Dragon Council Emissary Lucia Bengtsson visits Minnesota’s clan to discover how they thwarted a recent invasion by a long-prophesized World Destroyer. What she finds is a family that welcomes her with an unquestioning warmth she’s never experienced among her own clan members, who have always judged her by the diminutive size of her Light Dragon. Only the sexy yet antagonistic Ivar Drekison demands she prove herself while he keeps her at arms-length. Arms she desperately wants wrapped around her.
Third-born son of the Star of the North clan, Ivar Drekison’s attitude is as sharp and cold as his Metal Dragon’s claws. When Lucia Bengtsson, the gorgeous yet standoffish Dragon Council representative, arrives to interrogate his family on their battle strategies, he senses an underhanded betrayal brewing. While everyone else adores Lucia and her gentle manners, Ivar clashes with her in an attempt to force the truth behind her visit. In doing so, he must also battle his own overwhelming attraction to her.
This novella is the second in the Star of the North Dragon series, which can be read in any order or as standalone novellas.
Dragons! Seriously, need I say more? Ivar will have a special place in my heart forever. He is my soul-dragon. He is brash, rough around the edges and loves to drop the f-bomb (I’m in love!). Lucia is the opposite of everything that Ivar is. She is small, naïve, and very proper. She grew up within the Dragon Council and her family is part of the Elders. She is tasked with going to Minnesota and bringing back a representative from the Drekison family, who saved the world from destruction. She experiences the biggest shot of culture shock when she arrives at the Drekison home. This world is nothing like her own. However, right from the very beginning, Ivar and Lucia are drawn together. Both try to fight it but we all know that just won’t happen. Watching their relationship grow and seeing how Ivar helps Lucia to come out of her shell will make your heart melt. Now, I don’t want this to seem like some mushy, gooey romance, even though it is, but the author inserts the perfect amount of debauchery and shenanigans to make it fun, and HAWT, too!
This book is a little softer than the first because the fight with the World Destroyer is over, but it just as swoon worthy. To anyone that reads this, KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF IVAR! HE’S MINE!
Ava Cuvay writes out of this world romance featuring sassy heroines, often-alien-but-always-sexy heroes, and an alcoholic beverage or two… Set in a galaxy far, far away. She resides in central Indiana, USA with her own scruffy-looking nerfherder, kiddos who are growing up without her permission, and two kitties that make her laugh. She believes life is too short to bother with negative people, everything is better with Champagne, and Han Solo shot first. When not writing, Ava is thinking about writing. Or wine. And she’s always thinking about bacon.
Betty Hayworth is hiding from her life. She endured cybernetic enhancements to serve her country as an international spy, but infiltrated top-secret information from her own government as a high-end escort instead. So, she ran away to a small Indiana neighborhood where she works as a librarian and fears her handler will track her down or her cyborg status will be exposed to a society that abhors them. None of which helps her find the kind of love and happiness she reads about in her romance novels.
Everett Dean is running for his life. As founder and CEO of the premier cybernetic design company, someone is trying to destroy him. His life, his company, his legacy. He needs to discover the truth and expose whoever is behind the recent attempts on his life, before they try again. This search leads him to an unassuming library where he meets an enigmatic woman who looks like a pin-up model, fights like a trained assassin, and kisses like an angel. All of which inspire him to reassess his life’s priorities.
Their mutual attraction is a risk neither can afford. But as complications from their secrets arise, they must learn to trust each other if they hope to survive.
Book Two of the Silver Cyborg Series trilogy. This story has a romantic happy ending and a storyline continuing to book three.
What do you do when you realize God is just a man and that man is your maker? Betty is a librarian but she is so much more than just a librarian. This woman is a beautiful bad@ss. She was used and abused but is trying to just live and come out on top. This woman has an insanely crazy past. She sold her soul to the devil himself and became a cyborg. She left that life trying to just live and be normal when one day, the man that was behind giving humans a second chance as cyborgs, quite literally lands in her lap. Everett is on the run and he has no clue why! He is a millionaire with crazy intelligence and a great government contract, aaaaand then he was no longer. He becomes a vagabond and ends up in Betty’s library trying to look for answers. Their worlds collide and Pandora’s Box explodes open. These two are both trying to distinguish between the good guys and bad guys all while having something vital in common: secrets. What would the neighbors think? This book is seriously intense but has all of my favorite things like snark, angst, secrets, sarcasm, fighting, serious sexy time, and an ending that will keep you wanting more!

Officer Adam “Lemon” Lehmann volunteered for experimental cybernetic upgrades to save his life, but the decision killed his career. Now working as a bar bouncer in a society which both fears and loathes cyborgs, Adam wants to lay low until either his aging human parts, or his glitching cyborg parts end his lonely life.
Eve Myer has critical information about her employer’s corporate corruption which is killing cyborgs. But when the internet whistleblower she meets at a bar takes a fatal shot meant for her, she clings to the sexy yet reticent bouncer’s offer of safety. She finds both protection and passion in his arms even as an unknown adversary is determined to destroy her information, and her.

Time, choices, mistakes, regrets, fate…and MadDog2020!
When Adam was dying he made a choice to accept cybernetic prosthetics to save his life, but now being a cyborg means he is existing in between worlds. Happy to be alive but nothing to live for. He was shunned for his choice and lives a solitary life for fear that he will glitch and hurt someone. Eve is a smart and strong woman who found out the company she works for is killing cyborgs. Her objective is to get this information to the right people and ultimately save the cyborgs. When these two meet you can feel the connection right away. They have a slow burn type of chemistry. One absolutely worth waiting for. He knows something is off with her but can’t put his finger on it. One thing leads to another and BAM! Their lives have been slammed together and now both of them are in danger.
In true Ava fashion there is quite a bit of snark and sass with some seriously hawt scenes. Believe me, you don’t want to miss any of that. One of the things I loved most about the story is that it wasn’t predictable. It consumes you because the conspiracies are crazy and when you see how things change at the drop of a dime it keeps you turning the pages. Add a little MadDog2020 and the mention of toilet paper hoarding and you’ve got yourself an awesome story! No, seriously. These are mentioned and were perfect additions (so now you totally have to read it because you have to know if it’s true!) but the love story that occurs is breathtaking. A sort of Beauty and the Beast scenario, if you will, with a wonderful happily ever after. However, the real zinger is near the end. There are a few characters that are going to become big players in this trilogy and I can’t wait for the next. Bring it on!

Ava Cuvay writes Sci-fi Romance, has dipped her toes into Paranormal Romance, and writes/illustrates children’s books under a different pen name. By day, she’s a Substitute Teacher, by evening, she’s Mom and Sweetie, and somewhere in all that she also flexes her Author skills. Third graders have declared her cool because she “has author merch,” but her teens usually just roll their eyes and her cats just glare until she throws them treats. 😉
When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?
At the moment, I’m stuck on the second book of my trilogy, so I’ll definitely say the books after books one!
When writing a series how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?
Good question, for any books… stand-alones or series. And my only answer is hours of soul-searching and good critique partners!
Writing can be an emotionally draining and stressful pursuit. Any tips for aspiring writers?
Surround yourself with cheerleaders (family, friends, and other authors), support other writers, celebrate the small victories, and don’t beat yourself up on the set-backs.
On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?
None. My writing comes in spurts and I rarely get to do it on a daily basis.
Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special.
Gasp! That’s like asking me to choose my favorite child! I love all my main characters because I love watching them grow through their story arcs.
If any of your books were to be made into a movie, who are the celebrities that would star in it? What book and who?
“What a Dragon Wants” my dragon shifter story. I’d say Liu Yifei as my Chinese-American heroine, Chris Hemsworth as my Viking hero, and so, of course, Tom Hiddleston would have to play his total-a**hole older brother. 😉
What is your definition of success?
Getting to publish my books and having readers enjoy them!
Viking dragon-shifter Ty Drekison relocates to LA from his Minnesota clan in preparation to battle the awakening of Níðhöggr, Destroyer of the World. But he can’t stay away from the delicious cuisine of his new favorite Chinese restaurant, or its beautiful owner, who whets his hunger. He can’t seem to say the right things around her, and he certainly can’t reveal his shifter abilities. But with a grim prophesy threatening the fate of the world, can he be blamed for seeking moments of sweet release with her… in bed?
Wu Lin’s newest loyal customer is a sexy Nordic god of a man who makes her inner dragon stand up and beg for bread and butter. She’d give up her family’s red bean bun recipe to get a peek at his mighty hammer, but she’s the last dragon-shifter of her clan, and her time and energy must be focused on the upcoming battle against the demon monster Móshen who is prophesized to demolish the Earth. Even so, Ty complements her in every way. Could it be she has found the yang to her yin… in bed?
This 33K novella is one in the Star of the North Dragon series, which can be read in any order or as standalone novellas.
What a Dragon Wants, you ask? Fortune cookies and to save the world! I love how this author took two different cultures and intricately weaved them together in such a way that created a truly unique story. Ty is of Viking heritage and Lin is of Chinese heritage. Turns out that both have dragon shifters in their history and both have been prophesied to fight a monster who will try and destroy the world. Ty and Lin both carry a heavy burden. The difference is that Ty has his family to help carry this burden and Lin believes she is the last of her kind. Ty and Lin’s story starts as a slow burn but when they come together, they ignite like something fierce. What they find is a love like no other and a passion that may possibly save the world. There is a delicate push and pull with these two that will have you rooting for them to the very end.
“I’m not a delicate flower that’s going to wilt. In fact, maybe I am a superhero assassin.”
“We are opposites Black dragon, white dragon; water and fire; Yin and Yang. A complete whole. Out of primal chaos, the universe creates itself, organizes into cycles. Life and death, good and bad, push and pull.”
True to this author’s writing fashion, there is lots of action, with tons of wit and snark, but a hawt and passionate love story woven within. These two are so different but so made for each other. It is hard not to have a crazy case of the feels for them. The beautiful part to this is that Ty’s brothers are getting their own stories! Can’t wait!

Fear University (Book 1) by Meg Collett
I’ve always known I was a monster, and I don’t mean some teenage vampire shit either.
My mother abandoned me when I was ten years old because I have a freakish mutant disease that makes me incapable of feeling pain. I bounced from one foster family to another because too many people like to test my medical condition in a game of “Try To Make Ollie Scream.” At sixteen, I killed a man for taking that game too far.
Two years later, I’m still on the run in Kodiak, Alaska. Here, I’m the most dangerous person around, until I come face to face with a creature that should only exist in folklore. The monster is an aswang, and I, with my medical anomaly, am uniquely qualified to hunt the beast that haunts the night. At least, that’s what the two scarred, mostly crazy ’swang hunters tell me when they kidnap me and take me to Fear University, a school where young students learn to hunt and kill aswangs.
I arrive at the university a prisoner, but I stay because I finally find my freedom.
For once in my life, I belong. I’m needed. I make a home for myself inside the university masquerading as an old Alaskan prison. Something close to happiness warms my icy heart when I’m with my scarred, still mostly crazy tutor, Luke Aultstriver. For a murdering runaway like me, Fear University is a haven where I can put my skills to good use hunting monsters in the night.
But when certain truths come to light and even more lies are exposed, I fear that I, Ollie Andrews, am the worst kind of monster of all. And, maybe, they should be hunting me.
This book is recommended for mature readers due to sexual content, violence, and language.

Susan Griscom writes paranormal and contemporary romance–steamy and sexy are the way they usually turn out. She’s a huge fan of superheroes and bad boys confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers, and abilities beyond the norm mixed with hot, blow-your-socks-off romance.
She grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania doing a lot of daydreaming. It’s no big surprise that she writes romance stories, since many nights as a child she would lay awake fantasizing about her knight in shining armor.
Her wild imagination sparked her first story at the age of twelve; a story that her sixth grade teacher adopted for the class play that year. Having never achieved fame and fortune for that play, she attempted life the normal way with other activities, such as, working as a food lab technician, bartender, and cell phone repair technician, and a mom.
Now she lives in Northern California with a gorgeous view of Folsom Lake from her office where she stills spends a lot of time daydreaming. She loves to drink wine and fortunately there are several local wineries close by. Together, she and her modern day knight have five great superhero kids and nine mini-superhero grandkids, so far. When she’s not writing, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family drinking wine and dancing. Sign up for Susan Griscom’s newsletter: http://www.susangriscom.com/newsletter.html
Miranda Lynn – Escaping reality one book at a time has been Miranda’s motto since she learned to read. As an only child raised on a dairy farm her creative imagination brought words to life. She devoured more books growing up than her little town bookmobile could handle. It was inevitable that she would turn from reading them to writing them. This is her way to help not only herself but others escape the day to day drudge. Her books may take you on a journey through time, give you a look inside a fantasy realm, or delve into the magic of almost anything paranormal. Threading in heart stopping romance and dropping an occasional super sexy scene just to keep you on your toes. Miranda’s stories are focused around strong female leads and sexy males who appreciate them. She strives to encourage her readers that they can have it all in real life too. You can find her most days either subbing at the local high school or tucked away in her office working on the next story with a cup of java in her hand. She loves connecting with her readers online as well as in real life so make sure to find her on Facebook and check out where she will be signing throughout the year on her website.
Ava Cuvay. Sci-fi Romance author, Star Wars fan, bacon lover, and wine drinker. When not writing (or eating bacon or drinking wine), I substitute teach, help hubby make Disney vacation plans, drive kiddos to/from sports practices and games, and spoil two cats who seem to think I am at their beck and meow (I am). My body resides in Central Indiana, but my brain is off in a galaxy far, far away!
When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?
I’m in the middle of my Silver Cyborg Series, so I’d say “the others after” the first are the hardest. Like writing any story, the middle tends to drag/sag, so my over-arching story is struggling a bit right now. But, this is why authors have critique partners, beta readers, and a thousand rounds of edits!
What comes first? The plot or characters
It depends. I have a lot of ideas that begin with characters and now I have to wrap a story around them. But, I also have a lot of story ideas that I have to populate with characters. I also just have generic ideas I have to do both with. For example, my “Blood King” evolved from the question: What if Dracula was just some wannabe poser from an alien race of bloodsuckers…?
What is harder? The blurb writing, naming the book, or naming the series.
Blurb writing. How do you cut to the heart of your story, introduce your characters, make it all SOOOOO fascinating that the reader HAS TO buy it right now… all in about 250 words? Ack! The pressure!
What is your favorite memory so far as an author?
Every time a reader enjoys my stories. It’s like having a stranger compliment me on my children… it confirms that I’m sending quality products out into the world, and that I’m not totally delusional about it 😉
What is your definition of success?
Every book I sell is a success. Every fan I lure, er, gain is a success. Every tick closer to #1 ranking is a success. I count my small blessings because I know they’ll add up to big things eventually, and I’m in this for the long haul (got too many story ideas to quit anytime soon!).
Bound by duty, two soldiers yield to their hearts’ command.
Captain Jo Behsue has never questioned her career with Central Command’s leading military force—until now. Recent mission failures and the constant battle for acceptance from her fellow Corpsmen kindle her frustration, while the attention of a golden-eyed Klorakian mercenary ignites her body. Wrapped in his arms, she discovers even a scarred, hollow shell of a captain can love.
An officer in the Klorakian militia, Lux fights to return the rightful monarch to their homeworld’s throne—a planet which scorns his genetic shortcomings. He is loyal to his cause and king, but faces a bleak future once their mission is complete. His seduction of the combative yet beautiful Captain Behsue provides a glimpse of hope, and he fights for a life with Jo, who finds only beauty in his defects.
This book is intended for a mature audience. It contains graphic language, vivid relations, and the word “moist.”
Willing and wanting! Packed full of action and sexual angst. Captain Jo is with the Corps and Klorakian mercenaries are their allies. Jo has always been the ugly one. Her life is with the Corps, life and body. She has trained hard and believes she is invincible. She goes on a mission and is saved by the Klorakians. A certain Klorakian, Lux, is the one that saves her. Lux is an outcast himself. Full of genetic defects by Klorakian standards. Both are unwanted until they run into each other. Naturally fireworks explode. They both find refuge in each other but Jo continues to fight it as she is constantly trying to figure what is right and wrong. Lots of secrets are uncovered between the two of them. This is a sexually charged push and pull between them but they are always in the middle of a battle. Whether it be with the PITAS or with their emotions. They overcome many obstacles and then begin to wonder if they are worth each others time. This is such a crazy ride. Love the characters and the world building (or space building). It’s outstanding! You feel like you are right in the middle with the sights and sounds of all the soldiers. This author has an incredible knack of pulling you right in the story and making it where you absolutely don’t want to put the book down. Well done, Ava! Another out of this world story!
Ava Cuvay writes out of this world romance featuring sassy heroines, often-alien-but-always-sexy heroes, and an alcoholic beverage or two… Set in a galaxy far, far away. Think “Star Wars” meets “Firefly”, without Jar-Jar Binks, and with a lot more heat.
She resides in central Indiana with a hubby who makes her laugh and kiddos who are growing up way too quickly. She enjoys the world of wine and spirits, amusement park thrill rides, and laughing at her own foibles (yeah, she laughs a lot).

Hi! I’m Ava Cuvay. I write hot Sci-fi Romance and children’s picture books under another name. I like long romantic walks on the beach at sunset and… HAHAHA, I can’t even type that with a straight face. Seriously, exercise is not my jam. But I do live for romance stories, Star Wars references, wine, bacon, and inappropriateness.
When you are writing, what are some go to’s that you needs? IE Foods to eat, noise level, place to sit.
I write at the dining room table, which is the central hub of the household. Not saying I’m particularly prolific while I’m there… especially if hubby is at his computer. But at least there’s no TV in that room to distract me 😉
What are you favorite things about attending signings?
Chatting with the readers! Meeting new people, talking about writing and romance with other kindred spirits, and (see previous answer) wine and inappropriateness.
What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?
Gena Showalter or Kresley Cole, because their voices are the reason I started down this path. But honestly, I’m impressed by *anyone* who writes and publishes… it is an honor to be among them!
When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person?
Oh hell no (Can I say that?). I write whenever I can, when the muse strikes, or when the house needs cleaned.
What is your favorite memory so far as an author?
When Twinsie Kelly bought my first book at my first signing (which was the first WOTR). I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped and I stared blankly for several seconds, assuming I’d misheard. You mean, someone actually wanted to spend their money on my book?? Best. Feeling. Ever!!!
Do you have a book that is your most prized possession? What is it and why is it so amazing?
I hate to dust, so I’m not overly sentimental about “things,” but my favorite “book” is a journal where I wrote all the funny and delightful things my kiddos did when they were babies. Oddly enough, I don’t write much in that journal not that they are teenagers… Hmmm….. 😉
