I am so grateful to be on year 9 hosting this event with three of my favorite people. I am an author and a daily romance reader. I also spend a lot of money on books, flavored coffee, and wine. Thistle Farms is one of my fav places to shop! My fav color is green.

Novellas or long books?

Series as long as each book has one couple, not same couple for ten books. Although, I do have some series with same couple that I love.

On a typical day, how much time do you spend reading?

5:30pm until I fall asleep

As a caveat, this is a new to me author and I have not read any of the rest of this series. I picked this up for a fun and quick read, and boy is that ever what I received! Imogen is like any normal human being, but not. Catch my drift?! She gets hurt and takes time to heal, she just doesn’t ever die. She goes undercover at an animal rescue shelter with a plan to find a blood witch…a good-ish blood witch (another oxymoron). She ends up being a ghost and a savior all while remaining immortal. If something wonky can happen, Imogen will find it, LOL! I am hooked and working on getting the actual first book of the series to see what other types of antics Imogen can get herself into.

The latest installment in Darci Hannah’s delicious Beacon Bakeshop Mystery series set in small-town Beacon Harbor, Michigan, featuring a baker heroine who lives in the local lighthouse with her beloved Newfoundland dog, Wellington.

Lindsey prefers to keep her bakeshop’s Halloween decor light and autumnal, rather than gruesome and ghoulish. But everyone knows her lighthouse home is haunted. Some intrepid teens have even tried to break in to witness the resident ghost themselves. Dreading Halloween night, Lindsey reluctantly allows her influencer and podcaster best friend, Kennedy, to host a live ghost hunting investigation in the lighthouse, conducted by a professional team. The segment is uneventful—until things take a terrifying turn. The team freaks out. As Kennedy joins the mad dash outside, she bumps into what looks like the prankster teens’ creepy clown costume hanging from a tree. But when Lindsey’s dog, Wellington, begins to whine, they make a grim the clown is no dummy. It’s a corpse.

Now Lindsey and company will need to keep their cool if they want a ghost of a chance to solve the murder—and see another Halloween . . .

Ghost hunts, dead bodies, and baked goods….what more could one ask for? This is quite the crazy tale that is part of the Beacon Bakeshop Mystery series. I noticed this book on a giveaway on Goodreads and thought, “why not?” and then actually won! One caveat that I must disclose is that I didn’t realize this is part of a series and have not read the previous three. With that being said, I didn’t ever feel absolutely in the dark like I was missing something from not reading the prior books. There were times where I felt that if I had read the prior books, I may have a little more insight into some of the characters, but nothing drastic. With that being said, I was instantly pulled in to the story. Lyndsay owns an old lighthouse that has been converted into a bakery. She not only works there but also lives there. And quite happily with a resident ghost. Halloween is around the corner and the pranksters are out in full force. Her bestie ends up getting actual ghost hunters to come and do a live show at her place when all heck breaks loose when a dead body is found while on the live cast. There is seldom a dull moment at this lighthouse. Ghost lights, smudging, murders, famous authors, and just overall crazy people….are everywhere! It was a good story with a wonky murder tale that will actually have you guessing until the very end. It is a bit predictable in parts but I think that is the appeal of the small town of Beacon Harbor and having resident mystery solvers, a bit Scooby Doo-ish. Cute but not, if you catch my drift. Even with a murder, it is lighthearted and funny. Solid 4 stars!

This book absolutely blew me away. I finished the story, which is the end of the series, and felt like I lost a limb. Cyborg fan for LIFE!! When you read this book, please make sure that you read the dedication and author notes. This book pulled at my heartstrings in a lot of ways. You will have all the feels right from jump with this one. When Audra and Gage finally come together, they collide and there are fireworks! These two, even though they are fighting their own battles, have been doing a ton on their own because of their own situations (which is explained in the book, so just read it!), and they don’t realize how much they need someone to help them. The best part is they are able to help each other fight their own battles. As the story progresses, they really figure out what is truly worth fighting for. I finished reading this book and just had no clue how I was going to express to anyone how much I love this book AND the series, let alone how I was going to write a review. I don’t think many people are into “cyborg” type romances and what not but the Silver Cyborg series is so much more than that. It is real people, with real problems, that come together to fight for a good cause. But let us not forget the humor, wit and sarcasm that comes right along with these characters. I literally messaged the author when I finished the book and asked why was it over… I know that all good things come to an end. I highly HIGHLY recommend this book and most of all, this series!
