“An unexpected evil brings both the MC and Military world together in this brand new series by J.M. Walker”

He refuses to fall in love.
He was born alone and he will die alone. Or, at least he thought so until now.
Vice-One is all he knows. His squad. His brothers. The men he spends every day protecting. He is empty and only one person can fill this void. This darkness.
Meanwhile, Genevieve Gold makes it clear he should stay away when she is everything he craves.

She is lost.
Her heart has been ripped out; stomped on…crushed into tiny pieces, leaving only a gaping hole behind.
King’s Harlots is all she has. Her club. Her sisters. Her life. But something is missing until he shows up.
Angel Rodriguez is everything she hates but everything she needs.

Putting differences aside, they will work together to bring down a malevolent force threatening to rip them apart…

Twinsie Deb’s Review

Grit by J.M. Walker
Angel & Jay
MC & MILITARY – PERFECT
4.5 STARS

This is a story full of emotion, angst, and of course tons of grit. There are multiple stories going on with one common denominator, find out who’s taking the girls! It has a plethora of suspense, a surplus of humor, and ample sex appeal.

Angel is a Vice-One team leader and if he’s not on an assignment with his “brothers”, you can find him with his construction company helping to repair the King’s Harlot’s MC building. He’s all alpha, he’s dark and domineering, and he’s after Jay. Lucky girl! I found him easy to love right away. He’s a good guy with a huge heart. It’s just took the right girl to open it up.

Jay (Genevieve) is the president of King’s Harlots all woman Motorcycle Club. Wow, incredibly impressive. I liked her, but thought she could have been a smidge more solid. Don’t get me wrong, I think she was perfect in most everything, I just wish she would have swore more, or punched someone or something. I guess I’m a dork, but I just love those crazy fighter types! She’s dealing with a mountain a shit. Her missing sister, disappearing girls, and attacks on her MC. Now, add a holy hotness Military man and her sanity just went out the window.

The supporting characters cast isn’t too big. Those that bare mentioning would be Max and Dale. I found Max to be a pretty excellent friend. She seems to be dealing with some shit of her own (*cough, Dale) and could use her own book (eh em, JM). Dale on the other hand, he’s kind of a dick, but a dick you want to know more about… I suppose he could make a cameo in Max’s book….lol!

So to wrap this up. The storyline is excellent… MC and Military… great combo! The pacing is good, the dialogue flows, and the tension leading up to the climax was just right. Can’t wait to see the detonation that will be Max vs. Dale.

about the author

image

Courtney’s love for writing dates back to short stories on a word processor (What?? Word processor with floppy disks?). Oh yes, she literally had a card filing case full of floppy disks. Now she continues her writing (she upgraded to a laptop) while living in Southern Ohio with her husband and son.

Although Courtney has always lived in Ohio, sometimes closer to the Ohio River and sometimes further away, she dreams of the mountain ranges out west and the sandy Florida beaches. She married the man of her dreams and had a beautiful blond haired blue eyed boy. Before she sought publication for her first book The Sixth Domicile: Book One of the Domicile Series, Courtney worked as a social worker in a mental health agency where she counseled and provided therapy. After she left full time work, she taught social sciences at a local university and began a photography business. The “extra” time gave her the ability to focus on writing again.

Courtney’s background in social work fuels the grit in her stories. When Courtney isn’t writing her next book, you can find her doing homework (drag) and sipping flavored coffee, reading young adult and new adult books (because social work text books are only so interesting), or daydreaming about all the future beach houses she intends to buy.

Love RestoredAbout LOVE RESTORED

In the first of a Montgomery Ink spin-off series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan, a broken man uncovers the truth of what it means to take a second chance with the most unexpected woman…

Graham Gallagher has seen it all. And when tragedy struck, lost it all. He’s been the backbone of his brothers, the one they all rely on in their lives and business. And when it comes to falling in love and creating a life, he knows what it’s like to have it all and watch it crumble. He’s done with looking for another person to warm his bed, but apparently he didn’t learn his lesson because the new piercer at Montgomery Ink tempts him like no other.

Blake Brennen may have been born a trust fund baby, but she’s created a whole new life for herself in the world of ink, piercings, and freedom. Only the ties she’d thought she’d cut long ago aren’t as severed as she’d believed. When she finds Graham constantly in her path, she knows from first glance that he’s the wrong kind of guy for her. Get a sneak peek at LOVE RESTORED:

Graham Gallagher had never craved a cigarette as much as he did just then. It didn’t matter that he’d quit smoking over fifteen years ago cold turkey and hadn’t picked one up since then. He just wanted a damn smoke.

Scratch that.

He wanted a fucking cigarette, a beer, and a willing woman underneath him as he fucked her until they were both spent.

And not necessarily in that order.

Not that he’d get any of that any time soon. Between this new job, the old one they hadn’t fully completed yet, and the rest of the crap in his life, he wasn’t sure he’d even have time for a beer.

And considering it had been a long six months since he’d had a woman under him, he was pretty sure he wouldn’t be getting laid any time soon. Him and his right hand had a perfectly nice relationship for now and when he got downright dangerous, he got to know his left.

Jesus, he needed coffee or something at this point if he was thinking about how his left hand would be something different in his life.

He ran a hand through his dark hair and grimaced as he caught some tangles as he pulled it out of the rubber band. He wasn’t sure he’d brushed it that morning, instead just throwing it up in a tie at the back of his head as soon as he’d gotten out of the shower. At least he’d showered, he thought. Considering he’d slept for shit the night before, a shower after sweat-slick dreams had been the only recourse. He quickly ran his hand through it a few more times, getting out most of the rat’s nest and pulled it back up before the owner of their new project showed up and called him a heathen.

Graham sighed, sliding his hand over his beard to straighten it out. Since it had grown past his chin and almost touched his chest if he lowered his head just right, he already looked the part of a heathen to some. Add in the ink covering his body and the piercings only those in his bed could see, he didn’t fit the ideal image of a business man that someone of this caliber would want to work with.

And that was just find with him.

#REVIEW Ink Enduring (Montgomery Ink 5) by Carrie Ann Ryan #MONTGOMERYINK

image

image

synopsis

The Montgomery Ink series continues with a forbidden love between three friends and a past that they can’t escape.

Jake Gallagher knew from the moment he saw Maya that she was the one for him—it had the same breath-taking intensity as when he’d first set eyes on Border. Only life never turns out the way one plans, and now he’s falling for someone else…or at least he thinks he is.

Maya Montgomery never should have looked past the friendship she already had. Now that she has, she can’t stop thinking about Jake and what he means to her. When a mysterious stranger from Jake’s past shows up at their door, she’s forced to admit that if she doesn’t take the risk of a lifetime, she’ll regret it for the rest of her days.

Border Gentry walked away without a second glance once because of what could happen if he let go, but now he’s back and ready to see what he’s missed. He’s been on the road a long time and has seen things no man should ever see, yet once he rediscovers the broody Jake and meets the inked and fierce Maya, they’re like a balm to his soul and he realizes what path his future should take.

It will take more than sizzling chemistry and a heat that never dies for the three of them to overcome their pasts. And when someone from the outside wants to stand in their way, it’s not only their hearts on the line…but also their lives.

kristis review

Received a copy of this book for my honest review

I have been waiting for Maya’s book forever it seems and I know I say this with every Montgomery Ink book, but I can’t help it they are that good!!!
I have loved Maya’s character since she was first introduced, take charge women who does what she loves and doesn’t take crap from anyone, what’s not to love. However I’ve also been waiting for this strong woman to show her vulnerable side and I’ve finally got it. Seeing her unsure and angsty is great, it shows that this superwoman is human too.
With Maya we’ve also seen her Best Friend Jake around. Hot, artistic, inked and bearded. Hmmm, soooo yummy!! He’s been by Maya’s side through thick and thin. The adopted Gallagher in the Montgomery family.
Now we are introduced to Border. Holy heck Border!! Big, protective, Border. He left town when he and Jake were young, even though they loved each other, because he thought he was protecting him. Now he’s back for Jake and he wants to know all about Maya!!
I feel so bad for Jake’s girl friend Holly, she was introduced in the last book, because she realizes that though she wants to love Jake they don’t belong together because Jake loves Maya and even though she hasn’t said or even shown it she loves him too. Holly needs a Montgomery or a Gallagher of her own!! Hint, hint!!
I love when Ryan writes about a triad, she does it so beautifully. You can really see the three separate couples becoming one. Jake and Maya, Jake and Border, and finally Border and Maya. They all have to find their way around the new dynamic of what each of their relationships are and also become one. They do it so well, not by hot heavy bedroom action, hello that helps, but by taking it day by day.
Jake realizing he’s not the brother looking in from the outside with his family is great and HELLO Gallagher Brothers, I can not wait to read more of each of you!!
Maya and Jake finally getting together after all these years makes all their friends say “About time!” Border coming in doesn’t take anything away from Maya and Jake story, it’s like he’s is what was missing; to quote Maya “He completes us”.
End in the the triad learns that for a future together they have to do more communicating and that is what any relationship needs to be able to go the distance.
I know I said it at beginning of this review but I’m going to say it again, I can not wait for Alex’s book!!
Oh, and more of those yummy Gallagher brothers!!!

TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW

Soulless by T.M. Frazier
Bear & Thia
THIS STORY IS STILL KILLING, BUT EASING UP A BIT FOR NOW
5 STARS

So, guess what? This book fucking rocked! That’s what! So much is going on. So many new things learned about both our lead characters and supporting ones for that matter. Emotions up the waazoo, love and hate flowing side by side, and shit that’ll make you go hmmmm!

Bear is such a dick, but man I can’t help but love that jerkface! He goes above and beyond where his friends and especially Ti are concerned, but holy freaking hell, does he really have to scare the ever-loving shit outta me in the process? He’s been dealt a bad hand in most everything he does, but who’s to say what game is being played? Maybe he does have a good hand after all. He makes the most of all the bad situations he’s in. He loves fiercely and he’s brutally honest to a fault.

Ti is unexpectedly more equipped to deal with the life she’s been given. The life she hopes to lead with Bear. She’s hilarious, she’s strong, and she’s more than ready to get on with killing if that’s what needs being done. She’s meets some interesting people on her journey and takes them in stride, but never forgets who she is, where she came from, or where she’s headed. I love this little pink headed monkey!

The supporting character cast is fairly large. Let’s see, we have King, Ray, and their crazy kids. I love knowing that King was always there every step of the way with Bear. Grace was wonderful as always. I wouldn’t mind having her for my “adopted” Momma any day. Now this Rage chick, holy hell! I need more of her. I need more quirkiness and more of her oddball ways. I love that tiny psycho germaphobe. Barbarian Barbie! My fave fer sure.

So, if you picked this up expecting hearts and flowers, then you’ll be truly let down, unless you like bloody hearts and wilted flowers… lol. I myself found it so persuasive that I could not put it down. I hung on every word and made Bear and Ti’s life my main concern for a short time. The pacing is superb and the storyline outstanding. The tension created throughout this tale was just right, but that climax, jaysus fekking christ TM, you trying to kill me? Loved it!

#REVIEW – Fallen Fourth Down (Fallen Crest Series, Book 4) by Tijan

41xw1X6j3SL._SX311_BO1,204,203,200_

My mother tried to destroy me. She doesn’t exist to me anymore and my father, the one who raised me and the biological one, are both works in progress. The only two people that I can trust are Mason and Logan, and they’re the two people who I could lose. It won’t happen. I won’t let it. No matter the truth, no matter who loves me, I won’t let anything or anyone come between us.
They’re my world. They’re my life.
They’re my family.

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

Man oh man. I swear Tijan will have a permanent hold on my heart for the rest of my life. I am so in love with these characters I feel like they are a part of me. I want to hold them and comfort them. I want to be the big sister and the family they never had. Gah! I just love them oh so much. Okay, review time. Enough gushing.

Sam…oh Samantha. I swear this heroine, although so young, has a firm grip on my soul. Okay, back to gushing. Sam is strong and Mason? Logan? Geesh. These three together can rule the freaking world!

At the end of book three, there is a BIG secret that gets revealed. Well obviously we the reader know the secret cause we just know Logan and how he is. Sam keeps said secret to herself all through book 4 and man, my heart. At the end of this book, I tried reading faster so I could find out what happened.

So many issues for such young people. I love these characters. I can’t get enough of them. If Tijan decided to write them for the rest of her career, I would be a very happy reader.

#NewRelease #Review – Halfway Hunted (Halfway Witchy Series #3) by Terry Maggert

Oh my stars! Nothing halfway about this series! The Halfway Witchy series is one of a kind!

As if Carlie’s life isn’t already crazy enough there are strange happenings occuring in Halfway. And guess what? Carlie is here to protect, no matter the cost. Exit is a man who has been under an ancient curse who has recently woken up. Carlie and Gran are trying to help Exit, but Exit is not the only newcomer to Halfway. Warlocks and hunters are in the area and it’s unacceptable. We follow Carlie and how she is handling the fact that Wulfric is no longer hers but we also follow Exit and learn of his life and curse. It’s perfect for the book and Exit is a great charater to continue in this story. Crazy situations and emotions can cause people to do some incredible and insane things for the people we care about…and for ourselves. And this fits Carlie to a T.

“I did my best to look friendly and incapable of turning someone into a toad. Flowers were good. Toads, not so much. I probably could if I had time to write the spell, but that wasn’t the point, perception being reality and all that.”

“Gran and I are more than wardens and less than saints.”

“I wanted blood, but we needed justice. The two were diverging paths for me, and the only question was whether or not I could find the strength to hold back when the moment of truth came. As I began to walk deeper into the woods, I had no answers, only hope.”

***Carlie’s and Exit’s journey is a wild ride and is nothing short of exciting. Loving this series and can’t wait for more!***

kellys review

Hilarious, light hearted and fun lovingly cute! Maggie is moving on! She has another man that is showing interest in her and she is trying her best to hate John. No matter how hard Murphy’s law tries to take her down, John is always her saving grace….well, sorta. He is the man that Maggie loves to hate. They are both “finding themselves” with a hilarious love/hate relationship. It is fast paced and incredibily witty. No matter what the two of them do they are drawn to each other and are a huge part of each other’s life.

“That was one perk of living alone; I could wear whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. As long as my blinds were closed, I could prance around naked, and no one could complain. Though, I probably shouldn’t prance as it would likely lead to some sort of mortal head wound. Maybe a light gallop? A skip? Either way, I could be naked.”

“I wasn’t sure when the dynamic had shifted between us. In the span of two days, John had taken every pre-conceived and hard-earned notion I had about him, tossed it in a blender, and poured out a blurred mess of indiscernible chaos. I had no idea what to do with the kinder, more open John. So what if I’d been trying to tear down that stupidly reinforced wall of his, I didn’t expect it to ever work. Now that it had, I wasn’t sure what to do with the rubble, let alone what lay beneath.”

I am all about the funny and cute and this is exactly what this is. Love the Maggie Moore series and can’t wait to see what other shenanigans comes her way!

The Sixth Domicile (The Domicile Series) by Courtney Ruggles

synopsis

In a future ravaged by greed and war, The Domicile has emerged. A new civilization governed by clandestine Elders where citizens are united by white masks and uniform identities. To remove one’s mask, to go outside the Domicile, to show defiance, means being sent to the Meurtre, a horrifying death sentence.

Q437B doesn’t follow the rules. She craves sunlight, dares to love her childhood friend B116A, and – the most forbidden of all – has seen the true face of her beloved beneath the mask.

But when Q becomes an Adulte, The Domicile threatens to take away everything that makes her happy. She is forced to marry an abusive soldier who demands she conform. Whispers spread about the unconventional lessons she teaches her new students. And when Q openly disobeys the Elders, the people become restless, questioning the truth of the world in the wake of such defiance.

Rumblings of discontent stir as others begin to follow the path toward their freedom. The Revolution has begun, and Q is the spark that ignited the flames.

kristis review

Received a copy for a honest review

A post apocalyptic world, we all have our own ideas on it. Whether it be zombies over running the earth or some other group that holds the power each is its own unique take, as is the case with this series. There are ten Domiciles where people live now that the Earth is a dried and barren wasteland, at least that’s what the Elders want the people to think. The people that live in the Domicile have no names, just a id number. No skin is to be shown, including of the face so elaborate mask are worn. Everyone wears the same clothing, black tops and bottoms and gloves. The Elders decide everything for everyone, what they will be or their “life path” as it is called as well as who will marry who. Q437B and B116A ,or “Q” and “B” as they call each other, have been friends since they were children. A friendship that was not stopped but frowned upon since they were to be married to others when they grew. B knows the truth of the world outside the Domicile, that it isn’t a dry and barren place but a lovely lush place, and shares this truth with Q by taking her outside the Domicile when his job as a Maitre of the Keys takes him out. Both Q and B fall in love with each other and doesn’t want to marry the partner that the Elders have picked for them but the know it’s certain death to go as gains them so they go through with the Ripening Ceremony. Q is not only unhappy with who she is mated to but learns that they have been put together so that he can make her conform to the Elders rules, as they have been watching her and B for a long time. What happens next is something that the Elders did not expect though, her husband abuses her openly trying to get her to obey and she still remains true to herself and seeing this gets others to want to be more like her, question the why of it all. I think that this is what happens after a while to a group that has absolute power, someone comes along and questions WHY. Q, being raised by her grandmother who was born before the time of the Domiciles and having lived through revolution, knows more about the before times than what is taught by the Elders and its this information as well as knowing what the Earth looks like outside that makes her question so much. It is the love that Q and B have for each other that sparks a change, it is also that spark that makes the Elders want her dead. I liken this story to V for Vendetta, the Divergent series, or even the Hunger Games series, someone strong standing up for what THEY believe and causing the world around them to question everything that they know. Having never read anything by a this author before I don’t really know her writing style, but I do know this. Any book that sucks you in, makes you feel, and makes you think is a good book. I can’t wait to see what happens to Q and B and to know if things are the same or different in the other Domiciles.

about-the-author

Courtney’s love for writing started pretty much when she learned to read, which her mother would tell you was a feat in itself back when she was in the first grade. Once she aced those flashcards with vocabulary words, Courtney’s writing took off. And her love with it. In school, she was always writing short stories on a word processor (What?? Word processor with floppy disks?). Oh yes, she literally had a card filing case full of floppy disks.
Now getting her Doctorate in social work, she’s used this education to help her writing some of the gritty issues entwined in her stories. When Courtney isn’t writing her next book while drinking coffee, you can find her doing homework (drag) with chocolate chip flavored coffee, reading series of books (because school books are only so interesting) while drinking pumpkin flavored coffee, playing with her little boy, or daydreaming of future beach houses while drinking some other scrumptious flavor of coffee.

I fell in love with her when I was seventeen.
She brought me to my knees when I was twenty.
I loved her against reason.
I loved her against hope.

TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW

Undo Me by M. Robinson
Dylan & Aubrey
THE GOOD OL’ BOYS JUST GOT EVEN BETTER!
5 Heart Wrenching Stars

Well peeps, this book is not what I thought it would be. It’s not wrapped up in a pretty little love story. Nope! It’s one of the most emotional stories I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Not many authors can keep me up till 2AM reading because I CAN’T put the book down. In fact there’s only a handful for me. Welcome to the club Ms. Robinson. You have done me in with this story. It’s not anything like the first two books in this series, not even close! It gave me heart palpitations… going back and forth between broken heart and mended heart! I. Fucking. Loved. It.

Dylan, our main lead character was all kinds of alpha, but not in the way you’d think he’d be. Even while he’s fucking his way through most of Oak Island, he seems to still be able to maintain this sort of southern charm. Most days the ladies fall at his feet and leave uttering the word “asshole,” on their way out, but he’s so smooth that you can’t help but laugh at him and be one of those followers. The transition from young man to man was exhilarating to see. His life was not an easy one and most of the time my heart was breaking for him, but somehow he manages to pull through it with a few bumps and bruises. From his beautiful hair and body to his witty charm and that sexy allure, I was hooked from word one.

Aubrey, well… Aubrey made me want to throw my kindle across the room on multiple occasions. She’s one character I’ll forever have a love/hate relationship with fer sure. I have to admit I did like her rough demeanor where Dylan was concerned in the beginning. It was refreshing to see a girl who DIDN’T fall at his feet and beg him to fuck her. Although that same rough demeanor would be her undoing later on in life. She did so many things wrong that it killed me to see her transition into womanhood. Life could have been so much easier for Aubrey had she just opened up her heart just a little bit more and let Dylan or anyone else in to help her through some serious shit. I think she would have been more at peace with herself and life.

The supporting character cast is the usual… Lucas and Alex. Jacob and Lily. and our one and only fuck up Austin. Can’t wait to see what Ms. Robinson has in store for that one. The only other supporting character that I found remotely important was Aubrey’s Mother. The woman who couldn’t bring herself to get engaged in her daughter’s life. I blame her for most of Aubrey’s decisions. There is a villain in the story actually, but they bare no mention at this time. You’ll find out soon enough who it is and hate them just as much as I do. Good luck!

So, if I had to say which one of the Good Ol’ Boys book I liked the best, it would be this one by far. It was effortless to read and the pacing was perfect and right on. The dialogue flowed with efficiency and the storyline was superb. The entire book is full from cover to cover with massive amounts of tension and apprehension that when you do finally reach the climax you’re so fucking exhausted that you will hardly be able to breathe. Bravo Ms. Robinson, you rocked this!

Check out the rest of the Good ‘Ol Boys…
