Melinda's Review

I listened to this on audio. The narrators were wonderful. I loved the way Honey Scarlett read all of Elena parts and Leeroy Will read all of Ashton’s parts no matter where they fell in the story. I was drawn in by this story and had a hard time turning it off at times.

Elena spends her days trying to please her husband. She never knows what kind mood he is going to be in and what type of punishment she will get. Elena things she is going on a date with her husband as a reward but soon finds out she is being traded to a stranger that her husband owes money to so it will clear a portion of his debt.

Ashton is determined to show Elena that she is so much better than she believes she is. He gives her opportunity to make her decisions and let her real self out. She is learning that she can open up and be herself.

This was dark at times with spousal abuse and with Ashton’s job but I so enjoyed the journey Elena went on to see her open up and grow was phenomenal. To watch Ashton help her was heartwarming. I so enjoyed Meeting Ashton’s family his dad, mom and his brother Miller. I cannot wait to see Miller find a woman that will turn his world inside out. He cracked me up when he would torment Ashton. I cannot wait to see him on the other side of that torment because I can so see Ashton dealing out payback.
