I thought I was in love with my best friend. Turned out, I was in love with someone else instead.
My best friend broke my heart.
I try convincing myself that he’s who I’m meant to be with when secretly, I’m thankful he broke things off between us.
There’s someone else but he never notices me staring, hoping, longing for him.
When he finally comes around, after I make the first move, sparks explode but I have to tell myself that it’s just a one-time thing.
Especially when he’s my best friend’s father.

#twinsieforthedaycitlali #review #wotr26 #attendingauthor –The Deceptions by: Aly Beck

My name is Olivia Viotto. And five years ago, I was murdered by my three best friends. Only, they didn’t finish the job. Now, I’m back as an undercover agent, eager to tear their world apart.

Confronting my past was never on my to-do list. Neither was going undercover as a man, returning to my hometown, or unravelling the skeletons in everyone’s closet. But here I am.

Five years ago, I died.

Almost.

How’s that phrase go? What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

So, I got stronger.

From the fiery remains of tragedy, a guardian angel saved me, resuscitating and bringing me into the underbelly of a super secret government agency, where I healed my body and mind. Yet the scars of that night never faded.

For years, I trained and brought down the bad guys. One person at a time.

Now, it’s their turn.

My ex-best friends. Huxley. JJ. Mack.

The three boys I loved with all my heart who betrayed me in the worst possible way.

My mission?

Go deep undercover, posing as a new male student named Oliver. Watch my ex-best friends. Infiltrate their frat to become a member and earn their trust.

Because something fishy is happening at Greenwood University.

Murder. Mayhem. Missing people. The list is endless in a sea of snakes.

Until it all goes impossibly wrong, my identity and life are at risk every step I take, and the bad guys are closing in. I’m forced to lean on the very people I swore vengeance on.

Nothing is ever as it seems. Lies are everywhere.

But I’m here to uncover it all.

Ms. Aly Beck has reeled me in once again! I was intrigued by Espie/Liv/Olivia when she was introduced in TAS, and getting another snippet of her in SS was awesome, but where there is more revealed is DD, and we get more Malic (I am claiming him as my top favorite book boyfriend! “No touchy!”)
Olivia was killed by her 3 friends/lovers 5 years ago, but was rescued and brought into a secret government agency. Now she is undergoing the biggest assignment of her career by going back to where it all happened, and having to investigate her ex-friends/lovers is bringing up a lot of grief and memories.
We get insight into the guys, and is what Olivia witnessed truly what happened? Add in 2 additional men, and we’re getting the start of an interesting relationship build. I’m hoping for a slow-burn, but I know Malic will bring his Maniac-ness and cause mayhem lol
As with all Aly Beck’s works, I’m keeping my investigative notebook by my side to keep track of my theories/ideas/suspicions (My list keeps growing because I keep rereading lol). I don’t trust anyone because even Olivia wasn’t provided with all the necessary information she believes she should have.
For lovers of previous characters popping in, we get Grumpy!

#twinsieforthedayroxanna #review #wotr26 #attendingauthor #mmromance –Villains and Vigilantes by: Onley James

Trick. Treat. Take out the trash.

Welcome to the most unhinged Mulvaney party yet. The costumes are couture, the littles are under lock and key, and the ultimate villain is about to get exactly what she deserves.

What starts as a Halloween gala turns into a house-wide hunt as the Mulvaneys, Jericho’s Boys, and the men of Elite close ranks to end a monster’s reign for good. One brother takes a hit but refuses to stay down. Asa proves why psychopaths deliver the sweetest revenge. Mac and Archer demonstrate exactly what they teach at the Watch. Jericho, Atticus, Lucas, and August bond over a little creative torture. And in the heart of Aiden’s workshop, a righteous invention guarantees permanent justice.

Between traps, taunts, and vigilante vows, this anthology serves dark humor, feral family, and heat—plus bonus stories from the night before the party and an exclusive masked hook-up that lights the fuse for a future Jericho’s Boys couple. Cameos abound, couples get spooky and spicy, and the Mulvaney littles prove the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Perfect for readers who crave found family with teeth, Villains & Vigilantes delivers a cathartic, high-octane coda to a long-running evil—and a reminder that when the Mulvaneys say they’ll keep you safe, they mean it.

#twinsieforthedayroxanna #review #wotr26 #attendingauthor #mmromance –Killer Crush by: Onley James

Cade Carpenter doesn’t believe in fate—he believes in timing, precision, and clean exits. Killing people is easy. Keeping feelings out of it is even easier. When a dating app ping interrupts his latest job, he doesn’t think twice before answering. One bad date is the perfect cover for a hit.

Tris is a walking diagnosis wrapped in a pretty face and borrowed confidence. He talks too much, laughs too loud, and blurts out every intrusive thought that crosses his mind. He’s used to being “too much” for people—too awkward, too intense, too everything. So, when a gorgeous stranger actually says yes to his ridiculous question about the world’s worst date, Tris can’t help but hope, for once, that he won’t be the punchline.

But what’s supposed to be an ironic night out turns into something out of a true crime documentary when Tris stumbles upon Cade mid-kill. Now, there’s a body, a locked ship in open water, and two men with dangerously bad timing.

It was supposed to be easy. Get in, get out. But now, they’re trapped on a Titanic replica with a dead body and no place to run. Can Cade convince Tris that just because he’s a killer doesn’t mean he’s not the one?

Killer Crush is the first in a series of interconnected dark romance shorts, each featuring a new couple brought together—and blown apart—by the infamous Heartstopper app.

#twinsieforthedayroxanna #review #wotr26 #attendingauthor #mmromance –Murder & Mistletoe by: Onley James

Snow. Santa. And one not-so-silent night.

Welcome to the most chaotic Mulvaney Christmas yet. The roads are iced over, the mansion is packed with littles, and one very overdue baby has decided that now is their time to shine.

When Cricket’s water breaks in the middle of a snowstorm, she skips the ambulance and drives herself straight to the Mulvaney Mansion where her midwife is supposed to meet her. The problem? The storm has other ideas.

As family members fight the weather to make it home, everything spirals beautifully out of control. Mac and Archer are trapped in a Christmas village nightmare. Adam and Noah are up to their usual questionable-but-consensual shenanigans. Arlo and Dimitri are stranded roadside. Atticus and Jericho are stuck in a car. The core four are enjoying some rare alone time. And the littles are warm, fed, and absolutely thriving under Thomas and Aiden’s supervision.

Then the midwife doesn’t show.

What follows is a full-blown holiday free-for-all: Atticus steps in to deliver the baby, the feelings faction dances Cricket through labor, Archer teaches the kids how to gamble using cookies, and the Mulvaney household does what it does best: closes ranks and handles the chaos together.

Murder & Mistletoe delivers snowbound mayhem, feral found family, soft moments, filthy humor, and love in all its unhinged forms. Cameos abound, couples steal moments wherever they can, and the next generation proves they were absolutely raised in this madness on purpose.

Perfect for readers who like their holiday stories loud, loving, and a little unhinged, Murder & Mistletoe is a reminder that when the Mulvaneys say family comes first, they mean it—especially when there’s a baby on the way and a storm at the door.

Wingman 101: Make him fall head over heels in love.

Brad
What’s a straight guy to do when he accidentally goes on a date with his brand new gym-bro? Offer to be the best wingman ever, of course! It’s foolproof.

Joey needs a man? I’ll find him one.

He wants someone who looks, well, kind of like me? No problem!

Not into watersports? I’ve got him covered.

The issue is, going on all these dates with Joey makes me realize I want more of his time to be spent with me. I like the guy. And his smile. And the way he makes me feel like anything is possible.

Except… I can’t possibly be who Joey needs. He wants his forever person. His great big love.

And no matter how perfect the dude’s abs are or how skilled he is as a cuddle-bro, the two of us will never be more than friends. Because I’m straight.

Right?

10 Ways to Accidentally Fall in Love is a lighthearted romantic comedy with disastrous dates, more innuendo than is probably healthy, an oblivious sweetheart, the gym-dude who falls for him swiftly, and a HEA loaded with firsts. It has characters who originally appeared in Himbo (Elite 8 Studios Book 4) but is set as a standalone.

Goodreads

Brad is so blissfully unaware of his adorableness. Hes straight. Or so he thinks. But hes just so friendly that he may have inadvertently led his bro Joey on and he really didn’t mean to. Like seriously. This man just goes with the flow. He definitely lights up every room. He wouldn’t hurt a fly, let alone his new best friend.

Joey has been friend zoned! He knows he shouldn’t do this to himself but he agrees to stay friends. The more he gets to know Brad the more he wants him. But Brad is straight, right? Right! Moving on. How does he move on when the more he gets to know Brad, the more he wants to be more than just Brad’s gym bro.
Talk about a predicament.

I cannot recall ever laughing so much while reading or listening to a book. Nick did a terrific job. All the sound effects and stuff. He really brought the story to life and played the 2 men well.

#review #darkMMromance Under Your Skin by: Lee McCormick

You’re the only one who can get under my skin.

Levi

Trapped in nightmares from my past, the only comfort I find is in gifts from the man who killed my mother’s killer—presents wrapped in a body bag and delivered to the morgue for me to examine.

From the first time I saw his mark, I knew I had to keep my Killer safe, had to keep his work a secret for me and me alone. Every body is a love letter, and I’m the only one who can read them.

Jonah

When I accidentally leave evidence behind during a kill, I have to go to the morgue to rectify my mistake. I didn’t expect to find a young mortician admiring my work.

Relishing in it. Studying it.

Covering it up.

I have no idea why someone would want to hide my crimes, but I’m determined to find out. What I discover is a man named Levi—a man obsessed with the idea of who he thinks I am.

A man who threatens to change my entire world.

~~~
Under Your Skin is a dual POV dark romance set in a world where a corrupt town lets a serial killer walk free, and a young mortician is determined to make sure it stays that way. Expect high heat, intense emotions, and two men who find their own way to define what love really means.
Goodreads
Levi believes theres a killer in town leaving him little “gifts” and Levi is collecting all of them. Jonah learns about this when he goes in search of something he seems to have lost during his last kill. He finds a whole lot more than his lost thing that day. Life as Jonah knows it will never be the same.
Oh. My. Word! Jonah is kinda absolutely perfect. I know, I know hes a serial killer but that is just one part of who he is and shouldn’t cancel out all the things that make him perfect. His attentiveness and obvious instant, more than just attraction, to Levi were one of his many perfections. Jonah would question himself in his head about the things he was feeling towards Levi and it cracked me up. I would imagine it would freak out a psychopath if they started having feelings of happiness and dare I say love.
#MM #romance #tragedy #triggers –Twinsie Tenise #Top5 from July-December 2025
Dudes! The books I read from July through December made it incredibly difficult to narrow them down to just 5 favorites. I know, every reader faces these problems, but do you ever wanna say- forget this- then change it to your top 8. Or maybe your top 5 plus 3. I’m always looking for a loophole because sometimes I don’t want to narrow it down. I encountered that issue with this list but told myself to suck it up and narrow it down. Ugh! I can be so mean to me sometimes! After a whole lot of back and forth, I narrowed the list to 5. Without further ado and in no particular order, I give you my top 5 from July through December 2025.
Thomas Mulvaney was just a child when an error in judgment cost him everything. He vowed then that he would do anything to atone for his mistake. And he did. He never strayed from the right path. Until Aiden.
Aiden Mulvaney doesn’t exist. He’s a lie created by the father who disowned him and by Thomas Mulvaney, the only man Aiden had ever begged to love him. But that was years ago, when he’d still believed in fairytales. Before Thomas rejected him.
Thomas has spent years trying to have Aiden in his life while keeping him at arm’s length, but Aiden’s done with half-measures. He’s done with Thomas the martyr. He’s just done. So, he’s kept his distance. Trouble is, now, someone is threatening to expose a secret that affects them all.
No, not that one. A secret so shameful, Thomas won’t even utter it out loud. Can he and Aiden revisit the past and keep the family name intact, or will they both be buried beneath the weight of their memories as their old feelings resurface?
Goodreads
Amazon
When I started this series it was complete so it is not as if I had to wait for books to release. However, once it was alluded there was something between Thomas and Aiden, I could not wait to get to their story. It felt like it took me for-ev-er to get to them but it was so worth the wait. Don’t get me wrong, I loved getting to know everyone else but my anticipation for this forbidden-ish romance was off the charts and I would like to say that Ms James did not disappoint in the delivery. Maniac was a sinfully sexy slow burn. Thomas and Aiden had an undeniable chemistry and I anticipated the moment they either self destructed or opened their eyes and realized they were IT for one another.
These 2 were stubborn, Thomas especially. I get his delima but still it was no excuse for some of his actions over the past 2 decades. I saw things from both sides and my heart ached for both men but Aiden was the one I was “siding” with in the beginning.
I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know this family of vigilante killers. They each have something that makes them special. And each of their, eh, talents makes every single one of them an integral part of this operation headed by Thomas. This series consumed me for MONTHS! As sad as I am to see it end, I’m happy with how things turned out. I listened to the audiobooks, all of which were narrated by Liam DiCosimo. His voice is so yummy! I love how he speaks differently for each character. I think the Thomas voice is my favorite.
If I were the kind of man who carved actual notches into my bedpost for every new partner who landed between my sheets, I wouldn’t have a bed left to show for it.
GRAYSON
I know my way around the bedroom and the playroom, so I should have known that flirting with my older–and dominant–boss was a recipe for disaster. But by the time I realize I’m in over my head with the disgustingly rich and perfectly commanding Robert McAvoy, it’s too late to turn back. I want him and I crave the way he makes me feel, even if it’s confusing and threatens everything about the life I’ve built for myself.
I’m not a submissive. I’m not meek and I’m not mild, but when Rob is around it’s easy to see the appeal in all of those things.
* * * Flirting with Grayson was a bad idea from the start, but I’ve never been the kind of man to shy away from a challenge.
ROB
He’s frustrating, but he’s brilliant. He’s defensive and dominant, but he’s desperate to be taken care of. He’s perfect for me, and it doesn’t matter how long I have to wait for him to see it because he’s worth all of my time and more. A back and forth game leads to something far more real than either of us bargained for, and before long Grayson is in my bed and my heart. I want Grayson on his knees for me, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get him there, even if that means I have to humble myself before the man who’s too scared to trust me with his heart.
Whatever it takes.
Goodreads
Amazon
Grayson has had a thing for his boss since, well since forever. No matter how much he wants the other man, it will never work. They are both Doms and a Dom needs a submissive. Someone willing to submit and trust their Dom to know what they need. Someone who can listen and do as they are told. Someone quite the opposite of Grayson.
I knew what was going to happen. What this book was going to do to me. I had already read it once. Then on the day the audiobook released I snatched it right up and started immediately. This afternoon I sat in my front yard ugly crying as a certain part played. A part, I might add, both narrators did an impeccable job of bringing to life. Now here’s my conundrum, friends. When I read the book I gave it 5 stars because it deserved the 5 stars! However after listening to the audiobook and feeling like it made the entire story better, why can’t I rate it more than 5 stars?! This rating system sucks sometimes. Lol But I digress, my problem with the rating system has nothing to do with the book. I obviously loved it!
One promise.
One summer to see it through.
One explosive love fueled by mutual obsession.
The day Clint sees his son, Joey, off to basic training, the young man he’s devoted his life to extracts one promise from him: spend the summer doing something selfish for a change. The request seems harmless enough until Joey puts his best friend, Raven, in charge of seeing it through.
Raven would do anything for the people who took him in as a teen, and, when it comes to Clint, anything comes without limits. When encouraging Clint to explore his selfish side reveals Raven’s love for the older man, Raven is shocked to discover his feelings may not be unrequited. Not only are they returned, but all his darkest, most hidden desires have finally found their match.
Clint’s possession feeds every craving Raven’s ever known. Raven’s openness provides Clint the freedom he’s longed for to take whatever he wants, and soon boundaries are abandoned at the bedroom door. As summer’s promise bleeds into winter, and the threat of Joey’s impending return looms over their heads, Clint and Raven love faster and harder.
When Joey’s disapproval ends up being the least of their concerns, Raven and Clint go to desperate extremes to stay close because something is better than nothing. Facing an uncertain future, both men are left wondering if you can ever go too far or risk too much and still come out on the other side whole.
Bad Wrong Things is an age-gap, best friend’s dad romance with two possessive MCs and themes of hurt/comfort and second chances. Both MCs are consenting adults and eventually get their hard-earned HEA. Use the look inside feature for trigger warnings.
Goodreads
Whoa! I finished this weeks ago and its still on my mind. Raven wants Clint, his best friends dad. He has for quite some time. The men end up in close-ish proximity for the summer and Raven soon discovers he isn’t alone. Seems Clint has a thing for Raven too. A summer fling can’t hurt, right? Well that may have been the case with any 2 other people but we aren’t talking about other people. This is Raven and Clint’s story and their story is not your hearts and flowers love story.
Their story is toxic.
Violent.
All consuming.
Soul crushing.
“I lived for the small windows of time either right before or right after when he momentarily forgot he hated me.”
There is a whole lot of messed up stuff going on so proceed at your own risk. Clint is Ravens addiction. Clint also isn’t fair. The mean sh!t he said to Raven at times had me raging. These men were, for lack of a better word, violent together but they were also undeniable soul mates. The “violence” is part of what made them perfect for one another. 5 taboo af stars! I listened to the audiobook it is narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Liam DiCosimo.
He comes to me through a lattice in a confessional booth in my church.
He’s brash, vulgar, and confessing to things that would send him to hell, and yet, I find myself intrigued by the mysterious man.
His sinful words thrill me. His way of life, so different from my own, has me coveting excitement that’s long been missing. The more I’m around him, the more I realize how long I’ve been deprived of so much, and the more my own deviance begins to emerge.
On paper, nothing about the two of us makes sense, and there are many reasons why I should keep my distance. I try to be pious, but if anyone were to find the skeletons in my closet, I’d be excommunicated from the church.
When something from my past reveals itself, I find myself being pulled into a way of life I didn’t think would be in my future, and now I straddle the line between right and wrong. Morality vs necessity.
I’m a priest. He’s a murderer. But we’re both sinners.
Dude! You know that feeling when you finish a good book and you just pause to reflect on things? Okay, well imagine that happenening every other chapter. Lucero has a certain finesse that leaves you wanting in the best way. As the book progressed, chapters didn’t just end and the next one start. No. The chapter would end and I would usually say dude, damn, or another 4 letter word, then pause in awe of the brilliance before continuing on. I’m adding this one to my reread pile. 5 holy stars!
As old desires resurface, the line between sacrifice and obsession blurs, threatening to draw them both into a place they cannot escape…
I took a vow to God, to my faith, to my people. As a priest, I am bound by duty, but there’s something I can never escape—Ronan. He was my entire world. We were young, stupid, and full of dreams neither of us was able to express and when those feelings became too much, he left me.
I chose this life—a life of celibacy and sacrifice. I convinced myself it was what I wanted. To move on and let go of the past I could never have. To let go of him. But when he comes back whispering his sins and fantasies that all allude to being about me. His every word pulls me back where I can’t forget and awakens my own hidden desires.
I thought I had buried him—buried us—but the truth is, I never stopped loving him. He left to become someone else, someone who didn’t carry the weight of our love and I became suffocated within the confines of my collar. Now the temptation to cross every line I’ve sworn to uphold burns hotter than ever because he’s just within my grasp.
I should have never come back. But how could I stay away when the man I still love haunts my dreams? When I left, I thought I could move on, but the truth is—I never did. Despite the bodies I put beneath me, it was Elias I heard screaming my name. It was always him.
I came back seeking closure, but when I saw him again, standing there in his priest’s robes, cold and distant, I realized he wasn’t the sweet boy I had left behind. He had become a man—a man who made me realize I was still yearning to rekindle the fire I had extinguished out of fear all those years ago. I can’t stop myself from demanding everything I want and need from him.
I can’t stop begging for more. He may have made a vow, but I will show him that succumbing to me and allowing our fire to consume him will be greater than his heaven. I would worship every part of his body and soul. If he would just let me in…I would be his god.
Bound by duty and haunted by regret, Elias and Ronan are forced to confront a past that refuses to stay hidden. Elias, fixed in place by promises made long ago, is unable to shake the weight of a love that was never meant to be. Ronan returns like a restless force, pulling him back to what they once shared. Can they break free from the ties that bind them, or will they be forced to surrender to a past that still burns too brightly to forget?
Goodreads
Elias and Ronan have spent half a lifetime loving each other from afar. Their story isn’t pretty. Its not a sunshine and roses love story.
No.
It was messy.
It was painful.
Tragic, intense and incredibly unfair.
As well as heartbreakingly beautiful.
No matter what they did, there was no escaping the other. Their love never waned no matter how many miles and years were between them.
My heart has never been more f’n broken by a book than it is right now. For the last 45-60 minutes I cried so hard, I couldnt breathe. This was an epic love story. Ronan and Elias were IT for one another. They made one another so happy but there was always an obstacle. Their story was filled with so much darkness, angst and tragedy. They were healing from the past and were headed towards a future neither man had ever imagined.
I really am at a loss for what to say because I did not expect for it to hit me the way it did. Not to be too dramatic but I worry I may never fully recover from this one. It is now 7 hours later and my heart is still heavy af. I get it, the reason it was written as such but it still sucks. Annnnd here come the tears again. This was my introduction to SK Pryntz and I’m obsessed! The narrator, Vincent Graves was absolute perfection. Please voice more things because I need more of that sexy as sin voice in my audiobook life. I will listen to all the words you read. Your voice is ear candy, Sir. Uhhhh sorry, I’m getting way off track here.
5 absolutely soul crushing stars.
Even though I had no clue going in that this was a romantic tragedy, I cannot say if I would have even attempted to read it had I known. I guess I can’t be mad about it because sadness and heartache be damned, this book was addictive and intoxicating. Without a doubt one of the best books of the year. Time will not be able to erase Ronan and Elias’s story from my mind. I will carry them with me forever. Please read the lengthy trigger warnings. Beneath His Robes is not for everyone.
She wondered why such friendly, normal appearing, men were locked behind bars, and why the sweet woman in the cell upstairs (who taught Ann to crochet) was about to go on trial for murder. That was the beginning of her lifelong curiosity about the “Whys” behind criminal behavior.
Following in the footsteps of her grandfather, a sheriff in Michigan, Ann joined the Seattle Police Department when she was 21, worked a year and a half, but couldn’t pass the eye test. After five years of rejection slips, she finally sold her first article for $35! Soon, she found her niche when she began writing for fact-detective magazines like TRUE DETECTIVE.
Ann was a full-time true crime writer from 1969 – 2015. Over the past 30 years, she has published 33 books and 1400 articles, mostly on criminal cases. Ann has a BA from the University of Washington in Creative Writing, with minors in Psychology, Criminology and Penology. She has completed courses in Crime Scene Investigation, Police Administration, Crime Scene Photography and Arrest, Search, and Seizure, earning her an Associates Degree from Highline Community College.
Ann not only attended several police seminars on organized crime, arson, bomb search, and DNA, but taught her own seminars to law enforcement groups, and was a certified instructor in many states on subjects such as: Serial Murder, Sadistic Sociopaths, Women Who Kill, and High Profile Offenders. She was a member of the U.S. Justice Department Task Force that set up the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (VI-CAP), and testified twice before Senate Judiciary Sub-committees on victims’ rights and on the danger of serial killers.
Ann’s books deal with three areas: the victims’ stories; the detectives and prosecutors and how they solve their cases with old fashioned police work and modern forensic science; and the killers’ lives. Ann spent months researching for her books, investigating the killers’ early childhood, and even back into their family histories to find some of the genesis of their behavior.
Eight of Ann’s books have been made into TV movies, and five more are in the works. She won the coveted Peabody Award for the miniseries based on her book,Small Sacrifices, and has two Anthony Awards from Bouchercon, the mystery fans’ organization. She has been nominated three times for Edgar Awards from the Mystery Writers of America. She was also awarded the Washington State Governor’s Award. Ann is active in support groups for victims of violent crimes and their families, in programs to help battered and abused women, and support groups for children caught in traumatic living situations.
Ann Rule passed away in July of 2015.
From Ann Rule:
“My first book, THE STRANGER BESIDE ME, was about Ted Bundy, but, amazingly, I had the book contract to write about an unknown killer six months before Bundy was identified as the “Ted Killer.” And I had known him all along, and didn’t realize it; he was my partner in the all-night shift at Seattle’s Crisis Clinic!”
“To choose a book subject, I weed through about 3,000 suggestions from readers. I’m looking for an “anti-hero” whose eventual arrest shocks those who knew him (or her): attractive, brilliant, charming, popular, wealthy, talented, and much admired in their communities–but really hiding behind masks.”
Review by Twinsie Tenise
Wow! This was a compelling first hand account from somone who may have known Ted Bundy better than anyone. Her name was Ann Rule and she would later learn she was best friends with a serial killer. They worked together at a call center, clicked and were instant best friends. He was so kind to her, unlike how he treated his victims. For some reason he deemed her safe and would continue to try and keep her safe throughout their time knowing one another. To be Ann, a young writer looking for their big break when the story of a lifetime falls right in your lap. The moral delima she must have faced as the dots began to connect. I thank Ann for sharing her story. I am a true crime junkie and when I learned through a podcast about this book, I had to read it. I ended up listening to the audiobook narrated by the author this morning. It was an intimate telling of their story in her words with correspondence from him. I am so happy she decided to narrated it because I feel like she is the only person capable of telling this story. I know she wrote the book but I appreciate that she also voiced the audio version. She outlived Ed by well over 20 years,  after listening to this book I cannot even imagine all of the what ifs she lived with until her passing.
