#Twinsieoftheday – Vikings Conquest (Viking Ancestors Rise of the Dragon Book 5) by Sky Purington

An alpha Viking dragon shifter and his destined mate face their demons in a scorching medieval romance about second chances.

Tormented by her past, Tess hits the open road, and never looks back until she’s forced through time to medieval Scandinavia. Caught in an unraveling prophecy, the only way she can defeat the enemy is to take a mate. But first, she must work through heart-wrenching memories. What she doesn’t expect is navigating her rocky history alongside a man as broken as her. A Viking who offers not just solace but sparks fierce desire.

Though determined to end his rival without becoming mated, Viking Rokar Sigdir begins thinking differently when Tess joins him on his quest and awakens feelings he thought long dormant. Yet with passion and a chance to start anew come dark flashbacks of losing his kin and the unimaginable pain it caused. A misery he fears repeating.

Will Rokar and Tess be able to let their pasts go and work together to end their nemesis so they can share a future? Or are some things just too hard to overcome? Find out as they journey through time and turbulent memories on a fast-paced, otherworldly adventure that becomes not just a conquest of their enemy but of their grief-stricken souls.

This book contains strong sexual content and is recommended for a mature audience.

I received this book for an honest review.

This is a good addition to this series, and really brings Tess’s character to life. I’ve read a couple of the
previous books and Tess came across as the flighty, carefree sister. As the previous books directly affect
things in this book I would recommend not starting with this book if new to the series.
Both Tess and her man have been through a painful past, and neither is interested in being hurt again.
Fate, however, has different plans and they must fight through their pain or everything is doomed. Tess
has a big secret that’s she’s even kept from her sisters and it may ruin the future she’s trying to save.
Rokar can’t escape the guilt over the death of his wife and child and has shut everyone out. Trouble is
they have no idea how they are such a huge part of what is going on. When they finally figure it out it’s a
little bit of OMG! due to how their story ties a lot of things together from the entire series. This author
really is very good at slowly unraveling the mystery of the truth without it feeling like it’s a slow reveal.
I’ve really enjoyed this series as there is a lot of Norse mythology woven into the story line along with
Viking dragon shifters. This book is no exception, and if you haven’t read any of the books you may get a
bit confused as to where and when the characters are in different places as there is also time traveling.
There are some major reveals in this book, so I wouldn’t start with this one if your new to the series.
There is explicit adult content.

#Twinsieoftheday – The Answers Are In The Forest (The Answers Series Book 1) by Katie Kaleski

New town. New house. Unexplainable occurrences.

It didn’t take me long to figure out that there’s something strange about the house my mom and I moved in to.

Weird drawings, toys appearing out of nowhere, the sound of footsteps and kids giggling at night—it all points to one thing…our house is haunted.

Instead of packing my stuff and running as far away from the creepy house as possible, I decide to investigate. Risky? Stupid? Maybe. But rather than feed my fear, the mystery that surrounds the haunting leaves me wanting answers.

The pile of questions I have leads me straight to Rusck and his twin brother. Oh, and did I mention there’s a talking rabbit as well? Yup, this particular rabbit seems to be possessed by a five-year-old girl—which only raises more questions.

Desperate to piece together the puzzle of missing children, we soon realize that if we’re not careful, we might be the next victims to fall down this dark, deadly, rabbit hole.

this book was not what I expected. It is a mystery with some slightly creepy parts. Gabby’s new house is
haunted, and the way that the ghosts decide to communicate is a bit disturbing. As she tries to figure
out what is going on, she gets close with a local boy, whose twin brother has something to do with the
house but can’t remember anything. The ghosts need Gabby to help them, but with a mystery killer on
the loose she doesn’t know who to trust.
I did not see the twist at the end coming at all. There is an interesting mix of characters and plot twists
that kept me interested until the end. I would recommend this for older teen as there is some content
that might disturb really young readers just a bit. There is no adult content, and there is violence to
people and animals. Nothing explicit detail, but it might bother some people.

Katie Kaleski has started down many career paths and held many jobs—indie craft store clerk, pizza maker, photo developer, shoe salesperson and cashier, dental assistant in the army, daycare teacher, student teacher—but her favorite one by far is being a writer.

She’s originally from Chicago, so she says things like pop, gym shoes, and front room. Her favorite food group is sugar, and she loves writing more than anything.

#twinsieoftheday – Remote by Lisa Acerbo

When technology fulfills every dream, reality is a nightmare. But where can one rebel hide when even her thoughts might not be her own?

Below the streets of New State, the Grounders fight to remain free of the technological control of the world above. When dusk falls, Wren risks her life by entering the capital city as a raider to secure resources for the rebellion. Each step further inside puts her life in jeopardy from New State’s deadliest weapons – Phantoms. More machine than human, tortured until devoid of emotion and caring, Phantoms have only one objective. Kill. And they do it with exacting precision.

Wren is good at her job as a raider and committed to the cause until she meets Codex, a New State citizen who doesn’t quite fit her preconceived expectations. After a couple of awkward encounters, he shows her the meaning of hooking up—a computer simulation that allows people to live out their fantasies—without the complication of emotional entanglements or physical reality. But what Wren feels for Codex is very real. And it’s punishable by death.

As she and Codex grow closer, Wren convinces him to leave New State for the underground. But unrest between New State and the Grounders escalates, and Phantoms move in to destroy her world. Nothing goes as Wren planned. Families are arrested, loyalties are strained, and Wren’s forced to choose between her people and her feelings. The wrong choice could mean the end of her people, and reality could slip away—forever…

Review by Brandy

I received this book for an honest review.

The world building in this book is really good peeps. It may be a disturbing prediction of the future
though. So many are dependent or addicted to their phones or other tech that even now there is a
growing concern over the disconnect between people, and kids having trouble dealing with how to
interact with their peers.
In this book people have become completely dependent on tech and barely come back to reality. They
are allowed to do anything they want while in cyberspace but must be almost perfect citizens when not
hooked up. Those in control make tech upgrades the most desirable things to have and people get
artificial limbs to be better at their jobs or for cosmetic purposes. Grounders refuse to live hooked up all
the time and get chips implanted in their brains. This book really brings in to focus the question of how
much government control is too much? How do you trust the ones in control to make the right choices?
Wren forces Codex to face the reality of his world, and they both find that things are way worse than
they thought. New state has been “upgrading” their defenses, and the truth of the programs they run is
truly vile. While Wren tries to do what is right, she starts getting threats that escalate as things get
worse. The biggest question of course is, is Codex worth it? There is a large amount of violence, as
Wren’s world is nowhere near safe, and there is no explicit adult content but a little nudity.

I received this book for an honest review.

this book was more interesting than the description led me to think it was going to be. I gave it four stars
due to how very obvious who the bad guy had to be, I mean honestly even the book description says
who it is, and the abruptness of the ending. The ending is a bit abrupt. There wasn’t as much tension
due to already knowing who was behind everything. Although, the what and why of what he was doing
was a surprise.
The world building and character development is very good. And all the magical creatures and their
abilities are lots of fun. Volke ends up bonded to a Knighmare which is a suit of armor made of shadows.
However, he is the 2nd person the Knighmare has bonded to and this leads to problems with the magic.
All in all this is an good book, just not an I couldn’t put it down book. I would recommend older teen due
to the violence and complex nature of the main character.

#WOTR25 #Newrelease #Review – Haven (Stone’s Wolf Sanctuary) Book #3 by: Teresa Gabelman

Raised by shifter parents, Sadie has always straddled the line between two worlds. Now, on the run, she’s desperately searching for a sanctuary where her shifter sister, Lily, can be safe and embrace her true nature. Along their journey, they encounter three brothers, but it’s Kile who awakens something deep within Sadie.

Kile, a wolf shifter working with his brothers at Stone’s Wolf Sanctuary, steps in when he sees Sadie being harassed by a pack hunting her and Lily. As his feelings for her grow stronger, he becomes determined to protect her, urging her to stay at the sanctuary where she can find safety—and where he can claim her as his own.

Now, Sadie faces a stay within the sanctuary’s haven or venture into the human world she’s been kept away from.

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I received a copy from the author for an honest review.

I was so wonderful to get back to the Sanctuary. I forgot how much I loved these wolves. I may have to go back and do a reread.

Sadie was raised by shifter parents, but now finds herself on the run trying to protect her sister, Lilly. Sadie is determined to find a safe place for Lily in the shifter world. She is in search of the Sanctuary where rumor has it is a safe place for shifters. When Lily and Sadie’s past collide with what they are searching for their lives are about the change.

Kile works at the Wolf Sanctuary when he sees a beauty in trouble, he steps in to protect her and her sister. Kile knows Sadie is his but he has to convince her to stay at the sanctuary so he can protect her and her sister.  Sadie is determined to leave so no more harm comes to her sister or the Wolf Sanctuary.

I enjoyed seeing Kile and Sadie get to know each other. I loved seeing the Wolf Sanctuary growing and being reunited with the characters. Sadie does have issues believing she can live in the shifter world being a human. The way everyone, well ok everyone except for the unmated females, gravitate toward Sadie and Lily especially their cooking. Larry, one of the workers, had me in stiches I mean really. I really hope we get Lily’s story. There is so much more I want to learn about her and possibly Alex.

I received this book for an honest review.

This book is a bit unusual and reminds me of the town in a nightmare before Christmas, but the citizens
are human. It’s creepy, but not scary creepy. I would say it is a good book for early teen and up.
Henry lives with his parents and sister and likes to collect comics. He is tricked and ends up with a pocket
watch that is ticking down to his early death. He teams up with another boy with a pocket watch to try to
find a way to remove the watches that are now stuck around their necks. When they start putting things
together, they realize that they have a bigger problem than they thought. Henry’s sister realizes that
something is going on and starts to poke her nose in Henry’s business.
There is a colorful cast of characters that have interesting little quirks that add depth to the story, and the
world building is really interesting as it has these elements that are normally very creepy, but the way that
they are accepted as normal by the people in the story keeps this book from being scary. There are a few
things that I was thinking “ew” that’s a little yucky, but I think young boys would really like these moments. Boys and girls should both enjoy this story, but I think that boys who have trouble finding things that are interesting to read will enjoy this story. In all I enjoyed this story. It’s quirky, imaginative, and a bit different that what I normally read.

She lives in a land with tall mountains and wide plains with her two furry sidekicks and one non-furry accomplice. Review by Brandy

I received this book for an honest review.

I will admit that I don’t read many mystery novels. The ones I do read though, usually end up
being interesting and this one is no exception. What’s more interesting than a bunch of
strangers shoved together for a destination wedding that has a giant bridezilla? Ones that have
skeletons and secrets in their closets that they are trying to hide when the best man gets
murdered.
Poor Lexi is the maid of honor for her best friend Olivia’s wedding. Olivia is taking bridezilla to
the next level with her destination wedding weeklong schedule. Lexi is trying desperately to
keep everything from becoming a disaster when Olivia decides that nobody needs to know that
the best man has been murdered, and that the wedding must go on. When Olivia’s sister shows
up with a plan to ruin the wedding that includes an ex that broke her sister’s heart, Lexi’s
problems hit nuclear level. Between love, lies, murder and lots of secrets Lexi learns a lot about
herself and her best friend.
There are some really interesting characters in this book that have some surprises up their
sleeve. The world building is pretty good, and I felt like I could feel the ocean breeze and picture
the small coastal town so clearly. I mostly gave this book five stars because I was drawn into the
story not just because of the murder mystery but because of Lexi’s struggles to come to terms
with truths about herself, her best friend, and what she really wanted in her life.

I received this book for an honest review.

This is not my usual cup of tea, but it was interesting. Rose’s husband has died in a car accident, and
little lies start to come out about his activities. Rose has always relied on her husband for everything and
now has to try to come to terms with how much he kept hidden from her. She starts to suspect that
everyone around her is hiding things from her and her world starts to unravel.
I have to hand it to the author. Just when you think that you have it figured out a new twist is thrown in
and more lies come out. Even at the end when you really think you’ve got it there’s an even bigger twist.
There is no adult content and it suits the storyline that way. There is some violence, but you have to
wonder is it real? Did Rose imagine it? Is she loosing her mind? Things get a bit dicey here and there
especially when people start ending up dead. The real question is why can’t Rose remember anything
before the age of 7 and why is she having black outs? You don’t really see the real answer to that
question coming at all!

#WOTR24 #NewRelease #Review – Rhythm (Rocky Mountain Rockstars #3) by: Jade C. Jamison

He’s a quiet drummer who avoids relationships.
She’s an outspoken tattoo artist who only wants to have a little fun.

Claire has been commissioned to design a logo for Adrian’s band Intent to Murder, but she’s had her eye on the sexy drummer for a while now. The guy is hotter than Death Valley and unlike any of the a-holes she’s dated in the past.

Not that it matters…because Claire doesn’t plan on nurturing a relationship. She just wants to get this cutie out of her system.

Good luck with that. Adrian’s not willing to pursue any sort of relationship, just for fun or not. But the chemistry between them can only be ignored for so long…

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third book in the Rocky Mountain Rockstars series.  I could not wait to read about the quite drummer, Adrian, and the amazing tattoo artist, Claire.

Intent to Murder ask Claire to design a logo for the band. Claire and Adrian see sparks fly but both hold back. Adrian doesn’t date due to things that happened in his past. Claire has issues with trust due to her past and parents. I loved when these two are together but when they let their paranoia get in the way things go astray.

I liked that not only did we get to see Claire and Adrian navigate their friendship to more than that relationship but we get to see the other band members. I enjoyed that we get to see more of the inside workings of the band like their thought process for the possible tours and merchandising.  This was more than a love story but also a journey through an entire bands livelihood. I cannot wait for more of this series. I love the band members and the ones they fall in love with.

#newrelease – The Night The Stars Went Dark – By: Heather D’Agostino

As the only child of world-famous pianist, Julian Vaughn, I was born into music. It wasn’t just what I did, it was it who I was. I began taking lessons at the tender of six. I was raised to follow in my father’s legacy. It wasn’t just that I wanted to be the best, it was expected.
I went to all the best schools, trained with the best teachers, and spent my summers at special camps. I was right on the cusp of graduating college with all my dreams coming true, when tragedy struck.
Grief caused me to give it all up and silence my talent… until he came into town. The boy I knew from years ago remembered the girl I used to be and was determined to help me find her… only I wasn’t sure I wanted him to.
Could I go back and love the one thing that made me remember?

Review by Melinda

I received this book for an honest review.

This was a tough story for me to read losing a parent recently this hit a bit close to home. I have to say I liked Aspen, a/k/a Penny, and absolutely loved Bryson.

Aspen lost her mom and it was just her and her dad. Her dad was big in the music world and Penny was trying to make her way in it also. I liked that Penny is trying to make her way in to the music world on her own and her dad is not making it happen for her. The relationship Penny and her dad have I absolutely love; her dad is her rock and gives her the confidence she needs to succeed on her own. Her best friend Bryson is right there with her cheering her on and giving her the push she needs. When tragedy hits Penny a second time and she wants to give up on everything she has worked so hard for her music and Bryson.

Bryson refuses to give up on her nor is he willing to allow her to give up on herself. Bryson is so good to Penny and understanding of what she is going through. He is there to help her through everything, encourage her and cheer her on just like he always has. I LOVE Bryson he is so amazing and caring. He knows what Aspen needs and has a way of making her see it also. Bryson is good for her he is good at pushing her outside her comfort zone making her a more well-rounded person. Everyone needs a Bryson in their life.
