#wotr #attendingauthor Whiskey Sweet Promise (Whiskey Sweet 1) by Kelsey Elise Sparrow

How is a person supposed to come to terms with these facts?

Fact 1: My parents aren’t upstanding citizens (kind of learned that one at an early age)
Fact 2: The same two people who gave me life are the same people I, not too long ago, watched slice up two of my high school peers. (Great! Serial killers on top of idiotic thieves.)

Oh, and that’s just the starter. What comes next makes those things seem like child’s play or having a cotton candy treat at a damn fair.

Destiny? Fate? I’d like to give those bitches a swift kick in the teeth.
Kincaid Peterson has his work cut out for him if I’m the one he wants to spend his time with.

Review by Twinsie Dee

i bought this book and here is my honest review

Dylan just wanted to move on from her past she moved away and then was forced to come back home, she needed to deal with her parent’s legal issues. this is the last thing she wanted to do was to feel like they thought she was lying about her statement when all she did was everything the cops asked of her and gave them all the things they could need. one thing she wasn’t prepared to deal with or see was her old flame Kincaid, but oh was she in his sights and he was going to get back what was his and left all those years ago. Dylan was going to have to face her past and let a few skeletons out of her closet before she can truly move on from her past. will Dylan let her friends and Kincaid in more than she ever intended to let anyone else or is she going to build her walls even higher. this was such a great story, if the spelling errors and grammar oops were fixed it would be even better but still an amazing story.

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Kelsey Elise Sparrow – mom, teacher by day, and lover of fiction. Writing is my passion as well as being a huge fan of the arts along with Marvel comics.

When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?

It’s the follow up books in the series. I’ve been working hard to keep all the details right.

When writing a series how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?

Remembering every person in the world has their own story as such my characters do as well. The locations play a part as well.

Writing can be an emotionally draining and stressful pursuit. Any tips for aspiring writers?

Take your time. You will know when your story is complete. Don’t force it. It will show in your work.

On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?

Some days, I write nothing at all. The scenes will dance around in my head and remain there. Others, I write upwards of 3,000 words. It depends if the muse is hanging out or if she’s just passing through.

Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special.

I have one who reminds me of me because she has a number of my characteristics. Her name is Zoie and she is in The Norton Sisters series. I liked the name so much, I gave another character the same name. I hadn’t realized I spelled the names exactly the same until I’d already published both books. The second Zoie really goes by the nickname, Nikki, which fans will discover more about in the follow up to Cross’ story in The Whiskey Sweet series.
A character from the Inked to the Max series crosses over to Whiskey Sweet. We’ll see if she sticks around or heads back to Georgia.

If any of your books were to be made into a movie, who are the celebrities that would star in it? What book and who?

Oh wow. This one is a hard one. I’d love to see An Author’s Tale on the big screen. Stephanie Daniels would have to be played by Amber Riley. Her cover model love interest would be played by either Liam or Chris Hemsworth. Her best friend could be played by Naomi Scott. She has the moxy/confidence to own her own sexuality as well as put Stephanie in her place. Florence Pugh would play the other best friend.

My second pick would be Paper Lipstick. Sophie Turner could play Max and Zendaya could play the best friend, Zoie. Deckard has to be played by Tyler Lee Hoechlin. Zoie has a dancer’s body and Zendaya fits that mold perfectly.

I’d work Hero Fiennes-Tiffin into the movie some type of way.

What is your definition of success?

For me, success comes in waves. The first is having the ability to complete any novel while being a full-time, special education teacher. The second is every person who tells me how much they were touched by or identified with one of my characters.

Do you have anything you want to share that didn’t fit on one of these questions?

Please feel free to listen to the music that inspired the works. Each book has a playlist at the end of it. Also, know all characters are connected one to another. Even those who reach into fantasy and the paranormal.

#AuthorSpotlight – Kelsey Elise Sparrow

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself and which Twinsie do you know.

Kelsey Elise Sparrow. I am a romance author who loves most versions of the genre. That means, I write under several subgenres. I’m also a teacher and mother. Some of my favorite stories have all left me wanting for more as well as thrown me for a loop. I decided I wanted the same to be found in my writing.

When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?

The ones that come after especially if there has been time or other works between works.

What comes first? The plot or characters?

Most of the time the plot comes first. On a very rare occasion, the characters give me the plotline and everything that comes with it.

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?

I have a few. JM Walker, Audrey Carlan, JR Ward. Top of my list would be Gena Showalter. I love her works and have for years.

If you could ask that author three questions about their writing, writing process, or books, what would they be?

1. Do you keep a notebook handy for all your notes on a particular book as you write? 2. Do you have a process or checklist from concept to publish? 3. Are you one to promote other lessor-known authors?

What is harder? The blurb writing, naming the book, or naming the series?

Oh gosh. I absolutely loathe writing the blurb for my novels. The series names and titles come easily but the blurb makes me want to bawl my eyes out every time.

What is your definition of success?

Success is when you have readers who are just as passionate about an author’s characters as the author themselves. The characters are loved and the readers want to know what’s going on in their lives.
