Holy hay bales!!!! You rocked again Pam. Lorne and Raina’s story is beautifully told. The heartaches both suffered at the hands of others and their shear personal strengths to survive is told so well that you can feel the heartache they each felt. They are so much alike yet different. Raina’s Native American heritage gives her the insight to see and hear Lorne and his pain. She knows he is a good man and loved hard by Jake, Conor, and Jarret. She uses her knowledge to slowly bring Lorne to life and back to living the life he deserves. Lorne has shut himself off and down. That’s the only way he could survive in prison. He is finally released from prison his sentence to find Raina in his bed. Lorne is torn by the sight of abused Raina in his bed. He feels the draw to her. He sees and hears Raina and her pain. The desire Lorne and Raina have to help each other overcome their painful past draws them closer together. Raina tells Lorne her story. He is fit to be tied. Lorne and Raina get their resolution and are able to put their demons to rest. Their love grows. Raina gets the family she has been missing. Lorne regains his as well – opening his heart back to them and all that was missed while imprisoned.
Lorne and Raina’s relationship is beautiful. Their connection allowed them to truly see and hear each other – without words or touch. I can’t say it enough. I absolutely LOVE your writing. Who wouldn’t love a hot, rockin’ cowboy?!!
