So, if you’ve read my review of The Bourbon Kings, than you know that this book has a ton of characters and no ONE in this book is singled out. Well, not really. There’s still major chaos going on. There’s still the crazy Baldwine family and all their fucked-up-ness. And there’s still a crisis going on so pull up your big girl panties, get yourself a stiff drink (maybe some bourbon), and sit back and enjoy the ride.

So, Lane is still trying to figure out what’s going on with his family and the business, only now there’s more shit added to his plate. William Baldwine (Lane’s father) has been found dead, but before he departs this lovely world he leaves a complete and utter conundrum for his family to deal with. Lane certainly has his work cut out for him, but with the help of his lovely Lizzie I think he’ll manage. Fingers crossed!

I’m not going to mention all the supporting characters like before. I’m just going to tell you about some of my favorites! Samuel T. is my absolute fave. This guys outer shell tells you he’s a ladies man, a player, and a hard-hitting lawyer. His insides tell me he’s in love with Gin, but he’s too proud to tell her. I loved seeing his softer side in this one even though is was very brief, it was a nice change. Now, Edward Baldwine is still one of my faves and shall remain that way till I draw my last breath. He’s loyal to his siblings and friends. He’s smart and sexy and just plain old perfect. He does have some “daddy issues” that really should be dealt with, but, eh… I’ll take him! One more supporting character that bares mentioning is Gin. She starts this series being the regal spoiled brat that can’t even barely drive herself anywhere. She ends this book as someone I’d actually spend time with. I was glad to see the turn around. Must have had something to do with that “secret” talk she had with a certain hottie!

This book is just as good as the first, if not better. I seriously cannot wait to get to the bottom of all these shenanigans. I ate up every damn word and craved more. The pacing is pretty spot on and the writing style…well.. it’s JR Ward for godsakes… it rocked! More plot twists and tension will keep you enthralled for hours. I loved this and cannot wait for the next book.

So, this is the second installment of The Sinner’s Creed series and oh so damn good! This one is similar, yet way different than the first book. So many plot twists and much emotion that it kept me on the edge of my seat almost the entire time.

Shady is dead set on avenging Dirk and he’ll stop at nothing to do it. His one track mind can’t see anything but dead Death Mob members. That is until he meets Diem. His mind tends to waver a bit, but not enough to detour him from his original plan. He’s mean, he’s lean, and he’s tough as nails. I fell in love with him in Sinner’s Creed and my love for him only grew as I saw the turmoil he lived day in and day out.

Diem was a little harder for me to love. First there’s the name… DIEM… what does it mean? Is it short for something else? Did Kim make this name up? Does she really know someone named Diem? These are questions I’ll be asking Kim the next time I see her! Now, Diem came across as a little brash right from the get go, but once that major plot twist came through I understood more about her and came to love her with all the vigor and zest my body could handle.

The supporting character cast isn’t too large. Rookie and Carrie make the story more interesting just with their presence. Rookie makes Shady’s life seem funny sometimes and Carrie seems to keep Rookie grounded, which intern keeps Shady grounded.

Well.. I’m here to tell you that Kim has yet another excellent read here. The storyline is once again so compelling that I struggled to put it down. The characters are extremely powerful and keep you hanging on every word. The dialogue flows and the pacing is somewhat fast yet keeps you enthralled at all times. Kim creates plenty of tension and throws a huge plot twist at you that when you finally reach the climax you’ll feel at the very least, spent! I loved it!

WOW, WHAT A CUTE STORY

Ok, so I read outta order… I read book #2 along time ago, but it really didn’t matter… I think all these books can be read as standalones. This was cute, comical, and sexy. Bronte is so damn adorable and amusing and Logan… what a jerkface, at least in the beginning.

Bronte is a waitress from Kansas City and she’s won a trip to the Bahamas. Well, the trip sucks… her companion is a pain in the ass, the weather is gloomy and rainy, and to top it off, during the island evacuation due to a hurricane she gets trapped in an elevator with a meanie.

Logan is wealthy beyond compare and he’s rude and stuck up to just about anyone beneath his status, which is just about every one! When he gets trapped in an elevator at his new investment resort with a waitress he doesn’t really have a choice but to loosen up and be civil.

The supporting character cast is made up of mostly Logan’s friends who I believe will all have their own books. I know Hunter does cause that’s book #2, Beauty and the Billionaire the first one I’ve read and loved. Oh and I read The Billionaire and the Virgin which is a spin off series and really good also.

This book isn’t dark, but it’s not too light-hearted either. The characters are powerful and the writing style effortless to read. There are plenty of highs and lows to keep you guessing and the climax just right. It was a fun read and I’m going to try to stay reading in order now… no promises!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book

This book picks up a month after the events in the previous book. The TF-S team is rescuing Caroline Cotter who Mr. J kidnaped, but little do they know that it isnt really Caroline.
Ok so many things!! First, this is Merc’s book and we don’t know much about him other than Mr.J really screwed him over, more so than the rest of the team I think. Second, you don’t really wanna feel for the enemy but God I can’t help it!! Nightshade is Mr. J’s daughter, well she think she and Caroline are really his because that is the lie that she has been told all her life. That Caroline’s father kidnapped her and killed their mother when they were babies, when in fact it was the other way around but she doesn’t know that.
Nightshade and Merc fall for each other, but she hates herself for it because she is just pretending to be her sister and knows that once everyone finds out who and what she really is they will hate her for it, but she is there to do a job and get out.
There’s just so many levels of hair pulling in this book!! Lol!! You tug a little bit because you see these two falling, you really pull hard and wanna throw the book because you know she’s the enemy’s daughter but you see that she isn’t as bad as him, and finally you just rip it out because you just wanna slap them both; him for not realizing she’s the enemy and her for not realizing the lie she’s been living.
I love that we finally learn more about Merc, that we get to see the rest of the team again, and that things in the end turn out better than predicted. I can’t wait to see the team get Caroline back, the real one, and Mr. J get his comeuppance.

Yay, Moses, aka Daddy Drake, and Trevor finally get their book!! I have been waiting for their book since Embracing My Submission!!!!
It really bites that it happens to be after the events in Seduced by My Doms, but this is where they needed to be.
Trevor has always been this bubbly, happy go lucky sub; the sub that everyone at Club Genesis, Dom and Subs alike, love.
However after he was severely beaten, he is no longer the sub he once was.
The love that Drake has for Trevor can be seen in everything he does, it’s a beautiful thing. No matter how bad Trevor is mentally after this event, Drake doesn’t stop fighting to get His Trevor back. Both are dealing with guilt about the incident and Trevor seems to be sinking further in a black pit.
Yes, the sex scenes are hot between them, once Drake realizes he isn’t going to trigger a relapse in Trevor. However, for me they are just the icing on the cake in this story. Trevor finding himself and releasing he can’t let his tormentors win is the very best part of this story. It is a rough road getting there with a few bumps along the way, but he finally find himself in the end and it is wonderful to see the Trevor we all love come back.
Omg!!! Julianna and Mika are the best family anyone could have by the way, what they do for Drake and Trevor is simple heart melting!!!

From the HOT physical intensity to the chaotic story line to all the feels…….My only issue with the book is that it ended! Noooooo! This is the perfect storm for a crazy good, hot as hell story!

PHEW, I SERIOUSLY CAN’T CONTAIN MYSELF WITH THIS ONE

So… THIS BOOK SCARED THE SHIT OUTTA ME!!! This is was way out of my comfort zone fer sure, but holy hell, whadda ride! It’s bizarre, it’s scary, it’s funny (sort of), and it’s a total mindfuck! I still don’t know my own ass from a hole in the ground at this point!

Sara wakes up in a hospital/clinic kinda thing in northern Alaska as a member of The Light religious cult and she’s all banged up and blindfolded due to injuries to her eyes. She doesn’t remember anything. Not her name, not her family, and nothing about her past. I mean NOTHING! She has to rely on the people around her to fill her in on her life, her love, and her existence. Scary shit! At the same time Sara’s story is going on we have Stella who is an investigative reporter in Detroit and she’s investigating her friend, Mindy’s disappearance. Stella is ballsy and bold and won’t take no for an answer. She’ll stop at nothing to uncover the wrong doings and shady operation of Father Gabriel and The Light.

Dylan is a badass Detroit cop and he’s also Stella’s boyfriend, for now. He seems to be genuinely concerned for Stella and he’s constantly warning her off the bad neighborhoods of Detroit. It’s seems that’s where all the juicy stories come from so that’s where you’ll find Stella most days. Now Jacob is the assumed husband of Sara. He’s there when she wakes up in the clinic and tries to be there every step of the way during her recovery. He seems like a good guy, but I’m still on the fence with this one. Please Aleatha, stop messing with my mind!

The supporting character cast is vast. So many people who belong to this “Light” cult and most are not so good, at least in my opinion. Two people in particular that stands out and make me want to put Nair in their shampoo bottle and Ex-Lax in their food is Sister Lilith and Brother Timothy. They are sneaky and manipulative and I just want to burn them at the stake.

So, I know my review seems to be all over the place… but this book has my mind reeling. I don’t know who to trust. I don’t know if I love it or hate it. And I don’t know if Aleatha is slowly trying to drive me insane with this one! Who knows… all I know is the storyline is crazy good. The pacing is fast and on point. The characters are all likeable and realistic. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Away from the Dark which is coming out in (I believe) September 2016.

Sloan Murphy is the boss man of the VC Warriors as well as the oldest member of the vampire council. He does it all and if vampires could get high blood pressure and have heart attacks Sloan would be a prime candidate for both. Becky Spencer is Sloan’s new secretary that he really doesn’t want. She’s got a douche bag for a ex, a son in college that she loves, and is swearing off all men, good thing Sloan isn’t a man.
We get to see all of our favorite Warriors again; Sid and Jared are still smart asses, Damon and Duncan are still strong and true, Steve is still funny as hell and getting into trouble, Adam is still Adam, Jill is still throwing people through walls, Jax and Blaze are training the warrior wannabe’s, and Slade well he’s still my Dr. Hottie McVampire being all Dr. Buchanan.
Sloan really doesn’t want a mate, he’s too busy and he wasn’t ever supposed to find his, but he can’t stop thinking about Becky. It’s so funny watching Becky silently swearing herself off Sloan all the time when he does something to melt her panties.
Watching Sloan try to fight his feeling the she’s his mate is like watching a tree slowly fall, then BAM it happens!!
Since our last bad guy died in Jax’s book, Gableman has given us a new slimy bad guy with thugs of his very own who’s already done some damage and pissed off the Warriors!!
I love that Becky is tough and can stand up to the Warriors when she needed and that she’s has the same goofy since of humor that they do and can give it as good as they can. She fits the group and most of all she is exactly what Sloan needs.
What’s so great about Terese is all the while she’s writing about the main couple, she’s setting you up for the next one, with out letting the main couple down. The next book is gonna be awesome and I can’t wait!!!

Oh Sloan!!  I have been waiting for the boss man to fall and fall hard he did.  He TRIED to fight off the sassy redhead but he ended up falling head over heels, as we the reader did as well.

Sloan has been grumpy and moody in every book.  I mean I get it.  He is the boss and has a lot to run and control so love is not in the cards for him oooorrr so he thinks.  It’s not that he doesn’t WANT love but he knows he is moody, grumpy and busy so women don’t take kindly to being 2nd in line for his attention.

Becky is done with men.  After her failed marriage she is over men and going to switch teams…LOL then she gets this job with the VC Warriors as the boss’ secretary.  He is commanding and intense but super sexy.  The chemistry these two have in sooo well written.  They are joking and flirting but still keeping the whole boss/secretary thing going.  Mainly Sloan is pushing her away and she is hiding for fear of being rejected.

When they have their first kiss…..I was super excited and then watching Becky put him in his place…LOVED IT!  She is definitely perfect for Sloan.  All the Warriors, except for Sid because she also puts him in his place, love her as do their mates.

The buildup for the next book has me sooo excited for a few reasons….1 – new awesome bad guy. 2. -Blaze…need I say anymore???

I have been waiting for the Boss man’s book. Sloan is not happy go lucky he has so much on his plate. He doesn’t have the luxury of letting his guard down and letting loose he has a vampire race to protect.  Sloan does not have time for anything but his job he defiantly doesn’t have time for a mate.

Becky is hired to be Sloan’s secretary to help him out. She has sworn off men after her divorce even contemplating switching teams. Sloan finds out quickly Becky is not a “Yes, Sir” kind of woman. She speaks her mind and stands up to anyone no matter which Warrior it is.

I enjoyed this one the chemistry between Becky and Sloan was off the charts. Watching them fight it and the banter between them was great. I loved the side stories of the trainees and Blaze *wink* *wink*. Let me just say Jax is my warrior but Blaze is right up there with him.  The new nemesis is going to cause so big issues for the warriors. I have to say I found myself laughing at times, wanting to throat punch some newbies.

I cannot wait for the next book to find out what is going to happen next and I have to know more of Blaze and also what’s going to happen with Steve. OMG Steve I see him getting into some major predicaments in the future. I have fallen in love with series it only grows and becomes so much more. I feel invested in the lives of the warriors and their mates. I want to know more about them all.
