiet but possessive way, nicknaming her Little Bird. However, Avery is anything but a fragile bird. She’s determined to fix up her house, prove she can survive on her own, and finally put down roots. Gunner might see someone to protect, but Avery refuses to be handled.

What I liked about this story is that while it has that classic protective, alpha biker vibe, it also shows Avery’s strength and determination. Gunner may be determined to keep her, but she chooses him just as fiercely.

Although we don’t see the rest of the club members, we get a feel for them when Gunner has conversations with them.  The banter adds to the story and I have to say I am intrigued to know more about them.

A few of my favorite lines:

She’s mine.
The thought doesn’t ask for permission. It just arrives, settling into the bedrock of my mind like it’s always been there. I found her. I saved her. I brought her into my perimeter.
Now I just have to figure out how to keep her safe from the one thing on this mountain that wants to devour her most.
Me.

“She’s not vulnerable. She’s mine.”
“Copy that,” Logan replies, a hint of amusement entering his voice. “Does she know that?”
“She’s learning.”
“Don’t Scar the girl off. Mom’s been dying for grandbabies, and you’re the only one of us acting like a human being lately.”

I want you safe. I want you here. I want you to never look at another man the way you look at me.

“I’m a savage who lives in the trees and sharpens knives to keep the ghosts away. But I’ll be your fortress. I’ll be the ground under your feet. Stay. Marry me.”

“I pent twenty-three years waiting for someone to fine me,” I whisper. “I thought I was disposable. A guest in everyone else’s life. But you gave me a key. You gave me a name. I’m not just a bird in a cage, Oliver. I’m the queen of your mountain. I’m yours. Solid.”
You’re my home, Avery. My heart. My soul.

Hi, I’m Rica!

I write for readers who crave short, steamy romances with undeniable chemistry. I believe in love at first sight, swoon-worthy moments, and irresistible alpha heroes who fall hard and fast.

My goal is to give you that exhilarating “butterfly” feeling and an electric escape from the real world, even if just for an hour. When I’m not weaving tales of fiery connections, I’m usually dreaming up my next possessive hero or indulging in my favorite romantic movies and sweet treats.
