Bentley Jenkins has lived in his older brother, Baylor’s shadow since the day he was born. Never feeling like he could live up to the high standards that was expected of him, he set out to make his own name for himself. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a well-respected one.
Playboy, smooth talker, ladies man; these were just a few of the names that he was directly associated with. He took pride in the fact that he never had to seduce a woman to get her to fall at his feet. Normally, a look, a wink, and a flash of his sexy grin was all it took.
Any woman would jump at the chance to be with him, so much that he’s never heard the word, no.
Until the woman who claimed to be infatuated with him for years.
Until the woman he now couldn’t seem to get out of his head no matter how hard he tried…
Placed him in the Friend Zone.
Miriam Armstrong changed his entire perspective on women and for the first time in his life, he found himself wanting to settle down, to be a one woman man. But first, he needed to prove to Miri that the chemistry between them was worth being pursued, and that he wanted to be…More Than a Friend.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Bentley…wow sorry Dean but we are breaking up. Yeah the younger guy caught my eye last book but this book he won my heart way over.
Bentley is the town man whore. He is kinda proud of it in my opinion. He can have whoever whenever. At his brother’s wedding he is thrown together, thanks to Julia, with Miri. He is stunned at how beautiful this wall flower was from the memories he has of her from high school.
Miri met Bentley on one of the worst days of her life in high school but his kind heart made her heart flutter for the past 10 years. No way does he even remember her or even give her the time of day. No Bentley is purely a fantasy for her.
When the two hang out at the wedding, Bentley can feel the desire coming off Miri so he does his “usual” with a girl but even though she REALLY wants to do the usual back, she says no. She friend zoned him. WHAT? No one says no. He is Bentley. Well Bentley decides to be a “friend” all the while thinking this will get him into Miri’s bed. However, the more time he spends with her, the more he grows to *Gasp* need her and *Double Gasp* LOVE HER!! NO way. How can he love someone like her? She is everything he can never be.
Miri can’t believe Bentley agreed to be her friend. She thinks he has ulterior motives but figures once he realizes she won’t move forward to his bed, he will lose interest. She is stunned stupid to see this man whore has a soft, genuine and kind nature that he hides from other people. Soon she is so confused because she can’t lose him.
The couple are stuck. Both are afraid to push the friendship limits because they think the other isn’t feeling the MORE. When Miri’s past comes back Bentley has to put up or shut up.
OMG the epilogue…typical Bentley comments when he gives her a gift. I was loving it and it made me giggle so hard. This book has so much freaking intensity and chemistry. The couple will go down as a favorite of mine for sure.
Amber is a stay at home mom currently residing in Southern Indiana with her husband and two beautiful daughters. If she’s not shopping, going to concerts or on road trips, or having her nose stuck in a book, you’ll often find her at the ball field watching one of the numerous sports that her girls are involved in.
She is the author of the contemporary romance Brown County Series, titles include Not Alone, Runaway Love, How To Save A Life, and Unconditionally (M/M).
