Rounding Third

synopsis

I was destined for stardom.
From the age of seven, I was an all-star.
Parents praised me, coaches worshipped me.
As I got older, girls begged for me.
I was Beltline’s baseball God, guaranteed to put this small town on the map.

Then, after one night, that future vanished.

The legend was laid to rest.
I gave up my scholarship.
I fled from Beltline.
I left the girl behind.

Now, I’m back.

angies review

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Who loves a GOOD 2nd chance romance??  MEEEE!!  That is who!! I gotta say this is the first baseball romance book that I have read (or can remember) and I loved it.  As much as I love rockers and motorcycle hotties, I was loving this new hero story….well new for me anyway.

This is the story of high school love that is torn apart by an accident……by a simple tragedy.  Our town hero baseball stud gets the blame and is essentially chased outta town.  He doesn’t want to hurt the love of his life so he lets her go as well as run from the pain of the situation.

When the story begins to unfold we see our baseball hottie Crosby getting a 2nd chance at life in general.  He is going to be playing baseball for another college.  This college he will reunite with his best friend Brax and his love El.  He needs her and it’s taken him 2 years to figure it crap out!!  El is stunned when Cros reenters her life…she has moved on….or tried to move on and is not sure if her heart can handle his return.

The couple have so much to deal with from outside forces trying to break them apart because he is a “super star athlete” to their home town hating him to her family saying apart they will lead better lives but El and Crosby can’t let go.  They are the air the other needs.

As the story unfolds we get more and more details of the “night” that changed their lives.  When the final showdown happens I GASPED at what El tells our “villain” but was happy to see her taking a stand for the man she loves and the man she can’t be without.

The series, I am super stoked for!!  I can’t wait for Brax book.  I kinda wiggled my eyes at him and am like “hey Michelle I need more dets on this guy” and especially about who he was comforting after a bad night!!!????

Melinda's Review

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

Wow…Never realized how hot ball players could be. This is the first baseball story I hve read and mam I think I’m going to LOVE this series. I could not get enough of Crosby Lynch then there was Braxton, Oliver, and Tyler.

Crosby was a great ball player had a scholarship and was a town favorite but one night with friends after the big game changed everything. He lost friends, the town turned on him. He left his scholarship behind, left his town, left the love of his life and tried to move on from tragedy and give those around him a better life. Until now he is face to face with his past. Ella Keaton and Braxton Brentwood, they know his life story can he face the love of his life and best friend again after all he did?

Ella Keaton had the perfect life a boyfriend that would give her the world and a best friend. Kedsey. One night changed everything she lost a best friend and her boyfriend. Now her past is smack dab in front of her. Crosby and Ella have a strong bond and fight for a second change but have so much going against them, family, a town, a painful past. Question is will Cros and El get their forever or will their past be too much and break their hearts once more.

I so enjoyed the second change love story. The bond that Ella and Crosby have is amazing even after being apart all the time. Watching the interaction between the guys was awesome, their bets were great and Ella was a good sport too. Cros and El back story had me in tears what they went through and had to overcome. The town that was out for blood mainly Crosby’s and to see Ella stand up for what she wanted for her friends was amazing. I really wanted more of Crosby and Ella but I’m so excited for Braxton’s story and all of the guys if I’m honest.

about the author

Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for Mother’s Day. She’s pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. 😉

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.
