The rhythmic pounding of the man running for his life in between Sugar’s and Lexi’s treadmills was more than enough up-close proof that Bishop O’Kane was as physically fit as his profile said. This gym catered to professional bodybuilders but was empty with the exception of one other person and staff. It was elite and niche, and Sugar had basically used her pregnant stomach and her hormones to get them a day pass.

Not exactly Titan-level detective work, but this was more a girl’s trip than anything else… right? Her phone buzzed as she and Lexi walked lazily on either side of their unknowing target.

Lexi: What have we learned? I’m bored.

Sugar: I was bored at home. This was something to do.

She grabbed her bag from a locker and wrestled out of her exercise pants and back into leather pants, which—thank the Lord for maternity adaptation—were more comfortable.

Sugar’s screen blinked with the text.

Lexi: 10. 10. 10.

Sugar: Easy, killer. On my way.

But the text wouldn’t send. The little circle kept circling. No signal. Ugh. What the hell? She pushed out the door to find the hallway dark. A tickle of adrenaline crept up her neck, and she slowed her pace.

“Hello?” A Russian accent called into the bathroom where she had just been.

Training and instinct made Sugar drop to the floor, listening to the voice continue to call and the person go in and out of the locker rooms and whatever rooms were down the other hallway.

Her pulse picked up. She could feel the blood thumping in her neck and in her stomach, which was a change from the norm. But all in all, this was no different than creeping like a shadow on any other job. Except she didn’t know who or what she was dealing with, and she had to hide what felt like an additional few feet of her stomach from view while trying to figure out what the double deuces was happening.

She tried her cell phone again. Shoot. She got nothing but a spinning circle and a no service signal. Clearly, somewhere in the building was a cell-phone jammer, which meant this was more of a professional job than a slam-and-bam robbery.

Okay… what to do?

Slinking down the hallway, she heard no exercise equipment clinking and clanking. No men throwing heavy things. No people grunting as they lifted heavy objects for personal enjoyment. There was only the empty blare of music that, now that all was abandoned and quiet, played far too loud. Her phone continued to cycle without a signal, and Sugar’s eyes searched for signs of anyone in the building—most importantly, Lexi. And where had that searching Russian man gone? She needed a weapon. Fast.

She checked her phone again.

Nope. The hell with it. She tucked it in her back pocket. Across the open floor were hand weights. She could grab a few jump ropes or one of the calisthenics bars while she was there. But crossing the gym was too dangerous. With a view of nothing but treadmills, elliptical machines, and stair climbers, she had nothing but magazines to smack a bad dude with. Nothing deadly.

So the plan for the moment was to keep against the wall and head for the main desk. Surely there was a pair of scissors. A stapler. Hell, she could be deadly with a phone cord. All she needed was the right angle. But really, Sugar stressed about Lexi.

She crept around another corner of the main gym. No one was there.

No Lexi. No Bishop. No random meatheads. No guy with a Russian accent searching for rogue people hiding and creeping.

“What is going on?” Her pulse pounded in her neck, and confusion covered every thought. Only Emergency Exit signs illuminated the room, and the place was eerie.

Her quiet question went unanswered, and the baby took that moment to kick. “Easy, tater tot. I’ve got this.”

AWESOME set up for an intense series plot.

Jay is the President of the Kings Harlots.  It’s an All-Female MC that she started after growing up in the life with her father and sister by her side.  Jay is trying to prove that just because you don’t have the 3^rd leg *snickers* you can be a valuable MC club member. Jay is dealing with the loss of her twin sister from 7 years ago, multiple kidnapped woman in the area of the clubs, plus a strained relationship with her father from his VP aka her DB ex.  SO yeah Jay has a lot going on in her head.

Angel is over it.  He needs more then woman and booze to full fill his life.  He loves his SEAL team but he wants more.  TOO bad no one can get his attention long enough for more than one night.  He is tired from the investigations of lost woman and the sick people who are running the trafficking organization him and his team are after.

When Angel and Jay meet…instant chemistry.  Jay needs someone strong to lean on and that scared the crap outta her that Angel is that guy.  Angel needs a strong woman who can handle him being gone on missions and Jay is that woman.  I loved Angel because he goes after what he wants.  There were times I wanted to throat punch Jay because she is a self-destroyer.  She would do things just to cause drama at times and I was like “Shut your trap woman and look at that man!!”  LOL

The plot twists at the end was great.  One I surely didn’t see coming because my suspicions were at one person and boom it was another!!  I look forward to what happens between Max and Dale but also Asher and Meeka???  Maybe  Perhaps????  I hope…oh and Stone…yummy addition to the team of hotties.

What??  HUH!!  No ore books yet…uhm not acceptable.  *Starts a chants* Need more books!!

Man, Mike you are one kick a$$, patient male to push Giselle/Elle so hard to get her heart to crack open and finally SEE what she has in front of her.  You pushed her at all the right times and knew what buttons to push to make her crack each time until finally she had no choice to take the risk and fall.

Giselle…the tears that fell in this book for you…omg my heart hurt so badly for you.  My eyes were a red swollen mess when we find out what you had to endure for all those years.  We understand why you are the way you are.  Why you don’t trust.  Why you keep everyone at three arms lengths away. We understand and so to see you fall and take the leap of faith with Mike *Sigh* made my heart flutter.

This book was so heartfelt, emotional and amazing.  To see Giselle from book 1 and then SEE her growth until this book…WOW.  We can see the heart she has and see it unthaw thanks to that detective and a certain friend …..her happiness is so well deserved.

The end of the book was amazing.  I am left so happy and excited for all of the characters but I gotta admit there are so many more storied I would love to read….Ren, Geoffrey……but especially Jamie.  She needs to be given an  HEA too.

EEEP!  Rom and Sarah’s book so far is my favorite of the series!!

Rom is a broken, cold vampire who says what he wants and ya better jump higher then he originally asked you to jump. PERIOD.  He is a 645 year old vampire and he is not used to having people question his judgement…..SOOOO when he falls for a broken human imagine his surprise when he has to learn the art of compromise????  Man did Damian looove to see that!!!

Sarah has survived hell on Earth. She was held captive for weeks and will not let anyone control her again.  SOOOO when she find out she is a Moira aka Mate to a 645 year old bossy vampire Lord, yeah she is not happy with his behavior.

OMG did I crack up at these two but at the same time I fell so in love with them. They both want to be loved and have love but are scared outta their minds at LOVE!!  I loved seeing Rom really try to court Sarah but then stomp his foot like a child when she said *GASP* NO to him at things.  I loved how Sarah challenged him and yet melted for him when he showed her compassion after what she went through….hello the horse gift…SWOONING TIME!!!!

Their story was easily my favorite and I got a very big soft spot for Rom but don’t tell Damian.  He tends to get grumpy when I look at this friends “that way”.

This book was super-fast passed and we had not 1 but 2 bad guys to take care of.  But honestly seeing Rom and Sarah’s story unfold plus see more of Mike and Giselle but now to see a bad guy who turned good guy fall in love…sigh…so many awesome vampires to love and not enough time to read them all……
